“In design cannot complete the auto-style workflow:- “try again later” This message is driving me up the wall and I'm sure there must be a simple solution. Any help please!

Hi! Once I've closed Indesign and reopened my project, my new text addition had no hypenation, and then when I tried to set it up again, the whole thing never came back.  I'm using Spanish dictionary and Hypenation is set to 'on' in my paragraph (applied on the text) style. 

Hi gang, Do you happen to know if InDesign 2025 supports certain PDF element tags? Have they improved/added on the following tags? Part  Code  Formula   Annot  BibEntry  Quote  BlockQuote (If this question sounds familiar, yes, I have asked this question every couple of years.) Last time I tested, the above tags were not directly supported in InDesign. Has that improved with the release of the InDesign 2025 version?

Hi, I cannot install InDesign in my Lenovo laptop (Snapdragon). Creative Cloud says it is not compatible. Then I try to install it on my former laptop, which I used to work on InDesign in the past, and I cannot install it neither because it has 4Go RAM only (but I did have InDesign on this laptop). Can anyone help me to find:- A compatible version for a Lenovo with Snapdragon- AND/OR a compatible version for 4Go RAM (CS6 or other) I am paying for it so I need to use it. Thank you in advance!

I have an unexplainable text gap and I've tried everything I can think of to fix it. When I back space from "Hellier" it just adds that word to the "before" section and retains the gap, so there don't seem to be any stray characters. I have text wrap on around an image above this, but the two sentences above seem to have no problem. I've been unable to detect the existence of any phantom blocks or objects. Help, please, this is driving me nuts and it's a short drive. 

Having a new issue adding fonts:I "add family" to activate fonts on the Adobe fonts website. Then I go to the Creative Cloud Fonts app, and the added fonts pane is blank. When I go back to the fonts website, it says the fonts are activated. The fonts don't show up in the fonts pane in Indesign. I tried turning off auto-activation and adding them when I open a doc, I've signed in and out of my account, I re-installed Creative Cloud. Nothing works. This started happening after updating my mac to Sequoia 15.7. Using Indesign 2025. Hard to work when you don't have the fonts you need. 

Am using CJK InDesign via Ken Lunde method -- have all the settings, but I can't figure out how to literally add the ruby characters to character. (Maybe hidden since I still have English UI?) Have looked in Character palette, story editor, under menus, but I'm stumped. Can import text that has Ruby included, but need to edit. Any help appreciated.  

I've figured out how to add lines directly underneath text by editing paragraph styles...but I'm trying to get a horizontal line to sit in the middle of two lines of text. Is there any way to do this or do I have to add each line manually?

I have an issue with InDesign 2025.I have a pdf with a dashed line in my document, it is being displayed it properly all along, but when I export the whole document as pdf (both interactive and print), the spacing between the dashes randomly changes. What can be done about this? Thank you!

Hello! Since updating to InDesign 2025 (v20.5), the behavior of scaling objects proportionally with the Shift key has changed. In previous versions, holding Shift while dragging a corner handle would keep the proportions. Now, proportions are kept by default, and pressing Shift breaks them. I don’t use any antivirus or custom keyboard layout. I’ve read that this issue can sometimes be related to third-party software such as antivirus tools, but that’s not the case here.Do you know if there’s a solution? Thanks!

Hi there,   Ive just got a new laptop and upgraded version of ID.   When Im bringing in high res photos into indesign they look pixelated even though I have it in high quality display. I'm a high school teacher teaching (due to COVID) half of my kids at home and half in the classroom, simultaneaously. I wear a headset and teach the ones at home through a Zoom meeting while the kids in the classroom listen and watch what I'm doing on a big screen. Challenging, to say the least. I just started teaching InDesign and have noticed a weird bug: when I'm sharing my screen, the content grabber does not appear on any of my graphic frames. I can still move the content (the pointer turns to a hand when it's in the middle of the frame) but there's no visible donut. This is an issue when I'm teaching kids who have never used InDesign and are watching my workspace as an example. I've scoured the internet and cannot find anyone else having this issue. Btw, I've looked in View > Extras and "show content grabber" is not available (only "hide" is available). Any suggestions?

Hello!  Does anyone have tips on how to fix an InDesign file that keeps crashing when you view certain pages? Every time I get to between pages 112 and 117 in this attached file, it crashes. Then the only way to get it to reopen is to 1. not send a report,2. not have InDesign recover the file3. open the file anew. It's been a few weeks since I last really worked on this file, but I do recall there being certain times when magically I could look at those pages and edit them. Posting now because it's only crashing now, no grace period where the file works smoothly. Is there overset text that's doing this? Something else? I'd be grateful for any help! Thanks so much!

Indesign was working fine last week. All of a sudden it's crashing every time I try to create a new file. When I place images in my indesign file, they show up with noise or black. I have checked the original files, and tried saving them as new files as well. My initial document also has placed images that are previewing correctly. However, post the 200dth page, they are showing up as black or with noise like they are corrupt. I have checked the original files. Please see below screenshot.

 For example, “Außertextliches Element” (German) only exports correctly from a German InDesign. Exporting the same tagged file from an English InDesign makes the artifacts visible in PAC, even though other tags (H1, H2, etc.) work consistently across all language versions. Steps to reproduce:In InDesign with the UI set to English, tag an element as Artifact.→ Exports correctly, artifact is hidden in PAC.In the German version of InDesign, the equivalent tag is “Außertextliches Element.”Apply this German tag, then export the PDF from the English version of InDesign.Check the PDF with PAC → the artifact becomes visible. Observed behavior:When artifact tags are applied in German but exported from English InDesign, the elements are visible in PAC instead of hidden.Artifact tags behave inconsistently between language versions. Expected behavior:Artifact tagging should behave consistently across all InDesign UI languages, the same way structural tags (H1, H2, H3, etc.) alr

I'm working on a picture book and placing PSD images to my InDesign file. I moved the folder of PSD images to a different folder. One of my images deleted on its own, without error to relink, and the other images are fine where I expected to relink. Now I'm unable to add any of those PSD images to my InDesign work—I drag the image from the folder and it's not placing into InDesign, however there are pre-flight panel errors showing up and wanting me to relink. What could have went wrong and how do I fix it? (I am not a designer pro so please give basic termed suggestions, TIA).
