Lightroom Classic

I got a new SSD to replace an older HDD and moved a few thousands pictures from the HDD to the SSD. Performed the move from within LrC.  That was very slow but it seems to have worked properly. Went back to the LrC and it was no longer seeing/listing images in various places. I even tried to reimport pictures but LrC would not import because LrC could see that it already had them. But LrC would not show them. For example, a folder with 450 pictures (on file explorer), LrC would show only 12 pictures. Read forums, deleted the preview file and restarted LrC. No change. Re-read forum for another solution and created a new catalog file (!). And then imported from the old catalog file. LrC now showing all images in some folders that did not show previously. But there are still folders that don't show at all!! "Synchronize Folder" does not work. At least it does not see folders/images to be imported. I just transferred to a new computer. Before the transfer I had found all missing photos and everything looked good. Since transferring to new computer many photos in Library are gray (not missing). Most of my photos are on an external drive. The photos that are on my hard drive transferred. I think this has to do with previews not being transferred, but not sure how to fix the problem.Any help would be much appreciated.

Fast forward to 2025. I want to REMOVE folders that do not belong in LR AT ALL. But once I allowed access to folders permission, LR put every single folder on my computer into LR. Um, no thanks there is no way to edit my taxes so they look good on the wall....... I tried the above method but given that things have changed since 2017, I am stuck with these options instead: Include subfolder (No thank you), Dock folder (No thank you) and Show in Finder, already got that..How to I simply remove the folders from LR while keeping them on the computer.    [Message moved to its own new thread by moderator. I’m using Lightroom Classic (Version 14.1.1) and am experiencing issues. I can’t open dialogs like Export and Denoise, and exporting with a defined profile doesn’t work either. What steps can I take to resolve these problems and get everything working again?

Lightroom 14.1.1 on macOS 15.3, MacBook Pro M4 Max Using a Canon R5MkII with a Canon RF 24mm F1.4 VCM lens which comes with forced profile correction in the RAW based on how the lens is built.  Bug: Currently if you load a RAW image, it does not load the Adobe Camera RAW profile for the lens:Model - Canon RF 24mm F1.4 L VCMProfile - Adobe (Canon RF 24mm F1.4 L VCM) but instead defaults to the built-in correction:Model - RF24mm F1.4 L VCMProfile - Camera Settings This profile is unable to be modified and saved with any new default changes, i.e. changing the Vignetting, then going to Save Lens Profile As Default, will NOT save the changes as designed. Optimal situation: Allow the user to save any lens profile corrections for lenses with embedded profiles for future use, or allow the user to select the Adobe Camera RAW version of the lens correction profile as the default for the lens. Steps:1. I recently went from a $100 used LG monitor to a $1000+ Dell Ultrasharp U3223QE, pre-calibrated monitor. I was excited, until...  My photos now look way too saturated in the develop module.  I have spent hours reading other people's posts and understand that the color profile used in Library and Develop are different. But they are SO different that I don't know which is "correct" and I don't know which one I should edit to make look good. I wouldn't care so much, except that the issue doesn't go away when I export the jpgs.  They look like the less saturated version when I view them in Windows explorer, but revert to the more saturated version when I upload them to my website (and view them in Chrome). 

Hello everyone. I currently have Lightroom 6.14 stand alone. I reached out to customer service to help me update this version since I am currently running the MAC OS Monterey 12.1. CS told me "I am sorry but we are unable to provide you the latest version of the application.You can install the latest version of the Adobe applications and will be able to use them for a 7 day trial" I felt being scammed 100%. Is it just me that felt it this way? Totally unacceptable. So, how did you guys able to update your Lightroom 6 to the latest version without buying it? Please let me know. Thank you.

(First and foremost, this is not about downloading. I already have a previously-downloaded copy of Lightroom 6 installer.) Lightroom 6 installer successfully unpacks itself and begins setup. However at the very start it produces the following screen  The link (and the QR code) leads to a web page, which wants me to sugn in using my Adobe ID. It asks me to enter my registered email and then states that a verification code has been sent to that email address. However, the code never arrives. I made several attempts, nothing was sent to my email address. So, what exactly is going on here? I understand that Lightroom 6 is out-of-support, but I don't care about support. What's more important is why there is still an active sign-in server, which pretends to send verification codes, when in reality nothing is being sent? And, even more importantly, how do I work around this. I would like to have Lightroom 6 installed on my machine. Thank you.

Hi all, Hope someone can help me with a, for me at least, strange issue with Lightroom Classic. Its been there a few versions, currently running the latest version: 14.1.1 I'm having some issues with copy develop settings from one photo to another. I've had these issues for a longer time but only just found out that its not happening with every folder and I can't find the difference between a folder that works and a folder that doesn't.  The issue:I'm trying to copy paste settings from photo A to photo B, both in the same folder. This works between photos in Folder A, but does not work with photo's in folder B.  I've just imported photo's from my camera, taken on seperate dates. Imported the first batch to folder A, no presets applied, only selected copy to DNG. I started editing those, was able to copy paste between photo's and finished everything as expteded.  I then imported batch 2 to folder B, the SD card hasn't been removed from my PC in th

Hello, When I import my photos into Lr 4.1, they look normal & balanced, then turn very dark, one by one. I can visually see this on the filmstrip. I am not sure if this is a JPG preview I am seeing...They do not show up like this in my Pictures folder nor in CS Bridge.I shoot a Nikon D7000 in RAW always, shoot on Auto, Manual, Apeture, etc. I am running on a Windows Vista 32 bit, but import as TIFF files in 16 bit and work with 16 bit files. I usually set my camera to no saturation, or very little, no sharpening, etc., preferring to work with the RAW file only.Thank you in advance.

I had been having a two way sync problem from LRC on macOS synching to the Cloud, and then down to my iPad Pro and my iPhone 15.  The sync counter on LRC would halt on a certain number and not continue.  I had been working with support and had two major sessions on chat (2+hours), with two different support techs.  The sync would not continue after it hit 600 images.  After the two separate 2 hour sessions, the problem was solved.  Perhaps what I went through will provide a short cut for you.   Problem identified:  I had caused the problem by shutting down devices that had sync in progress.  In some cases it will warn you that the device is going through sync, but doesn't explicitly say that shutting down during sych can cause sync problems later. So the bottom line is to NEVER shut down a device that is syncing. Remember all syncing is done through the cloud -- not between individual devices.  Comments / Suggestions:Cool down befo

Lightroom v14.1.1 - book creation. Loading into Blurb (or pdf) is corrupted.  I started a photo book in Lightroom classic in November 2024. I resumed finalizing it at the end of January. When I re-opened my book, many photos were rotated 90° and the adjustments made in the Development module no longer appeared. I updated Lightroom v14.1.1 and made the fixes in the book. The display in Lightroom is now correct but whether in PDF or export in Blurb, the anomalies are still present. I suddenly started seeing foxes on my image files and thought my laptop may have a virus. Upon investigation, I discovered that these are JXL files meant for GIMP!!!   Lightroom automatically changed my export file format from JPEG to JXL!When I contacted Adobe Support, the agent told me that they have dealt with several such cases.   I use the latest versions of both Windows 11 and Lightroom.   [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]

I'm using PC with Win11 and Lightroom Classic 12.4.Most of my images are well looked after and just fine. I've got backups all over the place and all happy.There are a small number of family images in my catalogue which, over the years, have been bunged from one drive to another and not looked after quite as well. I've noticed that one or two of them are corrupt in various ways - either the RAW file shows an exclamation mark which, when clicked, says "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo. You will not be able to make adjustments to the photo." (These are mostly CR2 files). And a few others are corrupt in that you can see a bit of the file in Loupe view but a lot more of it is clearly damaged in the view.None of these images merits "recovery". I've run "find missing files" and there are none missing.I've not run "Validate DNG files" as they are not DNG files but are CR2 files.Is there any way to quickly identify "damaged" files so that I may simply delete them from

By now, I know I'm not the only one having issues with Lightroom Classic v.13. I have waited patiently to update the app, hoping that Adobe fixes it, but with the new 13.4, it's even worse. What used to take me 5 minutes is now taking me hours.   - Importing Images is incredibly slow - creating smart previews is impossible - syncing adjustments takes forever - forget to upload anything to the cloud; it will just never finish uploading.   I own a Mac studio with an M1 Ultra chip, and I had never had an issue with Lightroom before the update. In fact, I was having the best experience until this update.   Adobe, Fix this. Everyone else I know is moving over to capture one because of this, and If this isn't fixed soon, I will have to join them.   If this has anything to do with Adobe using AI, someone please tell me how to opt out of it.

I have used a merged catalog for several years. I have six external drives in my merged catalog. The drives are ordered chronologically. As a drive reaches its capacity, I add a new drive. I am having problems with the stability of LRC with the burden of this merged catalog. My question is can I unmerge these catalogs. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

This morning when I started Lightroom Classic it came up with the message that the catalog could not be found. I shut vthe program down and restarted it hoping that it might fix it and it came up with the message using default catalog. The default catalog shows that no photos have been inported into Lightroom and all my collections are also gone.I have around 5-6000 photos in multiple directories so I do not want to have to import them all over again, nor do I want to then have to recreate all the collections again.Is there anyway I can find the proper catalog? Is the a copy of the original catalog kept anyway. The only catalog I can find on my computer is the default catalog.Thanks.
