Lightroom Classic

Using LR classic Version 14.5.1 with Camera Raw 17.5 on a Windows System.I recently acquired several images using autoexposure bracketing with the intention of creating HDR images later in Lightroom. I realized too late, that during the bracketing series my camera automatically adjusted the ISO value for each raw file. So now the raw files have different ISO and therefore different noise patterns.I can use the HDR function on the RAWs but the result looks quite terrible with re. to noise and the HDR image cannot be denoised using the AI denoising tool.So I then used the AI denoising filter and subsequently applied the HDR function in LR classic. This caused quite dramatic artefacts, it looks to me as if the denoising filter is discarded when HDR grabs the raw images: It would be great if the HDR function would be made compatible with the denoising function.

Bursts and bracket shooting is becoming increasingly popular, and faster burst rates mean way more images.  Where the images are required for focus stacking or HDR, it's sometimes difficult to determine the beginning and end of the burst.  It's particularly difficult if trying multiple stacks of different camera settings with the camera on a tripod for a macro of the same item.  It can be done with blank images at the start and finish but this requires moving out of burst or bracket mode then back in again.I understand that high-end cameras are capable of millisecond time stamps.  Whether this is read to the card or not is another matter.  However, assuming the information is available, it should be possible for LrC, to determine which images were shot within say 1/12th of a second (5 fps) or closer, then to mark them with a suitable metadata tag viewable in grid view, with each succeeding bust having its own unique tag.  The interval should be u

I noticed that Capture One has a new feature namely Match Look. Maybe it's an idea that Lightroom would also have such a capability in the future.

Instead of naming all masks "mask", regardless of the type, it would be very helpful if they're named by mask type. E.g. "brush 1", "brush 2", "linear mask 1", "radial mask 1" and so on. This way it's way easier to pick the right masks when copying the settings from one photo. Most of the time I don't want to copy the brushes, but only the linear and radial masks.

Like the ability to lock interface in Lightroom Classic and Photoshop.    In LR, mistakenly clicking the triangles on the panel collapses the sections. I'd like an option to lock the interface so that this won't happen. Resetting the panel slows me down.   In PS, mis-clicking and/or dragging an item on the toolbar will move the tool buttons. I then need to place them back or reset the workspace. This waste time. I'd like an option to lock the toolbars on the workspace. That way I could manually unlock the interface to rearrange tools only when desired.   Hope others give this a vote.

I would like to make the suggestion for Adobe to add a masking selection for windows. When you have an interior photograph and the exterior showing through the window is a different exposure, it would be super helpful to quickly mask the area of the window to adjust the exposure. I shoot bracketed shots, but even so this would still be a helpful tool. 

As an event photographer (primarily musical theater and dance recitals), I edit large batches of photos (10,000 or more per event). Many of my images have a primary subject with other people in the background who are likely out of focus. Face recognition can be a great resource to help ensure that I have good pictures of each of the participants and to keep those images organized. However, Lightroom's face recognition feature tags faces even if those faces are in the background and out of focus. This severely limits the efficiency of this feature, redering it pretty much unusable for me. I would like to be able to have Lightroom tag ONLY the faces in an image that are in focus.

In both Lightroom and ACR, the Denoise amount cannot be adjusted before applying it. This is a regression from the previous preview UI where the amount could be changed before applying Denoise.   This means that Denoise must be applied before changes are possible, and the result must be recalculated if a change IS made. This is very, very poor behavior and a huge waste of time for anyone using (for example) different cameras or ISO settings which may need different Denoise amounts. This is made worse because it appears that Denoise amount always starts at 50 and doesn't use the previous setting (unless that can be changed.)   It also appears that this only happens if multiple files are selected, and the most selected file is NOT updated? If I select three files with Auto-Sync, apply Denoise, change the slider, the update dialog only shows two files being updated. 

Currently, in Lightroom Classic, there is no way to display a permanent grid overlay while working in the Develop module, except when cropping. This makes it difficult to precisely align or center radial filters, gradients, or other local adjustments. I would like to request two improvements: Permanent Grid Overlay – the ability to toggle on a compositional grid (rule of thirds, golden ratio, simple square grid, etc.) that stays visible in Develop mode, not only in Crop. X–Y Coordinates for Masks – when positioning or resizing a radial filter (or other masks), it would be very helpful to see the exact X-Y coordinates (or pixel percentage values relative to the image). This would allow more precise placement, such as centering a radial filter perfectly. These features would make Lightroom Classic much more efficient for users who need accurate local adjustments and precise composition control.

Hey,   I have really annoying trouble with the speed of loading Lightroom's previews.My System:Macbook Pro M1 Max 32GB RAMMy Camera:Nikon Z7III'm a professional photographer who switched from CaptureOne but Lightroom is starting to annoy me really bad here.I know the filesize of the Nikon's RAWs is hefty but my computer should be capable of dealing with them.My process for each job: Make a new Catalog. Copy the files (mostly around 600-800 photos) to a folder. Import to Lightroom. Create a basic look, copypaste on all images, start making the selection.Whenever I'm in library mode, all the photos that are "in frame" get a preview loaded. Whatever is not in frame keeps the embedded preview until I select the photo or scroll to it in library mode. This is really really annoying for culling photos as there's a LOT of stuttering and loading while going through the photos. I even started using photo mechanics for culling photos when I'm in a hurry because Lightroom lets me down on spee

I've done some searching and I'm finding it hard to beleive that the clunkiness of organizing and editing RAW + JPG images has never really been improved over the years. Most users are just finding "workarounds" for LR shortcomings. When treating RAW + JPG as separate photos (which I am doing) why can't I have the pairs properly stacked? Auto stack by capture time (set to zero seconds) does not work because of burst shooting. Why can't there be an "Auto-Stack by File Name" or "Auto-Stack RAW + JPG"?   My preferred workflow sometimes for would be to sort/edit through a gallery of JPG's and have the RAW handy in the stack in case I need to pull more dynamic range or white balance on a specific shot. So far this isn't possible without manually creating your stacks, or fixing the stacked burst sequences. Seems like a simple thing that can be implemented. Even a simple check box in the already existing "Auto-Stack" dialoge for stacking JPG pairs would be so simple.

When creating a mask for an identified person it is of course great being able to create separate or combined masks for the individual facial elements - lips, eyebrow, sclera etc . While there is an option to select the entire person, there is no option to select all of the identified facial elements with one click. I often find myself having to click 3 or 4 elements on each of a sequence of shots to select the whole face (eg a sportsperson wearing a helmet) although the elements available will vary with each shot and so syncing the mask is fraught with risks. The additional feature would simply be to have an "Entire face" box below the "Entire person" box. Thanks        

The remove selection is one setting that pretty much always changes between photo to photo, plus sometimes it'll create weird looking parts of the image that can sometimes be missed if you're not careful! So I'd much prefer the 'Remove' section to be automatically disabled when using Previous or Sync, and then it can be enabled if really needed to. I know that you can select certain sections when copy and pasting settings, but this is a bit more effort than just clicking on the next image and then clicking previous.

The new Video part is great! I really like the previews.It is a great addition to sort and tag your video's. Only one problem:The tagging system doesn't work properly, it doesn't store the tags in the video-files like it is possible with the photo's. I hope this will be working in the Final.

I've started editing by batching my actions like going through the gallery and cropping everything first, then I go through and remove distractions. I was thinking, it would be great to have a setting we could be in where we could go through the whole gallery and highlight things to be removed in red and then at the end of the gallery batch run the AI removal for all of it. This way I'm not waiting 15 seconds per page, I can go highlight all of the things I want removed and then walk away from my laptop for 15-30 mins while all the AI generation happens at one time. this would give me so much time back! 

Feature Request: please, include Ukrainian as a language in future releases of Lightroom Classic

Lightroom for Linux - is it possible? Most my friends and I need it, because of not using Windows and current Linux tools can't get so great instruments for raw preprocessing and organizing...

Lightroom curves are really difficult to finetune.It could be great to be able to create/select a point on the curve and move it with the arrow keys by tiny steps (Photoshop does this very well).

Currently it's up to the user to check how many catalog backups have been created, and delete the oldest ones. For people with large catalogs, the amount of disk space consumed can be significant. It would be great if I could tell LR to create a maximum of 3 backups, and automatically replace the oldest one with the newest one.

When using Include Subfolders, Lightroom scans folders in multiple passes. The file count (e.g. “5521 photos / 4 GB”) jumps up and down as new subfolders are discovered, suspected duplicates are filtered out, etc. The Import button, however, is active from the very beginning. This creates two major problems:1. Users can press Import before scanning is finished and end up importing only a partial set of photos — with no warning.2. The detailed progress status (remaining files, duplicates ignored, previously imported, total size) is hidden unless you click or hover over the counter. Most users never discover this. Suggested improvements: Always display the full scanning/progress status (remaining, duplicates ignored, previously imported, size selected/ignored). If Include Subfolders is enabled, keep the Import button disabled until scanning is complete. At minimum, show a warning dialog: “Scanning is not finished yet. Are you sure you want to import only partial results?” Al

In Lightroom’s Library Grid View, it’s hard to see which photo is selected. The current selection border is too thin and faint.Please make the active photo more visible (e.g., thicker border, stronger highlight, or a user setting). This would make culling and organizing much easier.

I upgrded from LR 6.14 the the latest Adobe Photography plan (on Windows 11) and only require LR Classic and and PS.  After running the new LR and then closing the application there were still a dozen processes running,.  I contacted support and they said that apps were Creative Cloud apps.  I explained that I wasn't interested in Creative Cloud so they walked me through removing Creative Cloud.   A couple days later PS wouldn't start - said I didn't have Creative Cloud installed.  I called support and the support person I got said I had to have Creative Cloud installed or PS wouldn't run.  Nice.  Anyway, I installed Creative Cloud and PS worked.  But then I was balk to the plethora of Adobe applications still loaded.   I understand that that Adobe wants to check for updates or check the validity of the application, but can this not be done when the application starts and then whatever performs the update/validation check then terminate?&nbs

Looking through the fora here and on lightroom queen there have been a substatial number of posts looking to achieve smart collectoions that include a filter for "edited int he last n weeks/days".  At present, this does not generate meaningful results because the current "edit date" criterion is modified by any minor change to metadata (such as opening the file or some LR updates etc) AS WELL AS genuine image edits. I would find it enormously useful if there was a develop edit date that indicated the last date when an image was altered (covering raw files and also psd, tif or dng saved back to LR).   The smart collections are an imprtant tool and deserve a little more attention as a sorting and filtering mechanism - this is an important example  

OMDS (formerly Olympus) provides image editing software, OM WorkSpace (WS), specifically for their proprietary ORF raw image format.  While LrC is superior in so many ways, I believe that with respect to detail, sharpening and noise of their high resolution ORF images specifically, WS has an edge.  I would like to see a plugin for LrC to allow initial processing in WS then further processing and cataloguing in LrC.This may be an issue for OMDS or a 3rd party plugin provider.  Apologies if it's not an Adobe issue.

AI-Driven Preset ProfilesSomething like Imagine AI, but integrated into Lightroom—an AI profile that learns from your edits and applies them consistently. This could massively speed up workflows and personalize results. Lightroom is already an essential tool, but these additions could make it revolutionary for photographers who handle thousands of images under time pressure. Would love to hear if others would find this helpful too!
