Lightroom Classic

Does anyone know if it's possible to filter the folders in the Folder Panel using any kind of logical operators or anything more advanced than every word being an OR search?For example, I have a bunch of folder names containing the term "Final X", such as 2018.06.08 - Final X Lincoln and 2023.06.09-10 - Final X & BTS. If I type in final in the Filter Folders search bar, it will filter all of those Final X folders, but it will also include folders like "Final Images" or "Tournament Finals".     That's all well and good. But then if I try to filter it further, by entering final x, I end up adding in any folder name that contains the letter x, like OBX 2012 and Exported, instead of further filtering down to folders that contain the entire search term.   I've tried adding quotation marks around it (both single and double) like "final x", enclosing the term in parentheses (), brackets [], and braces {}, using a boolean operator like final AND x.

I am unable to import the new Cinematic video files to Lightroom Classic (updated) from my iPhone 13 Pro Max (iOS 15.0.2). Any tips or suggestions? Thanks!

As far as I know, there is currently no option in Lightroom Classic to combine automatic editing with custom adjustments. I would love to see a feature that allows users to define manual adjustments that are applied on top of the automatic edits. These additional adjustments could include: Exposure: Brightening all photos by +0.3 stops after the automatic adjustments. White Balance: Increasing the white balance for all photos by +100 points. Highlights: Boosting the highlights for all photos by +10 points. The important part is that the automatic editing remains the foundation, while the user-defined values act as additional adjustments, allowing for greater flexibility. This would make it much easier to adapt the auto adjustments to match a specific style or project vision without needing to fine-tune each image manually. I believe this feature would greatly enhance the workflow for many photographers and content creators.    

I use the "Open as Layers in Photoshop..." command often in my work. I deal with a high volume of product photos, and it would be great if I was able to have a shortcut for this command.  It would also be great if I could select a lot of photos and have them open as layers into seperate files based on the stacks. (not 1 photoshop file with all the layers, but instead several photoshop files, 1 for each stack)   It would be great to see these improvements in future versions. Thank you for considering.

Please can we have an option to add a stroke border in the Lightroom Classic develop panel . It is time consuming to have to either go to print module or move the image to Photoshop to add it . 

Do you guys think you can make the x-button to close out the tethered capture smaller?  

When LR tries to export a photo that's corrupt, the export hangs and never completes. It should produce an error message instead.   Worse, there isn't a way for a plugin to detect and recover gracefully. The call to rendition:waitForRender() will never return, even after the user cancels the corresponding task in the progress bar. Several of my plugins rely on exporting photos, e.g. Any Vision.   To reproduce on LR 13.2 / Mac OS 14.4.1:   1. I was trying to remove a distraction on the corner of the image, and was only selecting what was visible in the crop and the remove tool was giving me weird results. Took me a while to discover that's because I was not selecting the full object till the actual end of the image, which was ocluded by the crop.   What I think a better behaviour should be is, to show the whole uncropped image when you're applying any of the Healing/Remove/AI fill tools, with some minor overlay of what's cropped. If you're using those tool on a portion of the distraction you usually get weird results.   Here's some Remove Tool results by selecting what's visible (after the crop)   I can cincumvent this by drawing a much larger area outside the cropped frame to get good results. But... Not a bug but annoying: Notice how the pin is now greyed out. I can't select it as it's center is outside the limits of the crop.  

I use Loupedeck where I can easily press a key for the transform functions'level' or Auto'.  Sometimes it is necessary to use constrain crop on the image, which requires a mouse over to select the box.  It would add to speed and efficiency to have a shortcut key to select that function.

Hi, I've rented a Canon R6II the past two weeks and made extensive use of the pre-release RAW-burst function to capture daytime lightning. I can extract RAW's from those burst via the Canon DPP4 or in-camera, but it would be nice if Lightroom could handle the roll files as well. Even if only for library management. Extracting RAWs from it like you can do now with JPEG's from movie files would be awesome. Peter

Lightroom allow the named face panel to be frozen / lockedwhen tagging a large number of photos, the unnamed panel gets rather large, and it's difficult to drag to the named panel as it moves up off screen. If the named face panel had the option to freeze it, that would make things a lot easier, similar to function in excel thanks

Hello everyone,   I think that LrC deserves an icon like in ACR or L(cc) for the before\after view option. I don't understand why LrC doesn't has it.   ACR   Lr(cc)

When moving a folder from one drive to another, if it is not being dropped into an existing folder, one cannot complete the move within LRC. In Windows, when performing the same move, one can drop the folder into an empty space at the same nesting level as the existing folders.  That works. Most other folder/file move operations are identical to Windows folder/file management.  This one should be too.

Similar to how match exposures works, is there a way to add a 'match white balance' that can bring images as close as possible to a similar white balance for situations like flourescent or recycling lighting? 

Sometimes I'll have shared an entire gallery of edited images and then at a later time I want to re-edit the entire gallery with a different look.  It would be great to have an easy way to save the original edited version all at once for all the images in the gallery (or those selected) instead of having to create a snapshot of each image one by one before applying the new edits.     Would love to be able to select multiple images I want to create snapshots for and then there would be a submenu available under the '+' sign next to Snapshots that gives the option to create snapshots for 'all selected images'

A few feature requests for Lightroom:   1. Auto exposure (not just auto tones) 2. Auto exposure (or tones) that prioritises skintones (so to expose for the subject, not the whole image) 3. a liquify tool 4. AI culling, similar to that in AfterShoot

The new smart collection select for lens blur in the v13.2 is a much welcome addition.Thanks a bunch.Please do consider expanding the Aspect ratios to more than just Portrait, Landscape and Square. Except for square the other two doesn't provide much help when either one can mean more than just portrait or landscape.Propose that the grouping be consistent with the default in Lightroom Classic. See Attached. I understand there are an infinite number of aspect ratios however the ones listed are the most common and the rest could be group as custom. One way could be to use the aspect ratios such asSquare (1x1)Landscape (2x3)Landscape (8.5x11)etcPortrait (3x2)Portrail (11x8.5) Ignore the pixels dimensioning.

I've been trying out the Auto Stack feature to help with speeding up HDR batches. I'm finding a huge problem in that it seems when you use "Auto Stack by Capture Time" it automatically considers it for all the photos in your folder, not just the ones you selected. I mostly organize my photos by month/year so I want the ability to select a group of them to be analyzed for Auto Stack, not the entire folder. Thanks for any advice or workaround ideas! 

I don't know for how many years we're going to be without scrolling with the zoom, like in any application ever made for Windows/Mac.Just upvote my post so they maybe, eventually, sometime, in my lifetime, add a regular zoom in/out with scroll.

Right now, you can only change the time of an image. But this does not revise the timezone UTC metadata.   Lightroom needs the ability to change the time zone data, as there are many times where the time is correct but the time zone was offset.   exif:OffsetTimeOriginal/EXIF:OffsetTimeDigitized/EXIF:OffsetTime    Some apps, such as Apple Photos, uses the utc offset when organizing images. This means exports from Lightroom would be out of order - not great. 

There is a fundamental programming issue with Lightroom. Many long running tasks block the user from editing pictures.    Let me give a couple of examples: 1) Applying adaptive presets to a batch of photos blocks editing *any* pictures while it's being a applied 2) Importing a catalog prevents lightroom from being used for anything else 3) Using generative fill blocks any other work   As photographers we're often working on multiple projects/photos concurrently. Why is there an assumption by Lightroom engineering that the photographer can only work serially? If I'm applying an adaptive preset to 1000 photos why do I need to wait for that to finish before I can edit any other photos?    It should be an imperative that the UI not be blocked by any task that can be done in the background. If specific photos can't be edited because there are pending changes that's fine (lock them out) but don't block us from working completely.    Please let us fully util

Create a shortcut which moves the selected image(s) in Library to the top of the album. This would be quicker than manual drag and drop in large catalogs which requires scrolling through thousands of images.

Short & sweet but would be a huge game changer - when you hit \ to see before & after in Lightroom, it would be great if the sliders also showed before & after, not just the after.
