Hi,What is the best practice to set media queries for real phone size.I am creating my first site, using bootstrap, and I moved the media query ruler down to 540px which is my phones screen size (960 X 540px).When i tested on the actual phone it appeared as if the resolution is lower that 540px - more like 360px.This site : https://mydevice.io/devices/#sortSmartphones  offers some info about it.So my question is, how to create a media query, which will handle the "real" pixel size and how can I know this size?Should I create media queried for max-width 540px? How does DW and bootstrap intends to handle portrait orientation assuming the CSS size is smaller than 768px when i use the default break points?I used the default DW break points 768-992-1200 and now I'm afraid these are too large for xs devices.Thank you,

Originally created website in Dreamweaver and published to sbcglobal.net. At&t now hosts the website, but we can not access the pages to edit. Is there a way to change the page and publish in AT&T or to republish the pages without using the templates AT&T provides?

I very disappointed with Adobe Dreamweaver CC 2017.5. I was hoping the new Classic Theme option would have the option to see my PHP code in the colors as it has been for the last 10 years. The issue is "Document type" is not available in Dreamweaver CC 2017.5 as it was in Dreamweaver CC 2015 (screen print below to illustrate).Tech support has sent me the following link: Learn how you can customize the colors of your code elements in Dreamweaver. However we should not have to spend hours trying to make the code colors look like it did in the previous version.

After uploading large files on a sever and found the 2017 Dreamweaver not useful. It's not accurate uploading files. The biggest issue, is when the bytes are completed, you would think all of your files are uploaded and your done. But in my case, it will run in the background for as much as an hour, I guess uploading invisible files since the bytes have been shown to already been completed.The File activity will also display a few files it started to upload and then never show any new files or it's progress after. The same with the left bottom corner in the file activity, as it seems to have uploaded the web.config file for hours, as this never changes.For 2017 I would have hoped for a better FTP options, Maybe something that can measure your upload and download speed and let you know how long the file will take as I don't want to always be glued to a desk, waiting for files in either direction.Any help or solution to a better program for FTP needs would be welcomed.

Hi, My backend developer wants me to use a .less file instead of .css.  I have added it to extensions.txt and MMDocumentTypes.xml but I can't get Dreamweaver to recognize that I want that .less file as my stylesheet.  I've opened the file while I'm working with the site but it won't recognize it as the stylesheet.  By that I mean that when I create a new CSS rule, I can't choose the .less file to save the new rule on.   What am I doing wrong?  I'm on CS6 and Windows 7.  THANKS!!

Hi,I just started using SCSS and I have no problems created CSS from it for my site.I followed adobe suggestion: https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/css-preprocessors.htmlI edit and save the main.scss file and I added the main.css to my html file.I want to be able to see the change to the css in live view or rather use the scss in my site.Also , the css designer will not let let me add/edit selectors in the Scss file, only in the Css file.This means that all my changes will be overwritten when I save the Scss file.What am I missing here?The main reason for me to use scss is to use specific color as variable to use in numerouse selectors as well as a few other css definitions.

Hi,Is there an easy way, using DW, to reduce the default 30px gutter for small devices?I am setting up a bootstrap site and while in larger devices 30px is ok, in XS it occupies too much area.

I have everything in place for my drop down sub-menu which works in testing on shrunken screen but will not work on my HTC One when I check it now we have gone live! I am guessing that the issue to hand is that once you have pressed the hamburger to expand the menu down it goes about half way down the screen with clickables and the last choice you get is the celebration drop down menu, click on this and the menu does drop down to the final choice being the 'Make Your Choice' as the very bottom item (which is the very bottom of my screen, now when you click on that (tap) instead of opening the further choices up it closes the choices down to top drop down menu i.e. celebration stationery option. I am guessing this is because the second drop down has no where to go as there is no screen left under the 'Make Your Choice'.This is obviously not acceptable as it makes a large percentage of the site not available to mobile viewing. Does anybody have any suggestions for fixing this issue? Ther

Can someone help me figure out why my code turns brown and green midway through line 19? Even when I strip away all the content to the bare minimum, it's still brown and green. Thanks!

Saw a recent discussion here which showed errors in the html being highlighted by showing the line numbers in red.  I have two syntax errors below but no red highlighting.  I have "Enable code hints" checked.. Is there a setting/s I am missing? I am on 2017.5  I am working with a defined site and the Monaki theme. Is that green tick showing in the bottom-right corner of my screen suggesting all is ok?thanks

I noticed that, as I selected a first instance of several identical pieces of text in my source code, similar entries are also underlined as I extend my selection, as if to hint at global edits. However, I do not see how those extended edits can be made. There is a hint to press (on my Mac) Cmd-Shift-F in order to do a global search-and-replace in the selected file. However, after I enter that command, nothing useful happens.Likewise I tried manually to search-and-replace data at the bottom of the source edit screen, and again, nothing happens.Any ideas appreciated.jwc

Recently one of our clients who has Dreamweaver CC 2017, bought an extension, he installed it using Adobe Cloud Panel and synchronization. BUT the extension didn't appear in Dreamweaver. He has French Dreamweaver localization. I believe this is the problem and extension has been installed into en_US folder and not into fr_FR. Why this happen?I advised client to copy/paste everything form en_US folder into fr_FR, but client told that this is very complicated and asked Adobe for a refund. So I've lost one purchase because of troubles with installation process.What can be done in order to force extension to install into Dreamweaver necessary (main) localization. I mean like in this example, to force extensions to install into fr_FR and not into en_US folder.I've already contacted Adobe Support but everything I got: "The issue you have reported is a known issue and we are working on it. It might be resolved by the next release."  It was many patches and releases ago...What is the best

When I have multiple pages open in code view  , I copy and paste from one page to the other.  When I switch back to the page i copied from the text cuts and leaves a  "-" character in its place.  Its driving me nuts as I keep loosing code if i am not very careful. 2017.5 build 9878this the latest build i have through the creative cloud app. 

Dreamweaver 9/CS3 is no longer able to make ftp connections to specific servers.To be clear: It was working, then stopped working.I can still connect to the servers with filezilla, so the problem is not on the server end, and not with the credentials.I can connect to other servers with dreamweaver, so the problem is not with my computer, router, firewall, etc.I have a couple site definitions which point to the same host but different subdirectories. Both do not work. I created a test to an anonymous ftp site and it worked.It seems like somehow some dreamweaver file specific to the host in question got corrupted.I have tried many potential solutions, everything I found online, other than reinstalling DW as this does not seem to fix the problem for anyone else that tried it.Tried deleting the dreamweaver preferences folder and registry entries.Tried exporting the site definition, deleting, and importing.Tried creating new site definition.Tried deleting the ssh_hosts file.Tried using the

When I press space at Dreamweaver 2017, It delete the code or the words by showing me This "_" instead of "|" So, how can I change that at setting.

I was recently tasked with updating my groups website and adding a members only area. I have basic HTML knowledge but do not know how to build a database, or the log in page or the other pages to be in the protected area. I have spent all day reading articles and help sites on how to set this up, but they all start beyond my basic HTML knowledge, or the articles are so out of date that the newest version of Dreamweaver does not work in the same way as what the articles say to do. Can anyone help me bridge the gap from basic HTML to building and using a database site?

Hello,I use Emmet alot when I design and I i'm glad to see the Dreamweaver has that feature native. However, one of the commands that I like to use is - "ul>li*". That will allow you to chose multiple list items and wrap a <li> tag around all of them.How is that done in Dreamweaver? I tried using cmd+T but that didn't seem to work. Unless I'm using it wrong. Please help, this is the one (main) thing that is keeping me from using Dreamweaver as my sole markup tool.Thanks in advance for your help

I just updated Dreamweaver to version 17.5 Build 9878. It is impossibly slow to refresh or to move between Design and Live views. In addition, issues that I and others have raised (such as the cursor not centering on the page but appearing at the bottom) have not been changed. Can I revert to the previous version? If not, I'm abandoning this product.

Every once in a while I upload a file to the remote site and when I attempt to edit it on-line, I find there is a missing EOF.

I move many many images onto a web page and in previous versions (prior to 2017.*) , I used iMac Finder.  Now I can use Finder but since the files are "outside the root" I have to go back and delete all the pathnames, OK... I can deal with that!I thought they solved it when I attempted to use the ASSET PANEL.  I selected the 78 images I wanted and was tickeled when they were put onto the HTML page.  Then I noticed, they were put onto the page in REVERSE ORDER!   image   xyz.078  and at the top of the HTML page and image xxy.001 was at the bottom of the HTML page.  Now I have to go back to the Finder way of intserting the images onto the HTML page and then search and replace all the pathnames.YES, I suppose I would renumber the images and try to see if I could get a chronological insert but I didn't as $078 is the end of the event and #001 is the beginning?Oh...  You can't move multiple images from the Files Panel... Hey everyone,So I have a problem with some child elements, as you will see from the screen shots, and video that is subsequent. Do note, this for MOBILE view.I know the difference between height: auto/100%. However, one of the parents (also child) elements does not resize to the size of its parent element.As a result, one child element, a "back-to-top" button is placed half way up of the parent element, and not at the bottom of its brothers/sisters elements (same level).here is the code, screenshots, and a video to help express my problem in further detail.
