I have an odd occurance happening with lines featuring arrowheads - the length seems to be self adjusting when the arrowhead is placed past the length of the line. If I adjust to have the arrowhead flush with the line length there is no problem. Making a new document this is not an issue - but we have thousands of archived documents where this is causing an issue when opening in a newer version. Is thia preference issue or a bug in the software between versions? I have tested in 2024 and 2021 (where files originally where created) but I have not tested version in between.Further explanation: If I draw a line in 2024 add an arrowhead that extends past the line length, whenever it is moved, duplicated or adjusted it snaps to alonger size. The change is size seems to be consitent with the space from the line end to the arrowhead, which is what makes it feel like something that broke in the software. I’m trying to use dynamic XML data in Adobe InDesign to populate a template, but I’m struggling with setting it up correctly. My goal is to have 4 independent text frames on each page, filled with XML data, and for this to repeat across 365 pages.Later, the rest of the design I want to use will come from the master page. I want the XML to ignore all the empty space on the page and only flow into those 4 independent text frames.Here’s where I’m running into problems:I can only make the 4 independent text frames work if I place them directly under the root in the Structure Panel.However, if I place the frames inside a folder in the Structure Panel, it only populates the first page, and the data stops flowing to the following pages.If I drag the root folder into the first page, InDesign ignores my independent text frames altogether. Instead of flowing the data into the 4 separate frames, it combines all the data into one column or stacks it beside each other.To summarize: I want InDesign

Dear forum,I am attempting to write a script for a company that prints hoodies for school leavers. Currently, they just paste the list of names into the number box and then adjust the text manually moving things around, adjusting font size, line spacing, kerning, manually adding in spaces or line breaks until it looks ok, but it is quite difficult and time-consuming, and annoying! The trickiest part is filling an irregular shape (a text frame) with names.At the moment, they can be in three variants:First name onlyFirst name and initialFirst name and surname In fact, I think, there will be needed two algorithms: one for 1 and 2 and another for 3.The requirements are just to fit the children’s names in the outline of the “23” (for this year) and look neat and correct. All names need to be the same size as each other (no names bigger than others). Initial/surname would need to not be split from the first name by a line break. good morning I' vedownloaded the myriad hebrewto do a hebrew version of my layout. Unfortunally I 've notisted that the text goes from link to right unstead of from right to link, although I set the language as hebrew. How can I fix this problem? thaks in advance Giuliana     {Renamed by MOD}

My Indesign application won't open.  All the rest of my applications are working ex: Illustrator, Photoshop, just not Indesign. I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling the application but it still won't open, with an error occured notification box appearing each time. I've sent a report from this box to Adobe but no solution appears. Very stressful as I need to complete a project by the end of this week. How do I resolve this?

Auparavant, je pouvais enregistrer directement mes documents dans un dossier spécifique, et lors de chaque export, le chemin d'enregistrement se remplissait automatiquement. Cependant, depuis quelque temps, mes logiciels ne mémorisent plus le chemin et me renvoient systématiquement vers le dossier "Documents" par défaut. Je suis donc obligé de rechercher manuellement le dossier dans lequel je souhaite enregistrer mes fichiers à chaque export, ce qui ralentit considérablement mon travail. Je ne sais pas si cela est dû à un changement dans les paramètres du logiciel ou à une autre cause, mais ce comportement n'était pas présent auparavant et complique beaucoup la gestion de mes fichiers. I would like to create a book and automatically import/place one image on each page.  All images are the exact same size.  I am hoping there is a template I can set up and script to run so I don't have to do this manually.   Thanks for your help!Leanne  

I have a script for generating page ranges for an index document in InDesign. While the script executes successfully and creates the page ranges, there is an issue with hyperlinks. For example, if the input is 10, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, the script converts it to⁣.10, 29-34 However, after the hyphen, the first digit (3 in this case) does not retain its hyperlink, while the last digit (4) does. I have verified this issue both in InDesign and in the ePub output.Below is my script. This didn't used to be an issue, but it seems that the new version of InDesign does not make it easy to relink images in a new folder if the image has changed from an RGB to a CMYK. We have times when we have to link to RGB images first in a document because they're smaller and easier to use/share on Creative Cloud with multiple designers. When I go to make final art for printing, I need to relink to the folder that has the CMYK images. I brake the path to the RGB images, and relink to a CMYK image, and check the box that says "Search for missing links in this folder" to find the rest of them that are in the folder I'm currently relinking to. Now it will just relink the single image and not find the rest of them that are in this folder.  This used to work, and InDesign would find all the images with the same name in the folder. Hi all! Years ago, I used Quark. I haven't used it in a long time, so I don't remember the exact key command... but I want to know if I can do something in InDesign that I used to be able to do in Quark. Imagine having a text box... and in it is a 12 point headline and 9 point text below that headline. I want to enlarge the whole thing... maybe bring the headline up to 18 points and the text up to 15 points (or whatever would be proportional). Is there a way to do this in InDesign? I've never been able to find it. And I find myself wanting to do this periodically. I'm not looking to enlarge the text box itself... just the text within it. Thanks.

Lately I've been doing a lot of publications and importing PDF comments into InDesign. But approving each change is extremely slow. Between 10–15 seconds for each one. Anyone else suffering poor performace? Anything can be done to improve this?InDesign v14.0.3MacOS 10.14.5

I recently had my 2019 mac pro go down and IT wiped and reinstalled everything including updating my OS to Sequoia 15.1.1. I then updated CC to ID 20.0.1. And man... what a nightmare. It is so incredibly sluggish. Open the app... wait... open a file... wait... move the window... nothing... move a window... wait... it moves a bit, then the spinning ball... then wait... I tried to merge a file, and that was a horrendously long process. What took seconds now I wait what seems an eternity. Anyone else having the same issues?

I did a fresh install of InDesign on my new Mac, but realized that I lost my PDF presets I have on my old iMac. Where are these presets located so I can copy and past them from the old iMac to the Mac Studio?   Thanks, Laura     <Title renamed by MOD>

I've shared a review link from my adobe acrobat on my MacBook. I'm pretty sure I chose the comment option as "anyone on the internet with the link can comment", but after a while I shared it automatically changes to "only invited people can comment" Any ideas on what I should do? Thanks

Every year (once) I install and run an InDesign calendar wizard. It doesn't have an installation file, I normally just copy it to plugins.  Running InDesign 2025 on Windows 11, I cannot see any way to execute the JS file... Nothing useful in the plugins menu/panel (what are they there for anyway?). I can't seem to find a way to just execute the JS.  Help please!

I've hit a problem that you may be able to help with. I've embedded 4 youtube videos into my interactive brochure and created a pop-up animation screen that appears with the embedded video link appears when the play button is clicked. There is a close button, that reverses the animated pop-up screen back to the home page. My problem is that after the closed button is clicked and the pop-ups disengage, if I try to click a different button on my home page, the youtube navigations are still engaged from the previously closed pop-up video (i.e I'll try to click the next page button and the previously closed video will start to play or skip the video ahead 10 seconds etc...) is there anyway around this problem? When I click the close button, I want all the youtube controls to be completely disengaged until the video play button is clicked again. I know I could do this with an embedded video file but I can't figure out how to do it with a embedded video link. Thanks ahead for your

I have an 80-page document that I have been working on for the past couple of months. This week I was instructed to add a new section. I added the new pages; then I added the text. Now that I need to format and edit my content, highlighting text does not show on screen. Oddly, this is only the case past page 80. It works fine on all other pages. I can click and drag or double-click to highlight, and it shows up just fine.I am working on a Windows 11 system, and I have the most recent updates for InDesign.

Hola,He creado un documento interactivo en indesing con galerías de imágenes a partir de Estados de Objetoscon botones para navegar que te llevan al siguiente estado o al estado anterior, todo funciona correctamente cuando realizo una previsualizacion desde indesing, pero cuando lo exporto como un PDF interactivo la galería de imagen no funciona, la accion de los  botones funcionan bien, pero no puedo ver  la galería de imagenes. Agradeceria mucho cualquier informacion que pueda ayudarme a solucionar el problema. Saludos.  

I jsut want to work on my book. Every so often atleast at like 25~30 mins the program is crashing, lagging or not repsoding and making my whole mac studio lock up.  What is the whole issue with this program? Is adobe actually fixing anyhting that wrong with it? If i have to switch to some oher program i will but i have about 67% of a book finished and his program is making it even harder to work.
