Dreamweaver

This has happened repeatedly. After running "Check Links Sitewide" on my local website, I find that dreamweaver has made a copy of my website's parent folder and placed it in one of the site's subfolders. Fortunately it doesn't copy the entire folder, usually only one random HTML file.  And it doesn't always pick the same subfolder. After I check links, I have to go through my whole site to locate the duplicate. I keep deleting these bogus folders, only to see that they have returned next time I check links. I have rebuilt the site cache several times, reloaded, rebooted, etc. My app is up to date (v. 20.2).  Any ideas?

I am new to Dreamweaver but it is part of my Adobe CC subscription.  Upon trying it for HTML/CSS, I am delighted at how easy to use and keep files organized.  Now I am wondering if I can use it for PHP/JS learning, and if so, how to set DW up to run will only a local host and NO remote host.  Is this possible on my Mac Pro?  If so, what changes in Preferences should I make.  ( I am using NAMPP and Local by Flywheel with my training programs).

HiI still use Dreamweaver CS5 (Registered) on old laptop, but, wish to reinstall onto new Laptop. I'm aware I'd need to Deactivate form old machine, then re install and re activate to new Laptop. However, I've heard Adobe no longer support CS5, no probs, but, will Adobe allow me to transfer ?. I can't really go down the path of Renting new software. Any help greatly appreciatedJohn

Anyone else finding Dreamweaver freezes after loading the main screen and clicking on a htlm file to open? Also tried an earlier version of DW and it did the same. Thanks, Matt.

hi guys, I'm having massive issues transferring files to the ftp. I have run into issues with the ftp url I was told to use. I had to create another url, connected successfully. However now when I click the put button to transfer the pages nothung happens. Any ideas on what i can do?

A few users are starting to have this issue. Done all the suggested fixes and none have work so far. All have had the same error in the event viewer.

I'm hoping someone can help me. I set up a Dreamweaver template  with an editable area in which I have both an image slider and a content hide/show feature (when you mouse over). When I copy this code into the Dreamweaver template, both work just fine. However, when I create a page from this template and insert these features (the slider is in javascript) into the editable region of the page, they do not work. Somehow, these features are not being run from the style sheet(s) and/pr js files. HELP!!

I feel so stupid asking this. But how do I find or set up a site root. Every thing that I do, I get the message thar the file images is outside the site.

I have an image map with a hot spot that when clicked goes to a link. I want text to appear when the mouse is rolled over the hotspot. Surely this can be done simply in DW? INSERT > HTML > ROLLOVER IMAGE doesn't do me any good as it wants me to specify an original image which can't be done with a hotspot. I looked at mouseover events but where would I put the code. I guess what I really want to do is insert a tooltip. HELP!

Can anyone tell me how to fix a problem I have with my website please.  I have designed it using the century gothic font which works fine on pc but renders as times new Roman on apple devices.  Ofcourse my font is set to century gothic on my style sheet.  Is there any coding I can include to override apple changing it to TNR? 

Hello. I'm attempting to put php code (for the first time) in an html document. I'm getting a "Special Characters Must be Escaped" error at the opening and closing tags of the php code. I'll post all the code I'm using but the php code will eventually be placed in a separate document for the form element to action to. it was working fine then just stopped, I just get a page that says "You tried to access an external HTML page, which can not be opened on the device for preview. Open the page in Dreamweaver to preview the page on the device."  I looked through the help files in this forum and most suggest that I use the "open in browser" command and that does work but it is not the same function as the live preview. any ideas I am using 20.1 on win 10 

All my linting faults show up as being in line 1 of my page. Here I engineered a problem on line 43 but the output shows all the errors in line 1. I can't find a solution and have checked my settings. any help anyone?  

Here's DW newbie with a simple question. Can't find it on the two page shortcut list.  How do I let Dreamweaver remember it's last code line position? when I reopen DW it always goes back to line 1. Thanks for reading and (hopefully) answering  Best Regards, René

Hi, I installed a few apps through Creative Cloud. Acrobat and InDesign work fine, but when trying to launch Dreamweaver, nothing happens.If I check the tasks manager, Dreamweaver appears with only 7Mo of memory each time I try to launch it again. I tried deleting and reinstalling it, didn't work. Any idea? I have a limited amount of internet data so if I could avoid re-downloading again and again, it would help me as well 😛 Thanks! William

Is MySQLi included in Dreamweaver 2020?If yes, where dot I find it?I have PHP pages made in PHP version 5.6. I want to upgrade these pages to PHP 7.4.2. How do I proceed? Is there an easy way to rewrite the PHP scripts?Thank you in advance.  

So, I just installed a fresh, new Windows 10 and Dreamweaver.I opened the program, it welcomed me, start screen, I chose to see a sample document.And then the program just closed and disappeared and this showed up:So, obviously, I ticked all the boxes and clicked Allow access.I tried to run the program again. It closes immediately as I open it, without any prompts and crash reports.What to do? 

I am the IT administrator and the user is signed into Adobe CC 5.2.0.436 and Adobe Dreamweaver 20.2 with a Federated ID. When they want to use the preview on device feature they get this error "You do not have access to this service. Contact your system administrator for assistance"  When I use an Adobe ID for testing the feature works fine but as soon as the Federated ID is signed the error comes back.  Is there a solution to this where the user can have access as I have tried everything on this website https://helpx.adobe.com/nz/dreamweaver/using/device-preview-troubleshooting.html but it hasn't helped?

I've never done an imagemap in Dreamweaver (did heaps of them in GoLive)I'm using this document https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/image-maps.htmlIt says that when I select the image and expand properties I should get a map field but this is what my properties look like when I select the image. Where is this map field that the tutorial speaks of? 

Hi. I am using a free web design from Templatemo. When I create a template of my own using this design (with all their formating, bootstrap, CSS etc..), the template seems fine. A preview of the template looks great. However, when I then create a new page using that template, it has lost all the CSS formating (spacing, fonts, colors etc). The "live" view on Dreamweaver shows only the HTML coded text, while a preview on a web browser brings up the error message "Save all the files (including related files) to preview.". Please Help!
