Hey, don't know if I've missed anything easy, but, I sometimes have livestream recordings that I didn't stop and I realize that 20 minutes, an hour after the end of the session.So what I need is pretty basic : keep the good part, trim the end (and yes, I can take the time to find where to make this one cut)When I do this in Media Encoder, it proposes to reencode the whole video (minus my cut), which takes a loooooong time, although it is set to "match" everything.I perfectly understand the need to re-encode, but I wonder if we could have a quick and dirty "cut here" version of the file, even if it requires to analize and reencode the last 10s of the cut movie and add a correct EOF.I suppose this should only take writing file to disc (I'm 20 minutes inside a trim video action right now, got too much time to think).Thanks

How to easily lose hours of render? Get your projecto into Media Encoder, Start render, go away to real work and wash some dishes and organize your house... go back to your computer with blackscreen monitor, press Esc to display your monitor.. discover your almost finished render is now aborted.. yeiih! Done.Already disabled Escape key shortcut to Abort, this won't happen to me again.

A lot of my work requires a lot of older formats. While I can do the same thing through After Effects I would love the option to select Straight Alpha or Premultiplied Alpha.

Hello Dear Users! We, from the AME Core Team have a question to you regrading enhancement of reporting within AME.  In this context, we mean all areas where AME sends some kind of user facing message (status, progress, success, error) Are there areas within AME that lack of reporting? Are there areas where reporting is incorrent or not completely implemented? What kind of reporting would you like to have (API, Log file, UI messages, etc.)? Are there any workflows that cannot be implemented or are difficult to implement, because there is some form of reporting missing in AME?   Thank you in Advance!   Chris    

After the 2022 upgrade (from 2020), Media Encoder doesn't import embedded captions from media files, even if the "Include Captions on import" is checked.Although it's working in Premiere 2022.When exporting a sequence with captions from Premiere to Media Encoder, then it works.

Create a visual divider in between multiple added batches.When I adding multiple batches to render to multple folders, I need to change the output path for added files, but it is hard to distinguish which files belong to each added batch. In addition, it would be nice to set the output path for each added batch before the files or Comps are added, in stead of selecting all and then set the path (with long lists and scrolling this is an error sensitive process). (I know there is some kind of facility in Preferences, but that is too rudimentary. I would rather see a filebrowser/dialog to set the path at the moment of adding files)

Sometimes you have to interrupt large queues (e.g. proxy renders) to render other things and then return to the original list. You should be able to save your list and then re-open that list later

In the queue list (or any window, really): ability to use Page UP & Page DOWN to scroll through the listUse Home & End to jump to top  and bottom of listUse Arrow UP and DOWN to move through list incrementally ability to select all and option-click twirl-arrows to collapse all the items innthe queu to hide or reveal settings (like you can do with bins in PremierePro) Thank you! ><((º>

Why does AME always start an image sequence render at 0000, even if I'm starting the render at a different number? For example, if I need to resume a render at frame 1000 due to a computer crash, the new render starting at frame 1000 will be named frame 0000, requiring me to manually rename the frames to start from 1000. This can overwrite good frames that were already rendered. Unlike After Effects, which names frames correctly based on the timeline frame number, AME always starts the sequence at 0000, regardless of where the render starts from.

Since the death of flash, many web developers are scrambling for ways to animate websites. WebM is emerging as one of those file types that works well for web. Please add this to the Media Encoder so we can better animate for web AND have small file sizes.

Hey, I am sure that most of us experienced the error that when I put something in queue and the file cant be overwritten, Media Encoder just ditch the render. This happens so many times when you work over local network and its not pleasing when you're dealing with a lot of files, which have to be named correctly. The good thing with Encoder is that it tells you in advance, in Premiere it just renders the whole video and throws it all away just because of this error.There is a simple solution for it... If the error occurs, give me the warning in advance and a new window to save it with other name, dont just delete the whole render... Or just add "_1" to the file name, save and show the error.Deleting the render is the worst option, because I have to render it again just because somebody else is watching the old video... Thanks.

Can AME check for overwrites whenever a format is changed instead of leaving _1 appended to the file name?I often export a preview mp4 and a ProRes file for my clients. Those have different extensions, so they're not going to collide. But if you duplicate an output to change it, it appends _1 to the file name to avoid a collision of names, but then when you change it to another format and extension AME should double check whether or not it needs to add that _1. It'd save me a step to not have to change the output name each time. Thanks!

When creating a proxy in Premiere, it allows you to choose 'Next to original file' or 'Choose a location', but in that location it puts all the video files together. The idea is that if I want to create a proxy folder somewhere else I want to keep the same folder hierarchy that the proxy files will be in because currently the way to do it is to create the folders one by one to keep the organization. This option should also be in Media Encoder, so I wouldn't need to open Premiere to do that. Thanks.PS: this also apply for Project Manager option in Premiere Pro.

This image shows the new exporting interface for Premiere Pro. However, why is it not on Media Encoder when the interface is more accessible than the Media Encoder‘s interface?

A great example is H.264 and H.265.Profile: Main and Main 10 - currently the tooltip says "Constrains the bitrate range and controls other properties such as compression algorithm and chroma format."You'll find similar things with level and tier.  For artists, we care about a few things right? Does it look good, and is it a useable size? But if you're doing something like, making proxies, how much technical knowledge is expected? Sure, ProRes is Great and all, but it's HUGE! If you compare performance with H.265 Intra, you'll be pretty surprised. But lets say you want to set that up in AME. The source tells you the name, dimensions, fps, that it is progressive (because lets get real, you're not using interlaced anymore), and time. But what Could be there that is useful to artists? Chroma format. Is your original 4.2.0? Is it 4.2.2, 4.4.4? AME doesn't tell you. And it incorrectly has a checkbox next to it, that would lead you to believe it's matching the co

Feature description: A checkbox either in the Video section or Effects section of Media Encoder labeled "Render Background Color". Checking the box would enable a color selector where the user could specify a background color to render. Any video with alpha would be rendered with the specified background color instead of transparent (for output formats that support alpha channels). For output formats that don;t support alpha (like h264), the background color would be used instead of the default black that Media Encoder renders in place of transparency. This mostly refers to my workflow in After Effects, but I could see it being a helpful feature if I had to do similar things coming from Premiere. I have clients who need video with alpha for final delivery, but they need to preview submittals in h264. Provide a flag in AME settings such that when a sequence in a project includes I/O markers they can be disregarded during render when the flag is checked so it renders the entire sequence.

Hi there, We often have to trim slates and holds off our masters for deliverables.  Is there a way to do/set this up in ME instead of having to manually putting in IN and OUT points? This would be handy especially when there is a large number of files to deliver without clocks/slates and holds Cheers 

There should be a button to terminate and finish the currently rendering project at the current render progress. I know, I know...but I often forget to change the comp settings duration and it's a pain to either stop and restart or let finish and trim later. That can cost me hours of wasted time.

Would be nice if you could choose the same color as Premiere or v.v.

Why on god's green earth would Premiere / Media Encoder wait until the export is nearly complete to check that there is sufficient space for storing it?!? My computer just spent 2 hours on an export, only to have it fail at the very end, because I forgot to check whether I had enough space on my hard drive. I'm sure they can't predict exactly what size a file will be until after it finishes, but they can certainly estimate this and stop me from wasting my own time.

When rendering a queue with lots of clips, it would be nice to know how long it would take. It gives a nice estimate as each file is rendering, but I'd like to know how long it will be in total when dozens of files are queued. Can we have AME pre-estimate run times on each item and then display remaining time for all outoputs?

It would be awesome to choose between different chroma subsampling settings in the H.264 codec. Often I can't solve bending issues in red colored gradients because the default setting is 4:2:0. Changing to 4:2:2 could help a lot and for really good quality outputs I would love to choose 4:4:4. Please make this possible for your render community 🙂
