Without thinking my decision through, I clicked on "Start Finding Faces in Entire Catalog". I have over 50k images in the catalog with hundreds or thousands of images with large crowds. I do not all of them indexed. I've been trying to reverse that decision by going back to an older backup of the Catalog which did not resolve the issue, and by resetting the preferences. I reached out to Adobe support chat and they told me that resetting the preferences would indeed reverse the decision but that turned out to be false. My question is: does anyone know where this choice/action to scan the entire catalog is stored? And how can I get back to the previous state? I can of course delete the entire application and all the related files, and restore a backup of the catalog from before making the fateful choice. That should clean the slate, right? To be clear: I don't want to pause the indexing by clicking on the top left-hand corner of the application nor do I want to g
I would like the operation of the tools that go with sliders to flow in all numbers equally. When I am moving forward, for example in Contrast, it jumps from number 57 to 61 and it is very difficult to adjust if I want to stop at number 60.It is very tiring when you are developing photos in Lightroom because all the tools do the same thing. It is as if they have favorite numbers, which almost never match mine.Thank you. Best regards.
I am using LR Classic 13.2 on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit machine. For MONTHS now LRC has shut down at random times. A search of threads revealed no solution hence this report. I had hoped the latest update to 13.2 would solve it but it has not. There is not pattern I can discern. Sometimes it happens when browsing photos in grid view. Sometimes it happens after making an adjustment in Develop. Sometimes it happens while in the process of making an adjustment in Develop. Sometimes it happens shortly after starting up. There is no pop-up or dialog box of any kind. The PC simply returns to desktop display. Normally I am asked if I want to back-up as I have set in preferences. But with these crashes, there is nothing, no warning, no dialog stating a problem has occurred, or anything else. It just goes away. I have tried all the usual steps given in advice, i.e. deleting preferences or uninstalling and reinstalli
The photos imported into my iPhone photo library show 13MP 4496x3000 3MP. now when I open LR mobile and the same pic without even tweaking/using LR features shows file info as 6.5MP 3114x2078 730KB.... Is there an actual drop in resolution? Ray
To be able to adjust exposure by dragging the histogram and having that sync across to all images that you have selected. You can currently do this this but the + / - of the exposure (or shadows, highlights etc) is what syncs, not the histogram. So, if you have multiple images selected, and adjust the histgram on one image, and that therefore translates to a +1.50 of exposure, then all the selected images are also adjusted by +1.50 of exposure. This can be the same for shadows, highlights etc but each image would therefore have differing histograms. It would be handy to be able to sync the images by histogram, so each image selected could therefore be differing figures on the sliders (eg +1.50 for one, +0.75 for another etc - but the histogram reads the same) Great for getting a batch of images synced if you happen to be over / under exposed when shooting. I shoot a lot of sport and this would be much quicker to batch process images for a match. Hope that makes sense.
Good morning, for about 10 days I have not been able to import photos. When the import process starts, everything stops. I contacted support, but I still have not been able to solve the problem. Thanks
I have a camera converted to super color IR by Life Pixel. The method Life Pixel recommends to create a white balance profile is to export a raw file created with the IR camera as DNG. Next, run the DNG Profile Editor, open the file, click the Color Matrices tab, move the temperature slider all the way to the left, then export the profile for use in LR and ACR. This is necessary because the DNG Profile Editor lets you select a much lower color temperature than the Temperature sliders in LR/ACR.The DNG Profile Editor has been abandoned by Adobe. It runs on Windows but does not scale on high resolution monitors. I read on line that it does not run at all on Mac High Sierra or later. The new Adobe Profile SDK, which is Adobe's replacement for the DNG Profile Editor, let's us create profiles in ACR. Unfortunately that does not work for those of us with IR cameras because the Temperature slider in ACR does not have the range of the Temperature slider in DNG Profile Editor as stated above.Yes
I have an external hard drive with two folders of photos that have already been imported into Lightroom. I created a new folder in Lightroom named "All Imported Photos". I'm not trying to move the two existing folders into the newly created "All Imported Photos" in Lightroom. However, every time I try to drag either folder into the new folder, it doesn't work and I get an error message stating "Could not complete the folder move. An uninown error occurred." It's driving me crazy! Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!
LrC for Mac 14.2 Mac OS 15.3.2 When I open LrC everything seems to work fine until I click on the Import button, at which point the system freezes and the only option is to force quit the app. I've checked my sync status (it's caught up), closed the app (and checked for catalog integrity while shutting down) and re-opened it, and restarted the Mac and tried everything again. Nothing helps. My photos are stored on a Synology NAS and the catalog is on the MacBook Pro (M2) internal SSD. I disconnected the NAS from my Mac, restarted the Mac, reconnected the NAS, and then opened LrC. Same result. Everything in LrC works fine until I click Import, at which point the app freezes. Can anyone help? Thanks. [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]
HelloI am a user of a lightroom cc for some time. Recently, I installed the lightroom classic and updated my package. When I first syn my classic to lightroom cc, i have all my photos in collection and under the title "all photographs". I want to see my folders in the left hand panel. How can i do this. I managed to create a folder from "go to folder in library" but it will duplicate the photos in the all photos. Can you helpRegardsMedhat Michail
I edited a tif file of a person, created three mask and export it as a jpeg. Reopened in lightroom cc then opened one of the masks and adjust the hue using fine adjustment in the color section for the mask. Closed the mask. Then exported with previous. I get the error "There was an unknown error. (1)". If I resave without doing any adjustment, it works. If I update the color temperature adjustment in the mask, it works. I am looking to organize my Lightroom 5 ahead of a migration to current version on new laptop. All my work over the last 5 years is under one FOLDER on LR. I'd like to place those files(projects) into CATALOGS organized by year. Any suggestions on best course of action? Thanks
I would love the ability to have the ability to adjust the image size relative to a specific window. For example, if I am editing images at 25% size and some images have different megapixels they would still fill the predetermined window size instead of getting larger or smaller as I progress. I prefer to have a lot of grey around my images in the develop modue, so it's distracting having the images change sizes so frequenty if say I'm working on a catalog of images from different cameras with different megapixels. If anyone uses Photomechanic, you know what I'm talking about.
Hello everyone!I get this message when I start Lightroom Classic: " An error prevented Lightroom Classic from opening this catalog "I tried this method but still I get this error: https://helpx.adobe.com/ro/lightroom-classic/help/failure-in-opening-catalog.htmlAnyone knows how to fix this?Thank you!
Running LRC 14.2, Windows 11 with all updates in place and Nvidia video card drivers up-to-date.My issue is I open LRC and scroll through the folder to the one I want to edit. Usually works fine but now when I scroll through to the latest imported images, LRC stops responding, forcing me to restart LRC. Task Manager shows this. It happens when I scroll though to any folder, not just the most recent imports. Any thoughts on the possible cause?
My patience with Apple has run out. After many years I am moving back to PC. This is because there are simply too many unexplained performance issues. My question is, how to I best prepare to move my entire system.I currently use an iMac where the LR Catalogue is on the internal disk & all the master image files are stored in an external RAID system (thunderbolt). It may be in the future that I trust Adobe to store & manage my master files, but not yet.I sync my entire library to the cloud, which I use on mobile devices for reference. (I have played with editing, but it is still far too restrictive.)I will install a Windows 10 PC next week & my intention is to simply copy the LR catalogue to the internal hard disk on the PC & plug in the external RAID to the thunderbolt port on the PC motherboard.I have no idea if the RAID system will automatically work with the PC, or whether it will have to be reset & reformatted. I will work this one out.I am assuming that the pat
Can I plug my camera card into my reader and then connect to the computer? Or, plug card directly into the slot on the computer?
In "Library" mode I see an image I'd like to edit. When I double click on it and then "Develope" I get a message "File Cannot Be Found" What am I doing wrong?
Hello All... (Thank You in advance!)16+ years ago I had an external hard drive fail on me. As a result I lost close to to 19,000 photographs, videos, etc...A family member recently passed and I thought I'd try to recover the drive that I was unsuccessful with back when it failed, for use in a memorial slideshow. I found some software that I highly recommended. (ReCuva Pro). Subsequently the software although only some, recovered some of my photographs (3,000+). However it did recover 213 Zipped Lightroom 4 Preview catolog files. I dug out my original Lightroom 4 disc and installed it successfully on my current system... Is there ANY possible way of recovering these files in my current installation of Lightroom 4..??? i would Truly Appreciate Any an All help... Thank You in Advance...
Why does LrC run SOO much slower than LR desktop on my MAC?
Hey, everyone! I already looked for a solution for this issue, went on reddit, but I can't seem to figure out what's wrong. I have Lightroom Classic on my PC desktop (ver. 14.2 on Windows), and recently I got a laptop where I installed Lightroom CC (ver. 8.2 on Macbook Air). I synced a collection in one of the catalogs of Classic, the idea was to be able to edit some things on the laptop while away from home. I usually use smart previews to edit, and then connect the HDD where the raws are to export. The collection synced perfectly to both Lightroom CC and the cloud (all the photos are there). If I make a change in Classic, the change happens both in CC and in the cloud, but if I try to edit something in CC, it just won't sync back in Classic. Basically, it appears syncing only works one way (from Classic to both CC and the cloud, and not the other way around). Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to enable something? Thank you very much!
I tethered my camera and I can photoshoot with LrC but I cannot activate Live View. I push Live button but live view doesn't open any screen. There is a Note on LrC support page: "Live view for Canon 5D M2 works only with the Still Only mode" But I don't find Still Only mode on my camera.
How to open 2 photos as layers from the lightroom to photoshop !! Stop working..?? It is so frustrating to have issues again and again, when you have something you need to finish and know it will only take 5 min !! If it was working .!! I can't open my computer without there is an update to Adobe !!! Why not test it Before you let it out in the open !! There are some who don't have time to sit and fight the issues. !!
After upgrading both Topaz AI and Lightrooom to their most recent versions I receive an error message in Lightroom Classic stating that the file is not compatible/corrupt. The TIFF file is rendered but instead of a photo, there is a blank gray box where the photo should be. Has anyone experienced this and if so, could you recommend a fix.
