I use CC Libraries for image management when I use InDesign. I've been experiencing an issue when I need to relink an image in the links panel I go to Links>select image with the missing link>Left Click> Relink CC Libraries and it takes me to the cc libraries window but my files lose organization and I am not able to search the name of the file. Does anyone have a solution or an explanation why it does this?   <Title renamed by MOD>

I need to change the orientation and paper size of my booklet but indesign won't allow me to. I am unable to change the PPD from device independent to Adobe PDF 9.0 as it only shows device independent as my only option? HELP!

I created this tab and it worked for the first line, but I need ot use it again, how can I get that to worK?

Hi community, I am struggling hard with this issue with the recent updates with all chromium browsers.The default view of web browsers seem to be single page, but my project has spreads, and supposed to be viewed as Two Up facing with cover page. 😞I have tried exporting it as spread, which visually does reflects my intention, but page numbers are reduced down by 1/2 (as it is spread). Page numbers are set through master page - style - current page. Another method I tried is to export as pages, with two-up facing. But the web browser would display pdf as single page by default. I tried to add in javascript into pdf, but that did not address the issue. Are there any settings or scripts that would display two up facing with cover page by default on the web browser? Sincerely

I'm making a PDF accessible for assistive technology and have hit a very basic problem: when I look at the tagging and the reading order in the PDF, none of the doc headings or text is tagged. I've done all of the export tagging in paragraph styles, ticked the necessary boxes when exporting to interactive PDF, and arranged the layers panel / articles panel accordingly. After completing the data merge, all the fields are correct, but the image section displays an error. I've linked the image in Excel, which is a PNG file. How can I fix this? What might I be doing wrong when filling it in Excel?     <Title renamed by MOD>    

Hello there! I know there is not a ARM version of InDesign yet, but I thought it would have been possible to download the application in emulation mode, it doesn't appear to be possible (Creative Cloud doesn't list InDesign in the apps when I open it on my laptop). I have a large text box that takes up a full page (8.5x11in.) and I'd like to break up the body copy in the large text box into smaller text boxes. Is there a simple way to do this without creating a bunch of smaller text boxes with the Type Tool and cutting and pasting sections from the large text box into those smaller text boxes?     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hi, I have an InDesign file that recently turned south.  I can open InDesign, navigate to the file and attempt the open the file, but the bar will fill only about 3/4s of the way before InDesign crashes suddenly.  InDesign crashes a subsequent time if I open the program too soon there after.  I am able to open InDesign a third time without restarting my computer.  I can attempt to recover the file this time but InDesign crashes a third time suddenly.  I will repeat the process again only alter it in an attempt pursue another troubleshooting avenue.  Any help would be grately appreciated.  The file is approximately 134Mb.  Thank you.     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hello,   I am using the index. The comma between the pagenumbers is red, instead of black. I cannot find anything in the styling of the index that explains it. I use the same style of index in other books, without this problem. I can I get black comma's?     René   <Title renamed by MOD>

Having a really bad experience with Indesign at moment. Been using for about 12 years, on latest cloud version.  Objects such as drawn indesign objects and svg are suddenly going missing when Publishing Online.  All since 3rd March (yesterday).  Have rolled back to earlier file version, but also having the same problems, wondering if it's a program software issue?   Any help appreciated

Is there an easy way to put a stroke around a square/rectangle but for it only to appear on 3 or 2 sides? Besides using the pen tool and then adding a stroke to two intersecting lines.   I love the Corner Option where you can manually select each corner to customize it (ie, only one corner round vs all). Bonjour, voilà mon problème, nous travaillons à plusieurs sur des documents InDesign et avec la fonctionnalité Partage pour révision les autres collaborateurs ne peuvent pas modifier le document InDesign et mettre à jour la Révision, un message d'erreur leur indique qu'ils ne sont pas les créateurs du lien de révision. Ma question, comment donner l'autorisation au autre collaborateur de mettre à jour le lien de révision. Merci pour votre réponse.

Having a weird issue currently when I bring a jpg image into my file it is randomly removing parts of the file as per the screen shot.  I can't really explain what happens,   If I cut the background out and import as a png it seems fine, but I don't have time to remove backgrounds on every sing image I am creating a large catalogue. I have tried importing into a completely blank file and it still happens. when I open in photoshop it is a complete image.Have also tried closing indesign and restarting computer. have a decent computer with 64gb ram, 2tb nvme drive which has 1.44 tb free and a asus rtx 4070 121gb graphics card so system should be more than adequate. Any help would be appreciated.

On my Mac Studio, The workspace windows on all my Adobe products shift down by several hundred pixels every time the screen saver comes on. I'm trying to understand if this is a known issue or unique to my system. It's just weird. See screen shots   <Title renamed by moderator>

how to add alt text in hyperlinks using indesign javascript...!

Hello,    I have a pictures section in a book I am working on. Each picture has a short caption in its own text box with a 'caption' paragraph style applied which has the text centered.  When I open the exported epub in a Kindle or Kindle viewer, the caption is broken into two lines even though there should be plenty of room to keep it a single line.   I've attached three pics: InDesign shows how it looks before export;  Kindle shows how the line breaks early; and Apple shows the epub in Apple Books - oddly enough it looks OK there.   Any idea how to have the captions stick to one line until absolutely necessary?    Thanks!   <Title renamed by MOD>

I turned off the facing pages setting in my file, and now it only applies to the right-hand side of my parent pages on every page. Does anyone know what's going on? Thank you so much in advance!!!!

I've been using InDesign CS6 with Creative Cloud for years---that's what the publisher I work for uses. No problems until today, when I opened it and the PDApp opened and said the trial version had expired. There is no trial version---I've been paying $20+ a month for CC, and everything was fine until today. There was a power outage last week. Did I get signed out, and did that ruin my ability to open/use CS6. The online and phone support was no help---they just told me to get the latest version, which isn't an option right now.

IF I didn't rely on this program, I would deleted it from my computer.  InDesign "help" is beyond useless:  difficult or impossible to find answers to find anything.  Now answers to many simple, obvious questions.  <disparaging personal remarks removed>  Unless they were instructed by Adobe Management to cut costs until "support" was a joke that they would not have to maintain anymore.  Seriously, this is criminal, especially in light of subscription raises. At the next InDesign event I'm going to bring a bullhorn and make the lives of all the Creative Pro sycophants who think Adobe is so god-like, as miserable as possible.  If it wasn't for Googleing actual users for solutions, I would never have anything explained to me.  

I'm working on a book created in PowerPoint (eek!). I know I can make PDFs of all the PPT pages and then place them page by page (126 pages) into a blank InDesign document, but is there any way to export/import the whole PPT doc into InD? HOLD THE PRESSES! I found https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/place-a-multipage-pdf-in-indesign/td-p/11343293 and it worked perfectly!!

Bonjour à toutes et à tous,Je fais face à un très gros problème.Un fichier a été validé (livre de 440 pages), donc je m'en vais générer le sommaire. Ce faisant, je m'aperçois que j'ai utilisé un même style pour deux problèmes distincts, je créé un nouveau style et me mets à l'appliquer aux endroits adéquats. Et là : erreur adobe, le document se referme. Je l'ouvre et lance la récupération, et c'est là que les embrouilles commencent. Le texte a disparu. Pourtant, il doit bien être là, car on voit distinctement les séparations des notes de bas de page.J'en ai par la suite fait une copie, un export en idml... toujours le même résultat. J'ai tenté un assemblage pour me l'envoyer sur un autre PC, plus rien ne répondait. Après 15 longues minutes, j'ai mis fin avec le gestionnaire de tâches. En rouvrant, ils me proposent de lancer une récupération. Lorsque j'accepte, l'ensemble du document se ferme avec un message d'erreur, et cela, en boucle.Je ne comprends pas du tout ce qui a pu se passer

I might be asking for the moon... To avoid bogging down while working. we have documents linked to low-res JPGs on our smb network. When it comes time to print, we make a temporary copy of the document and relink to high-res PSDs in order to make a print PDF. The "Relink to Folder > Match Filename but this Extension" is perfect except... most of our thousands of high-res images are in individual subfolders. Right now our individual users search for and copy high-res images (might be 60+ for one document) temporarily to a single folder on their desktops and relink to that folder with the "extensions" option on... Ugh. I found a cool script on YouTube to search subfolders, but does anyone know of a script to both relink to images with different extensions AND search subfolders? Thanks.

Bonjour à tous,  Je suis une jeune graphiste qui utilise donc beaucoup Indesign et récemment il ne cessait de mouliner. Dès que je bougeais un bloc texte ou que je commencais à écrire , il ramait (avec le curseur qui devient multicolor). Et depuis hier, j'ouvre l'application, tout semble fonctionner et d'un coup j'ai un message qui me demande si je souhaite enregistrer mon ficher et indesign se ferme tout seul.  C'est entrain de me rendre folle, d'autant plus que je travaille sur un projet pour un client... Si quelqu'un à une solution je suis preneuse !  Merci d'avance

I placed a .psd into my InDesign project from the creative cloud, and for a while it was working great. Whenever I would update the Photoshop document, a simple reload would refresh the changes into the InDesign doc. However, I had some technical issues and was forced to uninstall and then reinstall InDesign. Now the .psd needs to be relinked, but for the life of me I can find no option to link a document from the creative cloud.  (I know I could just dowload the .psd and then relink it from my hard drive, but I feel like I'm going insane not being able to find this button.)
