I have successfully changed looks of topics, tasks etc,. with following instructions in the site below:[Guest Post] “Customize FrameMaker 2015 DITA Templates for your Corporate Design” by Bernard Aschwanden – TechComm Centr… However, when I save a whole document as PDF (The top tag is bookmap), the all the changes I made for the templates are discarded.I edited the following templates in a same manner as editing topic and other templates, but did not bring out the change into the PDF either.$Structure$\xml\DITA_1.2\app\technicalContent\templatemap.template.fm$Structure$\xml\DITA_1.2\app\bookmap\templatebookmap.template.fmHow can I customize looks and feel of PDF made from dita bookmap data ???

HelloI am using the 2015 version trial.While creating TOC, I want to use the 4:TitleHeading1Heading2Heading3But when I add them, the Title always slips below the headings, at number 4. I tried right-click, left-click, cursor movements, adding Title last but of no avail. What wrong am I doing? I thought it may appear correct after TOC was made, but no, the title appears last. Please help. Thanks

Issue: In a one column text frame with a side head, I'd like to align an anchored frame at the top of (and within!) the columnCreate a blank document.On the body page, change the text frame properties: Add a side head.Type some lines.Insert an anchored frame.Anchoring Position: Below Current LineAlignment: LeftNo Cropping, no FloatingEverything works as expected:Now change the Anchoring Position of the frame to At Top of Column:The frame is placed at the top. That's fine.But the frame spans the column and the side head. This is happening with Illustrator CC and FM 2017, also. It may be a bug:I create files in Illustrator, and when I go to import them into FM, I get NOTHING other than a clear pane where the file should be. If I double-click on the "imported image" (which is nothing) to open the file in Illustrator, then make a small modification in Illustrator and re-save the file, it comes in fine.FM now won't import .ai files directly - you get a grey box.If you want me to start a new thread, I shall do so. How do I have both letter-size (8.5 X 11) and large (11 X 17 in) landscape pages in one manual? I have already created the large landscape master pages. Do I have to have a different file for each large page (and blank following page) in a manual?If so, how do I ensure the page and figure numbers are correct, and continue from the previous page/fig number in the preceding chapter file, and then continue properly in the chapter file following the inserted large-sized page file?If one chapter has more than one large-sized page that needs to be inserted into it, how do I break up the chapter file to accommodate this, plus ensure the page and figure numbers remain correct and update correctly?Thank youJH

Has anyone had problems with hidden text in a structured document?I was working on a structured document that contains text, figures and tables.The document had a valid structure and the pages looked fine. When we lookedcloser at the document we discovered that there was text in front of a figurethat was missing. I checked the element in the structure view, but it did notappear on the page itself. I found the text hidden behind the figure, the lineswas on top of each other. The only solution that worked was to set the element forthe figur across both columns.What causes this and what can we do to avoid this?We must be able to rely on the tools we use. I have talked to other users ofFrameMaker 11. They knew about the issue but had not had this problem for a longtime. Is this a known bug in other versions of FrameMaker?

Greetings. I am attempting to create a command line script for use with FrameMaker12 and my question is in regards to the suppression of dialog screens when opening a FrameMaker (.fm) file/document. However, I have been unable to locate if there is an API call to set an option to suppress ALL dialogs (regardless of the  dialog) or a specific dialog ( in this case, a dialog that states a paragraph tag does not exist in the Paragraph Catalog)? Trying to install latest patch to FM 2017. Download the zip file and run AdobePatchInstaller.exe. Get one of two "Update Failed" messages that alternate seemingly randomly: 1) Please contact your Administrator if you wish to apply updates. Updates have been suppressed by the Administrator" and 2) "Adobe Application Manager may be damaged. Download and install a new copy of 'Adobe Application Manager' (hyperlinked to an Adobe site that does not have that app listed).

When I try to package my book, FM2017 would just stop working. A dialog is displayed to close the program.Situation occurs as follows:My book consists of multiple standalone books (which are treated as chapters), of which I choose which books to exclude or include in my new book.If I choose to package my book, with 3 standalone books, the packaging process is successful.However, if I choose to package with 4 books or more, Framemaker would just stop working.Please help as this is very frustrating.Stephen

So, I fired up my laptop today and ran FrameMaker 12.And a 30-day trial started.I have TCS 15, FM 12, installed on this laptop and have been using it for years.What's going on? What's the fix? What the heck?Cheers,Sean

Hi all,I have been working on Windows 7 and never found any problems with list boxes in dialogs, until I ran the same script on another machine that had Windows 8.1 installed. None of the list items appears in the list box there and there is no way to work around the issue. I have submitted this bug and will report here if there is a solution. It might take a patch to get this nasty bug solved. I did not test it in any of the other Adobe application that use ExtendScript with the same ScriptUI.Just be aware that list boxes will not work on Windows 8.1 for the time being.Kind regardsJang

Are there "cell styles" in Framemaker 2017 (as in InDesign)?I have figured out the Table formats but can't find a way to save a row format as a style.For example I have a very length table where I would like to create a row format where the text is bold and keep with the next row is on.So this rows acts as a "subhead" if you will.When the table gets edited I don't want the row with the bold text to be separated from the row that follows it

HELP - I have PDF'd framemaker files for years.  All of a sudden, I follow the same process, it goes thru the steps as it normall does, but the postscrip, log and pdf file generated is EMPTY.  I get a message that there is no data availalbe.  Any sugestions?

Hi, is there a way to save a FM13 (2015) file as a FM12 file? The contract with our client requires us to submit files saved in FM12 format. What is the best way to accomplish this from FM2015?Thank you in advance.

Issue: I'd like to remove extraneous (unused) colors.Create a new blank document.Add some custom colors.Save the document as MIF file.Open the MIF file.The added colors are still part of the color definitions: View > Color > Definitions.Is a MIF wash the wrong approach?

I work with 1ks of tables and when I insert a header when I delete the empty row, the fonts go crazy.I've shown this to FM TS. Here are the steps:1) Add a heading row2) Move the heading column names in the heading row3) Click in the row you just moved. This happens at least 1 out of 5 times.Also, there is a guaranteed crash if you create too many table headers.

Is there a way to get a hypertext link to cover text that is multiple lines such as in a box on a flow chart, as shown in the top box in the picture attached? Currently the link is only on the word 'PHYSICAL'.
