Hello! We have created our first working xml import from our JATS XML documents and have mapped all styles as needed... or so we tought. Now the volume is final, with several local modifications to improve the typesettings and we were asked to change the style of an inline element (citation_key). The good thing is, the tag is already in the text, the bad thing is we don't want to use again "Tag to Style" option, because it will destroy all the manual typesetting. The citation keys are several hundreds...Can I somehow select the tagged text to apply a character style? is a script my only option? Can I apply only one style and keep all the other safe/locked?

Can anyone help, please?I have a document with hyperlinks to text anchors. They all work when I export as an interactive PDF, but when I publish online they stop working.I also have some buttons which link to the same text anchors. The buttons work, it's just the hyperlinks that don't work.TIA

I have been working with a project in Indesign all day but the last few hours the copy/paste-function doesn´t work at all. I can´t copy text or pictures within the project or from Word. The copy/paste function seems gone. What has happened?     {Renamed by MOD}

Hey everybody, What is the origin of the term "pasteboard"? (Not as related to paper stock.) Does anyone have a picture of a pasteboard in pre-DTP days?

Able to share for review, but when trying to update after making changes.  Indesign gets stuck here and I have to force quit.  It never updates

Pour le résoudre, il faut exporter un IDML, l'ouvrir avec INDD 18.5 et exporter le .pdf. C'est juste catastrophique. Hi there, I'm a bit stuck and hoping someone can help. I've recently seen an Adobe Online presentation that has a few features I'm trying to implement and can't quite figure out how they did it. The presentation seems to be utilizing features from the in5 plugin, for example: fixed overlay elements, scrolling single page document, parralax backgrounds, etc etc. I've downloaded in5 and figured out how to use all these features, but can only export the presentation as html5. I have also learned how to host the html5 file on other hosting sites, such as tiinyhost.com, but the main issue is I need this to be in Adobe Publish Online. Long story short, my company's website has a presentation portal for clients, and it only supports embedding a link specifcally hosted by Adobe.  Can any of you have a look at this presentation and help me problem solve how they managed to get the in5 presentation to display correctly via Adobe Publish Online?  Example is attached.&nbsp

I applied bevel/emboss to an image, since then those effects multiply themselves and appear repeatedly across that image. I can get rid of them with "clear transformations" but they continue to reappear at random. The image is from iPhone 13 and I am using the latest ID vers. 19.5. See attached example. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm trying to use a process I've used for years. Now it doesn't work. I have an InDesign document with fields; I chose a data source, which seems to work, but I don't get a panel showing the Fields, so I can't drag data fields from the panel to frames on the page. I'm using InDesign 2024 on a MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.3.1

Good afternoon.I need your help in finalizing the save script.There is a script that saves a folder with fonts, IDML and INDD documents to a separate folder using doc.package For Print.I need to make a ZIP archive from the folder it saves to. The main problem is that the working folders and files are not stored on the local machine, but on network storage.The folder is created new each time using a script.There is no way to assign a specific folder on the NAS to the app.packageUCF method, as it will cause a lot of confusion in the files (the script is used by several people for a large number of files). Maybe someone can tell me how to specify the path to the network folder to the app.packageUCF method?

Hello everyone, I need to bold part numbers within a product listing. The supplied file has a tab at the start and then the part number and then an additional tab. The file also has additional columns/tabs so I need the GREP to only look at the first and second tab and bold everything between those. Their part numbers are not consistent in character count and can include letters, numbers, spaces and dashes. I am trying to get into this world of GREP but I need help. Thank you.

Hi, We have a use case where we download assets in AEM which would contain some renditions. These are downloaded as zip files but when we try to unzip using Mac Archive Utility they wouldn't open rather we have to use some third party applications to unzip. What complicates it is that not all zip files open using the same third party unzip application. We observed that we are seeing this issue only when the file type is .idml and wondersing if there is a work around to unzip .idml files using Mac archive utility. Thanks! 

I truly have no idea what I did. I was having a problem with indesign crashing everytime I tried to add a page to my spread, so I saved it as IDML. I forgot to rename it, but when I opened it, this happened and it is on the entire pasteboard/every page in the file. Please help, freaking out a bit! I am a self taught Indd. user, but this is for my job. Thanks!  

Is it possible to create a cross reference to take users to another page, and select an option from there to fill out the form? For example, we need users to select a siding type (horizontal vinyl, board and batten, architectural shakes) when they select one the hyperlink would take them to the page where the sample colors are listed. When they would pick one it would return them to the main page to keep filling out the form?

Hello all,I have changed the language of all the styles of my indesign document, but the red underligning still shows as previously. I have discovered I need to cut/paste the text for the grammar checker to recalculate for the new language: is there a way to do this "updating" automatically instead of doing it for every single text zone?Thanks!

Buenas, ¿cómo puedo automatizar en Indesign 2024, que la última línea de un párrafo no sea una línea corta, con corta me refiero a que no quede una sola palabra… en edición profesional, la útlima línea de un párrafo debe tener como mínimo el mismo espacio que el margen… Adjunto imagen. Gracias

I am posting this bug report here, as well as at the Uservoice, because I'm hoping that people can discover it here and upvote it at the Uservoice.   https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/48650594-button-value   I'm elbows-deep in a major 25-langauge localization project, and I've found a bug where anything outside of ASCII in a "button value" fails to export to interactive PDF. Since it's a long & complicated form, I'm hoping to avoid being stuck with post-export remediation of the incomplete PDF.    If I set the Button Value in the Buttons and Forms panel: and export to Interactive PDF, then the Button Value drops any character outside of ASCII: Note that the Vietnamese has lost half its glyphs, and the Russian is gone entirely.       

whenever i create a new document, there are these green squares on the page. they are not guides, neither are they defined somewhere else in indesign. somehow, they are visually interfering when doing graphics or layout as there are guidelines and baseline grids, which i use more. is there a way to hide theese green squares and what are they even called? going to preview mode is not an option as it does not show margins and baseline grids.

Hi There! I'm wondering if anyone can help  - I'm trying to use a grep code to format the running foot text for a book I'm working on. The running foot text would have a movie title and year in parentheses, ideally looking like "Psycho (1960)". As of now, I have a paragraph style for the RF text set to italics, and I'm hoping to create a rule so the text within the parentheses could have a character style, keeping them roman.  I've tried a couple different grep codes I found on similar boards, as well as selecting my own rules using drop-down menu options, coming out to:Apply Style: RF rom (year)To Text: "\(\d+\)". But nothing seems to make a difference.I'm wondering if anyone can help, thank you!

Hey all, I received a package 10 days ago and everything worked perfectly: the fonts downloaded automatically and the images were all linked correctly.I've opened the file today after I hadn't touched anything in the package and it seems to be broken: it can't find the fonts and the images seem to be corrupted.Is this a known issue? and if so, do you have any advice on how to solve it?Thank you very much!
