Moin Community, ich bin Indesin Laie und erstelle damit unsere Vereinszeitung. Ich würde gerne eine Werbeanzeige passend umfliesen lassen, doch egal welche Option ich wähle funktionieren tut es mit keiner.Eine Eingabe der mm Zahlen ändert auch nichts und wenn ich nicht das direkt Auswahlwerkzeug nehmen also "blauer Rand" tut sich auch nichts. Danke für eure Unterstützung! Viele GrüßeChristoph

Hello all,I'm trying to create a digital version of a newspaper I have worked on for a client. It's on its 17th edition now and I've not come across this problem before - everything has always worked perfectly.Two of the links/images are missing from the digital version. Everything looks fine on various browsers on my Mac but the two images appear to be missing when my client tries to view the newspaper on her PC.Any ideas? I'm stumped!One of the images is a pdf and the other is a jpeg so I can't even put it down to file type. The same document contains lots of jpegs and pdf links/images so not sure why these two would keep throwing up problems.Thanks!

I've seen a few other posts about this but they were older and no one really provided an answer for my specific situation.I was having some trouble with an 8-page InDesign CC 2014 file (on a Mac) so I tried to export it as an IDML file. As soon as I clicked "export," InDesign crashed. I tried a few more things, such as saving the file as 1, 2, or 3 of the pages at once, and every time I tried to export, the same thing happened. So I created a new file, imported the text again (from Excel), and applied all the paragraph style to the text. Everything seemed fine until I tried to copy a bit of the text. When I selected "Copy," InDesign hung and I had to force quit.After that, I decided to change the parameters of some of the paragraph styles to see if that might help. As I was trying to make changes, I selected "Bullets and Numbering" because one of my paragraph style includes bullets. I'll cut to the chase. Hello, Everytime I select an object or text, a second border appears outside the first border. I don't know how to desactivate this second border. Thansk for your help

Wondering if anyone knows how to have an item (logo or text box) that is on a Parent Page and properly tagged respect that tagging when creating an ADA PDF. It seems items on the Parent Pages are ignored.

Hi everyone,I'm a graphic designer working on medical-related projects, and I often encounter technical medical terms in my InDesign files. Unfortunately, many of these terms are highlighted as spelling errors by InDesign's dynamic spelling feature, even when they are correct. Sometimes, genuine misspellings get overlooked because they resemble legitimate medical terms. I tried US Medical Disctionary. But its not covering all the Medical words.To streamline my workflow, I'm considering extracting all the words flagged by dynamic spelling from my proofread and approved files. I plan to compile these terms into a list and add them to my user dictionary in InDesign.Could anyone advise on the best way to collect these dynamically highlighted words in bulk? Would love to know if Indesign plans on having a 'share' feature to invite people to edit the document. This would be very helpful for a team of designers so we can collaborate toegther using the one document. This feature is availble on Illustrator, but not on Indesign. 

I use Acrobat to make comments from a proofreader and then import them to InDesign for the designers to make changes. When I import the comments, some of the comments are no longer mapped to the text. I have noticed that it appears to be comments for text that has a stroke or effect on it or has a photo behind it. That does not seem to be the only case of the comments that come unmapped, but just a couple of commonalities that I noticed. These are not parent page items. Is there a fix for this issue? 

HelloI embebed an mp3 file into the InDesign v. 15 doc. I create the button with all parameter. In preview I do clic on the button and the music sounds but when I export to pdf(pdf2024) nothing happens. Please. I dont know what else to do.Ana 

On an imac I recently upgraded to INDD 10.5. I'm still using the previous version as well. Since then, after I download a file to the download file on my computer, it opens fine, but when I transfer or copy it to an external hard drive Iand try to save it, I get an error message that the file is damaged. Frustrating to say the least. 

Just purchased an InDesign template from Adobe Express. When attempting to copy-paste items in this template, InDesign immediately crashes. Really unhelpful when trying to (re)design the original layout. Having to restart InDesign every couple of minutes gets quite frustrating. What to do? My InDesign CC is (automatically) updated, so I guess its the template that might be corrupt. Why sell a corrupt template in Adobe Express is the next anwer...hope someone can help me out!

I have a problem that seems to be getting worse. About six months ago, InDesign started showing the old instead of the new text on my screen. For example, I replaced the text in the frame with a new one, went to another page and came back - and it showed me the old page with the old text. However, after tapping the cursor on the text in frame, although the old text was displayed, it indicated the new text. It marked line breaks, words... of new text. It worked with the new text but still displayed the old one. A higher level was added yesterday. The text disappeared. It was showing empty frames. But the text was in them. It was only when I reassigned a color to him - the same one he had, that it showed him. After saving, closing and opening the file, it displays the text correctly. This happens during work. Desde hace un tiempo cuando quiero añadir un elemento o editarlo en una biblioteca en indesign 18.5.2 no me deja.Cuando quiero añadirlo se queda pensando la biblioteca, hasta que desaparece el elemento.Cuando quiero editar, al dar doble click para editar, simplemente no hace nada, y no se abre para editar... Alguna idea, muchas gracias

I cannot insert discretionary hyphens. When I type in the appropriate command or select it from the Type menu, nothing happens. The option appears grayed out. What is causing this?

Inherited an Indesign file and can't figure out how this text frame within text frame works. The boxes within have different tabs length on the top. Checked anchored objects and it doesn't seem to be it. Anyone with ideas? (Used filler text in e.g. screenshot for privacy here)   

Note: Cross-posting for better user feedback and visibility.   Adobe Express now has built-in AI translation services for their product. For some reason, I can't get the Table of Contents to keep the adjustments I make. I choose the headings, I assign a style to each, I choose OK and the TOC looks good. If I make an edit to one of the headings then select Update Table of Contents, it returns to the previous settings and I'm starting all over. In order to dial in my TOC, I must continually choose the Headings and Styles over and over until I get the TOC right. The Update feature is worthless at this point.  Am I missing something? I have updated to the most recent version. I've been working in InDesign for well over a decade, and this situation popped up out of nowhere in one of the recent releases.  Is there a new setting I need to adjust? Any help is appreciated. I hope there is someone who can help as this is driving me nuts. I am creating braiile signs that uses data merge to import text and images.  Importing etc is all OK. My issue is that i cant get the images to left align.  They only want to centre align.  I ahvbe tried creating. a text box and embedding the imnage in that and then align paragraph but the symbols sill centre align within the image boundaries.  The only one tht works correctly is whennI have 4 symbols and i suspect that it is conicindence and still centre justfied.

How can I change the language from English-UK to French for one Indesign document ? I do not want to change the default language of the application, since I am working simultaneously with the French and English versions of the same document.

Hi All,  I have a question about data import to InDesign project.Currently we have data on few excel files which are marge in one big excel sheet  (wich have a lot of formulas to marge data) and base on that we generate txt file to import it into InDesign project.Is there any easier option to import data to InDesign? Sorry for my unknowledge in InDesign but as data administrator we are looking for more simple solution, currently because of InDesign usage we have all data in excel sheet and I want to change it.  Thanks in advance for any help.
