Hi,​​How can I save all the files of a book at one go rather than Shift+Control, with the help of any extended script or so?.​It would be of great help if there is really an option to save all the files at 1 shot. ​

The TOC which I have now with me does not have any leader lines and while I tried to change the way it looks, by going to the reference pages and adding new tab stops with left, right with leader lines.Now when I go to the body pages I don't see the update happening automatically, instead I had to enter the "Tab" before each page number in TOC. Hi! I have a framemaker book formed using DITA with an associated template. Whenever an opening <info> tag appears in the structure, a text label 'Additional Info:' appears in my output document. My guess is that this label is automatically generated based on something in the template (Recreating a new book with the same content but no template gets rid of the label, although this also made any <context> tags show up in the text as 'Context:'...).Any clues on how to fix this? Or where I should look??Thanks!Kat

I have just downloaded the TechCommSuite updates an I am running FM 2017 on Win10 64-bit.How can I rotate the graphics toolbar so that is is horizontal instead of vertical. Dragging it to the toolbars attaches it, but it is still vertical and so takes up half the screen?Thanks.

I have a number of Word documents that use a bulleted style. This style is mapped to a FM paragraph format that uses bullets and the mapping works well when I import the text. However, at the same time, FM seems to create a character format for every paragraph that contains a bullet, so that I end up with hundreds of character formats, named Bullet1, Bullet2, etc. These don't seem to have been applied anywhere in the FM document. The styles don't exist in the Word doc and there is no manual formatting, only the paragraph style that includes a bullet. Why is this happening and how can I prevent it? This is driving me NUTS!PS: FM 2015 at Version 13.0.5.547 (Patch 5).

Hi, I am quite new to DTD, and EDD, including read/write rules and things.The problem is, now I have made a application ready with an EDD based on a DTD, then applied it to an XML file.(I am using ver2015)The XML file goes...<para>123<emphasis><termA>456</termA><emphasis>789</para>Then displayed as...123456789However, the result I want is...123456789So I tried read/write rule...writer { line break is 1000 characters; }However, still the bad line break is inserted after </termA>.Could please anyone help this situation?

Is Acrobat Pro DC compatible with Frame 11? I'm in an office with a number of Frame 11 licenses. Sys Admin just updated our Acrobat to Pro DC and we're having persistent problems with both applications.

Can anybody help? This has been happening for the past two days whenever I try to update a book. It seemed to crash when encountering a cross-reference, which I deleted, but it still thinks it is there and continues to crash. I sent the log file to fmerror@adobe.com, and I also found something in this forum that sounded similar, but there were no specific instructions on how to fix it -- something to do with structured versus unstructured? I am on Windows 7 Pro. Thanks!

Dear friends and experts,Until now I always had at least one document open before I started my script. Now I first started the script (File > Scripts > Catalog > scriptname > Run) just after FM start. I am using a trial version of FrameMaker 2017. I find that the cursor and other keys do not work. Is this a limitation of the trial version? The document is ok when loaded to FrameMaker 2015.

For a work in Adobe FrameMaker I have to use some characters out different code pages of a font. (z.B. Griechisch and Cyrillic). In the fonts tab i have those fonts with diffrent options like bold or light. I can see also those fonts with Greek or Cyrilic, but there are grey and i can't choose them.So what have i to do that i can use all code pages of a Font in Adobe FrameMaker? FRAMEMAKER 2017, UnstructuredI need to pick up the value of a previous paragraph tag and put it on the following page, along with some symbols and text. I would like to set this up as a paragraph tag, if possible.For example, top of page 1 has the title "TITLE A". On page 2, I need to place "< TITLE A continued >" (using downward triangle symbols in place of the angled brackets I've shown here). Then, say page 5 has a title of "TITLE B", on page 6, I need to insert "< TITLE B continued >" - preferably with one or two clicks which will automatically change A to B and insert the symbols. Please see attached example. Any help would be appreciated as doing it manually with a cross reference is prone to error. Thank you.

When (if ever) might FrameMaker make it into part of Creative Cloud? It would be soooo nice to use it as part of that subscription. And add-on subscription maybe?

I'm trying to plan for the best way to single source or reuse our content. Most of our content is different but we have login instructions for our applications that are the same for all apps. That's the easy part. We can write those instructions in a separate document and use it when we build the books for each app or use a text inset. But we also have applications where a unique transaction ID is selected when logging in. How do we write common instructions for all these apps where only the transaction ID is different? I was thinking we could use a variable in a text inset, but it seems like each name-value pair is unique and I can't define a list of values for the Trans ID. We would need to maintain many separate variables? We could create an inset leaving the transaction ID blank, then convert it to text and change the transaction ID, but we want to single-source our content in case the login steps change--not just reuse it.

I need dashed lines in a table, so I have inserted them using the graphics tool and drawing dashed lines where I want them.  They look fine in FrameMaker, but when I print a PDF version, the dashes have tiny downward "hooks" at the beginning of each dash.  How can I prevent this?

I have created an ExtendScript which is used to install structured application definitions the first time that a script is run. Here's what it does:Opens a copy of a structapps.fm file that contains the required XML application definitions.Creates a backup of the local structapps file.Opens the local structapps file.Delete any XML applications with names that match the new XML apps.Copies the new XML apps into the local structapps file.Reads the structapps file using fmDispatcher, saves and closes the files.This all works very well up to a point. Where I have a problem is with the insertion point for the copied XML applications. I want to insert them directly after the <Version> element.I can do that when there are other following <XMLApplication> elements. We are a group of authors creating and updating user manuals in Framemaker, but working across to sites.All necessary files are located on one server and for authors in that location, there are no performance issue.  Authors located on the different server experience serious file lags and delays working with books.Does anyone have a suggestion to overcome this problem - to give improved Framemaker performance for all?Thanks

Hi, I worked a long time with FrameMaker 11 on a windows 7 machine.last week i recieved a new screen with a better resolution, I thoght new Hardware should not effect software so much but after seting up everything i got a error starting up FrameMaker.Internal error 11024, 24441156, 24441450, 27184949.I thogt lets uninstall the full Technical Comunication Suite 4 and install it back and it will work again.Unfortunately this was wrong thinking :-(.the new internal error is now 11004, 14348612, 14348906, 17092309.Is there a better way to uninstall the tcs4 then just with the windows uninstaller.Do I need to delete other files.What could cosing this errors?Any idea?best regards,beat
