Since Content Aware Fill can create a new Layer with the Fill, there seems no obstacle to make it work with Smart Objects / linked images too.
Does that make sense? Like when you hold down the space bar and right click the image you get a little menu where you can zoom in to 100%, 200%, print size, or fit to screen. But to be able to zoom in or out in smaller increments, you have to use the magnifying glass. When you use the magnifying glass and then right click, you get a meny that is like the one I described above, only it has two aditional options:It would be REALLY convenient if the "right click while holding space" menu had those two extra options too!Can we have that please?
New user to Photoshop, coming from Clip Studio Paint.I've been trying to configure Photoshop's shortcuts to my liking and have been stuck behind the fact that there is seemingly no way to customize the behavior of modifier keys. For example: Holding Alt brings up the color picker tool by default - I would like to set its behavior to change the brush size instead. Additional examples including setting Space, Shift+Space and Ctrl+Space to handle panning, rotation and scaling of the canvas. Being able to set the behavior of any modifier key to your liking is such a nice feature in Clip, I think it would make a lot of artists happy (especially those who have to swap between software constantly) to also have this level of flexibility in Photoshop. Here's a look at the modifier settings in Clip Studio Paint: For the time being I've had to resort to writing AHK scripts and setting up macros to get Photoshop working somewhat close to what I'd like it to, which took a lot of time and frus
Photoshop on windows has different screens to select the save folder for your files, when you select the "export as" after configuring the output of the file have to select the destination folder in a specific way, and when you select "save to web" it's another way, attached example:It would be very useful if it was just an interface for both situations, preferably the interface of "export as".export assave to web
Hi, We are in contact with Mike Scrutton, director print technology&strategy in the print and publishing business unit at your company, about a request of us to develop a plugin part of our software as plugin of Photoshop/Illustrator. In a textile Cad/Cam application, the designer should be able to make a drawing respecting a pixel aspect ratio which is defined by the machine. Photoshop views the drawing according a pixel aspect ration but does not consider it during desiging. Our question is if you would be prepared to add such a feature or to provide a possibility to do it ourselve through an API? Mike has more information about our project. We make many kinds of textile machines (weaving machines, tufting machines, spinning machines, ...) and we have also a software to control and to monitor our machines. Best regards, Frank Marijsse
Hello, im working a lot with artboards in my workflow and realized that the export dialogue for exporting artboards is not very flexible. Im missing the regular settingoptions and would be glad, if they will be added as soon as possible 🙂
I'm aware of the reason behind the fairly recent change in "Save As" behavior: Apple changed the operating system's APIs such that you had no choice. Fair enough. However, this doesn't apply to other platforms. I completely understand the logic behind implementing consistent default behavior across all platforms, but I don't see any good reason to prevent users on compatible platforms from optionally switching back to the cleaner UX. I'd therefore like to request an option in the application preferences to enable the legacy "Save As" behavior. Thank you,Matthias
I use Photoshop 2021 for animations/tweening, which means I frequently use the Timeline window. When I right-click on a layer in the timeline, the Motion box pops up, but every time the "resize to fill canvas" option is automatically selected. It's been this way since I started using Photoshop a few years ago, but lately the inconvenience has gotten more tiresome.(Prior to selecting anything, the checkbox is already selected automatically)(After choosing pan/zoom/etc. At this point I have to manually uncheck if I don't want to enlarge the image) I'm sure this is useful to others, but personally I have never used it, nor do I foresee myself ever using it. Yes, I can just uncheck the box so this is not a major issue, but it would be so much more convenient if I could just set it to be unchecked automatically. Unfortunately I haven't seen any option to do so in the Preferences window (though please let me know if I've overlooked it). Adding this toggle would greatly improve my experi
It's common for website and software designers to scale documents. Most Photoshop features handle document scaling well. Layer Styles applied to Shape layers can (optionally) scale when the document is scaled. However, Mask Feathering on Shape layers can not. To be clear, here's the feature I'm talking about: To demonstrate, I've created three elements: A Shape layer with a Glow Layer Style, a Shape layer with Mask Feathering applied, and a bitmap layer that's been blurred. After scaling the document by 200%, the Layer Style scales, the bitmap layer scales (using bitmap scaling, of course), and the Shape with the Mask Feather has the same amount of feathering applied... it doesn't get scaled with the document. I scale documents quite a bit, so manually editing all the Mask Feathering by hand isn't really an option. It's for this reason that I'm not using an otherwise awesome feature. I'd *love* Mask Feathering to scale with the document.
Hello Dear All, Since long time I was wonder that how would be useful if I can create dynamic point line info system as a plugin for everyone. Something like shown down below! Wish to change start and end point like drag and drop way, if you have them like more then 20 it would be easy to arrange them. (Lines could change direction and length according to text location!) I even don't know how does it call that kind of system but I gave my own name for that (DPLI) Autocad have that kind of stuff with attributes as lisp but I don't know where to start plugin for Photoshop which I need so badly! If you have any info about that please let me know! Thank you very much & Best Regards Utku
The effect of the Median filter is more like a Blur than like Noise. I think users can better find it in the Blur section.
Can you create a plugin to add to Photoshop to be able to create animated NFT artwork & export all through photoshop without having to learn After Effects or having to export using two programs , photoshop and than After Effects . It would save the user lots of time and money and also would allow people who only know photoshop to be able to continue making digital art and be able to export and create all in one program. Also I wouldn't' mind paying extra per month via the cloud subscription to have this option and I'm sure many others who are also in the same situation of being very knowledgeable about photshop ( shortcuts , layout , designing interface ) would appreciate the simplicity and easy of being able to continue designing in the program they love so much Photoshop 🙂 ps thank you for your time and consideration on this matter !
Hi, it would be incredibly useful to creators to have the ability to add a full-colour texture to a brush (as per the Pattern Stamp Brush) but have the texture interact with the selected brush colour (eg. Overlay) rather than replacing it entirely. I strongly believe this one tweak would open up a whole new world of brush possibilities for digital artists, illustrators, photo retouchers, designers and many more It would entirely solve the issue of overly flat digital brush colour and would make Photoshop the clear sole lead in the digital art & illustration industries (alongside it's existing sole dominance in the retouching industry) Background: I've been a professional retoucher & illustrator working mostly in Photoshop for over 20 years. I've spent the last 4 years recreating the tools of Leonardo da Vinci for Photoshop [Link removed by moderator] which is how I realised how much extra power this one tweak would provide
Hi guys! I'm fascinated by this newfound tool called "Share for Review" for InDesign which I can share the layout I'm creating with the client, allowing him to make comments and feedbacks in a web-based environment, and that the comments immediately appear in the app itself. The fact is that so far I haven't been able to find out if this same feature exists for Photoshop and Illustrator, or if I would always have to save a PNG file, bring it to InDesign and finally share it with the client. I appreciate the help! Tks!
Currently if you rotate the canvas with the Rotate View Tool, all the new selections will be "counter-rotated" (stay attached to the base axis). It would be helpful to provide an option to disable that and use selection tool normally with angle related to the screen, not the canvas.Thanks.
To help with making selections I'd like to have the rectangular and elliptical marquee tool have semi-transparent guides that extend from the tool across the artboard. This would be helpful when trying to make a selection without having to first draw out guides. The attached image shows a concept of how the guides would appear.
the pictures that come out of the camera get bigger with each model. however, the max size of the brush has remained the same for a long time. I need a bigger brush in Photoshop
So recently I found out that there is a way to place layers at the bottom of the group. This is done by holding the shift key while dropping a layer in the group. I was very excited to use this as I like to categorize all layers. So there is an issue when I duplicate a layer from the layers panel, using alt-drag and when I also use shift and leave in a group it doesn't leave it a the bottom of the group.
I find I only really use three file extensions these days in Photoshop. The suggestion I have is simple an option in preferences to turn on or off all the "Save as" file extensions so I can just have the three I want so when I save as I don't have to. This would be just a simple on/off check box system similar to turning "add-ons" on or off in the 3D modeling program Blender. Or perhaps pressing a number key which can be hot keyed. For example I put in my file name for the project. Then at the bottom to change the file extension with the file type in selected in blue that I could press "1" , "2" or "3" which would be associated to a favored file extension so I can quickly do PNG instead of PSD.
have a menu bar shortcuts in photoshop 2021 os mac (example Alt+w window menu)
Not sure if this exists? But it would be very handy for my work to have a function/tool that allows you to crop any negative space, down to the boundaries of the artwork itself, even better would be this, but also able to set a boundary by pixel of negative space all around the image. First image is a rough example of something I would start with, 2nd image would be after clicking one button - the crop boundaries go to the edges of the artwork. The 3rd example is the same but have set a pixel boundary of negative space to 2 px.
I think it will be helpful to create a serach bar within the Layers panel, this way one can easily locate previous named layers, specially when working with tons of layers.
Looking for 'presentation mode' in PS, like we have in Ai
We don't have any improvements in Photoshop layer system for a decade alredy. I wonder is it something that's considered set and finished and nothing extra to desire? And from now on it would only be all those AI toys I personally have zero use off. Wouldn't it be cool if we have something like anchors from Substance Painter at least. A separate mask stacks . Smart masks being calculated on the fly from input of several layers . Maybe node based something complementing layer system. I recently have a strong urge to abandone Photoshop and switch to Affinity Photo because its layer linking system , especially "pixel content" link and erase blending mode allowing to do dynamicly calculating mask stacks , as well as live filters altogether make it much more non-destructive than P
