InDesign

I have been using InDesign 2025 for my work projects and have not been able to see images for the longest time. The images are correctly linked, and I have already reinstalled InDesign. I am unsure what steps to take to make the images pop up properly. Please let me know if you have any solutions!      <Title renamed by MOD>

Hello,   I've run across the same issue this Reddit user is having and it's unsolved.   Is there any solution to this? Our company uses Plus Jakarta across all of our templates and documents in both the Creative Suite and Microsoft products.  Occasionally, when exporting from InDesign to PDF the font exports with significant formatting issues and replaces the fonts with symbols and boxes. The templates use paragraph styles. There has not been a pattern to the issue and we are unable to replicate it. It appears to be happening randomly.  At first, we thought it was a font issue so it was uninstalled and the TTF font was reinstalled, however the issue keeps happening. A Google search suggests the computer cant find the font used in the original document, however the fonts show installed in the fonts folder.  Any ideas of what could be happening or how we might be able to better troubleshoot the situation?   <Title renamed by MOD>

Hallo CommunityIch musste mich von der alten Adobe Creative Suite verabschieden... Der alte PC lässt kein Windows 11 mehr zu... Und die Creative Suite 5.5 kann man nicht mehr anmelden mit der bisherigen Lizenz!Somit Einrichten auf neuem PC, viel Arbeit, jetzt noch die Adobe CC mit InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat und Illustrator. Soweit alles gut, nur lädt InDesign meine bisherig verwendeten Schriften (Type 1 und True Type) für die Erstellung meiner Zeitung nicht. Was ist falsch oder wie muss ich vorgehen?Die Schriften sind in einem Ordner «PSFonts» auf der Harddisk gespeichert, die Schriften funktionieren auf allen anderen Programmen problemlos, da sie in «Windows/Fonts» installiert sind. Why can't I get page numbers on my InDesign File? It comes up so weird. It will give me page numbers from 13-71 but not before or after. I added some 60+ pages at the beginning of the document and then moved pages from another Indesign File into those 60+ pages. Could that be the problem? I tried deleting the master/parent pages and making new master/parent pages, but still can't get the page numbers to show up. Can anyone help?         <Title renamed by MOD>

I just updated Indesign to the most recent version- 2025.  When the window is minimized (side by side with another application- not the full screen) I can't scroll with my mouse- Even trying the scroll bar doesn't work.  I've tried the hand tool, tried restarting the application.  I have a logitech mouse.  My touch pad works only for horizonzal scrolling.      <Title renamed by MOD>

Hello, good morning everyone.   In the latest update versions of InDesign I noticed a problem regarding keyboard shortcuts. Alignment shortcuts stopped working. The bold, italic and regular shortcuts also stopped working. They started to occur in version 19.4 and were repeated in update 19.5. They have not been corrected. Yesterday, Indesign didn't open. I would click and it would start, then promptly stop. I decided to uninstall Indesign since my files were saved to the cloud. I reinstalled it and it would open when it was finished installing, but i couldn't then quit the program and restart it again - it kept closing itself. I updated my Mac, and now all my files are gone. Files for school and work that I need kept because trying to remember it all is a nightmare. Does anyone have any idea what to do? I can see certain recent files on my creative cloud, but I can't open them. I recieve the message, "Cannot open the file. Adobe Indesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application". It's just a regular .indd files that I have saved on my macbook. I don't know how to go about getting my work back and i'm rather stressed about it.      <Title renamed by MOD>

I wok on a 14" iMac Pro running Sonoma 14.7 and have two Dell 27" monitors attached for additional real estate. I typically have my ID document displayed on one of the larger monitors, but the toolbar displays in the upper left corner of the laptop screen and is partially hidden with no way that I can grab ahold of it and move it to the other screen (see screenshot). 1) how can I move the toolbar onto the larger screen, and 2) is there a way I can anchor the toolbar to the workspace so that it displays correctly no matter which screen it is displayed on?     <Title renamed by MOD>

I've been trying to print my book to Kindle - KDP for several weeks one of the most frustrating things I've ever had to do. I thought this program would make life easy. There are so many variations when you try to print. Despite having the correct measurments InDesign doesn't stick to the measurements.How do you print a cover for example when its 3 pages it only gives you the measurementes for one and not combines. Why hasn't Adobe made things easier for doing books on Kindle??

Every time a document is unlinked in my indesign files and I go to relink or update the link, indesign immediately crashes. My only workaround has been to completely delete the file from indesign and drop it in again. Is there a way to resolve this issue?   <Title renamed by moderator>

When I attempt to use the "Go To State" button action, the checkbox named "Go Back on Roll Off" is greyed out but checked / enabled. Since it's greyed out, I can't uncheck or disable it. I do not see a way of doing that. I've tried all I know of. I thought since it was greyed out, it might not actually be "enabled", but it is. When I create the button and use "Go To State" with that greyed out box checked, the state only appears as long as the mouse cursor is over the button. The state disappears (goes back) as soon as you hover or roll off the button. This is causing the "Go To State" action to be completely useless. I've tried changing the button "event" to "click" instead of "on release or tap", but still the same issue. I've tried reopenning the document, and also shutting down InDesign, but no luck. The only thing I haven't tried is reinstalling InDesign. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Screenshot attached...

Bonjour, J'ai un gros problème sur mon export indesign. Je dois faire une grande affiche ( 1 m pour 2,5 m de hauteur) avec en fond une image. Le probleme c'est que je ne trouve aucune image qui apres l'impression ne sera pas pixelisé. Je pense que c'est un probleme avec mon indesign, ma photo fait quand meme 5000 x 7000 px et 300 dpi mais elle reste pixelisé en mode taille reelle (avec performance d'affichage au max) comment je peux faire pour que celle ci ne soit pas pixelisée ? J'ai l'impression que c'est une probleme de mon indesign parce que c'est quand meme des photos immense.  

Working in InDesign 19.0.1 x64 on Windows, and I'm trying to turn off this action here...  ...but for the life of me I can't figure it out.I searched the discussions history, and most recent post was from 2017. Anyone have any suggestion(s)?

HI All,   I need to support urdu/arabic/persian typegraphy features in the non middle eastern version of InDesign. I knew that by using 'Adobe world Ready Paragraph composer', right justification and using fonts like - Noto_Nastaliq_Urdu, Jameel Noori Nastaleeq Kasheeda, Jameel Noori Nastaleeq Regular etc. Do I need to add my own custom composer to support it or what approach I need to choose. as I could not see kashida in character panel flyout menu and panel which can be seen in middle eastern version. Hi, We run 6 licences of InDesign CS5.5 that we bought 13 years ago on our PCs. As we replace and upgrade computers we've deactivated InDesign on the old PCs and reinstalled it onto the new ones and it has activated fine. Lately however we've tried this and are unable to activate the newly installed version, even though the previous one has been deactivated. We can't reinstall and reactivate on the old PC either so are now have one staff member stuck and unable to use InDesign.   Upgrading to the latest subscription model isn't an option as our system is offline (except when required for software activation) and financially it wouldn't work for us. I've seen some Adobe pages say that the licence servers for older CS versions are being retired so was wondering if this is the problem. In which case what can we do?     <Title renamed by MOD>

Having issues with a ARM surface pro beta releases.  Your InDesign (Beta) build has expired.  Is there a work around? There is no other avaliable InDesign version (so can switch to a full version) and no transparency on a full version release for a ARM machine. Help??

Hello all, I am inputting Georgian text into an Indesign file but I cannot find a font that supports this language. So far, I've tried Georgia Pro, Omnes Georgian, and Gill Sans Nova from Adobe Fonts. I've also tried the more typical ones such as Myriad Pro, Open Sans, etc. but nothing works. They all show as below: Please help. Thanks. Regards, Sara

My apologies if this post appears twice but I can find no record of what I believed I posted a few hours ago. I have just migrated everything from an older mac to a mac mini and most applications seem to be working fine although for some reason I had to re-install the Creative Cloud app. Except for InDesign (version 19.5 which worked on the older mac).When I open a file, all linked photos on the opened spread appear for a second, then they all disappear. “No errors” appears in the normal place at the bottom of the screen, and although all linked files show in the links panel, none indicates an error. Each one can be successfully re-linked individually, but I’m talking of school year-books with hundreds and hundreds of links.I have tried packaging a file from the old mac and manually copying the whole packaged folder to the mac mini, but it then misbehaves the same way.I have uninstalled then re-installed InDesign version 19.5, but the problem remains.

A few weeks ago, my creative cloud let me download Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign Beta, it's great, now for some reason I can't open InDesign saying that "Your InDesign (Beta) build has expired." I am trying to figure out what I need to do to fix it, and I can't find any answer.
