FrameMaker

Hi, I am using the TableTitleLOT paragraph tag to correctly align page numbers with leader dots for any tables titles that are longer than one line.  After finding helpful advice on the forum, I set the maximum word spacing to 325% and the minimum word spacing to 275% and the optimum spacing to 100%, and I added two tabs between <$paratext> and <$chapnum> to right align the page numbers on the second line.  I set the TableTitleLOT tag with right-aligned, square leader dots; however, the leader dots change from square to round when I add the second tab in the paragraph tag (in either reference or body pages).  I could live with round leader dots, except now the short title and the long title have different leader dots (see attached screenshot).  I really want the same style of dots for all table titles, long and short, so the LOT has a consistent look.Does anyone know why the dots change when an extra tab is added?  Thanks, Emma.

Hallo Community, ich habe ein Problem bei der Ausgabe in HTML5.Wenn ich im FrameMaker 2017 ein Bild einfüge und dann das "Dokument" als HTML5 ausgebe, klappt alles wunderbar. Sobald ich aber im Framemaker imverankerten Rahmen des Bildes etwas über das Bild lege, bspw. einen Pfeil oder eine Beschriftung, dann wird das Bild so stark runtergerechnet und komprimiert, dass es unleserlich, verschwommen und unbrauchbar ist. Nehme ich die Overlays wieder weg sieht es wieder gut aus.Weiß jemand woran das eventuell liegen könnte und wie ich da Abhilfe schaffen kann?Danke schonmal!

When I start a service manual for a new product, I would like to have dialog boxes open that asks for specific information to define the variables of the template. Is scripting what I am looking for and able to do this? I extremley little experience with Framemaker 2017. Thank you.

Driving me crazy.  How do I get a table to span both the text column and the side-head  in DITA documents????

I normally insert a paragraph break, (the table title paragraph tag is set as a run, left-justified) and then right-justify the variable by hand, so that the variable is on the same line as the title and ends at the right edge of the table header.. Is there any way to set this variable to right-justify automatically using Framemaker 2015? Thanks!

Hi,I am getting the following error when I try to link a ditamap from RoboHelp 2017:"Condition indicator for domain-ui-d is inconsistent".This error appears on the FM console. Not much help available on net. Anyone who knows what this error means?PS: I do have Adobe TCS and aware that linking ditamap works with TCS only.Thanks,Ranjini

I have FrameMaker 2017 installed on Windows 64-bit Virtual Box. Times New Roman is installed on the system, but is grayed out on the Character or Paragraph Designer. The default appears to be Times NewRoman Baltic. It doesn’t happen on another system with similar characteristics. Suggestions on how to restore TNR. Times NewRoman appears in other applications.

I have a new subscription to Framemaker 2017. The software installed just fine. I didn't register the first time the software started. The online help says I can by using the Registration option in the Help menu. When I opened the software again to register it, the Registration option was not in the Help menu. How do I register a subscription purchase for FrameMaker 2017?Thanks

I defined our corporate-approved colors in a library using Adobe Illustrator. Is there a way to use this library of colors in FrameMaker? I haven't had any luck bringing it in or in finding anything that says I can. I'm hoping that there's a hidden feature that I just haven't found yet in FM2017. I'm using Adobe Illustrator CC, if that makes a difference. Thanks!

The first document in our book file is a title page.  We use the paragraph tag Title in that document only.  Is there a way to create a variable in the remaining documents that reference that paragraph tag that is only used in that first document?

I am writing an plugin for Framemaker that needs to capture text as it is entered by the user dynamically in order to check if any similar segments have already been entered using an author memory database. Is there any way that I can do this using the Framemaker FDK or Extendscript? Looking at the documentation there is no obvious way of doing this.Thank you in advance

A paragraph seems to have a set height, because any text added to the end of it jumps to below the following table.???

Hotspots in html5 responsive don't seem to be working for me.Created test destinations, both on same page as well as in sections on other pages through the hypertext pod. Specify named destination. newlink TheNameOfMyDestination (with a space between the two).Created hotspot on the first page in the book with the hotspot mode selected and then pulling out either a text frame or rectangle tool, and then when the hotspot pod popped up selected the destination from the available markers.Works perfectly when I export to pdf.But not in HTML5 responsive.Tested in a couple different layouts thinking that was it, but no, same result.What am I missing here?

Since we installed Framemaker 2017 (Tech Comm suite, actually) we keep running in to issues where long standing books, on PCs with the default printer set as Acrobat Distiller, keep somehow changing to "Web Works Rasterizer" when we go to create PDFs.  Seems to be more common after a crash, but it is behavior none of us have seen before.  We've also got a maybe/maybe not issue with printing to PDFs using print to a .PS and distill where there is a  "hanging" pixel that appears after auto-text with an overline style applied.Is our network haunted or is anyone else seen odd or unexpected behaviors on files with Frame 2017?  Overall with this tech suite we seem to keep running in to issues where things have worked perfectly fine for 10 years and now little issues all over the place.Thanks!

I would like to import the text from a table in word to a FM template. I do not want the table. I wish to take the text only, and map the formats to the appropriate FM template formats. Is this possible?
