Lightroom Classic

Hi all,since I upgraded from LRC 13.4 which worked flawlessly to 14.3.1 on my Macbook Air M3 on Sequoia 15.4.1 ; I see Cpu consumption extremely going up beyond 100celsius and GPU temperatures upt ot 80celsius; It seems following to me:- For some reason rendering preview data consumes much more CPU/GPU than before- For some reason even consuming almost all CPU/GPU for rendering of Previews is much much slower- For some reason on switch ot the next Image the preview seems to be rendered/caclulated again, CPU/GPU ruuning to 105c/80c degrees for about 2-3 seconds. On LRC 13.4 this worked as expected, fast only short spikes of CPU and after rendering of previews very fast with low CPU as you woud expect from the 2nd fastest ARM CPU beside the M4; But even with more CPU-Power it seems all CPU is sucked up like in a black whole.I deed already a lot- purged review cache- Resetted LR Preferences- Deleted the review Cache and then started the LRC againThe Preview Cache for 81 Nikon Z8

I was having an issue with Lightroom Classic 13.4 staying on top of all other windows when using it. Selecting another app in the task bar did not bring up that app on top of Lightroom, I had to minimize Lightroom in order to see any other application, including Photoshop when I would attempt to open an image in PS from Lightroom. I am running Windows 11, version 23H2 with all updates on a Lenovo laptop and 32 GB RAM. A tip from a post originally posted in 2018 and replied to in 2020 has solved the problem more easily than restarting Lightroom which only solved it briefly. Here's the tip that worked for me:In LR Classic go to Window/Screen Mode and choose Full Screen with Menubar.Then immediately go to Window/Screen Mode again, and this time choose Normal.

My workflow for several years has included migrating images to external devices (USB connected hard drives) when I need space on my hard drive.  I do this by creating a folder on the external hard drive, selecting the images to migrate and then dragging them to the new folder in Lightroom.  This has worked very well for several years.Yesterday I was surprised to see that the previews for the images with the '!' symbol (the ones that had been migrated off of the hard drive) were missing.  The metadata was still there and appeared accurate, but instead of a picture, I saw only a gray box.In most cases, I am able to get the preview back by attaching the external device and clicking on the '!' symbol to find the image.  But I have around 20 thousand images in my catalog, and there are hundreds of  missing previews.  I can use ratings, labels and sometimes text to filter the images somewhat, but getting back the image previews I want for a particular project is

Why is it that I seem to frequently lose my info overlays in both grid and loupe views in Lightroom Classic? I can only get them back by restarting LR.

Earlier today, LRc updated (13.3) and Mac updated (Sonoma 14.5). Now, it's taking 12-16 seconds per action I'm trying to make on ONE image. I.E., I'm cropping down an image - 7-8 seconds to do so. I uninstalled and re-installed LRc also. I've also restarted my laptop twice in hopes it would help to no avail.  Is anyone else having the same issue and, if so, how do I correct this?

After processing and exporting images to a sub-folder in Lightroom Classic I renamed the files in Explorer.Lightroom still shows the original file names and Library/Rename Photo does not work.I assume if I use Synchronise Folder, Lightroom will  treat the files as missing photos and remove the files from Lightroom.Is there a way to update the filenames?

why does lightroom classic not read or open sony rx1R mark 3 raw files while PS does?

I have just purchased my first Macbook Pro coming from PC. Copied everything from PC to external drives. (Images always been on another external drive). Tried to open the catalogue to which it asks for an update, do that and then.........nothing! It asks me to import images as there is none, but there is also no catologue - no edits, nothing at all.......HELP!

I am using LRC 14.5 on windows 11.  when I drag a single and or multiple pictures to the Map module  to add GPS.  example 8  extra Flags appear. Even if I try 1  Multiple show up. when not selected.  thoughts?

The old version of Denoise created a new DNG. The new version is modifying and overwriting the original DNG ..... AND adding all the subsequent processing to it. I keep my RAW files seperate from LR specifically to preserve their integrity. Is this a glitch or by design. ? If it is I will NOT use Denoise in future as I do not want my RAW files altered.  anyone have any info, regards, Steve 

I just installed Lightroom Classic (version 14.5) on my Mac (running Sequoia 15.6).  I find the contents in the Develop menu to be almost impossible to read, as much of the font is black on a dark gray background.  Is there a way to adjust the appearance of the menus?

LR Classic 14.4To get to the "healing brush", which I use a LOT, it takes a lot of clicks to use: Click Remove Tool IconClick Remove drop downClick Heal Mode icon (unless it was sticky from last time, which seems not always the case)Then when finished, to get back to overall develop screen tab, have to click Edit icon.  Previously closing the healing brush reopened the develop screen tab.  Keyboard Shortcut "Q" merely gets you to step 2 above. Is there a way to change this and bring the healing brush to the surface?  It seems as features have been added it has gotten buried.

Hi everyone .. I am looking for the easiest route to load images onto my website, and webshop - can i set it up so that a folder / catalogue goes live to my site once it is exported? looking for the fastest route to have hi and lo res images available to the clients - as i have min time between events and currently doing via whatsapp on laptop - means waiting for the export (3 different sizes, 2 of which need to be branded with different logos) .. what i would like, card in, images selected, edited, exported to a folder that will sync to website as fast as the internet allows - in 3 seperate options ( 1 hi res - print, 2 low res - web use, 3 low res with logo - for socials).. prepared to pay for the disc space, and also use this as a "cloud backup"  have a IT guy who is wdecent with the shop setup - but no the "from lightroom" side of things .... please help / discuss alternative ideas / advise ?? I have the photo and the premier pro packages... not s

Hi.  My lightroom classic catalog is corrupt as are recent backups of it.  I have tried letting lightroom fix it and creating a new catalog and importing the corrupt one.  Neither strategy worked. Is there some way to fix the catalog without having to repeat all of my work?

Hello, As the title implies, whenever I bring up the masking tool in Lightroom Classic 14.5 I see the "Detect People" start to spin and inevitably it stops and crashes out, rendering the masking function impossible to use. It seemed to work fine a day or two ago when I last worked in this catalog, and nothing abnormal happened. I'm 99% sure it has nothing to do with the catalog itself, I keep 2 different catalogs, one work related and one with personal/family stuff, and both catalogs do the same thing. If an image has previously had masks applied it seems to keep plugging along. Beim Bearbeiten von Fotos hatte Lrclassic plötzlich "ein Problem beim Lesen des Katalogs" und es überprüfte und reparierte den Katalog. Nun sind alle Einträge im Protokoll weg auch von Fotos, die ich danach bearbeitet habe. Kann mir jemand helfen? I have a Surface Pro 11 with an ARM processor and it seems like Lightroom Classic doesn't recognize the ARM64 version of Photoshop and has the "Edit in > Open with Photoshop" function greyed out. I have already tried to reinstall LrC and Ps multiple times to no success. Lightroom Classic 14.4Photoshop 26.9Surface Pro 11 13" OLED running Windows 11 ARM64 10.0.26100 Build 26100 Issue: In LrC "Edit in > Open with Photoshop" is greyed out.What i expected: "Open with Photoshop" to not be greyed out. What i have sone so far: Reinstalled Ps and LrC multiple times in different orders. My guess: the x64 LrC version lacks the code to recognize the ARM64 version of Photoshop.

Over the past couple weeks, my star ratings aren't importing when I pull my images over from PhotoMechanic. This has never been an issue before. The ratings are showing up in PM, but when imported in LR, there is no rating. Really hoping to find a solution soon as this is how I sort my sneak peeks quickly from wedding days and sessions, and I can't go through re-rating over a 1000 images every wedding.

I feel like I'm taking cRaZy PiLlz Does anyone else have this problem? (Video attached)This has happened for me for years despite how many updates there have been to Lightroom Classic. Whenever I'm exporting a selection from a batch like this, every time, without fail, I will select somebody's shots, I will click print and then the print module will take me to a single image, which was the first image from the previous print selection.I'll go back and select again and then it will work.This will happen for every selection I make, for every batch of photos I take.What's the deal?
