Dreamweaver

I am a beginner to Dreamweaver and am looking to know how to design and create a vertical navigation bar. I have only ever done horizontal menus and I want to change it up a bit. What steps would I take?

Hi.I have 3 different versions of a web magazine locally:domain.tld (the active version)draft.domain.tld (the version with new articles not yet published, but short before)beta.domain.tld (the version with major changes, which needs further development, a field for experiments, tests, etc.)I like to use the images of one of these three local directories in the two other directories in form of a symbolic link.So I created a symbolic link of "~/websites/domain/draft.domain.tld/img" in "~/websites/domain/beta.domain.tld/"In the file manager of the macOS the "~/websites/domain/beta.domain.tld/img" is shown with a little arrow and works without problems. I can access all the images.But in DW does show in his internal file manager: "For this extension no valid editor could be found"My question:How can use a symbolic link of a directory in DW please?Thanks.

Can DW be set to keep an ongoing FTP (SFTP) log?  I realize that can be a lot of data.  but I recently had a need. I was sure that a page had been put to a site, only to find out it had not.  I wanted to review the FTP log from the day I expected it was put to see if there was anything in the log.THX

All of the sudden DW CS6 will not start up anymore, but wants to open as CC. But I don't have a CC subscription. I need CS6 to maintain some older websites.Trying to start through creative cloud gives the same problem. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,I'm pretty new to Web Development, and I'm trying to create a simple website. On one of my pages I have multiple list items within an unordered list. I've set the flex-basis to 33.33% and allowed it to wrap in hopes of getting three list items in each row. However, the list items are not filling the entire width of the unordered list; there is a significant gap on the left side. I would be grateful for any suggestions on how to make the list items fill the width of the unordered list. I've been working on my first website in years (following a self-imposed break from online dev) and had a lot of catching up to do. Before the break, designing for mobile was a secondary concern. Sites were a lot more static. Bootstrap wasn't widely-used, but jQuery was. Hello,I have a website with a few tables. The biggest table is 3 columns, of course this does not display correctly on an iPhone, as the table gets cut off and you would have to scroll. Ideally, I would love for the table to appear in mobile with each column beneath the one above.  Any other method would do.My website is www.nobsphones.com. Hi, I'm trying to duplicate an old pre-DW webpage of mine and I can't quite get some fonts and paragraphs to match.I'm using DW  current ver and using the split view and looking at the code and I can't quite duplicate the look and feel in some areas.Digging into the code, I keep seeing differences like "deNormalLS mfs_22". I've duplicated the code in many places and in the sections where the new page doesn't quite look like the old page, the only code difference i'm seeing is this "deNormalLS mfs_xx" where "xx" is a changing number.Could someone tell me what this is and could it explain the look differences?Thanks!

In the filemanager "finder" on macOS (I use the latest version) you can hide files/folders in two ways:a leading dot in the name or the terminal command "chflags hidden".Dreamweaver shows those files/folders.Please how can I achieve, that DW hides those files/folders in it's own file manager?Thanks

I like the option to "cloake" elements to exclude them from the site sync.How can I please hide those "cloaked" elements in the file manager of DW?I use DW 19 on the latest version of macOS.Thanks.

Hi All, I recently built a nav bar in Javascript for a website but I have forgotten how to add an extra page somehow xD I'm just learning to code right now so am very inexperienced. I'd love if anyone could help and lend me a hand with bug fixing and the like too here is my code.The code for the other pages can be found here too if needed.

What happened to the code colorouring? I'd like to have more control over the colors of particular pieces of code. It was possible to change it in the previous dreamweaver, why has it been removed? I have only 4 themes to choose, each of them is terrible. White is to light, dark is too contrasting with browser. For webdevelopers the most healthy option is lightgray background for code.

In the Dreamweaver tutorial titled "Use Cascading Sytle Sheets (CSS) to position elements on your web pages and apply color in Adobe Dreamweaver by Daniel Walter Scott,"  I am finding that I cannot get my nav bar links to work while they are within the hero heading. Instead they have to be placed in their own section. Is this a common problem with nav bars and what is the best solution? It seems to be layered on top of the hero section in the tutorial, but that will not work for me. Mahalo,Lane Davey

Can somebody help me with this problem ? I open my dreamweaver, and it doesn't show the code window like it should be, but instead, it only shows the file explorer window just like in the picture an i can't find any close or X button to close it

Yeah. It's certainly controversial. In my opinion, the entire subject of frameworks is controversial... But I think it's really a fabrication born of a want for instant gratification, regardless of the price. I've heard people on this forum make outrageous claims as to the benefits of using Bootstrap and its market acceptance - often in an attempt to claim that it is "the choice" of professionals. While my candor probably overshadows my CSS skills - especially in this particular forum - I believe Eric Meyer is still widely considered a master with CSS. Using CS6. I set the <a> tag to "No line breaks" in the tag library because the line breaks it inserted would create unwanted spaces on the page.But now, when I run "apply source formatting" to fix my indenting, it actually deletes any space after the </a> so the next word is crammed up against my link.  i have not been able to figure out how to correct this with Tag Libraries.  Anyone else have this problem?

I currently I currently cannot edit in Design mode. The cursor is a circle with a line through it everywhere I tried to get to in the site. It seems like I am in some kind of mode that I need to get out of. Does anybody have any suggestions?Observations I hope will help:1. It shows an * at the end of the file name.2.  Even when the cursor looks like I could possibly edit, as soon as I click on anything it changes to the circle with a line through itand the entire site looks like it is now inaccessible.3. I can edit in Live mode.4. Dreamweaver 20185. Even when I tried to re-create the page, the same issue occurs. (Same file name)6. All of a sudden, my DW 19.0.1 started becoming "unresponsive".  It will start up, bring up the workspace, and then on my iMac I get the "beach ball".  I waited 30 minutes and zip!    I did an un-install using the Creative Cloud manager and then an "update" (it did now have a re-install option).  No change.  17.5.0 works just fine as does 18.2.  Using latest Mojave 10.14.2.Tried rebooting, any ideas what to do next?

Hi, i'm working with my own dreamweaver template (.dwt), so i have a lot of html pages located in nultiple levels (folders and subfolders i mean) depending by this unique template. Now i need to use the attribute srcset in my template, but it is not given a relative url in pages dependent on it. How to fix it?Regards[Moderator edited title for clarity.]

I'm using the following code to enlarge a background image (without exceeding the limits of the containing object).a.item { display: inline-block; width: 300px; height: 200px; background-size: cover;-webkit-transition: all .5s; transition: all .5s;} a.item:hover {-webkit-transition: all .5s;transition: all .5s;background-size: 110%;}I opted to do it this way because the transform:scale method (which auto-animates) apparently cannot be applied solely to a background image; as it will affect the whole container. The downside of the background-size method is that it just jumps from one state to another in a single step (despite the addition of 'transition: all.5s' which I'd hoped would animate the tween, but seemingly has no effect whatsoever on latest FF/IE).So the real question here is... is it even POSSIBLE to animate a change in 'background-size' or am I wasting my time trying?
