Lightroom Classic

When creating a mak and using the add or subtract with the brush tool there is no need to keep selecting the brush when you want to brush over multiple areas of the image. If I do this with the object tool I need to select an object, then hit add again, choose object and select the next portion. This is an incredible waste of time. The object tool often is faster and has better precision. Come to think og it, the add or subtract should be sticky until you turn it off. I am pretty sure I am missing something here and it is just an issue of me not knowing how to get this to work in such a way.

I have LR 14.4 and a new Nikon Z8 with 45 megapixal images. I recently switched back to Nikon from a Sony A7R (42 megapixel). I run LR on a 2019 maxed out IMAC (all SSD and 16GB RAM). Yes, it's not the newest in the world, but it handled the Sony RAW files just fine. Building previews took 2-4 seconds per file, so uploading 1000 RAW files took about an hour to generate all the previews. Note, I haven't used my Sony for big shoots in a while, so these times are with an older version of LR. I just uploaded 250 files from my Nikon and it took an hour to generate the previews (10-17 seconds per file). All 6 cores were at 100%, and even though I have "Use Graphics Processor" on Auto (It says my system fully supports acceleration), my GPU history shows that the GPU is not being touched while building previews. Does LR only use the GPU on Apple M chips and no longer Radeon or Intel? This is way slower than it used to be.

I have the follwoing structure on Pictures folder on my Mac Book: Folder Work in Progress, contained in Pictures Folder. When I select Work in Porgess and Synchronize it , Lightroom syncronizes all the Pictues Folder and not just Work in Progress.  

New Folder in LrC I recently changed computers, and since then, when I import photos, everything works correctly, but it created a new folder on my LrC desktop instead of continuing to use the one I already had. Now I have two folders: the old one:External Hard Drive/Images/Lightroom Photos And the new one it created:External Hard Drive/Images/Lightroom Photos/2025 Each folder has its own photo count, and it won't let me move folders from one place to another. How could I have a single folder with the hierarchy I already had and the total photo count? Thanks   

I've been encountering the same issue when attempting to move a file from Lightroom to Photoshop using the "Edit in Photoshop" link.  I get this error: "Lightroom is not allowed to control Photoshop.  Make sure this is allowed in System Preferences>Security & Privacy>Automation".  I've only been experiencing this since recently updating my programs with the May 2025 updates.  Anything you can recommend to resolve?   [Branched off from a non-related thread by moderator]

help! i am in big problem   all of my presets that i used from user presets tab in lightroom are gone and i cannot find them in my folders also   this happened now after updating   they disappeared from my macbook and from my desktop pc also   {made reader-friendly}

I wanted to bring attention to Adobe. There is a bug in the new Lightroom Classic 14.5 update.   I downloaded the update and immediately had problems with the previews connecting to the files.  An error message popped up on the thumbnails when I clicked on it and would not render the photos correctly.   I had to uninstall the update 14.5 and go back to 14.4.   I hope Adobe can address this issue.   Thanks John

I converted my Apple Photos library on my Mac to LRc using the Avalanche program.  All Apple folders became collection sets and all albums in those folders became collections.  When I synch one of these collections to the cloud, an album by the same name is created but it has no pictures in it.  When I create a new collection - even in the same collection set - it synchs just fine.  Album and pics show up as expected.  What's wrong?  

Using LrC ver 14.3.1 on macOS 15.5..I've had 73 photos stuck in sync activity for the last 90 days, I made a little progress (I'm down to 65 now), but wondering if there's any new remedies or workarounds now available since beginning of 2025?Here's how I got from 73 -> 65 images stuck in the sync activity listThe vast majority of the issues are metadata. I clicked on the asset path to go to the file in my collection and saw msgs like below when I clicked on the sync arrow in top right of imageBy clicking "save", and waiting a couple minutes, some the list of files decreased a little.This didn't work for the next 10 items in the sync stuck list so I'm looking for other ideas.I also tried unchecking the box to stop syncing the collection(s) the photo was in. But even after the collection was no longer marked to sync with the cloud, it's *still* in the sync stuck list. Frustrating.mike

Ventura 13.7.7 LRc 14.5I recently added a new ext hd to my system. It is now the source for ALL photo images. I previously used a different ext hd, but when I bought the new one, I copied everything from the old one to the new one. My new catalogs are on the new hard drive, but older catalogs still try to find images on the older, now empty or non existent, external drives, resulting in a lot of time wasted before the message appears that LR cannot find them.I wish to edit the folders panel in Library to have solely the new external drive there as a source for all of my images, old and new, and remove sourcing from all old external drives that were previously used. I have tried to edit with the + and - swtiches, but that has done nothing, ie cannot add nor remove. If I choose import on the lower left, it brings up the import screen, and shows all of my external drives, but when I choose the new external drive, it begins importing all of its contained images—something I don't think I wa

in Lr 14 kann ich weder unter Beschriftung, Titel oder Bildunterschrift in der Bibliothek etwas eintragen. Der Eintrag erscheint höchstens in nur  1 Foto und nicht in allen Markierten. Weiß jemand Abhilfe? Benie

Running LR 14.5. All of a sudden a large numer of images are gone, with the message: “_MG_2137-Edit.tif” could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it? They can be located, with an appropriate response! What happened??Is this a fixable problem?

Bought a new computer and immediately installed lightroom classic to edit photos for my business. Worked just fine. Then the next time I tried to use it, my compter had linked my old computer lightroom information and now I it will not allow me to import new photos to edit. I have tried uninstalling and then re-installing Lightroom. So frustrated and have spent hours on this and nothing is working. I need help! Please!

 Windows 11 It's reporting the following error, intermittently when synching metadate over multiple images.  This can sometimes be fixed by closing/opening LRC, sometimes, not so much ~~~~~~Arggh, I couldn't replicate, but the error was to the effect that the database or catalog failed ~~~~~  Rebooting the computer was the only working solution.It's also Refusing to accept my titles and descriptions.  When I enter them and move to the next file, if I return to the one just edited, there is no title nor description.  If I type the first letter of the title previously entered, the suggestion of the entire title appears.  After closing and reopening several times, the title and description finally appear.  This is not a lightning fast computer, but it's no slowpoke, either. Also, when two images are stacked and one of them is labeled red, it cannot be unlabeled withoug unstacking 

Hello, I'm finding that LRc starts to become less responsive after a few minutes of edting pictures. I see this mainly in simple things like trying to crop a picture, or even scroll through the filmstrip at the bottom of the screen in Develop mode. The program stops and starts and jerks as I try to do things. I try things like clearing the cache, restarting and it doesn't seem to fix it. I've tried to use the denoise on a Lossless and compressed L RAW files from my A7IV. Initially it will start the process then stop. When I import files from my Autel Evo 2 Pro V3 the .dngs look completely different than the actual photos. They import fine but when I click on them the zoom level changes and they turn neon red - the white balance sliders go to the far ends. Also the only profile availble is "XL706" and I can't add or change others. Adaptive color is the only other option and it makes the colors worse.  No amount of sliding fixes this insane color. Everything looked fine while taking the photos but they are unusable.  I shot on auto white baalcne and tried again at 5500k - does not make a difference. The other thing is all my presets are in italics aka will not work with the selected photos which is a dng, which is what I used to make the preset. This does not happen with any other photos from any other camera. For $3500 this drone f*cking blows. Do not buy it. 20MP my ass, 6k? Nope, 4k? Maybe but its a stretch. Controls are garabge too.  Any ideas whats happeni

I messed up moving files around outside Lightroom to the point there is no longer any convention in the file names. My situation now is that I have a missing folder with 222 images. Those 222 images are present in the folder with 687 images. Is there a way to find them automatically by matching metadata such as time taken?

Do I need to disable color management in LR when printing with custom ICC?

I have a 2017 Mac book pro but I cannot update the operating system to 13 or above, which is required to install the latest version of Lightroom. AS a consequece I cannot currently use LR on my Mac. The mac is in perfect working order and I have no desire to buy a new one. Is there anytging I can do?
