InDesign

I urgently need some help. My deadline is today, and I can’t open the InDesign file. Can anyone help me open the file?

I downloaded Indesign not too long ago for school reasons; and the only way I’ve been able to get things to move is by arrow keys. My selection tools don’t work (direct, and regular selection), and they don’t work even when I’m trying to make text boxes bigger and or more stretched out. I’ve seen this question asked before and nothing has helped. I have the latest version and everything. 

I am using InDesign 2021. I’m wanting to create a multi-level bulleted list for product features. The first or top level will be just your standard solid black bullet with text in bold. The second level will be indented and bullet will be hollow or outlined and text in regular. Example:• Simple One Touch          • The simplified design• Pour & Paint          • Spraying coatings• Fast & Easy          • Clean-upI tried looking it up in Learning Center for doing either bulleted or numbered list, but wasn’t making any head way. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have an indesign document with a ton of different images, 1 on each page of the doc. I’ve updated a few of these links today and the newly linked updated images have this icon on the bottom left corner which I’ve never seen before. Any idea what this is or what it means? These are not text boxes, there are no primary text frames in this document and no threaded text.It is definitely attached to the linked image and nothing else, as it moves around with the image when I move the image.

Help! All my automatic hyphens disappear when exporting a pdf. First I thought it was all hyphens but in closer inspection all soft- and discretionary hyphens remain. I've tried everything from uninstalling, downgrading, updating, restarting my computer... Nothing seems to work. I packaged the file and sent it to a friend and he was able to output a pdf with the hyphens, but I can't do it on my own inDesign (using the latest version, legit Cloud version)

I recently upgraded to Mac OS 27.0.1 Golden Gate. ID is 21.6. I have a file that has a very odd color rendering. It has a gray overlay on it. The PDF created from it (any settings) looks fine. OS file preview looks fine. File color settings are the same as all my other ID files that are fine. It looked fine before the OS upgrade. Tried running the file through the IDML route - no change. Any ideas?Indesign viewpress PDFOS file preview 

Hello,I am experiencing a recurring issue with the File > Place dialog in both InDesign and Illustrator. It has been happening since I started using this Mac.My setup: MacBook Pro 16-inch (2023) Apple M2 Max, 96 GB RAM macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 Adobe 2026 applications, including InDesign 21.6 Files stored locally on the internal drive Full Disk Access already enabled for both InDesign and Illustrator Steps to reproduce: Modify an existing .ai file in Illustrator and save it with Cmd+S. Immediately go to File > Place in InDesign or Illustrator. The newly saved .ai file appears greyed out and cannot be selected. What I have tested: Waiting 10 seconds with the Place dialog open does not help. Navigating to another folder and returning does not help. Closing the Place dialog completely and reopening it makes the same file selectable immediately. Dragging the same file directly from Finder into InDesign works on the first attempt. Tengo un problema con un documento de 186 páginas. Cuando trato de eliminar o agregar una página nueva, se cuelga el programa. Además no me deja abrirlo como archivo IDML ni copiarlo a otro archivo nuevo.He probado con todo lo que encontré en repost como eliminar el caché o el archivo Indesing Resing y no arreglo el problema.Espero alguien pueda ayudarme.

InDesign 2026, exporting to a small PDF file doesn't work!!!! The PDF is way too large.  

Nach dem Update auf macOS 26 (Tahoe) tritt beim Verpacken von InDesign-Dokumenten (Version 20.5) ein reproduzierbarer Fehler auf, wenn die verknüpften Dateien auf einem Synology NAS (DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 9)liegen und über SMB eingebunden sind.Die Fehlermeldung lautet:„InDesign konnte das Dokument nicht verpacken. Currently having an issue with my undo/history function. I seem to only be able to go back 2 or 3 commands before the entire history disappears. pls help!

When working in InDesign, entire objects (text fields, color areas, linked images) disappear and are no longer displayed. Not even their frames. The layers cannot be selected by clicking on the location where the elements are located. Zooming into the document or changing the view mode doesnt change anything in the visability of the objects.  However, the objects are still there in the layers window. Similarly, when exporting a PDF, the invisible objects become visible again. I can make the objects visible again by copying and pasting them onto a new page or by saving an IDML and opening it. However, the objects keep disappearing when working in the file.Tested with GPU turned on and off.

Hello everyone.This composite font is really confusing, I can't collect it, nor can I take it away.There used to be a script that didn't seem to work with compound fonts. Has anyone really researched it?https://community.adobe.com/questions-671/font-packaging-script-error-in-indesign-892434For example, can you collect the fonts in the document below into the Document fonts directory?Sometimes packaging can be collected, but sometimes packaging is not ineffective for many fonts.

Hello, I just paid for my InDesign subscription, but the Creative Cloud application is preventing me from installing the latest version due to hardware limitations on my computer. I need a direct download link (offline installer) for an older version that will run on my system, such as InDesign CC 2020 or CC 2021. I've already spoken with two advisors, and they gave me the 2024 version (LS20). That's why I'm here. My computer has 6 GB of RAM, and I need version 15.x or 16.x.

ざっと確認はしたのですが、すでに投稿をされているものでしたら申し訳ございません。 InDesign2025にて作業をしている際に困っている事象なのですが、テキストボックス内に打ち込んだ黒文字（11.5Q）に白の線をつけ（0.5mm）さらにその文字にルビをつける、長体平体をかけるなどの動作をするとその文字と前後にのみ、ふちがかぶるようになってしまいます。（ルビなどの処理をする前には文字のカーニングをつめてもふちがかぶりません） PCのスペックは以下です。iMac 24インチチップ　Apple M1OS　バージョン14.6.1（Sonoma） もしこちらの現象の回避方法、原因等お分かりの方がおりましたらご教示いただけますと幸いです。 よろしくお願いいたします。

Constrain proportions for width and height in InDesign 2025 (20.0) is broken. In previous versions of InDesign the constrain-status would stay the way you selected always, now you have to link it every time you scale something, it's quite annoying and adds an extra step to workflow.   <Title renamed by MOD>

Hello everyone. Sometimes, after several hours of work, the InDesign menus get completely misaligned! For example, right now when I click "Save As," the "Print Booklet" window opens instead. It’s a real hassle—everything is off! Thanks for your help, and have a great day. Olivier

I am using InDesign 21.3, working on a simple 2 page file, I go to place a logo and the blue thinking wheel pops up and doesn’t go away. I can click and move things around but none of it is being “saved”. I close the file and click to close the program and it just sits there still open. I then have to force quit the program. When I relaunch the file opens with the software and everything I did while the wheel was spinning was not saved.It’s done this several times since the update and there is no pattern to why. I’m finding it randomly acting up. It’s really frustrating, especially when I’m not working on anything complicated.

This happens to me every now and then: InDesign completely messes up the preview on my screen. If I zoom in or out, it usually disappears.At first, I blamed it on my old computer, where the graphics card was probably failing, but the same problem persists on my new Mac Mini.It doesn't seem to happen at all; it's completely random. This issue is still not fixed with the latest update (21.0.1), and it's even worse.If I move an object with a drop shadow, InDesign "moves" the entire shadow. Zooming in and out doesn't help; I have to completely close and reopen the document for it to work as it should.
