InDesign

Hi,  I am having issues with inset spacing and my text boxes within Indesign 2024. There is a small space between the left edge of my text box and the beginning of my font. I have all inset spacing set to 0, there are not settings in paragraph style, I have checked for hidden characters. Is this maybe something to do with the font? ...when I am trying to align different text boxes with different sized text they do not actually align because the spacing at the start of the text box is different. Grateful for any advice. Including screenshots of issue, text framing settings and paragraph style. 

Hi,I had a 'export to PDF' problem. I made a color change in Indesign 2021 Big Sur (MBP 2019 16"). When I exported it to PDF it did not include those changes I made. I tried it multiple times with no success. Same color as before I made the change. Except when I first saved the IND file (local). Never had this problem before. I do a lot of (press) printing. So I'm getting very nervous. Anybody recognize this problem?

Hello everyone, I really need help getting the old 2021 16.4 version of InDesign. I already messaged the support, but no help by them. Is there really no way to get my hands on the older version? Prodesgintools just refers to the support sadly. Any ideas?Thanks!

I have a brochure which used to export fine. Now the blue changes to dark blue after exporting to pdf.

How do I place text upright but under eachother?like this: t e   x     tbut then without the spaces...I currently have this but i dont know how I need to put the text upright:

as you can see the header has plenty of space extra room above and below the word "January" but once i resize the table to remove the unneeded space it says my text is too large. Am I overlooking something? I create tables all the time and never ran into this issue 

Hi,I have created a document in CMYK, and made the layout with images and text. Now I realized it is in CMYK and this document will be used on the web and therefore I would like to convert it into RBG. The problem is – it does not work! I have tried everything I can come up with, but still when I use a HEX color in RGB it automatically converts to CMYK color inside the document. What to do? This is what I have done:1. Checked that every image is in RGB.2. The color profile is set to Adobe RGB.3. The transparancy blend? (not sure on the word in English. It's "genomskinlighetsblandning" in Swedish.) is set to RGB.4. Document settings is set to webb.5. Proofing (korrektur) is off.I get the error warning that the transparency ("genomskinlighetsblandning") is set to RGB and that I should change it, since the layout contains objects that has got a CMYK color. But the problem is that I want to give these objects a RGB color, but as soon as I do that it changes automatically into RGB.Please, I

I currently have a 1 book created with let's say 5 documents.  The title for this book is for example ALL. In the page templates of the documents the header section states you are reading the ALL book. Document 1 of 5 I would like to hold the master pages, for the other documents to follow. So it would have the other 4 documents show ALL in the header for example. Now. I want to create a second book called Mini.  Mini will have its own first document of 3 and use only 2 of the same documents that ALL uses. However I want the documents to say in the header you are reading the Mini Book. Is there a method to have the page template take information from another document rather than in its master pages section within the document?   <Title renamed by MOD>

Hi FolksI found this post addressing my issue of generating QR codes without the padding. However, the problem in INDD2025 now is that the padding vary depending on the amount of information.Is this a bug? Can it be prevented? Tom

Ho un documento di Indesign con una finestra di testo dove vado ad inserire delle informazioni su di un articolo tradotto in più lingue.All'interno di queste lingue ci sono alcuni valori che si ripetono sempre uguali, ad esempio la dimensione dell'articolo che sto descrivendo.Non c'è una funzione che mi permetta di poter inserire questo valore solo nella lingua italiana e trovare il modo che nelle altre lingue vada in automatico a pescarmi il dato inserito?Così che se un giorno devo cambiare la dimensione in automatico me la trovo aggiornata in tutte le lingue...Questo vorrei farlo per diversi articoli, uno per pagina. Tipo la funzione di excel (=A2), che se inserisco questo input nella cella B2 mi inserisce lo stesso valore che vado ad inserire nella cella A2... non so se è chiaro. Grazie in anticipo per ogni risposta!

Dear Community I use the Generate QR-Code option in InDesign quiet often.But it always annoys me that InDesign automatically generates a blank frame around the QR-Code which makes it harder for me to aline with other objects.Is there a possibility to change the settings for the generator? Thank you.

i am working on annual report of 300 pages where on every page there is so many borders to apply on figures  the issue i am facing is when i select 4 rows and single column and apply border to the cell 0.25 pt its fine manually, selected cells when i create new cell style and apply the style on same cells nothing happens the plus sign shows with style name, when option click on style name style applies but the bottom line is missing    now i want to clear the plus sign  when i click on style style applies  and bottom line to complete border what i am missing here. thanks for help     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hi, is it possible to get text created using the "Type on a path" tool to export properly when creating a tagged PDF from an InDesign document? I've applied a paragraph style with the tag specified (H3 in this case) under Paragraph Style Options > Export Tagging > PDF. I've tried both directly adding said object to the articles panel and anchoring the type-on-a-path-object to a location within a text frame that's already in the articles panel as well as defining the content type as graphic, text, and unassigned. In the best case (text or graphic content type, separately added to articles panel), I get each glyph as a separate object within the H3 tag, ordered about how you'd expect (and NVDA reads each letter separately). If I define the content type as text and anchor it inside another text frame, I get each glyph as a separate object again BUT in a completely new article. If it's unassigned (or marked as a graphic and then anchored), the text isn't tagged at all. Hmm.  

Someone, please enlighten me on this Creative Cloud storage because so far, I have found it USELESS. I went to my Files folder and created a new folder for Archives. I can't seem to upload OR drag a WHOLE folder; it says one file at a time, and when I do upload an INDD file, it says it can't support that format. What am I missing!??? I have 1 TB of storage, and it would be nice to do a backup.   <Title renamed by MOD>  

I would like to know if there's a way to take the overflows text from a textframe and move it to another one ? I tried something like this by testing if my textFrames.overflows was true then slicing my textFrame in two by lines, and move the second part into another textFrame but i can't acces to overflows lines.

For reference, I am using an acer swift with an NVIDIA Geforce MX350 For the past few months, anytime I try to move an image on any of the adobe suite platforms (specifically Indesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and occasionally Photoshop) the bottom half of my screen proceeds to flicker, eventually flickering at such a rate that I am unable to see the object I am moving. This eventually increases to shut an extent that the entire screen fully blanks out. This glitch also occasionally happens when moving drawn objects (unsure of correct terminology, sorry. this includes squares, elipses and what not) I tried updating to the more recent version of indesign and that only made the problem worse Any help would be greatly appreciated!Best wishes!

We are creating an interactive brochure to be sent via email to employees. The brochure needs to be clickable, allowing recipients to navigate through it. How should I save and share this? I get an error message when I try to publish it online. 

I'm trying to bring tables, long tables, short tables, tables that span columns and more exciting InDesign tables ----- to bring them into Illustrator (!!!don't ask!!!)    Basically - exporting to EPS / PDF etc. breaks the table strokes into parts - and also breaks up the text and also some text is converting to outline opening in Illustrator.    My idea was to convert the indesign table to a drawn table where the table cells are objects, like paths.   But my scripting knowledge only brings me so far.    What I need to do is convert any table, whether the cells are merged or not - span columns etc.  That the table becomes strokes - continunous lines and not jointed (cos might need to resize a column or row)   So far I've got this - but it's very clean - basically make a table in indesign size the text frame to the table and run the script.   But it breaks if the cells are merged.    I just ned for the table to be generated as

Bonjour à tous, j'utilise la font Zapf Dingbag pour une puce et une étoile dans un document et il apparait comme un carré manquant surligné depuis que je suis passée sur Indesign 2024. La Font est bien activée et n'apparait pas en police manquante. J'utilise Connect Fonts pour mes polices. Elle apparait avec un carré surligné lié à un style de paragraphe avec un GREP dans une cellule de tableau. Avez-vous eu ce genre de problème

When i want to Export a PDF File my Window is moved outside of my screen. I cant move it down because the top part is cut of. Because of that i cant change the Export preset or the PDF Version. Is there a possibility to move the Window without having to touch the upper part of it? I am working on a Windows PC btw. Thx in advance 🙂

I have a long list of cases (some 1200) cited incorrectly across multiple volumes. I've set up a text file for the FindChangeByList.jsx to find the incorrect citations and replace them with the correct ones.But I want to retain the index markers in cases where the marker is inside the citation. My solution was to demarcate each case with « and » at the beginning and end of the citation, and then to find index markes between « and » and place them before «. For this I searched for the citations and replaced them with the found text with « and » around it: «$0» In the Find/Change dialog this worked, and the index markers were retained. However, when I did it via FindChangeByList.jsx, the marker itself disappeared, but a remnant remained, something like a blue colon. See below. If I copy and paste the blue colon into a find/change dialog box, it is pasted as ~I, i.e. index marker. But if I search for it, it's not found.Any ideas on how I can go about moving the index markers out
