Since I (and my team) are used to scrolling with the mouse in other Adobe programs, it is always a challenge to get used to zooming in Adobe After Effects. It would be so much easier to be able to disable this option.
I think there should be a dedicated button somewhere on the bottom array of button of the composition window depicting whether the idol frame caching is on or off because when you use a shorctut you can't tell immediately whether you've pressed it or not as the defult hotkeys are alt shift I is rather long and you really could have missed some of the keys sometimes...The clear button state would make a so much better UX here.Currently I stick to an option for rightclicking on the empty space of the timeline and going to preview>cache frames when idol
setStyle(styleObject, from, length) this function will go over all the supported properties of the style object and set them to the target style.thus we will not need to get the fontSize, fontColor, font, etc... from the source style and apply them with setFontSize, setFillColor, setFont, etc... to the target style. it will be avilable in a single expression function
Why is the home screen flooded with very basic tutorials and nothing else? It would be much more useful if the home screen had my recent project. I would even go through tutorials if they had more value than basic things. After Effects can do much more than just the basics in those tutorials. If there were new workflows at Hollywood and Superbowl commercial levels by industry veterans. Adobe Industry news could also be linked through events for the AI technology previews. Why not keep me updated with full-length stage discussions and expo coverage?
Hi!If you animate the position of eG the GradientFX End or Start, you have to open the footage in the "Layer window" to see the animation path. Why can't we see it in the "Comp Window"?
When Colloborating on a project, it is important to know if the Rotobrush is FROZEN or not. I request an indicator on the effect controls so it is not necessary to open the layer for this information.
Maybe I haven't tried the right combination of modifier keys but this feels like an opportunity to save a few clicks. I'd like to select a layer matte without the matte layer disappearing. I'm currently selecting the matte layer with the pick-whip or dropdown menu, then turning the matte layer visibility back on with the eye icon.
Keylight is quite old now and I think coding has progressed quite a lot to get a better kind of key. I lose many hours to adjust a key to perfection. I can't help but think in this era there could be a more elegant plugin.
Issue when working with Expression Controls / Layer Control, when copy pasting. When I paste the "Layer Control" Effect, the value gets resetted to "own layer" even if in the new composition there is a layer is named in the same way as the value was set originally. This adds a lot of work unnecesarly when copy pasting.
It'd be nice to be able to do a "Create Shapes from Shapes" kind of thing, to convert a Shape Layer's "modifiers" such as Repeater, Wiggle Paths, Round Corners etc. into actual vector paths. This could work exactly like the existing "Create Shapes from Text" function - it'd duplicate the layer (but the modifiers would have been converted to paths) and hide the original layer. Not sure (or entirely necessary) if it'd be possible to carry over any animated values such as a wiggling Wiggle Paths etc.
I need to make a lot of animations where audio is coming from either left or right in different versions. Was hoping to achieve this by adding a Stereo Mixer effect in an adjustment Layer on top off all, but unfortunately, the effect seems to have no effect when applied in an Adjustment Layer.
Dear Adobe,Could you enhance 3D Camera tracker of Adobe After Effects to support temporally stop function as a permanent functionality? It's necessary for using my Laptop computer to due process frequently. I cannot stay at home to process the tracker. If you could implement the functionality, It will bring efficiency.Best regards,
Why does exporting via AfterEffects' render queue use so much memory? When exporting via AME, memory is properly freed, but when using Ae's render queue, memory is used inexhaustibly, as it is during preview playback. This is undesirable behavior. My guess is that frames are stored in memory the same way they are during preview playback. However, the user opens the exported file, so there is no need to keep the frames in memory. Why is this designed this way?It seems to me that exporting would be faster if memory were properly freed up.Does Adobe have any plans to improve this?
I would like to be able to lock shape paths in the same way I can lock a mask path, so I can't accidentally select points and can focus on the shapes I need to modify.
Add a checkbox or something to allow users to opt-out of the installation of Cinema 4D R21 when installing After Effects.I already have a valid perpetual license for Cinema 4D R19 Studio. R21 is pointless as it only allows me to use a trial license or purchase a license. The application is useless for those who already own a commercial license. To make matters worse, I must uninstall it every time there is an update for After Effects. Quite frankly, I consider it bloatware. It useless and it wastes space on my hard drive. I understand that there are people who don’t already own C4D who would find this useful which I why I think the ability to opt-out would make both sides happy.
Currently when viewing any aspect ratio in after effect (or premiere) that isn't 16x9, it will stretch or squish the image when outputting with a blackmagic monitor. This makes editing social media formats or anything that isn't 16x9 extremely difficult to view on a reference monitor. All other software i use the blackmagic monitor with is able to do it. Flame, Nuke, Resolve. This is very much needed to have color acturate monitoring while editing all the various formats and sizes we create these days.
On windows you can do Ctrl+shift to select a group of files then scroll down and hold ctrl and shift select an addition group of objects to add to your previous selection while keeping the ones between this unselected. After effects should do this as well.
I don't know if you can already but the thumbnails have always been so small and expecially with social aspect ratios it's impossible to make them out. Please give us the option to make them bigger.THANKS
I recently posted a question asking about this, because I felt it was a feature I had been misusing. I hadn't expected to learn that it was simply not a feature at all.As part of my job, I create MOGRTs for my video team. I also update and maintain them and add new features as the team requests them. I wanted to start making use of Adobe Libraries. My thought was that I could make changes to a MOGRT and it would automatically update the MOGRTs in the Shared Library so that when my team member's open Premiere Pro, they'd automatically get the update. What I found was that instead of updating the MOGRT in the Library, it created a new MOGRT file in the Library. Now my team has a library with multiple versions of the same MOGRT in it, all with the same name, and it's very confusing as to which is the most up to date version. This is not ideal. What I propose is allowing for the ability to replace existing MOGRTs within a Shared Adobe Library. Perhaps this could show up as a new check
Quando teremos uma versão da Adobe CC para Linux?
Could the devs please look at updating the Gradient Ramp effect so that it allows for multiple colours with keyable, adjustable positions, more like how the Gradient Overlay Layer Style works? Having two colours can be really limiting sometimes.
It would be a very helpful addition to be able to replace the referenced property of an existing essential property. I could see this working in a similar way to asset replacement in the Project panel, in that a user could Alt-drag a property onto an existing EP in the EP panel to replace it. (Of course, the two property types would need to match for this to take effect.) Example use case:My EP panel has a Scale property; this is linked to the Scale of a shape object. Later, I realise that I would be better served to have the shape parented to a null, and to change the scale of the null instead. However, because this comp is already in use elsewhere in the project, with adjustments made to the Scale EP, if I were to delete this EP and create a new one, all of those adjustments are lost and need to be redone. With my suggested behaviour, if I were to Alt-drag the null's Scale property onto the Scale property in the EP panel, the reference is updated and all of those adjustment
Trying to use the lightsaber add-on and I want to have it follow my reference with no jitter, could really use onion skinning. Also, user interface is garbage; I completed my video in Premiere Pro and transitioned to After Effects to add the lightsaber effect and the difference is jarring. [abuse removed by moderator]
yeah. that's all folks. plz upvote. 🙂
After Effects doesn't dynamically apply a property value to its object when adjusting it gradually using the scroll wheel or the swipe up/down gesture on a touchpad: In Illustrator it works well though: Please fix it. OS: macOS 12.7.1After Effects v24.1.0
