I did an update on Windows 10 and now my DW CS3 says it will stop working after 5 days if I don't activate. I have read the forum discussions of this problem. I uninstalled, got a new serial number, reinstalled by clicking the online link. Between the two I ran the Creative Cloud cleaning tool which said "no Dreamweaver found to clean". I've never been asked for the new serial number and reinstalling only gives me the original DW with original serial number and same warning that it will stop working in 5 days. I've done this four time with same results. I have verified between installation that the DW is no longer on my laptop. I have two days left in the 5 day period and use DW daily so don't want to lose it. Please tell me what to do next. Thanks. Dale

I recently opened a template file just to check it out. I noticed the dashed blue lines around the elements. Super Handy!! My question, how the heck do I turn those on? I'm still fairly new to coding and would find that little feature super handy!!
How can I install extensions from the exchange with the extension manager? All I get is "This extension cannot be installed, it requires Dreamweaver version 13 or greater" I have the latest version!??

:i use dreamweaver cc 2017.i created a home page with a masthead section, which has an imaga as its background, and text on top.when i am working on it, it looks nice, picture on top, text nicely formatted. I use css3, and it works in dreamweaver.when i transfer (put) the file to my hosting company, i do not get the image, the image is missing, the text is crowded, and it looks ugly.i deleted the file from the server and reloaded it dozens of times, re did the css files, but each time there is no background and my text overlaps.since i am stubborn, i have been doing this for 8 hours.why is my page not “putting” properly?i tested, and ftp is working.
I've added an audio mp3 file to my older version of Dreamweaver MX. Works great but it autoplays everytime the page loads and I need that to stop. I've read through the forum and have tried the fix of adding a code to the parameters (autoplay="false") but it still won't stop. Here's my code: <embed src="sermons/Adam11.5.17Sermon.mp3" width="400" height="100" align="middle" autoplay="false"></embed>I've also tried autostart="false" and that doesn't work. I'm managing a group of subpages on a company CMS. To achieve what I need to, I'm using html within a rich text module styled on-page. In a perfect world, I'd make it an external stylesheet for one and done changes. Of course, the CMS doesn't support this.So... Is there a way in DW to have a pseudo external stylesheet where I can make changes and it appears on each page for when I copy & paste the code into the component? Snippets is close, but I would still need to make the changes on one of the pages, copy it to my snippet, then remove the current style section and replace with the snippet.Any thoughts?
Two years ago, it was also a concern for me but many things change for good or for bad, for that reason I bring to the attention the topic about the optimal workflow for a good form validation. I heard in the last weeks MANY kinds of validation:- Through HTML 5- Client side validation- Server side validation- Customized validation (I read this in the bootstrap documentation).- Browser validation- Bootstrap classes for validation ("has-success", "has-danger", and so on...)- PHP, JavaScript, jQuery validation...So, I don't think that is possible to use all of them, it might be even useless. But, is it possible to use two of them? For example: bootstrap validation plus server side? What is a good trend today for this? If I choose two kinds of validation, that means to use two kinds of coding. It might br some complicated how to place the tags or scripts in the code editor, right? Or should I just choose the one easier for me, because in our days all might more secure than last year for ex

Hi, I have created a table and a stylesheet. I insert the HTML into Muse and the stylesheet in assets. For the desktop version of my site, this works perfectly. However, the same code does not work for the mobile version of my page. I have not published my site and am testing in my browser locally. So I dropped an image into Dreamweaver from Photoshop, and I'm wanting to create HotSpots so that when customers click on certain images they are then taken to certain URLs. I built the image and input a link, however when I drop it into Salesforce Marketing Cloud's email studio it has the link for the entire image and not just the Hotspots. Anyone have an idea of what I'm doing wrong or links to resources regarding HotSpots? As you can probably tell I'm very new to this so any help is greatly appreciated.
I have had a large set of custom snippets that I have moved from version to version of Dreamweaver for years. With the most recent upgrade to CC 2018 the old method of finding them in the configuration folder on the local drive does not work. During the upgrade, it asked me if I wanted to enable cloud sync. I said no, not knowing this would be needed to get the custom snippets. I have since attempted to enable syncing, but have not been able to get the custom snippets back. How can I restore them? Is there a way to store them locally?
So I'm very new to Dreamweaver, and I'm trying to create a HotSpot within a PSD File on Dreamweaver, and I'm running into some trouble. After I upload the PSD file to my email service provider it just puts the link for the whole picture and not just the spot on the picture I need. Does anyone know I how to make sure that I specifically link it to that one place on my picture?

I'm making a web site as a school project, and are kind of new to all this coding. I can't seem to place the objects where I want them to be, the black splatter is supposed to be on the middle of the page next to the navigation menu on the left (see picture), but it just gets placed down on the page... how can I move it further up on the page? I also want some pictures on the right side next to this "splatter", how do I manage to place them next to the "splatter" if I can get that one right?I want the "splatter" image to be where the circle is, and images where the squares is. I still don't understand half of this, so bare with me.Several paragraphs have hyperlinks on the text. White background, black text, blue hyperlink.Got an 'article' so i can have a coloured box with white text. This text needs to be a link. If i just make it into a link, it colours it the blue that the box background is (main colour across design). Found a way to have the text white. <a href="link" style="color:white">what i would also like is for this text (not the others) to NOT have an underline. However through my internet search, it says i should add 'text-decoration: none'. But when i add that in after - style="color:white" - it has no effect.What am i doing wrong?

As my PC (No2) became unusable I replaced some discs and loaded Windows 10I now wish to reload CS3 and my Dreamweaver cs6 upgrade purchased in 2014I started by loading the old discs of cs3 but soon found these were not working.I then found Nancy's note to remove these:Use the CS Cleaner tool.http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.htmlSo I followed the instructions but find that this process in not working.The progress message box statesCurrently removing Adobacrobat8 Professional (at install older versions get upgraded).However the progress bar seems to have stalled at about 4% of the length and it has been there for 12hours.Can anyone please advise me how I can get this cleaner to complete its task so that I may progress.Many thanks for you help.John
There are several annoying problems/bugs with the behaviour of Dreamweaver 2018 interface (do they actually test these things before release?). I often work on two parallel files at once in tiled panels occupying half screen width. In DW CC2017 this was simple. In DW CC2018 the file view panel automatically docks to full screen width and refuses remember if I change it to "tile". Resizing and moving file (code/design) panels is horrible because whenever I move or adjust them the contents go black, which is visually and mentally jarring. (Do you have UX people at Adobe or just coders concerned with functionality?). If I open a second file it creates multiple nested tabs at full width, where DW2017 simply created a new tile/panel to fit the remaining available screen space. I have to break them up and rearrange them every time I open a new file. Then they all try to auto dock at full screen if I move them anywhere near to top of the panel - a behaviour I find very disruptive. I can
Further to my request for help on Re: Removing Dreamweaver for reinstall I followed the processes and eventually was able to download CS3.So the programs are now installed but I cannot open them.Perhaps the reason is that as the C: drive crashed I was not able to deactivate the program at Adobe.When I try to open Dreamweaver or other applications I see the revolving ring but nothing opens.Many thanks for any help.John Hardy
In previous versions of Dreamweaver, e.g. CS6 and I believe earlier CC versions, changing the template file would result in a prompt asking you whether you wanted to update the files derived from the template. In CC2017 and 2018 installed at different locations, I am not getting this prompt. Files derived from the template are updated only if they are open in other tabs within Dreamweaver. The behavior in earlier versions of Dreamweaver was more useful because it did not require you to keep track of which files were based on the template. I have looked at Edit>Preferences to see whether getting the prompt is a preference, although it seems unlikely that one would have to change the default preferences to see this prompt.I am getting the prompt for changing library items.
