My go to for audio tracks, and I think most editors would agree, is to put a 2 frame crossfade between cuts to smooth out any potential blips in the cut. As such, when Snapping is enabled it wants to snap to either end of the crossfade, and not always the cut point itself. It would be great if there options for what Snapping behaved like. Like a preferences menu just for snapping. You can enable video snapping, audio snapping, transition end point snapping, keyframe snapping, etc. This is something you can really dial in in Avid and I'd love to see it in Premiere.
There is the option to use the very annoying little bar at the bottom of the Effects Control Panel to zoom in and out and to also scrub and move left and right. You can use the +\- to zoom in and out, and the left and right arrow to move frame by frame, however there is no option to scroll/scrub left and right with your mouse. With the amount of time using a mouse in the timeline to scrub and zoom, could this not be applied to the Effect Controls Panel? My suggestion would be to have the same mouse and keyboard combinations to move, zoom, scrub etc. thats available in the timeline, to also transfer and be usable in the panels.(e.g. alt+scroll wheel to zoom, scroll wheel to scrub etc.) If this already is an option and my settings are not optimised please let me know, however, if it's not available, this would be a much appreciated change.
I have .mts files from a camera that have no color range flag, but in fact have a range of 16-255. Premiere recognizes them as "limited range", which is mostly correct. But how do I change the range to 0-255 (full range)? So far I have blown out bright colors in Premiere.I've cursed the program -- I can probably change the values, but I can't find the option to change the color range. Where is it hidden? I think this should be in the basic properties of the file.
Since Resolve just added Spellcheck in their latest update I feel like this is something Premiere should get on top of ASAP, it feels like such a basic feature that should be in the program that just doesn’t exist in any capacity.
HAVE THE SPELL CHECKER WORK WITH ALL CAPS WORDS, right now if an all caps word is pasted into a text will not see if it is spelled wrong. I would have to type it all out in lower case to see if there are any spelling mistakes. Also the red line has to pop out more, maybe a red box because it can barely be seen.
Alongside Premiere Pro there should be a similar app which is simpler to use for like younger people who are just getting into editing before they move onto the main application. This app should have all the same tools Premiere Pro has so it has the same power in potential but just an easier interface. Thanks.
I use Project Manager to consolidate/copy all the project files to a new folder in preparation for offline archiving/storage.For this use, I want a complete duplicate of the entire project. In the project manager dialog box, it presents a list of every sequence in the project with a checkbox. I can't use "Cmd + A" to select all the sequences and have to enable the check one-by-one. With a project that has a lot of sequences, that takes time and can be error-prone if I don't double-check to make sure I haven't missed any of the sequences.A "copy all" option or the ability the use select all (CMD + A on a Mac) to toggle all the checkboxes on would be very helpful. Is there a way to do this now that I am overlooking or unaware of?
DeFlicker (Anti-Flicker Filter) - does nothing, it doesn't work!To do this, I need to use DaVinci Resolve with its plug-in - Deflicker, to overcome this problem in the video, then render it, and then transfer it back to Premiere Pro, because that's the main program for working with video.Perhaps it's time for Adobe to make their own properly working plugin for this, so that I don't have to look for third-party solutions from unknown people, which mostly don't work, or don't work as well as DaVinci Resolve!
AV1 has been becoming a more and more popular codec for not just streamers, but also content creators and filmmakers. Video hosting platforms, such as YouTube, are now implementing AV1 as a way to easily stream video content to audiences at lower bandwidths. Filmmakers, and especially content creators, are asking for AV1 for creating high quality content without too much compromise for file sizes and ease of use when viewing. Having the benefit of AV1 video will help with preserving the best image quality at a much smaller and efficient file size than codecs like H.264. HEVC/H.265 is supported in Premiere Pro and it's a very nice codec. In fact, both HEVC and AV1 perform very similarly. However, it would be wonderful to have the flexibility of additional codecs that are gaining traction in modern media. HEVC isn't supported everywhere, largely due to their licensing slowing down adoption. Meanwhile, AV1 is open source, so it would be easier to adopt without the concern for li
In Premiere, it’s apparently not possible to bind any of the extended mouse buttons in the keyboard shortcuts menu. I understand that it’s called “Keyboard” shortcuts, but there are several standard tertiary mouse buttons/events supported natively by Windows and MacOS, that would be very useful to bind directly. Specifically I’d like to be able to bind: • XButton1 (typically called Backward) • XButton2 (typically called Forward) • Middle Mouse All three of these have their own VK codes in Windows already, so I’d hope those would be trivial to make bindable just like a regular key. I was particularly surprised that XButton1 and XButton2 (aka extended buttons) aren’t supported, as they’re very common on mice these days and pretty universally supported in apps, usually used as backward and forward. They’re described quite often in Microsoft’s documentation, including design guidelines.
In Adobe Premier Pro, the marker moves for 2-3 seconds, then gets stuck on the Timeline and doesn't move during playback.
This is how now looking a trim mode on Premiere, and on Laptop looking to this two small screens a little bit painful. Lets make trim view as an Avid MC, make Source screen as a “A-Side” trim(Left Side Trim) and make some UI improvementsThis is how now looking and this is how it may looks like. Looking on this BIG two sides of triming much more better And as an Avid, we can toggle this two “Trim view” on settings
It would be nice to use the system file browser for relinking files, not this pathetic piece of GARBAGE! Its so bad! It fails to work properly with cloud service like lucidlink, it won't even search the folder I have selected, it's just nowhere near good enough. Image removed by moderator. Please see here:
Hi, guys. The porblem I've suffered for ages seems to bother no one but me since I've found no such posts here in the Community. There are keyframes in Premiere Pro and they have handles. In After effects if you hold the Shift key on your keyboard, the handles pin to the horizontal or diagonal position so in case of moving the Scale keyframe to interpolate it more gradually - that is ease in\out more - you don't go above or below the current value. In Premiere Pro the shift key does not work and whilst the position key is pinned to the lower part of the keyframe region and cannot be moved below it, the scale keyframes float as if not attached, see the video below. The handle goes up and down from its starting point once you move it to the left to make the ease "easier". And if you want it have the same value you keyframed it you either have to use a magnifying glass and a ruler or somehow bring it to the same level visually.Isn't there a chance Adobe will introdice some kind o
When animating a mask, I’ll often need to add a keyframe for multiple effect variables at once for multiple frames (over minutes of footage).Rather than click each variable individually per frame, I’d really like a “Add/Remove Keyframe” button for each grouping that adds/removes a keyframe for all sub-variables within that group. In this pic, I’ve edited in these buttons for the Rectangle Mask and Transform groups (orange) to show what it’d look like. As it is now, I have to manually click the buttons for Position, Scale Height, Scale Width, Rotation, and Anchor Point if I’ve moved the mask and need to store these positions at this keyframe. I’d rather be able to click the button on the Transform group or even the Rectangle Mask group to add the keyframe for all the animations grouped below it.It might also be good if we could assign a keyboard shortcut to this, which would show as a keyboard icon next to that button, and even drag-n-drop that icon representing that keyboard shortcut fr
HelloI'm bluring some images using Gaussian Blur and tracking the mask path.Sometime the tracking isn't very acurate and so I have to manaully go back and fine tune.My question is, is there as keyboard shortcut to track the selected mask/timeline forward one frame as opposed to clicking on the icon in the mask path window every time which slows things down?Step back and step forward works when the timeline is selected but as soon as you select the mask path, step back and forward adjusts the mask instead.I hope this makes sense.Any help appreaciated.ThanksPaul
Note: This suggestion is ONLY about playback speed in editing, not the saved/exported/final version. You can speed up playback by pressing L, and you can reverse that speed by pressing J. But once it hits the video’s fps, hitting J pauses and then reverses the play direction (playing in rewind).I need a similar keyboard shortcut to play forward or backward at an fps speed of my choice (e.g. 3 fps). I’d like to be able to see what fps it’s playing at on the player pane and adjust it with both mouse cursor, by typing in a numeric setting, or pressing a keyboard shortcut to step or or down in speed.I can hold the right/left keys for a slower playback, but I can’t set the speed of this, including stepping the speed up or down, and I can’t just hit a button once to play like this, I have to hold the button down.Supposedly I can right-click the sequence in the project pane and select Modify > Interpret Footage and change things here, but for some reason this option is greyed out for my new
I use my mouse to expand and contract the zoom level of my timeline a lot, and never get it back to a good zoom level that I was using. Seems like the only way to zoom in and out is by feeling for it and watching the notches at the top.I’d like to see a right-click menu or some buttons that zooms to a set level in a click so that I can get back to the same zoom level every time (that is, the notches represent the same numeric, objective, discrete time intervals).Being able to work with consistent intervals would also mean I would be more consistent about the durations of my effects, rather than always winging it based on notches that keep changing what numeric time interval they represent.
When I’m making changes with keyframes, the horizontal scolling of the keyframes timeline in the effect properties window doesn’t move or scroll whenever i play the video or click around in the video timeline. I waste a lot of time navigating this pane to find the playhead or the areas around where I’m working. This includes having to zoom out and in on the timeline and manually search left and right for the current play point. Please add:A toggle to follow and match the position on the timeline A toggle to stay centered on the playhead A button on the top left and right of the timescale to jump straight to the playhead A toggle that makes the zoom level of the keyframes timeline match the zoom level of the timeline A way to quickly delete all keyframes for an effect after the current frame (to save having to zoom in and select all on screen after the current frame, making sure to not miss any tucked up close to the current frame, and then out again when you’re done)
Scene Edit Detect is very useful for slicing up archive programme video sources but ties up Premiere whilst processing - be great if it could do this as a background process.
It would be extremely helpful if all of my settings were in a single folder that I could copy onto a shared computer. I work for more than one company each year and rarely work at the same company (as do many of my colleagues). I usually work on shared computers where other users have their settings (keyboard shortcuts, workspaces, overlay presets, metadata presets, etc.), so I can’t overwrite the /Users/[user]/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/[version]/Profile-[user]- folder (on Mac).
Currently there are 4 shortcuts to toggle track lights/ - and they do not allow for a known state In Avid select/deselect all work on the track lights for the window that has focus (i.e. source or record). And they work regardless of current state of track lights (so allow for keyboard macro scripting).Be great if those options would work in PP (and they should include caption tracks too)
Currently 'select in to out' shortcut only selects video + audio clips between marks. Be great if it could also select caption clips. Why? For subsequences or cut/copy/paste procedures.
I’d love it if Premiere could insert audio edits at the beginning and end of every word. You already have the timing data via Media Intelligence and Text-based Editing, why not extend that to the timeline, the way you do with Scene Edit Detection for picture? A bit more nuance: I’m not sure what level of granularity Media Intelligence captures timing data, but it would be nice to be able to toggle a setting so that the cut points are either created at the frame or time unit level.
There are a good number of new color management settings and changed color management defaults in the 2022 release. I would expect we will be getting more as we go along. This is becoming a nightmare to manage! We need a single panel. One with perhaps two tabs:1) The overall Default options for color management settings, and for default options for various media types.2) The Override tab for clip or sequence overrides, covering the same items as in no. 1.Essentially, One Panel To Rule Them All.
