Now that lightroom has masking advanced enough to take advantage of it, it would be nice if we could get a simple slider or set of sliders to add blur that looks like authentic defocus blur added directly to lightroom.
When using the Angle tool in the Crop overlay, it’s really easy to mess up the line when lifting your finger off a trackpad. It moves the cursor slightly and throws off the straightening. I would be elated if there was a way to finish the line by pressing a key (like Shift, Enter, whatever) instead of lifting off the trackpad. This would make straightening way more accurate and less frustrating, especially for laptop users.
Feature Suggestion: Please make the Navigator panel update in real-time when toggling Develop panel settings on or off (e.g., hiding aka enabling/disabling Tone Curve, Effects, etc.). Currently, the Navigator only updates after an actual slider adjustment or panel switch. It would improve workflow efficiency if the Navigator preview reflected the current state immediately after toggling a setting.
I would like to request a feature in Lightroom Classic that lets us create a true black and white version of a photo, without any leftover color from color grading, calibration, or curves. Right now, even after clicking the B&W button or using Adobe Monochrome, colors from cruve, color grading still stay in the image. I want an option that removes all color information at the final stage, but keeps the contrast, curves, and look of the edited photo exactly the same. It would make it much easier to create perfect black and white copies without needing to export or use Photoshop.
The tether bar ironically gets in the way while shooting tethered. The ability to "dock" the tether bar or pin it in place would be useful.
Using Lightrom Classic v14.3 on Mac OS Sequoia v15.4.1 Steps: 1. Create a custom camera profile using X-Rite Color Checker 2. Install custom camera profile in Lightroom Classic and verify it works as expected and that there is a noticeable difference from standard Adobe Color profile. 3. Use custom camera profile on one or more images in a Lightroom collection 4. Sync the collection to the web 5. In Lightroom Classic make the synced collection public by clicking the Make Public button above thumbnails 6. Open the synced collection in a web browser using the URL provided above thumbnails in Lightroom Classic. 7. Compare color and contrast between Lightroom Classic and web browser display of same photos with custom color profile and note that they are different. 8. Log in to lightroom.adobe.web in another browser and navigate to one of the synced photos that have custom profile name expected to edit it on the web. Note that it has the correct profile name and that displayed
When creating AI masks using the people mask tool, i can select individual features of a person: hair, clothes, etc. All good. These masks are then called Mask 1, Mask 2.Would it not make more sense to have these masks labelled as Hair, Clothes, Eyebrows, etc?
I have two monitors, and in Develop mode, I keep the Grid visible on the second monitor. When I'm cropping, I like to use the second monitor for the crop preview, since the main monitor shows the grid overlay. It would be convenient if Lightroom would automatically switch from Grid to Loupe view when I start a crop operation, and switch back to the previous view (Grid) once the crop is accepted. I know I can press Shift+E to switch the second monitor to the Loupe View and Shift+G to switch back to the grid view. This is handy, but automatically switching (maybe with an option) would be even better. This would save me the trouble of switching manually every time I want to crop an image.
In Lightroom Classic, I’ve been working in the same catalog for years, and now it contains over 50 collection folders with more than 50,000 photos. Since the more photos there are, the slower Lightroom gets, I want to create a new catalog just for this year. However, I don't want to download all the old photos to my computer — I want them to remain on the server. The idea is for Lightroom Classic to have an option where, when you click on SYNC, a window pops up asking you to select which collections you want to download to your computer or mobile devices. For example: Select collections you want to download to this catalog Download all photos from all collections to this catalog In other words, pressing SYNC shouldn't automatically start downloading all photos from the server into the catalog, which can take days. The best solution would be: display a list of collection names, each with an icon indicating that the photos have not been do
Feature Request for Lightroom - 'Sync Settings Presets' - so that we can save custom preset combinations of settings to sync instead of just 'select all' and 'select none'.Especially useful when you want to paste certain combinations of settings. For example, paste all settings except for brush, gradient, radial, upright transformations and crop adjustments etc.
With Auto Sync, if I select several images with the same mask id and change one setting in one of the images, it should update only that setting of the mask on all seleted images. The same behaviour as for global settings changes across multiple selected images. eg. 2 photos with Linear Gradient "Mask 2". All have different settings. If I change the Shadows on the selected image, it should update only the Shadows on the other photos mask with that id and not all other settings, including the size and position. Look what happens with the exposure of the first image when I update the shadows on the second. That should not happen on masks with the same ID like it does not happen with global settings changes
The way files are managed and linked make it difficult to reconnect files that have been reorganised in different hard drives. I would like the relink process to be more efficient and almost automatic, jiìust get the files names and reconnect everything that is found in the folders and subfolders in the designated paths. At the moment Lightroom tries to do that, but only manages to reconnect a single folder at a time. I contacted customer service and they also agreed that this is the only possible way to do it at the moment, and that it could be improved.
I use LRC for all photoediting and photo and video organization. I use an iPhone for all photo and videography. My workflow: Take photo/video. Auto upload to iCloud. Rule in Photos keeps all in a Smart Album until I move them into an album. Periodically delete unwanted photos/videos from Smart Album, then export all unmodified original contents of Smart Album to a folder on my desktop. Switch to LRC to import all photos/videos. Continue to discard, keyword, rate photos & videos. File videos by year on external drive. Copy all photographs to a collection which is synched to Adobe Cloud (which allows viewing in LR on my iPhone), and then move the photos to files by year. This solution keeps all photos and videos on my hardware (which is backed up by Time Machine), allows me to see all my photos on my iPhone in LR. SInce they are also availabe in Photos, I can use search tools in both. Here's what I'd like to see: 1. LRC continually pulls all photos and videos directly from App
I would like to have the ability to have a slideshow that you can start from a top level parent folder, and for it to be able to shuffle the order the photos appear. for example - I have a 'Travel' folder and then albums of each of my travels/holidays contained within. I would like to be able to set a random slideshow shuffle of these photos. We like to sit as a family and view our photos in this way, rather than every photo from one trip, and then every photo from another trip.
Is there a way to create a watermark in either Photoshop or Lightroom that is "smart" in that you can customize it to pull data from the metadata of the photo (date/time image was taken, lens used, camera body used, etc.) or file information (folder, subfolder, etc.) ?
The IPTC field "Digital Source Type", which Lightroom Classic calls "Source Type" uses a controlled vocabulary. The vocabulary is at https://cv.iptc.org/newscodes/digitalsourcetype/. Currently there are 14 values. However, Lightroom only implements 5 values. The first value implemented in Lightroom is incorrect. Lightroom uses "Original digital capture from a real life scene", while the correct value is "Original digital capture sampled from real life". The final value implemented in Lightroom, "Created by software", is now deprecated and has been replaced by a variety of more specific values. Can someone at Adobe update the values for this field? Thank you.
Yesterday I was hit with a specific problem - while trying to use Import window, I was sieving a batch of 4.5k photos. After like about 80% done I missed the tilde key (toggle import status) and pressed ESC. To my surprise there was no confirmation on cancelling the choice, it simply disappeared. With 2 hours of my time. I switched to using P/X shortcuts and redid that execrcise, but it's a bad idea to allow exiting this window without any visible confirmation (a simple check: if amount of chosen photos > 0 -> show confirmation before exiting import modal).
To be able to adjust exposure by dragging the histogram and having that sync across to all images that you have selected. You can currently do this this but the + / - of the exposure (or shadows, highlights etc) is what syncs, not the histogram. So, if you have multiple images selected, and adjust the histgram on one image, and that therefore translates to a +1.50 of exposure, then all the selected images are also adjusted by +1.50 of exposure. This can be the same for shadows, highlights etc but each image would therefore have differing histograms. It would be handy to be able to sync the images by histogram, so each image selected could therefore be differing figures on the sliders (eg +1.50 for one, +0.75 for another etc - but the histogram reads the same) Great for getting a batch of images synced if you happen to be over / under exposed when shooting. I shoot a lot of sport and this would be much quicker to batch process images for a match. Hope that makes sense.
I would love the ability to have the ability to adjust the image size relative to a specific window. For example, if I am editing images at 25% size and some images have different megapixels they would still fill the predetermined window size instead of getting larger or smaller as I progress. I prefer to have a lot of grey around my images in the develop modue, so it's distracting having the images change sizes so frequenty if say I'm working on a catalog of images from different cameras with different megapixels. If anyone uses Photomechanic, you know what I'm talking about.
When working with B&W images I would like the option to have RGB curves affect the colours used by the black and white mixer to create the monochrome image. Currently editing these curves affects the image colour only after the conversion to B&W so the image becomes colour toned gradient effectively duplicating the the colour grading tools.
What. Have a true lights out dim mode . ie . without adding bright “distracting” white frames. or at least the option too choose 🙂 Why -diming the ligts or black colur arond the image allows to see the colours better. by contrast the thing that stands out most is the added white frame !! -being able to sort through image slides in the library module on dark mode without distractions , as probably was intended -when editing a photo in the develop mode . the backgound is black and there is no white frame around it . this is perfect 🙌 why can this not be the case in library mode -White ‘dim mode . shows no border. I findi it so much better \ however the white screen background screen is murder to the eyes /side note . maybe the reason for the border is to know where image ends . I find that you can always toggle betwee
I'd love if Lightroom's eye dropper tool could function like photoshop's info panel to check RGB levels. where you drop a marker on a spot on the photo and then the readings are shown from the same spot. It would help A LOT so we can check values and manipulate the settings to get our numbers where we want them, instead of having to look for the same spot over and over again after we move the mouse to change anything. please have this in lightroom as soon as possible please!
Will Adobe consider the option to preset the clipping threshold values during tethered shooting in Lightroom Classic (like it's possible in Capture One)?
To LrC software engineers, can you please add a 360 photo viewer? It's kinda a hassle for me to export then view on another program. Thanks!
I dropped in here to see if anyone else is as frustrated as I am by how virtually useless managing keywords is in Lightroom. Sadly, I discovered that the most recent post in one particular thread is... 8 Years Old and none of the asks that I read through have been acted on.PLEASE address our concerns and overhaul/redesign the limited functionality of the Keyword List. We NEED a means to reorganize keywords that doesn't require us to select a keyword and then drag it uuuup and doooown.Allow side-by-side display of the Keyword List, so that we can expand and collapse either list to facilitate moving and organizing keywords from and into either one.I'm attempting to organize my keywords by grouping them under sub-keywords. As an example, I need to select and drag the keyword Zebra all the way up to nestle under Animals, which is cumbersome and annoying.Furthermore, as one drags a keyword up or down the list, it becomes a challenge to stop at the word that one needs to nest under and becom
