Lightroom Classic

I used Lightroom 4 for years on an old iMac computer.  I couldn't upgrade Lightroom beyond that point because the computer operating system had reached its limit.  I now have a new MacBook Air, and have signed up for a trial subscription to use Lightroom Classic.  My old back up files are all on a Time Machine external drive.  I moved these files from that drive onto the desktop of the new computer: LR4 Catalog-original.lrcat, LR4 Catalog original.lrdata, LR4 Catalog-Previews original.lrdata, and LR4 Catalog-original.lrcat-journal.  I have changed all the permissions on each of them to "read and write", and I changed the permissions for the desktop too.  I've given full access to LrC.  And still I only get this message when I try to open the catalog:  "Lightroom cannot use the catalog named Lightroom 4 catalog-original because it is not writable and cannot be opened."  I don't know what else to try.  

I had an issue with my pc and restored it to the last time it was possible this morning.Now I can't open my lightroom catalog and I keep getting this message.I tried this solution that didn't helphttps://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/failure-in-opening-catalog.htmlWhat else can I do? 

This is something has been around for quite a while but, still, no right answer. I CANNOT seem to find a way in this green Earth to access images in Lightroom Classic (the latest version) in order to edit them!I can see them in Adobe Bridge, I can see them in if I access them through Photoshop, I can see them in This PC but CANNOT get them on Lightroom!!!!! If I do a "Synchronize Folder" then they show but, they all are grayed out. Not the option at the top of the page, but the images themselves. (there's no pic tool that shows up, btw). I have tried everything suggested since this question was posted 4 years ago.  I've updated the monitor profile - nothing- Re installed LR- nothing- Imported, copied, added - nothing! I've watched videos, read forums and talked to other LR users. Hi, I had a shoot mid September where I was shooting Fuji tethered to LR Classic and there was a bug where it produced to raw files for each I shot.  It was super annoying.  Don't know if this has been fixed.  I called Fuji and they seemed to say it was an LR bug which seemed right since there weren't duplicate files in the cards of the camera.  Did this get fixed? Every time I import photos it defaults to My Pictures on my C: drive. I can manually change it each time but I'd like to set a new default location. 

Lightroom Classic 14.5.1MacBook Pro 14 M4 ProTahoe 26.1 When Collections are filtered by a term and you drag a photo to a collection, the photo gets added but the collection photo count does not change. The collection photo count doesn't update until you remove the filter or change the filter. Although i'm on Tahoe, I feel this has been a issue for a long time. 

Dear Adobe Team, despite having followed some recent tipps (like deleting preferences in the library, deleting cache, changing the performance settings, deactivating modules etc.) my Lightroom Classic V14.4 is working very very slowly in the developer module: going to the next image is lacking performance and is delayed, copying the image settings to the clipboard is delayed 2-3 seconds... All this happened directly after updating from the previous version befor 14.4.My hardware was not changed in between, catalog was/is the same etc. Working on a Mac Studio M1 with 64GB Ram OS Sequioa 15.5, just one display.LR classic 14.4 It would be super nice if there would be a more helpful tipp or update to get back to the previous performance. Best regards Jan

The new Lightroom version has a major bug in the map module!When you try to position a photo somewhere on the map Lightroom 6.8 assigns a wrong position (near the spot).

I have incidentally discovered some very strange behavior when exporting images via a Publish Service. It only happens when the images are located within a folder structure and I select the top folder to update all the subfolders. The Publish Service is set to export a JPG quality of 60%, but only the first exported folder is correct, all subsequent ones are 100%. This can result in files that are many times larger.  The problem can easily be avoided by exporting one folder at a time instead of all at once. However, with many folders, this can be quite time-consuming. My old Mac can only run an old version of LR Classic (11.41) and I don't know if the problem still exists in newer versions, but I just wanted to mention it anyway.

Hi there!I recently updated my old LR (v5) to LR CC Classic (8.2) and reinstalled VSCO presets. The problem is that when I apply a VSCO preset (canon) in a raw file (canon) the VSCO camera profile is missing. And I cannot import them manually in the profile navigator.I have checked that VSCO preset are correctly stored in my user library. In particular:HD Mac / users / my user / Library / Application Support / adobe / camera raw Camera profiles / Vsco film Canon profilesSettings / Vsco film 1 / toolkit / toolikit colorMy OS is Mojave and the library user is hidden. W11-64LrC 14.5.1When I put a modification on the picture, the XMP file is not générated.In the catalog preferences, the "write automaticly..." is on, and the tag is not "in pause"Previously, it worked  and I have the XMP I have .DNG files (is it a problem with that ?)Thanks

Hello, all. I just bought a brand new Canon R6 Mk II. I've been on several shoots and I'm bothered my some anomaly on two of them. when I import photos into Lightroom classic the import goes well, all thumbnail previews look good. However, when I go to the develope tab, about one third of them show this: the file appears to be unsupported or damaged. the image can't be edited like this. There is nothing different about these files. They were all imported together from the same SD card. this is the second time this has happened. The loss of these images is devastating. What is going on? 

Hello community. I'm using Lightroom Classic 11.3.1 on an M1 Mac running Sequoia 15.6.1 Lightroom has been fine for approxximately 14 years but today I noticed I cannot edit photos in Develop mode for photos that are on an external HD.No 'Unlink Exclamation Marks' are visible.You can navigate to the photos using 'Show in Finder' so it definitely knows where they areSecurity permissions are open. 

I keep my photos on an external SSD (call it Prime) and my LrC catalog on my desktop internal SSD. I recently ran into a problem of wanting to add ~22,000 photos from several SD cards to my Prime, but there was not enough capacity left. I had to use Adobe Bridge to do initial culling for each SD card and could then get the remaining files (~13,000) to fit on Prime, so that I could import them into LrC. Shortly after, I found myself facing an unusual (for me) situation and was forced, for the first time, to deal with using the same catalog, and Prime, from two different computers. Without doing the proper amount of research (I was in a big hurry), I simply copied the entire Lightroom folder from my desktop to another exteranl SSD (call it Catalog) and could simply move the two SSD (Prime and Catalog from one system to the other. either is a headache. i'm not feeling like diving into a new build right now so upgrade GPU is prefered for now. I have a 500W PSU and 2 available 6 pin PCIe connectors. I have an RTX 1650. Lr's Denoise takes about 1-2 minutes. I could upgrade to an RTX 3050 which is still 70W and can be powerd by the PCIe 3.0 slot. Without making any other changes, could anybody tell me what that would do for improving Lr's Denoise times?

It's been a while since I used Lr (like a year, and prior to that, many years), and when I opened LrC, there were a number of pop-ups and prompts that I can't remember what exactly they were or what order they were in, but I know there was one about a corrupt catalog, and a pop-up asking if I wanted to sync to the current catalog or another catalog, and I can't remember which one I selected because I was confused on what either of them were and what would happen if I selected one or the other. My current lrc catalog/library is completely empty, but I still have my thousands of photos in my lr cloud. I have new photos that I just took yesterday that I want to add to lrc and eventually sync to the cloud.  1) Do I have to sync my existing photos from the cloud to lrc and therefore downloading them to my computer, before importing new photos into my currently empty lrc if I want to sync the new photos to my cloud where all my other photos are?2) Will syncing from an almost empty

I use Lightroom V6.0 and have done for a few years and never had a problem, I use Windows 11 up to date. When creating a vertical hdr panorama of 4 photo, each one of them composed by 5 photo in hdr, I've highlight blown even if the information are all there in the underexposed shots. It seems like lightroom, when clicking hdr panorama tries to uniform the shot by lifting the shadows and burning the highlights of the composed photo. I've already checked that when clicking hdr panorama the "automatic settings" is NOT selected. Attached you can find the result. I've also tried first to created the single hdr, and then creating the panorama but the results are the same...

When trying to edit an image from within Lightroom Classic to Photoshop 2025 I am getting this message:When i click on Learn More in the error message it is telling me to re-install Adobe Photoshop 2025.  How do I re-install it?

I started creating a book in the Book Module and before finishing clicked on Create A Saved Book.  The Book ("curated_bk_wc") was based on the Collection which is shown above it in the screenshot below, whch has a total of 311 photos.  At some point I got up to do something and when I came back to my computer, the Saved Book only had 33 photos in it (I am quite certain it was initially showing all of the photos in the Collection it was based upon).  The photos in the Saved Book are a mix of photos in the Book and others from the Collection not in the Book.  Why is the Saved Book showing this asssortment of photos and not some other and how can I add other photos not among the 33 in the Saved Book Collection but in the "all_photographs..." Collection it is based upon?  Thanks.  

Lightroom Classic v14.5.1 - I tried rolling back to v14.4 (as per some conversation threads on adobe forums), but still no change.  I have started noticing this behaviour for the last month or so now, where applying my presets (I even tried with a brand new preset), simply "applies" it to my photos, but until I manually Update AI settings, nothing really happens. Same behaviour even when I sync changes to other photos. Now if I could mass select and update AI settings consistently, I wouldn't mind. But even that does not seem to work all the time. I will noticed some photos don't have denoise applied, some don't have masks applied, and so on. And there is no clear indication from grid view on which photos have pending AI updates. It looks okay when I sync, but clicking on an individual photo reveals that either blur or masks or denoise hasn't applied correctly and I need to manually apply to each individual photo. Previously, I could apply my preset on a 5
