Feature Requests

Currently in each export template there is a setting, that existing files should be overwritten without warning. This works fine. However, if multiple export templates are selected, this option is ignored and instead copies with a suffix are saved. Please allow for an option to also allow overwriting existing files in Multi-Batch-Export.

Request for change. In the Landscape Mask selections, in addition to the Sky, add selections for Sky Blue and Sky Not Blue. First one would select AI Sky, but would be intersected to the color Blue (as such the mask would not include clouds), and the other would invert the intersect to the color Blue (as such the mask would only include clouds, i.e., not blue)

Stitching panos is especially problematic when there's a clear blue or otherwise featureless sky. Often, in fact virtually always, LrC chops off corners of the sky that were in the original captures. It's also nearly impossible to shoot a 3x3 with the horizon perfectly centered, which is normally desirable to maintain verticals. LrC will essentially chop off the entire top of the sky and screw up the perspective of the remainder. The only workaround is to center the captures slightly below the horizon so the top row has some ground included at the bottom. Oh, and a large expanse of water in the lower portion of the pano can also be problematic. Before LrC added the pano feature, I had been using PanoramaStudio Pro (I'm currently using v4.xx), which has an option in its initial Align dialog to "place non-aligned images using metadata." This evidently reads gimbal position metadata from the files, and I don't believe I've ever had it fail. But using that app involves a much slower, more

Hi. I'm loving the new Denoise feature of LR. It really is superb and love the fact that it no longer creates a new file etc. However, the default setting of 50 denoise is a little bit over the top for my personal liking. I find it creates an image that looks overly softened. So I always go in and change it to 30 as my preferred setting. That's fine. Except that takes extra steps to achieve. It would be wonderful if in a future release the Default level could be set by the user. So for me, everytime I clicked the Denoise option it set to 30 as my default. Thank you

Please send this suggestion to the highest level: I've exported many books from Lightroom's Book MOdule to  Blurb. What's missing is the 8x10 trade (softcover) option. The 8x10 hardcover costs me from $60 to $140 depending on length of my book. Even with the 20- 30% discount blurb offers me (so I can buy in bulk)  I'd be charging more than the market can bear.   On other hand , the magazine options and Blurb's softback trade options (designed through theri Bookwright templates) are reasonably priced. PLEASE add an 8x10 paperback to your options! By the way, the book module has never been improved since I've been using it (10-15 years, I bet). Isn't it time? For example, how about a way to lock in the positions of your photo and text cells? Or a proper ruler?

Love the new Lens Blur feature but the blurred area is too smooth and doesn't match the parts of the photo in focus, it would help to add a slider to manually, or better automatically, match the noise (similar to Blur Gallery filters in Photoshop).A temporary fix is to add noise to entire photo. Attached a detail of an area affected by lens blur next to in focus.

Adobe! It would be super useful to have a way to enter verbal directions or prompts to the Adaptive B & W and Adaptive Color feature such that one can let the AI know your intentions are and guide it, so it can help one create the perfect photo adustements.  As it is, the back-and-forth process with the Adaptive tool is hit or miss, since the AI is just "guessing" in a sense.  Understand?      Thanks, Eric Platt

Hello! I edit a lot externally in photoshop/nik collection and would really love a shortcut for Develop Module->Stacking->Expand/Collapse stack.

I currently shoot a lot of Bracketed shots for exposure blending, and with each shot having a different shutter speed the auto-stacking can fail to accurately stack the grouped shots - especially when the shutter speed gets up into 10+ seconds!I would love an option for Auto Stacking to work on the time delay between the shutter closing and the shutter opening again, so it is a true measure of the gap between shots. In this way I can auto-stack on all bracketed shots even when the shutter speed is seconds long. Calculate the time between shots by adding the shutter speed to the capture time of the first shot, and then compare this to the capture time of the next shot, and if I am using Continuous shooting, this gap will be only a fraction of a second, regardless of the shutter speed.Gary

Please create a function to toggle on and off all of the "remove tool markers" at once, as well a keep the current one by one editing step.  REASON:  If you have several images that are similar and you copy/paste the edits to the next image(s), by activating all of the markers at once, you can reshape the colored overlay to match the differences from the previous images and receive a similar desired result as the previous image(s).  This would prevent having to click on each marker one by one to shape the colored overlay, which is teidious and time consuming, and sometimes causes us to miss or overlook a possible necessary edit.

Lightroom’s new masking tools are powerful, but refining a mask’s edge still lacks precision tools that Photoshop users rely on. One feature that would significantly improve control is a Smudge (Push) tool for masks — similar to the Smudge tool in Photoshop. This would allow us to: Push or nudge mask edges inwards or outwards with a brush Correct fringes and overlaps manually without re-masking Refine object edges (hair, fabric, architecture) visually and intuitively   Current methods like subtracting a brush or adjusting feather are too coarse. We often need subtle manual tweaks, especially after AI masking or Range Masks. Please consider adding a “Push” or “Deform” brush for masks — even a basic version would be a major upgrade for local editing.

The current workflow for batch processing is fragmented and inefficient. Simple batch tasks require switching between Lightroom, Photoshop, and Bridge — often using outdated or redundant panels like Image Processor, Export Presets, Actions, or Scripts. What we need is a single, unified batch processing tool that allows us to: Convert between formats: TIFF, PSD, JPEG, PNG, WebP Change color spaces (e.g., ProPhoto → sRGB → FOGRA39) Resize images by long edge, width, height, percentage, or megapixel target Rename files using dynamic templates (EXIF time, sequence, metadata) Apply actions, develop presets, ICC profiles Preserve or modify metadata     All of this should be achievable without manually chaining exports across three different apps with conflicting settings and limited output options. A proper cross-application batch engine is long overdue — especially for photographers working with thousands of files across color-managed workflows.

With all the great AI stuff Adobe is rolling out, I con't understand why Lightroom classic doesnt have a duplicate finder function.  I have used both Teekesselchen and duplicate finder for years and they are ok imo but not near as good as Peakto or Excire.  I currently am subscibed to peakto would rather give Adobe my money (because I aready do).  Excire is expensive for a plugin and it does not make sense to me why this technology is not baked into lightroom.  Is there a reason im not aware of?  Is in coming?

What I would like to see - and is hopefully easy to program - is the facility to collapse and expand similar actions in the HIstory panel of the Develop module. For instance, if I have made several consequative brush strokes, it would make viewing the History panel easier, if I could collapse the series of Brush Strokes.

I am looking for a shortcut for the new denoise Function in Lightroom Classic (no DNG intermediate step anymore necessary) - it would be a game changer on a button of the Loupdeck+ !!!

I noticed there is a third party plugin called: https://www.evlaa.com/   why on earth in 2025 are we still using crappy web galleries designed 20 years ago?  Why should i need a third party program to do something you guys should have done 10 years ago? Why is there not: a. AI powered separation of a photo shoot into collections using facial recognition b. automatic generation of web galleries based on those collection names (last name of person for example) c. a client rating system that will let them drill down, compare favorites, and email me their selects d. A better looking modern design of the web galleries where the clients can zoom, view full screen, etc.   It's great to use Adobe AI to remove powerlines, and turn horses into zebras and unicorns, but implementing these other real world features would actually save us time and money for working studios. Thanks.    Robert S.

As a professional photographer working regularly in live music and indoor sports environments, I rely heavily on Lightroom Classic to manage and process high volumes of low-light, high-ISO images under challenging lighting conditions — often featuring strong blue or red colour casts and fast motion.  I’d like to suggest the following enhancements that would significantly improve efficiency and accuracy in my workflow   1. One-Click Colour Cast Removal Tool A dedicated “Remove Colour Cast” button (similar in spirit to “Auto Tone” or “Dehaze”) would be extremely helpful — particularly for removing dominant red or blue casts that arise from tungsten or stage lighting. While manual white balance tools are effective, a one-click starting point using AI analysis would save valuable time in batch edits   2. Denoise: Default Setting Control Currently, the Denoise feature defaults to 50%, but I consistently apply 30% to most images. It would be helpful to: Allow users to set a

When exporting an image with the option "Custom name - original file number", LrC fails to do so if the image is denoised using the new AI functionality. Instead you get the "Custom name - Sequence" instead.OS: Windows 10,LrC build no: 202304101834-a085245cSteps to reproduce: Denoise an image using the new AI-function (button above the denoise sliders), export using "Custom name - original file number".Result: The images get sequence number in the file name instead of image number. (The "Enhanced" addition to the name seems to confuse the export function. Should be fairly easy to parse or link back to the original file.)Expected result: The exported images should have the original file number.

Hi,   every time I want to play a Slideshow, it takes several minutes to calculate this, due to the fact, I have many big panoramas, HDRs etc.. It's been like this for years, app. it's not easy for Adobe to improve performance here.  The real problem is though: the cache is deleted, as soon as it's played / you change to another program etc.; and if you wanna play it another time, it starts from scratch again - I keep wondering, why on earth has this been coded like that? Why can't it at least keep the cache of those images, instead of deleting this right away, or give an easy option to save this?I can only export this as a video (or PDF) file, which again takes ages - and for this reason, the app is completely useless for showing slideshows to colleagues / clients etc., it simply always makes a bad impression, unless you export everything in advance (for which you don't always have the time). Also when exporting, there's still no 4K option there, something like 20 years afte

When I'm in Preferences, there's a button that takes me to Catalog Settings, but there's no similar button in Catalog Settings that returns to Preferences.    I'd like to see this very much.

My workflow for Adobe Denoise. Edit RAW image in Lightroom Use Denoise AI which saves and changes my file name – adds Enhanced-NR Open the DGN in Photoshop and do more edits Close DGN and it saves my default LR file type as a layered TIF. Delete the DGN and rename the tif. Step 6 is a pain. I haven’t figured out a fast way to get rid of the extra words “Enhanced-NR” in the file name. And if I use Lightroom to export the DGN as a TIF it flattens the layers created in Photoshop - not good.

After LR upgrade to 14.4, I get a popup stating: You have enabled "Use Smart Previews instead of Originals for image editing" in the preferences. When using the latest AI features, it is highly recommended that you always work on Originals. For best results disable this preference !!!Suggestion to Adobe: Make LR smart enough to use the Originals when they are needed/beneficial (like - if I am right - when zooming in to adjust sharpening ?) but keep using Smart Previews for speedups when the Originals are not needed/beneficial.   Otherwise, we always need to toggle this under Preferences->Performance 😞

I've resorted to multiple solutions to this BUG for years, there's no excuse for this. Adobe: I'd love to hear a *good* reason why, when exporting a slideshow to 1080p video, that contains a mix of video footage (1080p or HIGHER) and photos that are cropped far larger than 1080 pixels tall that Lightroom can't figure out that it does NOT need to *reduce* the 1080p video clip(s). Been this way since the beginning, can we please get this right. Not doing any panning or zooming, just asking LR (v3 Perpetual - Classic 14.1.1) to *first* survey the size of every element in the slideshow and do the right thing (if the smallest image is ≥ the export size, only *reduce* any images larger than this, do NOT reduce the images that meet the export size). Been using "PhotoStage" because it's the smoothest option vs. LR.   [Moved from 'Bugs' to 'Ideas' by moderator. This is no so much a bug, it is poor design. So this is a request to improve this design, not a bug report]

I'm on Mac (M1 Max with 64 GB RAM) , and RAW display performance is really painfully slow, about 1.5 s for a random jump in Raw mode.   Adobe asks me for years what to improve, and I would just like to point them to (relatively cheap) competition:Meet FastRawViewer, which displays images directly from RAW within fractions of a second has useful helper functions to quickly check focus plane and sharpness and also allows to quickly inspect highlights and shadows   In combination, this speeds up image culling to less than half the time it needs in LR. I would expect these from the software company with the biggest development budget in the industry.   Lightroom was the only tool I used to use. Now I use other tools for key processes, like FastRawViewer for culling and DXO Pure Raw for developing.

LR 4.1rc2 under Windows 7 x64The reverse-geocoding function of LR4 is a great feature and a potential time-saver, yet it can lead to some minor disasters.Specifically, there is currently no way to "stabilize" the location metadata that has been automatically filled by LR (displayed in gray italics). Editing any value by hand e.g. a misspelled City name, leads to all other fields (Country, State, Sublocation) being emptied - problematic when filters are effective on these fields, as the photo suddenly disappears and end up with partly missing location info.Possible remedies: when location info has been automatically filled by LR :- provide (only in such a case) a checkbox offering to "keep these values", so they can from then on be appear as 'normal' metadata, and be edited as such without some tricky behaviouror- make these auto-filled values separate from each other, allowing to edit one without discarding all the others. That would also allow the reverse-geocoding feature to work wit
