I'm hoping perhaps there's something already inside of DW CC to create that effect where you click on a link and the page automatically scrolls down to another area. I have an anchor that works but just no scrolling.Does anyone know where I can get this simple effect in the SW or elsewhere?Thanks for your help.

I'm quite new to web development and I'm following an old tutorial from 2014, the guy is using and old version of bootstrap. I want to make the background color of the text different and I followed the tutorial but it didn't work. The code goes:<div class="mypanel"> <div class="heading">my header</div> <div class="body"> <p>my body</p> </div></div>and in the css:.mypanel { margin: 3%;}.mypanel .heading{ background-color: #3FE8BB;}There is more of course however I didn't think this was relevant.
I am using the light interface with the light theme the default coloration when you click on a tag it goes to white text on a light green background.anyone know which tag or selector controls that coloration? Totally unreadable and I dont' want to use the dark backgroundsTIA - Greg
Okay, so I just purchased CC yesterday and installed Dreamweaver. Program starts and goes through the initial questions. I selected start a new file and the program immediately stops working. As a note, I have followed every suggested remedy I could find.1) Lavasoft is not and never has been installed.2) GPU is a MSI R9 280X and is running the latest AMD drivers.3) ASUS mother board internal graphics is uninstalled.4) Deleted all CC applications and used the cleaner. Reinstalled on Dreamweaver ... same results.5) Reset config file.6) Intel drivers (Z68) and i5 2500k) are the latest availableGetting really frustrated after 5 hours of trying to find a solution and being in Q for support but never actually getting a support person to start chatting. I know you likely need more information on the exact version of Dreamweaver but since I can never get to the point of looking at the menu ... I have a subscription to Creative Cloud and it is paid up.When I installed Dreamweaver 2017 (OSX) it said I was in a trial. Now it says the trial is over. I can't seem to get it to properly know I have a subscription (all of this was afte having wiped ALL adobe settings and products from my machine due to other errors -- directions from Adobe forums).Now when I try to run Dreamweaver I get:"Adobe Application Manager, required to start your trial, is missing or damaged."I reinstall Application Manager and get the same thing...I uninstalled Dreamweaver and reinstalled and get the same thing...help
I have a few 3rd party templates from some sites..I added it as a site but there is no template file only the index.html how can get the same design in every page as a template??I checked in new>Page from Template but template column was empty..

I am new to Dreamweaver, but I do have a basic knowledge of HTML. I am trying to make a simple one page website for my YouTube channel using the designs I have made in Photoshop, but since this is a thread its obvious I am failing miserably . I have uploaded the PSD using extract but I don't know much about how to get everything on to the HTML document where it is on the PSD because when I try to click and drag everything from the contents of the extracted PSD it become one PNG, and when I try and do all the layers separate, they are misplaced because I would guess they have not been told by the code where to be positioned. I believe that would be CSS, which I know NOTHING about. How do I get everything positioned correctly while still having all the layers separate like I need them to be?Thank to anyone who offers help or suggestions Here is what I currently have:

I usually hand off my sites with a PDF document showing how to maintain the site, which usually means adding or changing text and/or photos. The Content Management System is thus a selling point as a means of easy in-house updates as well as a means to save money and not have to deal with the hassle of contacting the web designer for every update.However, some companies or organizations may prefer a monthly maintenance contract. I had a friend web designer who priced his services as Bronze, Silver and Gold plans in order to make as much money as possible. I do not charge for database backups (yet) but simply use an extension that emails me the database and if a site is ever hacked or compromised by the client, I would certainly charge a fee to restore the site with the database. I simply can't imagine telling a client who signed up for the Bronze plan (with no database backup) that they need to sign up for the Silver plan before I can restore their site.Or charge for domain name manage
I find the Visual Aids very useful but I've always found it difficult to get the Box Model ( \\\ and ///) to show. I've since found you need to put the cursor in the element's containing div tag, but it also works when cursor is in an img tag as in the first example. In these two examples all visual Aids are on, both have the cursor in the img tag but only the first image shows the \\\ The button in the first image correctly shows the surrounding \\\. The house image in the second page has CSS of img {padding: 20px; margin: 5px 5px 5px 400px;} but the \\\ does not show. Has anyone found which circumstances will always show the \\\ and the /// ? For whatever reason, DW opens in a top/bottom split view when left/right would clearly be more ergonomic for today's more horizontally rectangular monitors (top/bottom made sense when screens were more 'square' but I don't get the loyalty to the principle today).But I digress. I've Googled the #### out of this subject and came up short.How do I place the code view on the left and the design view on the right? I bet it's something really simple, too.
Hi, since the new major version CC 2017, whenever I search through "Current site..." the UI will hang until the search is finished, and I can't continue to work/look through files while searching. My coworker experience the same, however they solve the problem by not using search as much. This is new behavior, and happens to me oh so many times a day, since I... apparently search a lot. Our site folders are large, say up to over 10k files over hundreds or thousands of directories. And this machine does not have a SSD, unlike the one at home. If I search for the same a second time, the result seems to be instant so there's some caching going on. However, most of the time the search aren't cached and the Dreamweaver UI comes to a temporary halt. When I first tried search on my home computer, I was excited to see that search seemed much faster in some cases. However, when I started using it - which would be at work, not at home - I realized that there was this major drawback to the search

Tabbing between open files causes some really bad things to happen. The first is relatively minor: if the Find/Replace window is open in more than one tab, it will freeze on the current tab after switching to it; meaning, clicking in the "find" textarea will not place the cursor inside of it so I can't type anything. This seems to resolve by switching back to the previous tab then back to the other tab. Fun times. The more serious issue just occurred when I was selecting all/copying code from one tab and selecting all/pasting said code into another tab. Here's where things got dangerous and I'll do my best to describe. I had 4 tabs open, 2 tabs were files from a production server and the other 2 tabs were files from a development server. Each set was from a separate site in DW. The 2 sets of files had identical corresponding names. The goal was to overwrite the 2 development files with the code from the production files. Seriously.For ColdFusion (CF developer for over 21 years!) the code completion is a complete farce. The code "formatting" is all over the place and the built-in themes all suck.Should never have left "beta" as I have said before. Released way too early "just to make the cut". Why bother having a beta program at all?We were all complaining about lots of issues still not addressed in the beta for it to be pushed to a release build.And here we are in late January 2017 and no indication of fixes forthcoming.Rant over.
Hi - i'm using css in DW to make a hover effect on 4 images on my page. when you point at them they brighten and they work great but there are 4 other images below these that i do not want to make the hover effect. i'm not sure how to turn off the effect for those images.can someone help explain how to do this?thank you.
I am working on an existing Dreamweaver website and the owner wants to add a landing page that redirects to the home page. The home page is index.htm. Do I just copy the index page and rename it, and then edit the new index page, or how should I go about this?
I am using Dreamweaver 2017 on Mac OSX Sierra.I have opened a HTML page and a CSS page and many other tabs same time. If I switch to the tabs it is showing me page from the beginning, not from where I was working previously.I have to find that location once again to start writing my code.Need to get rid of this problem fast.Thanks
Since upgrading to 2017 Sync Settings is no longer available. My CC account is connected but Sync Settings is greyed out. Sync settings under prefs show me as signed in but "Sync Settings Now" button is greyed out and "last sync" shows as "none".Totally broken.
For some reason my live view stopped refreshing after I change code and save. I have to manually press refresh or f5. Also is it just or is this the worst excuse of an ide out there? I mean styles randomly crashing in live view, clicking on live screen item doesn't bring up the associated code, no basic features like converting style sheets to inline properties, and just horrible lag. It's faster for me to hit F12 to open the page in browser then wait for live view to finish reloading. I'm sick of it, I've been with DW for almost a year now, but it's just complete BS that I have to deal with this. And there aren't even better alternatives out there. By the way this is CC 2015.2 did anything change in 2016/2017 version? Is it worth upgrading?
I just installed Dreamweaver CC 2017 on my Windows 10 PC and now it crashes every time I try to add a recordset or Insert a record behavior to an ASP page. Any ideas on how to fix this? I think Adobe took an very good product and has made it far less flexible and far more difficult to work with. Does anyone know if the DMXZone ASP extensions work more seamlessly than trying to reactivate something Adobe wants dead?Thanks for any help or guidance!
