I had to upgrade to Lightroom Classic 14.2. Now I cannot import any of my valuable User Presets that took me hours to develop. When I import an *.lrcat backup file, they won't show up. When I try to import the *.xmp files directly from Lightroom Settings/Settings, I get a notification "Unable to import presets / All items were already imported." But I cannot see them anywhere and cannot use them. what has gone wrong? Thanks"
When opening images in Photoshop from Lightroom, the images noticeably change, especially in the dark areas where the blacks become washed out and lose detail. This issue also occurs when switching between the Develop and Library modules in Lightroom. Disabling GPU acceleration in Lightroom's performance settings results in poor quality across the board. Enabling the HDR in Library option helps maintain consistency in Lightroom, but the black details still wash out after exporting to Photoshop. The only time my images look correct is in the Develop module with GPU enabled or in the Library with HDR turned on. However, this does not carry over to Photoshop or during exports, even with GPU enabled for exports. My monitor is calibrated using the latest Spyder tools, and I’ve ensured that the color profiles match in both Lightroom and Photoshop. I've tried various color spaces (Adobe98, sRGB, ProPhoto) and even generic monitor calibrations to rule out corrupted ICC prof
I have had to update my Mac OS software due to upgrading camera. I use Lightroom 6 and now in develop screen I get a white box across the screen which cuts of top of picture with the photo info in it. How can I reduce its size or remove it? Any help would be fantastic
My Camera Raw was updated today and now I am noticing the colors and temprature of my images are different between the Library view and Developer Module. The library and Navigator preview in the developer module are significantly warmer than the developer view. When opening the same image in Photoshop or even exporting the image it appears the library view is accurate not the develop module. I have checked all settings for changes but none were made other than the last update. I am not able to accurately edit images at this time. Ideas?
Hi I have just installed LR6 on a new computer, had to jump through hoops with the codes but got there in the end, but now when i import images it tells me that it cannot open them. This has happened before and was sorted by remote access but that choice appears to have been discontinued. Is there a quick fix for thiis?Cheers, Peter.

Hi all, Just build a pc with new Nvidia GTX4060 Ti card, mainly for photo/video editing.Unfoirtunatley, using Adobe Lightroom with GPU acceleration shifts colors in develope module. When I disable GPU, colors look normal. I do want to have accaleration ON as the lightroom is quite faster. Anyone had similar issue? Graphics drivers are up to date. I was playing with some monitor color profiles but that has not changed anything. I heard Nvidia cards are better supported with Adobe products but now I am not entierly convinced... Please help. Thanks!
I am getting an error "Lightroom encountered problems when trying to update the format of the catalog file and cannot use the catalog in this version of lightroom." I am upgrading from LrC 6.14 to the latest version, due to compatibility issues with reading the RAW files from my new Nikon Mirrorless camera. I have looked here for a clear answer and not really finding one. Have a Win 10 computer, and all photos are stored on external drive. I do see an .lcat file on the laptop but also one is located on the external. I tried updating from the external and the error said it couldn't be done with an external drive. I tried the repair method without any success either. If I need to create a new file, how do I do it, without losing connection to all my photos (over 30k on my external) and the editing info on the ones I have developed? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
I am running Lightroom Classic 14.2 on a PC with a Ryzen 9950X processor, Radeon 6800XT GPU, PCIe Gen5 NVMe, and 64GB RAM. I have noticed that during 1:1 preview generation, the percentage of CPU being used is primarily below 50% after several minutes of runtime (in the case I'm running now, this started after 5 minutes or so, and the generation is about 10 minutes in at this point. I am generating 1:1 previews for a batch of 4750 Canon R5 and R5II RAW files as a performance test. I previously deleted the Lightroom preview cache and optimized the catalog. The CPU temperature seems within limits (around 80-85C, but sometimes even lower), and core clock is showing up as running at 100% maximum frequency in the Windows Resource Monitor. There is plenty of free disk space (over 2.2 TB free). Is this slowdown in core utilization expected? I just moved from an older PC with a Ryzen 5600X that also exhibited a similar issue. I was hoping to see more of an improvement with the new PC
I have photos on Lightroom classic but I don’t have the original external hard drive. Do you have a suggestion on how I can share the photos outside of the smart previews?

lightroom classic 15.3.1. – yes i know, it is not the latest version, but i tried 14.1. and it was a complete mess. so i had to reinstall the older version. Worked fine until yesterday, unfortunately during a sports event, when it decided to slow down immediately. I had set up an automatic import– didn't work, export extreme slowly, restarted it several times, restarted the computer… this program gets on my nerves and costs me time and money. Did run a diagnostic... yesterday night all over a sudden it worked, but this morning no import … again… any ideas? [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]

I don't know the cause but I cannot open the new version of Lightoom with my existing (large-1m) catalog. The update occured as I was in the process of doing a clean update to Windows 11 from Windows 10 on my desktop. I have a full back up of the catalog that worked fine with the previous version. Version 14.0insists on updating it, but after the update it will not work with the catalog. Just get 'An error prevented lightroom classic from opening this catalog'. No error message when performing the conversion, just on re-launching. I've tried the suggested Adobe solution of deleting the CURRENT file and forcing Lightroom to re-start. Makes no difference. Have also tried uninstalling and re-installing v14.0, again, same issue. This is critical to me as I was half way through processing a major event. Plus in the last year I've moved from largely using Capture 1 to Lightroom Classic. A move that now seems an error. I'm a professional photographer and rely on the Adobe's softwar
I am working with the Book module on Lighroom Classic. In the Lightroom preview, the text "KYOTO" is alligned with the apex of the pole. But when I export the book either to PDF or JPEG, the text is cleared not at the same position relative to the image. In the following screenshots, I adjusted the width of the text to align with the roof width of the building. But when I export the Book again, we can see that in addition of the text being shifted relative to the picture, the width of the text is now smaller that the roof width. So it seems that either the picture is zoomed in during the export or the text is zoomed out.In the layout option, I tried both "Fill" and "Fit" for the option "Zoom Photo to:", but nothing changed. Thank you for your time.
Hello everyone, I've noticed something puzzling in Lightroom Classic. When I apply a Blacks adjustment of +70 using the Basic panel, the resulting image differs from applying the same +70 adjustment via a mask—even when the mask covers 100% of the image. From my understanding, Lightroom processes RAW files (often 14-bit) by first converting them into an internal format (likely 16-bit floating-point) and then applying global adjustments before executing any local corrections via masks. This leads me to wonder: Why do these two methods yield different results for the same Blacks adjustment? Is it because the Basic panel adjustments are applied earlier in the processing chain, while masks work on already processed data? Are there any official Adobe documents or technical resources that explain the internal bit-depth handling and processing order which might shed light on this behavior? I would appreciate insights from Adobe experts or fellow users who have encountered this discrepa
Is there a plug in for LRC that shows the focus point in an image? I had one for an older version of LRC but can't seem to find one for the later versions
Lightroom Classic cuando se ejecuta queda en segundo plano y no abre el programa.Ya se formatea win11, tambien se actualiza la bios a la version mas actual y se desinstala el programa completamente en varias ocasiones.
Good afternoon. I have the same issue and I have discussed with other Lightroom Classic users who have all noticed the same issue. This is a 'recent' issue and switching between images takes several seconds. Masking has also become unusably slow. I have a fairly fast PC (specs below) and editing has always been a breeze until recently. I re-checked all my Lightroom settings and everything is okay. I cannot work at this slow pace. Does anyone have any sugestions. One of the users in my group has sugested reverting to the previous version of Lightroom but I'm concerned I may negatively impact my edits etc?
If an existing collection in Publish Services includes a video, and then I modify the video (say, with Quick Develop), Lightroom correctly moves the video to the "Modified Photos to Republish" section. When I click Publish, Lightroom goes through the motions of updating the published collection and moves the video back to the "Published Photos" section. However, this happens so quickly that it isn't possible that the modified video actually got uploaded. Indeed, if I look at the published video at the external site, the modifications haven't been applied. I can remove the video from the collection, click Publish, then re-add the video (from All Photographs), then click Publish again. Then the video is published with the modifications, and everything is fine. Apparently, Lightroom is losing track of the need to regenerate and upload the changed video in this situation. Perhaps it is behaving as if there were only a metadata change. I am using the SmugMug publ
Καλησπερα είχα παλιότερα λογαριασμοί στο lightroom τον οποίο τον είχα διακόψει, μετά από κάποιο χρονικό διάστημα που τον επανέφερα δεν μπορώ να βρω τις παλιότερες φωτογραφίες μου, μήπως ξέρει κάποιος να με βοηθήσει αν μπορώ να τις βρω;
I will be exporting many images from DNG to jpg files. All images have a keyword, title and description. After they are exported, the keywords, title and description are gone.In the export image it is selected; all metadata, and ticked the three choices.I use windows 10, LrC 12.3
