Was watching Adobe Max on demand about the new AI on iPad, and the guy showed that you can draw a (curve) path with the pencil tool, and then drag a text to that path so the text will live on the (curve) path. It doesn't work! Nothing happens when I drag my text to the path (see attached image). Any ideas why?
Hi I am very new to illustrator and am using the new iPad version. I am tracing a drawing using the pen tool. However I can't seem to work out how to close or stop a line and then move to a different section without it creating a line between my last point and my new one. Does that make sense? How do I deselect or move away to work on a new area?I have tried clicking out and then back into the pen tool but that reshows/highlights my previous lines to start from there again.thanksRachel
Illustrator on iPad. Can't believe this is so difficult but even google not coming up with an answer. How do I fill an area? There's no paint bucket and the gestures that work on other adobe apps do nothing on illustrator. Many thanks.

Has the Image Trace feature been added? I can't seem to locate it. I thought an earlier demo of the app showed similar functionality.
Is there an export option similiar to AdobeFresco that allows a time lapse video to be shared from Adobe Illustrator on iPad?
Just getting to grips with Illustrator for iPad.It would be helpful if the name of the swatch selected was displayed in the Color selection on the left, or in the Properties popout on the right, not just an on-screen colour. It's useful to be able to see if I've selected an RGB, CMYK or Spot, even if they look the same on-screen.
Hi, and thank you for the long expected illustrator for iPad.I looked around and didn't find a shortcut/gesture to deselect anythind, especially after using the pencil tool, does anyone know how to do that?In the pencil tool on the desktop version, there is an option to choose whether you want to keep last drawn line selected, or to keep it unselected. Is there a way to do that on the iPad?thanksGidon
Is it possible to name layers and artboards on Illustrator for iPad? I imagine it must be as I've seen both named in demo materials, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it. I feel like I'm overlooking something simple here.
I managed to do the top path, but the bottom won't attach. I tried the selection tool and then going to the text path tool and it's Not highlighted. How do I get the bottom text to path as a left to right? Not as an upside down?
Is there a trick to rename layers in Illustrator for the iPad?
I'm not sure what this means, I have the full creative cloud package as an individual there is nobody who could act as an administrator other than myself. does anyone know how I can solve this issue?
How do i create a guide in Illustrator on the iPad?I only see the option to show guides but how do i create a guide?
I'm excitedly using the new app and it's been pretty seamless for making small icons for my packaging labels. However I started a file on the ipad, made my icon, but ideally, I'd like to copy that icon into a file housed on my Google Drive (which I can open in the app just fine). I didn't think to open that drive file to start my work initially. I didn't know if this functionality, to copy and paste between files, was available yet.
So I'm new to illustrator on the iPad of course because it just came out yesterday. I've worked with adobe illustrator before on my laptop and nearly all the tools available there aren't available on the taskbar on the app. I was wondering if they're available yet? If so how to i add them to my toolbar? If we could add all those tools in and add the drop menu where you can choose which setup you'd like (essential etc.) so it's more similar to the pc version it'd be ideal. Thank you so much! I'm a graphic design student who loves this program and all it's capabilities but would find it easier to use on my iPad than with a mouse/trackpad on my laptop.
