HelloAm new to Dreamweaver CC 2017, have just downloaded a Site created by a designer a few years ago to edit some text, so haven't made too many formatting changes. The file I am trying to update is the Template. When I go to save the Template and apply the changes to the child files I get this error for all of them.It appears to be within the un-editable text within the Child files.Can upload the HTML of the Template and one of the child files if someone can see where I am going wrong.Have some previous coding knowledge, but not fully conversant yet with the nuances of HTML and Java.Look forward to hearing from someone.Many thanksDrew
I have a design in Dreamweaver that uses SVG for the logo along with <g> and <path d=...> tags containing lengthy code. I wish to replace this with my client's logo, which I created in Illustrator and Photoshop and exported to SVG. How do I now get this logo into the code? The design doesn't appear to reference an image filename for the logo on the page or in style.css. Alternatively, I nixed the whole SVG attempt and referenced the logo as a jpg, then as a .png using <img src=..> but the quality was so poor, I'd like to see if I can successfully add the logo using SVG with your help if you think it will improve rendering of the logo on retinal displays. I tried to make a connection to my site this morning and it won't connect. It was working yesterday, but this morning I get this message:An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host. User limit reached or not authorized to make the connection due to local firewall blocking FTP data.There have been no changes made to my site or password from the last time I logged in, which was yesterday.Now I cannot even get it connect.th
I've tried numerous times to upload a folder from CC Dreamweaver to my host server, the same as I've always done from the beginnings of Dreamweaver. It doesn't work. Nothing shows up on the host server. The site manager connects with the remote server just fine. ???By the way, I decided to scrap CC and go back to CS6. Big surprise. Adobe wanted to end my subscription at the end of this month BUT charge me the full shot for the subscription anyway. The NY AG is going to hear about this! I wonder what the grandfathers who actually conceived and wrote Adobe software that worked think about the grandkids, eyes full of dollar signs, who've pre-empted it & screwed it all up.

Hi,I'm curious of the best way to place an image on top of another and have them both center. For example I have a nice background.png image. I want to assign it to the body tag (or should I assign it to a container div?) and have it center/top. Next I want to place a header image ON TOP of the background image and have it center as well and be flush on the top.Thanks for anyone who can help

I have created a somewhat responsive bootstrap layout using the grid system however I wanted to know whether there was a way the column could disappear completely when the screen gets below a certain number of pixels. A couple of major version back the get and put buttons used to sit on the top tool bar within easy reach. Then they got moved inside a File Management fly-out menu. I see with version 2017 this is still the case. Is there a way to have these buttons sitting on the top toolbar next to the view setting buttons for example? It's a real pain having to do the extra action of clicking on the file management icon first then clicking on the get or put when it used to be a single click.Cheers.

Hello all, I'll start by saying I'm very new to this. What I'm trying to do is make a website with video as the full screen background. As I've read everywhere, this is a bad idea for mobile users, but what you can do is set it up so that instead of loading video, it'll defer to a still poster for your background. I've found a pretty good tutorial on how to do this, but I can't seem to get it to work on my android phone or an iphone that I've tried it with. I feel like I've copied what I'm looking at pretty exactly, and its been very frustrating to not know what I'm doing wrong. It appears to be working fine on an iPad, but not on my phones. I just upgraded to 2017 and now, when I double-click to replace and image, nothing happens! What can I do to get this feature back? Otherwise, I'd like to revert to 2015. This is a thing I use a hundred times/day building emails.
I use Dreamweaver CC 2017 on MacBook Pro (16 GB, 2,3 GHz Intel Core i7, 15-inch retina, Late 2013). And the app launches incredibly slowly! It so long, that it feels as if Dreamweaver launch is something like 3D rendering. Do you ray-trace the code in multiple passes, or what? Please tell me they did not remove Design-Time Stylesheets during my hiatus from development.How do those of us that use header include files (among other includes) during development supposed to see the content in anything but raw text? Design (or Split) view used to offer a pretty fair representation of the end product while working directly on one of the included files.Are we expected to just start working from the container file (the one doing the including) from now on? That's the only way I get to see some kind of formatting.

Hi,Each div is a container, and then with a div row, and then the div class containing content blocks.3 sets of content blocks like this, and then the <footer>It is only Safari that renders the last div container so that its content is overlapping the previous div container block. Hi everyone! I'm currently working on a site and I've got a visual issue going on here. I'm trying to design it to fit the screen exactly width-wise while being scrollable lengthwise. I'm not very far into the design so things are still in the rough. The issue I'm having is that the site is scrollable width-wise and has these tiny spaces showing- as if the background image doesn't fill the space... But it should as far as I know because its width is scaled to 100% of <body>, and my menu extends into the negative space. Is there something wrong with my meta-viewport? Is the padding in my menu pushing something?I need to stop the horizontal scrolling and get rid of the weird gutter space on either side of the background image. Hope my description helps!
