(Usually, I double click on that small square to shrink it.Now I want to implement it with code.)The framework is suitable for the content (sel [i]. fit (FitOptions. FAME-TO-CONNECT); ）It seems to have no effect on width.I guess this involves two steps:Firstly, set the text frame to automatically adjust to: height and width, without line breaks.Secondly, set the text frame to automatically adjust to 'none'.I don't know, is this safe?or , Is there still a better idea? 

InDesign 21.6, MacOS Tahoe 26.7.1 I have Pantone swatches in my InDesign ranging from 100C-7771C, so roughly 6,000 or so. Perhaps that is the problem right there, I’m not sure. When customizing seemingly any color in a Table Style, Table Border eg, my swatches display from 100C-4270. This leaves thousands of swatches missing and means any new swatch that I add, since they default to the bottom, do not show up. A workaround to this are to move a new swatch all the way up to the top which is incredibly tedious when I have thousands of swatches to scroll past. You can also sort by name or swatch value which will change the list but still only show a set amount.  I’ve refrained from making a UserVoice as it may be uncommon to have thousands of swatches.. but interested to see if anyone else sees this behavior.  

I always mistakenly believed that appliedObjectStyle included fillColor.For example, I want to achieve the effect of a pipette drawing a pattern.There are two objects, A and B. I want to quickly copy the fillColor, stroke, and shadow of A to B, but I noticed that they overlap each other.How to prevent the color filling and effects from overlapping?var d = app.activeDocument;var item = d.selection[0];var sel = d.selection;sel[1].fillColor = sel[0].fillColor;sel[1].appliedObjectStyle = sel[0].appliedObjectStyle;This sentence doesn't seem to work either.sel[1].appliedObjectStyle = sel[0].appliedObjectStyle; 

When using Keep Options to disallow widows in InDesign, paragraphs will randomly break in the middle of pages. I've been following the correct instructions for disallowing widows—keeping lines together at the start and end of paragraphs with 1 line at the start and 2 at the end (I’ve also tried this with 2 lines at the start, but that doesn’t help the issue). When the breaks fall in the middle of pages, there’s nothing that I can do to fix it. I’ve tried adding a return after the broken paragraph to see if that will help it to move to the correct page, but it doesn’t work. I’ve also tried lengthening and shortening the text box, and that doesn’t work either. Also, weirdly, this only happens with some documents, not all. Is this a glitch, and if so, what can be done to fix it?

Over the past few days I've been looking into methods to either set up, generate or manage restaurant menus variably. One of my clients is a hospitality group that owns a few different restaurants, most of which I designed the menus for. However they often simultaneously update their menus and prices for all locations which results in quite a laborious proces that leaves a lot of room for human error. This because theres multiple variants of the same menu in use at different shapes and sizes. (For instance within the restaurant, outdoors on the wall, in front of the restaurant in a display, some have menu's behind the counters etc.) Which makes it quite easy to miss a value or some textual tweak. What I would ideally like to do is hand the restaurant managers an excel sheet that follows a specific format and based off of this generate the individual menus or change details where need be. (for instance containing: menu item, title, type, price, description, etc.) I've bee

I think this might be a problem related to text wrap, because I previously put a block of text with text wrap and now apparently doesn’t have it (even though it does). So when I check for this text box (image below) it has no text wrap either but that might not be the case. There’s no appearance panel so I’m not sure how I should check this. 

Olá! Criei um link de Compartilhar para revisão no InDesign e recebi comentários de outras pessoas. Depois, criei uma revisão em uma cópia do documento e excluí o segundo link. Desde então, o link original apresenta “Ocorreu um erro” ou “Erro ao carregar”. E também não consigo acessar ao painel de “Compartilhar revisão” no meu arquivo original pois aparece “Erro ao convidar pessoas” carrega infinitamente e não consigo acessá-lo.O link original não aparece mais na lista de Links de revisão da Creative Cloud e não abre para nenhum dos revisores. Outros links de revisão funcionam normalmente. Já saí e entrei novamente na Creative Cloud e testei o link em uma janela anônima.Existe alguma forma de verificar se a revisão original e seus comentários ainda estão armazenados no serviço e recuperar o acesso? E como posso resolver o meu painel de compartilhar revisão neste arquivo original? Meu InDesign está atualizado.Desde já, Obrigada!

Hey everyone, my command+Z shortcut for »Undo« doesn't work in Indesign, and I can't find the source of error. The problem is Indesign-specific, because the rest of the Adobe programs work with command+Z, as do all other programs on my laptop. I already re-downloaded Indesign, set it up again, checked for missing links and am now at the end of my wits. Can somebody help me? :=) xx, clara

I’ve been having major issues with InDesign locking up ever since this update. It doesn’t crash so it doesn’t send a report either. At least two times every day, I need to either force quit the app or restart. It is very frustrating!

Ever since the last updated, drop shadows aren't displaying properly when exporting PNGs from Indesign. There are a couple of threads, but no solutions, It's becoming annoying, as the workaround is to close the app completely and reopen the file. Totally messes the workflow.

Hello,I am a professional graphic designer and I use Adobe InDesign all day, every day, for client work.Immediately after installing the macOS 27 Golden Gate Public Beta, InDesign became almost unusable.The problem is intermittent. InDesign can work normally for a while, then suddenly freeze. It seems to happen most often when I am editing text or changing fonts, although I cannot reproduce it consistently.When this happens:Save becomes disabled (greyed out). Save As becomes disabled. Close becomes disabled. I cannot save my work. I cannot close the document. The only solution is to Force Quit InDesign, which causes me to lose hours of work.This happens with multiple InDesign documents, not just one file.I have already:Updated InDesign to the latest version. Tested a previous version of InDesign. Restarted my Mac many times.The issue started immediately after installing the macOS 27 Golden Gate Public Beta.Has anyone else experienced this issue?Can Adobe confirm whether this is a known

I have selected text which is to be my Hyperlink Source highlighted in yellow in the screenshot below i.e. when the reader clicks on it, the app should take them to another location (Hyperlink Destination). However, I am unable to "Create Hyperlink" or "Edit Hyperlink" When I select this text to create a hyperlink for it, the options to “Create New Hyperlink”, “Edit Hyperlink”, and “Reset Hyperlink” are greyed out (screenshot below)  A “Text Anchor” has been created for the Hyperlink Destination but am unable to identify it as ID names it randomly. The inability to quickly and easily identify Text Anchors in ID is extremely frustrating!All support and advise would be greatly appreciated!  

Whenever I install new fonts from Adobe's font website, the fonts do not appear in the drop-down menu on InDesign. I have restarted my computer, forced sync, and ensured that InDesign is up to date. I have also installed all these fonts directly onto my computer through the Creative Cloud, and they still do not show up.  This has been a problem four times now as I need to install new fonts for typesetting and book cover design regularly. Eventually, they do show up after hours, but that is not conducive to my work as these things need to be finished quickly. Is this a bug? Or this is an issue that I could somehow fix on my end? Trying to export a pdf, Indesign error message. Program stuck can’t turn off, says manually close with Background Task Panel - Where is it?

Good afternoon Can I run and work in Adobe InDesign 15.1.3 on the new M6 processor?

When having a file open in InDesign 2024 on my Macbook Pro (Sonoma 14.2.1 OS), close the lid, plug into my LG UltraFine external monitor and wake the computer up, the InDesign window is still open and all the tool bars are visible and working, but the area where the artwork is becomes black/blank and I can't see the work. I can see the bounding boxes if I select all, but no image or text. The window is entirely blank. The same thing happens if I'm working on my LG monitor, unplug the display and then open the Macbook to work. I always have my Macbook closed when plugged into the LG display and use both an external keyboard and trackpad. The solution is to always save, quit InDesign and reopen. If I go through that it works again. Is it a bug with Apple? Is it a bug with Adobe? My LG firmware, OS and Adobe InDesign are all updated to the latest versions.

Our team recently upgraded to macOS Tahoe and Adobe CC 2026. Everyone was working fine until the OS updated on a couple computers. Users running Tahoe 26.1 thru 26.5.2 can save to the server fine. Users on Tahoe 26.6 and higher cannot. They receive this error when saving: “InDesign is unable to save this file. We tried, but it appears to be damaged.” This requires them to save the files to their desktops first and then pull them to the server which is really not efficient for our workflow.Doesn’t matter if they are resaving an existing file or creating a new file to save to the server. All users are connecting to the same server and same location on the server for testing purposes. All computers have Full Disk access set for InDesign and we’ve tried resetting preferences, setting up new user accounts, and clearing InDesign cache files. We updated to InDesign 21.5.1 and that didn’t help.  We tested and we could break working computers by installing the updated OS. We are connecting to o

I have noticed that I cannot work offline anymore, it keeps saying “We can’t verify your subscription status” (error 12015). I did a clean test a day later - switched off wifi in house and on the computer, no internet cable attached, and switched the computer on from a really shut-down status (not from sleep). Same message. Hitting ‘Try again’ repeatedly did not help.To be clear, I have worked the whole day on InDesign with Internet, 2 h ago (not 30 days). This would mean I cannot work on the plane for 14 hours, or on other places without internet… which I could do before.Is this normal behaviour?Very happy InDesign user for 15 years, now frustrated because of this, AI popups (InD, Acrobat), Gen AI switching again on after an update and a constant fear of security (confidentiality) issues. If there is a sequence of characters "AB"—where User 1 deletes "A" and User 2 deletes "B"—the deletion log records that User 2 deleted both "A" and "B"; in other words, deleting adjacent characters results in a single combined record. Is this intended behavior or a bug?

Problem:A keyboard input (typing, arrow keys, numbers, etc.) randomly opens a keyboard shortcut menu or window for that input.Example:Keyboard input - down arrowResult - File menu opens in ribbon Fix (for Windows):Pressing the ALT key puts you into a “shortcut mode” in which your first input will always open the menu attached to whatever key is pressed.Turn off the “shortcut mode” by just pressing alt again. 

Est-il possible, avec InDesign, de créer une table des illustrations (photos, schémas et autres images) qui ne sont pas forcément légendées ? L’objectif est de créer un index en fin d’ouvrage des éléments représentés sur ces images avec les numéros de page associés + une table “crédits photos” avec, là aussi, les numéros de page. Sachant que chaque image est nommée de la façon suivante : “sujet de l’image_nom de l’auteur”. À part d’attribuer une légende avec un style de caractère transparent à chaque image et faire ensuite une table des matière ciblée, je n’ai pas trouvé de truc pour ça. Or, pour un livre de 250 pages, c’est long et fastidieux de créer toutes ces étapes intermédiaires pour une action qui pourrait être facilement automatisée, voire mise à jour si le nombre de page évolue ou si des images sont déplacées ou renommées. Hello,I am experiencing a recurring issue with the File > Place dialog in both InDesign and Illustrator. It has been happening since I started using this Mac.My setup: MacBook Pro 16-inch (2023) Apple M2 Max, 96 GB RAM macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 Adobe 2026 applications, including InDesign 21.6 Files stored locally on the internal drive Full Disk Access already enabled for both InDesign and Illustrator Steps to reproduce: Modify an existing .ai file in Illustrator and save it with Cmd+S. Immediately go to File > Place in InDesign or Illustrator. The newly saved .ai file appears greyed out and cannot be selected. What I have tested: Waiting 10 seconds with the Place dialog open does not help. Navigating to another folder and returning does not help. Closing the Place dialog completely and reopening it makes the same file selectable immediately. Dragging the same file directly from Finder into InDesign works on the first attempt. Other users have reported similar behavio
