What the heck? I do not want to sign in with either and I get this hokey looking sign in screen

The reference pages in our template (and therefore all our books) use fonts we do not have and do not want. This causes Font not found errors every time we update a book or open a chapter. Is there a way around this?

I have to change the image file formats from .gif to .png for a FM book. Now if I change the file format then FM does not recognizes the old images and shows and error.Is there a way to update file format in one go? Thanks.

I have followed various threads on creating CSH for HTML5 in FrameI have Frame 2017seen thread Context-sensitive help in FM 2017 - map file and codeContext-sensitive help in FrameMakerand saw how to add the markers, use the h file etc.The one thing is that not clear to meWhat must I tell the programmers to call so that they get the correct help pages?someone wrote in one of the threads that they must useoutput-path>/index.html?rhcsh=1&rhmapid=<mapid><mapid> = content of corresponding TopicAlias Marker.However, this includes robohelp codeIs this correct for someone who is only using Frame?I have searched everywhere but not found the correct info to give the developers. In FrameMaker, we can use openpage name.pdf:1 and a link will be created that is  looking for a PDF named name.pdf that is in the same directory as the main PDF. We can test all the links to the separate PDFs, then attach the separate PDFs to the main PDF after that, but we have to manually link (using Adobe Acrobat) to the now-attached PDFs.  Then later if we have to re-generate the main PDF, we can use Adobe Acrobat Pro to move those manually added links to the new PDF and they work - so the manually added links must have the separate PDF names included - however, FrameMaker does not currently support adding hyperlinks (in FrameMaker) to separate PDFs that will be attached to the main generated PDF, as far as I am aware. Does anyone know a method to automate linking to attached PDFs?

1.  I mostly use PNG and AI files for my images, all imported by reference and with a border on the AF set by an Object Style.  I've found that nearly all of my PNGs lose their borders when I publish to HTML.  The odd one or two keep their borders, but I can't determine why not.  On the contrary, all of my AI images keep their borders in the HTML.Anyone know why this happens?My workaround for this is to place a very tiny--and blank white--AI image behind the PNG, in the same AF.  Dunno why this works, but it always does.I've tried using the STS to place borders around images, and it works great, but it treats equations as if they were images, so they get borders too.  Our style standards say no borders around equations.  Argh.2.  Some of the images lose only one or two of their borders.  I've managed to fix this by enlarging the AFs so there is more white space around the image.  If that fails, I move the border from the AF to around th

Is there anyway to easily force a page break in structured framemaker/DITA in XML? Maybe in the attribute panel or by adding a line to the xml in codeview.

I'm getting the sense that DITA will not worked with mixed page layouts.Is that a fair assessment?In many of the manuals my company produces the chapters contain a mishmash of page layout styles. Most pages have a two column layout but sometimes a spec table or image requires a one column layout.My understanding is that it's an either/or. Whatever the page layout is in the template file you import into DITA template -- that's what you get, all of the concept, task and reference files automatically get converted into that format.Wasn't sure if I was misunderstanding.

Hi, all.We are using FM 15 in a Windows 10 environment.We use a narrow text column with wide left margin for headings, and try to fit our graphics into the text column. However, sometimes a screenshot needs to extend into the left-hand column. Because of a rebranding at our company, we're having to move from the Calibri font to Arial MS Unicode, Arial being the only approved font for the company that contains the glyphs we need (the preferred font, Open Sans, does not have subscript digits).When I changed our font from Calibri to Arial MS Unicode, there was a message about ... something ... changing to double-bitted? that I autoclicked on without thinking about it. This mistake changed all the language settings in the Character and Paragraph Designer to Chinese(Simple) and turned on the Use Asian Composer setting in the Paragraph Designer.Which wasn't an issue, until I discovered that having the Asian Composer turned on was resulting in having an extra space before the TM character (and only the TM character) anytime it is used, resulting in a gap between the trademarked term and the trademarked symbol. In Frame maker - how to insert the same paragraph in two topics but from two separate maps?

Working in FM 2019 32-bit, structuring my document as a Ditamap with nested topics. Links are going fine. When I write a PDF, the links work correctly (all internal links for the time being).But when I am working in the FM file, I click on my links, yet I can't navigate to the clicked item. I try the "Go to Location" button for a listed link in the Cross References pod, and... nothing.(My structured view indicates that all my elements are syntactically correct.)I've got the same document saved as a Composite FM file. The same phenomenon there: the links seem to be fine, but I can't use them to navigate. How do I navigate around??? thanks

I am using FM 2015 in a Windows 10 environment.I have run into this problem before, but never this bad.I generated a PDF.As per usual, the PDF is formed correctly but FM shows an error message : "FM ran out of memory."I close FM. Every .fm file now has a corresponding .lck file.When I reopen FM, FM tells me the previous session ended badly and asks if I would like to restore it. I say yes. FM crashes.When I reopen FM, say that I do not want to reset the previous session, and attempt to open the book file, FM crashes.If I attempt to open an individual FM file by doubleclicking it in Windows explorer and opening FM with it, FM begins to open and then crashes.If I open FM and then attempt to open an individual FM file from within FM, FM crashes.In the past after I've generated a PDF, I've had trouble with, say, one individual file that I had to rebuild. Hi,The company I work for is considering upgrading to the 2019 version of FrameMaker. We would like to install it on a secure network with no internet connection.In the past, it was possible to activate FrameMaker without the internet, but according to the FAQ for FrameMaker 2019 this is no longer possible.Can someone confirm if that is correct?If FrameMaker 2019 can't be activated without the internet, what is the most recent version of FrameMaker that can?ThanksDaniel

My company purchased a Framemaker license for me and I received the link to download the application and so far I've run into two issues that have prevented me from completing the download and installation of the application:1) When I attempted to download the package using the Adobe link that was sent upon purchase, I think the company firewall intercepted the download and wouldn't allow me to install. One of the IT representatives was able to download the application in his computer and transfer the file to my computer.2) When I attempted to install the package on my company computer, I got a blank pop-up with 'undefined' appearing after awhile in the pop-up.3) I attempted to install the software on a computer outside the organization to see if the issue was caused by my company security settings, or if the file sent by Adobe is corrupt. I'm having the exact same issue with Framemaker and the way I see it, if Adobe cannot come up with a patch to allow their programs to work with Windows 10, they are going to lose a lot of business since everyone is being forced to switch to Windows 10...am I right?

Hi, Can anyone get me jsx coding to open bunch of files in Framemaker?

Had a few questions in regards to converting a DITA map to pdf with FrameMaker 2019.Trying to build custom templates with our corporate branding.On our technical publications the master footer would include the title of the book.How would you do this in DITA?Can drive down to structure/xml/DITA1.3 /app/technicalContent/template and change the master pages for the topic, concept, etc...but seems like I need to be a level above this. Like I need to set a global file for all pages that would feed the book information in the footer, perhaps by metadata or something. Not understanding this.When I use the PDF publish feature it spits out a cover page, the template which I modified with our company logo at structure/xml/DITA/outputTemplates. This is a great start, but how would I go about populating this bookTitle page with xml information, like the specific book we're working on, cover image, etc. It's like I had wanted to use the outputTemplate file as a master page that I write over the to
