Illustrator on the iPad

I just purchased an Ipad Pro 3rd gen in hopes of doing some casual illustrations. The program is unusable though. It loses track after about three resizes or pen strokes and never "catches up."  I'm on the most current v. of adobe and Os for the Ipad. Using the apple pencil. I've tried starting and uninstalling and reinstalling. Is this just how the program runs?  I was having some luck turning the ipad from landscape to portrait and sometimes that would "refresh" the changes but that's not a long term soltuion. It's like trying to work on an etch a sketch!  

how can i connect two open paths? the option is always grey and i'm not able to use it..

Hi! I was hoping someone could help me with this. I've been using Illustrator for the iPad for around 3 weeks and i've noticed that the palm rejection is pretty bad. Half of the times I put my hand and apple pencil down, it assumes I pinched really quick, and it will trigger the zoom to fit gesture, its very annoying and it makes it very uncomfortable to use the blob tool and the pencil tool. The "palm rejection" option is turned on, but all it seems to do is disable the touch to use tools and whatnot. Is there anything I can do? Can I turn off the Zoom to fit gesture somehow?? is anyone else having this issue? Fresco is unusable for me for a similar issue.

I've tried to create a custom project for example 1920 x 1920 pixels in RGB .....However there doesn't seem to be a clear option to then select Which RGB colour profile and also I'd want to be able to select at What resolution to work. The file seems to simply decide for me to start at 79 ppi which I would prefer to really set at 300 ppi for example. Is this possible or not yet available? Thanks so much! It looks promising!

Hello, users! I have just subscribed for Adobe Illustrator on iPad Pro, needing it for work, but I have a tedious problem.When I try to open a .ai file I airdropped from my Mac to my iPad, Illustrator (on iPad) gives me an error: "Can't open xx.ai file". I have checked the file on my Mac and it perfectly opens on Illustrator. I have also tried uploading the file directly from Google Drive (so Mac -> Drive -> iPad), but it doesn't work too.Any advice on how to solve this problem, please?Thank you so much!

Hey y'all! I'm very excited by the new Adobe Illustrator app for the iPad Pro, but I can't seem to find a way to create tapered paths, as we could with the desktop app (see my screenshot). Is this functionality available in the new app? If not, seems like something that really needs to be in the next update.  Thanks!Hillary

Let me start by saying I have been using Fresco for a while. I just installed the new Ai and PS on my ipad yesterday. As of now I don't see what the advantage is of the ipad versions. I feel like there is soooo much stuff missing that I would still have to create in another program and then bring it over to Ai app which defeats the purpose. Don't get me wrong I am thrilled to finally have something, but it seems you guys have a long way to go. Why not just combine Fresco and illustrator and or Fresco and Photoshop? Or all in One.  I don't get it? I think you should offer all the same options on the ipad as you do on the computer. Is this too complicated to do, or are you planning on slowly adding all the other features over the coming months?  Please Please Please add all features that the computer version offers. This is what will set you apart from the competition. It wouls be so awesome! 😉 Thanks 

I created a drawing in illustrator on iPad and then selected mirror repeat.  It made a lovely mirrored repeat, but I decided that I did not want it and could not get it to undo. The undo is grayed out. Here where it was fine when all of the layers were present before.  It also seems as if it went into isolation mode, or at least I think it did since the layers no longer show all of the pieces of my drawing.  Layers only show the mirrored repeat. I would hate to lose all of the lines I created. Is there a shortcut or anyway to get out of isolation mode, to undo a mirrored repeat, or is there any info on tools that is available beyond the quick tutorials for illustrator on iPad?  I am using a brand new iPad pro and a second generation pencil. Hi leute, Ich habe folgendes Problem:Manchmal wenn ich eine Schnittmaske erstelle, kommt was viel kleineres raus, als was ich eigentlich haben will. Die Schwarze Fläche auf dem Bild ( panda Kopf) ist nur ein Pfad. Wenn ich aber dann auf Schnittmaske erstellen drücke, kommt ein ganz kleines Objekt. Warum? Was mache ich falsch? Hallo Leute, ich möchte eine Vektorgrafik von einem panda als Schnittmaskenfläche für ein Bild benutzen. Dafür brauche ich die Fläche des Pandas und quasi einen Pfad. Wenn ich zusammengesetzen Pfad erstellen wähle, enstehen löcher in der Grafik, sodass die spätere Schnittmaske auch löscher hat. Wenn ich über den Pathfinder vereinen wähle enstehen auch Löscher.Gibt es da eine Lösung und kann man hierbei jemand weiterhelfen?Ich danke euch im vorraus. 

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but my artwork won't export to any format. I get an error saying it can't export image. Is it the size of the image? I made sure it wasn't the software because I tested it out on a previous artwork in the program and it exported just fine. I've been at it for hours please help.

I have iPad Pro 2nd gen and really love having illustrator on the iPad and an impressed with the functionality it offers so far. BUT I am having an issue with lag when typing and can't find similar complaints in the community, so maybe it's just me? - I am using multiple layers (roughly 7)- My work is less illustration and more basic shapes and lots of type. I'm effectively using Illustrator as an alterntive to inDesign for the project. At first typing was pretty normal but it didn't take long to start lagging. It takes a while to select text - when I double tap existing text to highlight all it takes maybe 10 seconds to highlight. When I finishing typing a few words I have to wait about 15 - 20 seconds for the typing to catch up. Pretty unusable! So far I am writing what I need in notes, then copying and pasting to Illustrator. Everything else is pretty speedy, though. Just typing. When I turn the iPad on and off again it's better for a few minutes then starts lagging a

Hi I just recently downloaded the illustrator app on the iPad and am trying to figure out how to export with a transparent background. I'm used to doing this through the desktop version but no longer have my laptop. My client is after a scalable logo that can be used as a watermark as well. i used to export the selection (logo) as a PNG but I can't find out how on the ipadthanks 

Hello, I can't find where to change the colorimetric profile on illustrator for iPad. I can see in the Info menu that my work is saved in RBG but I don't have the possibility to change it to CMJN. I thought the option was available on desktop. Is there a way to make my work CMJN without starting over?Thanks a lot

I have just recently started using Ai for iPad (LOVING IT!). and I have accumulated a fair amount of drawings. The problem I am having is that it doesn't seem to sync with Creative Cloud storage. The only way I have found to share files with either Behance or to edit in Illustrator is a laborious process. How do I find my AiPad drawing with my desktop computer?

Create a large text area then attempt to edit it, the canvas zooms out to a small percentage and you have to zoom in to edit the text.  The canvas should remain at the same zoom percentage while editing text.

Can someone explain why dragging to make a selection that includes a text element results in a large window area being highlighted/selected? See screen capture from iPad

When I'm working with the Blob Brush in Illustrator for iPad, the pressure sensitivity is randomly not working. Some strokes will just be a consistent width, regardless of how much pressure I'm putting on the Apple Pencil, making illustrating really challenging. It's really weird, because it seems to happen in certain spots, and the only way to get it to start working again is to make another stroke in a different place and try again in the spot I want to make a mark. This is clearly a bug, unless I'm having a hardware issue. But I'm leaning towards a bug because I'm not encountering any issues in other drawing programs on my iPad. Just want to see if others are experiencing this too.

Hi! I am looking at purchasing an ipad pro.  What is the dirrence between fresco and illustrator on the Ipad? Also how much sotrage do I need to run both of these apps?

I have been working on a vector drawing for sometime now on my iPad Pro on illustrator. Now for some reason my image is frozen. I can't zoom in or out, I can't tap on it and I can't draw on it. none of the layers are locked. I can still touch all the tools on the edge but not my image. Any idea what's wrong?
