I know there are dozens of threads on this, I've read them all, and I still am having this extremely frustrating issue with Acrobat consistently washing out my colors. Even if the colors are CMYK compatible, it's desaturating them. I'm putting PSDs into InDesign. Transparency Blend Mode set to RGB to preview correctly. Exporting as a PDF to view in Acrobat. Setting an RGB destination profile does nothing to retain my colors. Everything looks fine in Mac 'Preview' application, but Acrobat can't seem to retain any of the proper colors. This is turning a simple 5 minute task into hours of tweaking at least once a month. I'd love if any one can offer a sureproof solution.

I have a template file that contains 5 pages. There are text frames on each page. The first page - the first text frame is for the TITLE. The rest of the text frames I would call them NOTATION text frames that are linked.My problem is as follows: I need a script when I type with my font in NOTATION text frames - so that the script makes new text frames under the NOTATION text frames.  I'm going to call this group of new text frames LYRICS text frames.  The problem is that I want the syllables in the text frames LYRICS to be exactly below each character that will be in the text frames NOTATION And to be centered under each character to which they belong from text frames NOTATION For now, I'm doing this job manually and that job consumes so much time. I tried already with ChatGPT but without solution. 2 I had the idea that when I write in first row signs for notation, the script will make for each sign a separate text frame so later the script can make new t

I work with the latest CC (you might find all details in the crash report). I have an InDesign file with an InCopy story. When I try to update the files within the story InDesign crashes. No matter if I do it with only one or all files within the story. I tried to de-link all files and export again for InCopy. But the result is the same.The InDesign and InCopy files are saved on our office server which I access from home via VPN.Please find the crash report attached.I  had the same problems, too with another file some weeks ago. Luckily we were at the very end of the project and I could just de-link the InCopy files and we've made the last small edits directly in InDesign.But this time the project is in full run and I see no chance to get around this issue. Almost everytime I use InDesign, my shortcuts will stop working. Whether it's V, or my option + drag to duplicate, or resizing with shift.  I've looked at numerous posts and haven't found a resolution.  Any suggestions?

Hello in the screenshots I added to this post I'm trying to put a picture into the different frames and to do that I inserted everything into a compound path but when I'm trying to release the compound path to move the frames it removes everything except one frame as I showed in my image examples. Does anybody know how to do what I'm trying to do

Isn't there a way to convert, per example in my case, Adobe CC files into IDML for my CS6 softwares ? I even have a IDML file done on another account so I could open it in my CS6 account wich I cannot open at all even if its an IDML. And I can open this exact IDML on an cc account.It's really not helpful and really badly done to face these issues. It really is an handicap.[moderator changed Adobe to Indesign in the title]

When using presentation mode, is there a way to not have your content run up into the notch area? If your content is tall enough, it will run all the way to the top of the screen and have a big ol' notch cut out of it, when viewing in Presentation mode. Any way to tell InDesign, "hey, just push everything down below that bloddy notch, please." ?     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hi,  After the latest update for InDesign, I have issues with JosefinSans-Variable Font displaying in  very weird way, and not at all what it should look like.  It shows up differently in PDF form as well, with irregular spacings and does not look the way it should.     Basically it is the "regular", "medium" and "bold" fonts that are acting up. What is the purpose of the note tool?

How do you swap links between two images that are already in a document? If I click on Relink, it takes me to Windows Explorer where I then have to select the image to replace the old one with.  But if that image is already on another page, why can't I link to it from the Links panel? Why can't I drag it to the frame from there?

I am struggling with a lingering visual difference between RGB elements in InDesign vs Photohop.Here is the download link if you are interested :Both RGB and CMYK.zip And here are two screen captures that document the visual difference.   First the "Print mode" version : And now, the "Web mode" version : To me, InDesign "correctly" renders the colors on screen when Transparency Blend Space is set to RGB.But, for the life of me, I can't understand why InDesign can't corretly render the colors when Transparency Blend space is set to CMYK?It's as though, the RGB elements created in InDesign were rendered differently than those elements employing the same RGB color space and blending mode in Photoshop?   I tried pushing the analysis further, by exporting to PDF : when the PDF is exported with no color conversion, the colors continue to appear "mismatched" in the PDF. I'm struggling to understand this issue. I've created a button to close an interactive layer. I have my button actions listed as Animation with the option set to reverse. I have a second action listed as the Show/Hide Buttons and Forms. This visability is set to Hide. I have mutiple interactive layers to switch in and out from. When I preview the animation and click into the first interactive layer, then click the close button, and open the second interactive layer. I then close the second interactive layer, and open the first interactive layer again, my close button disappears.  How can I keep this from happening? We plan to export this to publish online and embedded into a website to be viewed and used.     <Title renamed by MOD>

After the usual annual update of Adobe InDesing some of my projects stopped opening. When opening a project, a window appears for a split of a second, then closes and nothing happens. The project wont open and no other error message is displayed:  How can this be solved? The project is not corrupted - same issue happens on three different computers - macOS and Windows. Seems like the 2025 update messed up something? Other projects, files and such open just fine without any problems. Any possible solution to that?

When exporting from InDesign 19 to PDF, the PDF file always is missing 2 specific pages. Any idea why this occurs and what can be done to include them?     <Title renamed by MOD>

I installed Indesign 2025 with MacOS 13.2.1. I can use it right after installation, but the next day when I start again, the app failed to open without any error messages. I don't know what the issue is. Now I have to uninstall and reinstall every day. It is very annoying!!     <Title renamed by MOD>

Just like the title says, I'm trying to create relative paths to an illustrator file and excel file in my template file. I'm using data merge to create a bunch of files from the template and when I the individual InDesign files, I run a script that places each of the new documents into a folder with the same name. I am then dropping the linked files into the new folders and kept the files the same name and kept the same file structure. So, if it were a relative path, it would update. But, it shows up as a missing link. After I make the files, I am running a script to open the files, update links, and export a PDF; so, manually updating the links kinda defeats the purpose.  If there's not a way to create a relative path, is there a script out there that will look for a file of the same file type and/or filename in the same folder as the document? Thank you in advance!

Is it possible to add elements like hyperlinks or embedded videos in InDesign that will still function when exported as PDFs? Hi there,I've seen other posts in the forum about the shift key no longer working to constrain proportions in Indesign.I'm having this problem, and I have also tried following the steps to reset Indesign's preferences (Shift+Option+Command+Control while opening Indesign) as is suggested as a fix, but the option to delete preference files is nowhere to be seen. I don't have Webroot installed on my computer. I'm on macOS, running Mojave 10.14.5, and my version of Indesign is up to date. Any help would be much appreciated as it's taking me ages to get work done without being able to constrain proportions with the shift key!

Good morning,   I am having an issue with sizing during export in InDesign, and I am not sure why this happens.   I export a file as a JPEG, and its 73mb's, so then I have to open it in Photoshop and resize it again there to get it down in size. Upon saving from Photoshop, its down to 26mb's, even though all I did in Photoshop was to open, go to Image Resize and literally not change anything, but just click "OK" and save.   Why is this happening?
