I have some scripts adapted from the FM_Outputs_CondText.jsx sample in FM10, but I just noticed today that the book is not getting updated. Seems like I need something in between these two commands:FileSource = OpenBook(InputFile); SavePdf(FileSource,InputFile.replace(/\.book$/i,"") + OutPutFiles[output_no]);

Is there a way in Extendscript to extract the paragraph tags used in the TOC? I see them in the book's MIF as DeriveTag, but I don't see a property or method that would return them.

In 2013, I purchased Adobe Technical Communication suite 4 (with FrameMaker 11) on disc directly from Adobe. I need to re-install it, and using the discs isn't an option. I want to re-install by downloading from adobe.com.QUESTION: How can I get a link to download ATC Suite 4?I have the serial number from my original purchase. Thanks for any help you can give!

I have just updated my Framemaker to 15.0.3.603. Since I would like to configure different publishing settings for an online profile and a print profile, I repeatedly enter the Publish menu/pod for this. However, either FM freezes (needs to be restarted) when I try to set the pulldown menu to print, or the program freezes at the latest the second time I try to open this menu in the same session. That is a bug. I ask you to fix this.Kind regards,Susanne

When an image e.g. icon image, appears in a paragraph or bullet, the indentation gets messed up. The source file is fine if I generate a PDF to check the results are fine but with the Responsive HTML 5, the indentation gets messed up.Examples of html 5:I have tried changing the line spacing but that has not helped. I have tried decreasing the icon image so that it's dimension match the text but that has not worked either.

I have a .fm document that I need to split into multiple files based on h1 or h2 paragraph tags. The headings and its content should be copied or saved/split into separate files.

Over on the Framers email list, a user has reported a rumor that Adobe is going to discontinue support for perpetual licenses for FrameMaker and move to a subscription-only plan, as it has with Creative Cloud. I responded that I thought they were confusing FrameMaker/Technical Communications Suite with the Creative Cloud apps, but also said I'd check here to be certain. I am creating some Read/Write rules for a structured application. I want to be able to maintain the paragraph style (like in the top of the Paragraph Designer pod) within cells of a table. This is how my structured document already is, but I don't know how to include an attribute in the read/write rules and have looked through countless websites and documents to no success.For example, when saving to XML through my structured application, I would like there to be an attribute in "Note" as shown below:...<CELL>     <Note>Some Text Here</Note></CELL>...The goal here is to complete the XML roundtrip and maintain the formatting of certain tables. The reason that this is necessary is that the first cell has a Warning graphic from the reference page, while the second one has "NOTE" autofilled, then the text from within the "Note" XML tags.I'm really struggling with this, so I would appreciate any help!Thank you,Joseph

I am sure this is an easy fix but I am struggling on how to figure it out.  I am using FM 2015 64bit.  The image below, the left side the auto number (10) does not automatically adjust its space relative to the text like the one on the right side does, that one is from Microsoft Word.  I am sure there is a setting somewhere but I can not find it.  Any help would be much appreciated.

We have upgraded from FrameMaker 11 to Framemaker 2019.Frame, in combination with Acrobat, does not produce callouts made in FrameMaker.Has anyone else had this problem?How did you solve it?Kind regards,Fred Gerke

I have a collection of older projects that utilize data (dbf files) and code to create custom MIF files that are then imported into FrameMaker books to create custom directories. The Frame version is old (7.0)  and the code is old (Foxpro), so I'd like to update the process using more modern tools (FrameMaker 12 and maybe C#). This process has been very advantageous in that the projects can get rerun very quickly whenever a new set of data is received just by picking up the last FrameMaker book and reruning the code again.  I am way out of date with FrameMaker, so I am wondering is there a better way to rebuild this process. I like the idea of coding the MIF, but not all elements for the books are getting coded - the FrameMaker books still contain the majority of styles/layout. Maybe xml to Frame would be better?

FM 15.0.3.603: Suddenly last week the book window shows very tiny scriptI thought that this is quirk of the specific book file, but unfortunately it is not. Opening any of my existing book files I see this small font. How can I get the ordinary font size back?

Hi,Using Framemaker 10, I'm trying to structure a document with a conversion table. I can wrap all character and paragraph tags into an element, but the conversion seems to stop after that first step and subsequent wrapping are not executed. The resulting file have a flat structure with only one level.I made a sample file with 4 or 5 character tags and the corresponding conversion table, and it still does not work. Here is the samples. I'm expecting elements ArticleTiret, tiret and ArticleTiret to be wrapped in an element SuiviArticle. FrameMaker 2019 / Windows 10: During an otherwise successful session of creating/editing files, all keyboard functions become inoperative. This occurs approximately once every two weeks of daily use. When it happens, the mouse and menus continue to function properly in FrameMaker. The keyboard continues to work properly in software programs other than FrameMaker. I have tried opening a different FrameMaker file, restarting FrameMaker, rebooting the computer, switching in a known good keyboard, etc. The only thing I have done that restores keyboard function is to uninstall/reinstall FrameMaker. Has anyone experienced this type of problem?

Adobe Framemaker, 2019 Release, Version: 15.0.2.503.When I publish a book to PDF, I use these settings.  However, I have never had the "Viewing" settings actually follow through to the outputted PDF.  Specifically, the Fit Page zoom level and the Single Page Continuous layout.  I don't really know what to do to troubleshoot.  The output PDF always seems to be Fit to Width Scrolling.

Anyone know where to start to create something similar to the attached? I need it to automatically flow to the next page when filled, etc.

As mentioned in the title, I receive this error when I open FrameMaker 2017: "Adobe FrameMaker 2017 has stopped working." It happens whether I'm attempting to open a .book file or just opening the application. It was working fine relatively recently, and I didn't just install it or change any settings. Any ideas on troubleshooting?

I have hundreds of product manuals that all have a generic warning (A) at the beginning. I want to set up all of the manuals B) so that they reference the warning (A). Then when A gets updated, all of the manuals (B) will be updated automatically. One step beyond that, I would like to have a script that publishes updated PDFs for all of the manuals (B). I am not familiar with Framemaker, but do have experience with InDesign, and in InDesign I would use the "Place" feature to place linked content into a parent document that would get updated when the parent document is opened.

I have added Con refs in multiple topics linking child topics to parent topics while creating a user guide. I am encountering multiple problems while publishing responsive HTML5. My questions are as follows:1. In framemaker 2017 when i publish as Responsive HTML5, only 13 to 16 topics show in side bar navigation, even though i have more than 60 topics in my ditamap, but on searching for content all the content is available?The adobe support team could not figure out why the above was happening, escalated the issue to product team and asked me to download the framemaker 2019 and use the trial version to publish. 2. This error came in both framemaker 2017 and 2019. This time i published with framemaker 2019, the Con-refs in parent topics were displayed 2 times, even though they have been added only 1 time.

Is it possible to use ExtendScripts to run a Perl script in Unix?We use Perl to generate .mif files. So with an ExtendScript, I'd like to run the Perl script, and then get the resulting .mif file into the active FrameMaker document.Thanks,Jason

Hello fellows,I am trying to make the FM13 CMS connector work as I'd like it to.My FM is connected to a SharePoint 2013 library where I keep my source files. By default, when I select a file and click "Checkout and Edit" in the CMS dialog, a small prompt window opens and asks whether I'd like to checkout all dependent files as well. I have unstructured Frame files, so I guess "dependent files" are those files that include xref pointers to the main one or the other way around.Here is the catch - if you are in a hurry and do not deselect the "dependent files" check box, they are checked out as well so that others can't use them. This is bad.I haven't seen any UI/maker.ini way to make this check box deselected by default. So I hope there is a way to do so via ES. As far as I can see, there is a CMSCheckout method that includes the rootWithDescendants boolean param. The question is if it's possible to catch the CMSCheckout event and change the rootWithDescendants value to false?Thanks for
