Dreamweaver

Hi,I have Dreamweaver I bought and used it from 2008 to now just purchased dreamweaver 2018 and  cant figure out how to make each text in a table a different color.  If I change 1 text color all the text colors change.  I just want to change the color in each little area of the table. I could do it before just don't know how to do it on dreamweaver 2018. thanks[Moderator edited for clarity.]

I have been using Dreamweaver for years to manage a fairly basic web site and I love it because I don't need to know a whole lot about HTML. I've gotten pretty good at the MINIMAL basics of HTML anyway and can do some editing by rewriting the code versus WYSIWYG in Dreamweaver.Now, we've been told we are in need of integrating a content management system into our site and that's a strange new world to me. The designer suggests using Joomla to create the features we need, but when he's finished with the web site creation, I want to be able to resume the upkeep of the web site without constant reliance on an outside party. After the CMS (which I don't understand at all) has been implemented, will I be able to use Dreamweaver to maintain the site going forward and make minimal edits to that content as needed without learning a whole new language? I'm pretty tech savvy, but not in the HTML world. When you start talking front end, back end, etc., I'm lost.

How do you find out how much data is stored in your dream weaver program?I want to buy a laptop 2-in-1 and copy my dream weaver program to the laptop. I do not know how many GB's will be used with all the data, photos, videos, etc I have within this program. How do I find this information?

Ever since I upgraded to Dreamweaver 2019, I have been unable to edit preferences.  The program simply crashes whenever I try.  Anyone else having this problem?  Anyone have a solution?  Thanks -- Doug Schwarz

I was missing on PVII extension in DW2019 (Mac) Unfortunately I deleted DW2018. Adobe dropped support for Ext Mgr without any notice (major customer disrespect). I know I can't get any help from Adobe on this so I just want to downgrade back to DW2018. How do I do it?

I know you can define multiple classes at once, by separating them with commas... but can you do the opposite?Something like...$stringA = 500px.class1 { min-width: $stringA;px }.class2 { max-width: $stringA;px }This isn't anything I'm trying to do specifically, let's not focus too much on the example; I'm just trying to find out if there's a way to define a variable in one location and call it in multiple other locations (with or without the help of php).Thanks!

When I open an .html file in DW any special characters in the file get converted into Chinese characters for some reason.For example, if I have the copyright symbol © in the .html document and I open it in DW, that symbol gets converted to this Chinese character: 息Here's some example HTML that contains the © symbol:It seems to have something to do with the encoding setting because it looks like it gets automatically switched to "Japanese (EUC)" when the file is opened, even if the Title/Encoding was originally set to UTF-8 when I created the .html file:Does anyone know a way to prevent this from happening? Or to force all .html files to open with UTF-8 encoding by default?This only started happening in the last couple of weeks. I'm not sure if it was caused by a recent CC update or something...When I open the .html file in question in other text editors, or even just notepad, the © remains intact, no issues.Thanks in advance!

Please help.After running the latest update to ver 19, Dreamweaver crashes right after opening. I have an "emojis" page I use all the time and now I have issues with editing the page. The issue is related to selecting UTF-8 encoded emojis but is so hard to describe that I thought this video would help: YouTube https://youtu.be/PP1hEla9eGMThis issue began after I recently purged a trojan from my PC and web site, which required that I copy and paste the code for this page...Emojis ⚜ Special Characters ⚜ Unicode ⚜ ASCII Reference http://goese.com/reference/ASCII_extended_character_set.html...from another laptop that had not been infected yet.Anybody who can help me fix this issue (so I can easily copy and paste characters in the code view like I used to) will be a hero of mine. As a footnote not described in the video, when I cut a single emoji character then paste it in another part of the page, I get improperly rendered characters (question mark in diamond) in both the location the character was cut from and pasted to. Very strange. I'll come back and check for comments on Youtube

Where does the gtag code go, just in the index or in each template

Using Dreamweaver 8, every time I close DW and open it again I have to enable the "Standard" toolbar. It disappears between sessions. I tried pinning it to the top menu bar, creating a named workspace, and searching for other options to save the screen layout. No luck anywhere.Seems that this should be simple--saving a customized layout. Anyone know how to keep that toolbar open between sessions?

Designer cosplaying as a programmer here (and have been for 10 years), so feel free to dumb down those replies, I won't be insulted. So here's the thing... I currently have all my landing pages in the domain.com/pages folder. However, I'd like to clean up my urls so that the redundant /pages portion of the url is removed from the user's view, by having domain.com/welcome.php forward to where the actual page is stored, domain.com/pages/welcome.php.I've run some tests, and a simple...redirect 301      /welcome.php     /pages/welcome.php...will accomplish this. And since I don't plan on having more than a dozen pages on this site, I could just do this for each page, on 12 separate lines in the .htaccess file.However, with this method, the user can see there was a redirect there, because the link they clicked isn't where they ended up.If there was a way to simply mirror the /pages folder at the root, that would probably solve everything with 1 l

I use Dreamweaver since many years. Dreamweaver latest version doesn´t have 7.2 php as an option. My webhotel ONE uses now 7.2 and I need to have ithis latest version to be able to update my webpage in the future.... Incredibly strange that updating the program from my creative clouds account isn´t enough. Strange Adobe! Why don´t you adjust to reality and update?

Hi I am new to Dreamweaver so please excuse silly questions.I have a template which works and I am happy with it but when I open new HTML document based on this template Dreamweaver changes the file path names.eg in the .DWT file i reference a file as "../pages/photocomp.htm" but in the new HTML file this becomes the full path on my local computer ie "file:///macintosh/users/mike/websites/...etcIt seems i cannot publish such a file as it the remote server would not fine the files.What am I doing wrong?Many thanksMike

I want the images to be responsive to the page, which I can do by making max-width 100%, however the image grows too long in height and requires the viewer to scroll to see the entire image. See attached images, one where the image fits on the screen and one where extending the page has made it not fit.How do I set the image to not grow beyond the height of the current window? I have tried working with max-height, to no avail. Any advice is greatly appreciated!Best, Weston Uram

Hello, I've got about 1500 websites in a folder, which are all configured with Dreamweaver.Because of Dropbox, the name of the folder has changed, so the path for each website has also changed. Is there any way to change the Dreamweaver configuration of all the websites at once, or I need to do it one by one?

Looking for basic functionality :Click a link, screen fades to semi-dark, another div gets superimposed on the site, clicking anywhere returns to site underneath.(Would be even nicer if everything faded in and out in 3 or 4 steps, and if the background blurred a bit in addition to going darker.)Any scripts to recommend that even a nub like myself could implement without accidentally unraveling space-time? Yes, I've gone backwards to CS6.  I have lost the "type" and "dates" and "size", etc on the files tab.  Does anyone know how to get that back?  It doesn't work by right clicking on the bar like it does in CC.  I've tried that.Anybody?TIA!
