Add "CapCut" Stickers, like animated hand-drawn arrowheads, circles, etc. to After Effects - clients are asking for them, and they are very handy, quick, scalable and easy to overlay on top of an image.
I have been researching how to containerize After Effects rendering nodes since last year. During that time, I happened to come into contact with Azure's App Service. I believe that Microsoft Azure's support for Windows containers should be the most comprehensive among all the competitors. So, I decided to try it out, and the process went smoothly. It was quite easy to deploy our rendering nodes to the cloud 🙂 Since the deployment and setup process were not too complicated, I decided to turn this whole process into a small GitHub project this year, making it convenient for others in need to use. In the future, if Microsoft Azure introduces other products that better support the use of Windows containers, I can continue to research these new products to see if they can be more seamlessly integrated with AE. https://github.com/theringe/winae
The Paint Bucket is an unsung and underused hero in After Effects. It's very handy to grab a quick section of a layer with the Stencil Alpha feature. It'd be really handy if we could punch multiple holes in a layer with a Silhouette Alpha mode as well. Please add that to the list of options in Paint Bucket.
I need to turn off the scroll wheel zooming in After Effects. If I am looking at a Comp window and I scroll with my mouse, the view zooms in or out. I don't want to do this, especially because I have a Magic Mouse and any stray movement suddenly zooms my window. It's a realy problem. Can I turn this "feature" off?iMac i7 running Mac OS X 10.6.2
Onion skinning built into After effects
I come from older versions of Hitfilm Express, I started using After Effects recently and just realized this software doesn't have a way of changing scale, position, rotation of masks using numerical values. Please add this feature, I used to always use the parameters and it's so much more precise to use! I don't understand why we should be limited to moving and scaling the mask by hand.
Dear Adobe After Effects team, could you make all the layers, which are imported and used in the AE project, be dragged (copied), for example, to a new folder (with the same name as the project) next to the saved AE project? That way, we wouldn't have to waste time (and nerves) and search for a file when we move it or change its name. It's as if we immediately "Collect files" of all files and fonts that are in the project. Or put it as an option when saving and closing the AE project? And that everything is automatically updated when the same project is opened. Thanks and best regards,Marija
It's not uncommon to open a old AEP with stuff in the EGP. Then, it's even more common to forget WTF a property is, in the EGP. Or at times, you may receive an AEP with stuff in the EGP and an alien with little to no human contact had worked on the EGP - I'm sure this has happened! I googled and received tons of results! So, for the love of HAIR , sanity and Thick, Juicy Burgers. it will be really, really, really useful to be able to select a prop in the Timeline and have the option for Reveal In EGP.
Instead of appending ' Outlines' to the end of every layer created using 'Create Shapes from Vector Layer', just keep the original name from the Vector Layer. Or make this an option. If we've done the extra work to name our layers in Illustrator before improting into After Effects, let us maintain that naming without having to rename every layer again once we create shape layers to remove the ' Outlines'.
Hello. Please, is it possible to add a setting with a checkmark REC709-A to After Effects, by analogy as implemented by DaVinci Resolve for MacOs? So that the color is the same in After Effects and MacOS environment. I work with ProRes 422, 422HQ. And the color difference after rendering is driving me crazy! I really hope this problem can be solved.
Hi all,I feel like this would be a great use of generative fill. Currently, warp stabilizer crops an image to stabilize it. Imagine if instead generative fill was used to fill in the edges. I feel like the technology is basically there, from what was demonstrated at Max last year. As a documentarian, where often conditions aren't great, this would be a game changer. (as would be using AI to remove low-light noise.)What do you all think?Cheers,Pete
Clearly the annual release cyclce is too much for the team. There are bugs that have persisted for at least the 11 years I've been using AE, we request new features that never get implemented, all we get is a slower version each year. I update because I HAVE to (as clients I work with are always on the latest version), but I do so with a sigh, like "I wonder what they've broken this time". For personal projects I'm several versions back - closer to when it worked (but not quite) I say focus on quality of quantity.
In the import dialogue box, when importing a specific layer as Footage, it would be nice to be able to choose MULTIPLE layers at once. This sounds really basic, as though we should just import the file as a composition, but often I have already imported a .psd as a composition and then I add a few layers to the .psd file and would like to import only those new layers to add to the existing composition. As it works now, I have to either import those new layers one by one, or I have to import a second version of the composition, which just creates more of a mess. Thank you!
When working in After Effects, it can be difficult keeping track of multiple components within a single layer because there isn't a way to define what the components are named. This makes organizing projects, editing over time and generally sharing motion graphics files for other editors, difficult. Instead of easily being able to change keyframes, each layer becomes an investigation. It would be great to have the simple function of renaming layers extend to within a layer contents.
When duplicating a (pre)composition and editing the duplicated (pre)composition, the original composition is also being edited for some reason. Ways to reproduce:1. Add some footage or add a shape to create a layer in the timeline.2. Select the layer in the timeline and precompose it (⇧⌘C)3. Duplicate the new composition (⌘D).4. Double click the duplicated composition to open it.5. Edit the duplicated composition.6. Exit the duplicated composition.7. The original composition is edited the same way as the duplicated one. Please fix this issue or, at the very least, provide a command to duplicate a composition and make it independant (duplicate it in the project (source) panel as well). CommandShortcutDuplicate⌘DDuplicate (make independant)e.g. ⌃⌘D

TL:DR - When editing text in the project panel or anywhere, can you please make it so that ctrl+arrow keys and ctrl+shift+arrow keys recognizes hyphen(-) and underscore(_) as word separators? ---------------------------------------------I use a combination of camelCase and snake_case when it comes to naming conventions professionally for most of my videos. Often when I create comps there will be variations on the end that change for multiple similar videos. Here are two hypothetical examples:projectName_lowerThird_johnDoe If I needed to make a quick duplicate of this comp for another person, this is the behavior I would love to have: I would duplicate the comp, hit enter to edit the text, push right key to move the cursor to the end of the text, hit ctrl+shift+left arrow to select just the name, type the new name, enter, the end.Currently it selects the whole line and I'm forced to include spaces in my naming or only select one letter at a time with the keys or use my m
Collect Files default save folder should be the same folder where the original file is by default. When you collect files why would you want them in a previously opened, different project? If anything, you want to start in the folder where the original project file is.Right now After Effects suggest you to collect files into a folder that has NOTHING to do with your currently opened project. How impractical and misleading it is? I've just lost one of my projects assuming I've collected files in the same folder where the original project was.Maybe add it as an option in Preferences? Default Save location: "local folder where the original working file is".Seriously, this is one of many workflow flaws of Ae. Please review your whole software architecture and behaviour, listen to your users and try to improve the core functionality in the next version. Surely motion designers will appreciate practical and logical interface more than 3d bells and whistles.
Make after effects chromebook compatible please 🙏
GreetingsWhen you copy an effect with property links, you can only change the original instance of the effect. This becomes hard to track which the original is when you have many instances of this effect (unless there's a way to track & I don't know it). I suggest copying with property links works forwards & backwards like 3ds Max where you make an instanced copy meaning that you can change any instance of the copy and the change reflects in all versions. I'm using After Effects 2024 Version 24.0.1 Build 2
I feel like this should be a very easy and simple thing to do with a piece of animation software in 2023/24... but then again this is Adobe and apparently they hate their own customers and do not want us to have access to basic features.
II think can be more easy/faster put the color labels in alphabetical order.
Please add VBR, 2 pass export from After Effects (mp4 / h264). Reasons:Exporting / rendering directly from After Effects is much faster than from Media Encoder.Washed colours and other ocassional issues when trying to export via AME.3. Smaller files size of VBR 2 pass files.
For my most use cases the Camera Tracking is working very well. But I have a small simple idea to improve it and did some rough sketch for it. The Bullseye is doing a bad job, when my tracking data isn´t that good... the circle might be a nice handy interface for recognizing but i could be much better and faster to handle when it has a crosshair extension. Two lines showing the exact vanishing points - maybe a third one for the z aixs. (the data already exist for showin the circle..) Long text - one image. I was trying to locate the Bullseye in the AE program folder by myself... but i can´t find it and i am too busy doing other stuff. What do you think about my suggestion.....? can´t be that hard to update
by right clicking a photoshop layer you can have it become a live text inside AE please do the same for illustrator files
