I have backed up my Lightroom Classic catalog about once a week since early 2020 using the popup when exiting Lightroom Classic. Ever since January 2023, I have been unable to backup my catalog as usual. Every time I have gone to backup the catalog since then, I receive the error message "(Lightroom was unable to back up the catalog named "Lightroom Catalog-v12") please check your folder permissions, and make sure that you have available space on your backup drive and main catalog's drive". I haven’t been using LrC recently (the last 6 months or so) during which I’ve seen several updates. Today I needed to process several hundred CR2 images (5760x3840) and find that performance has gone through the basement. Switching between images now takes anywhere between 2 and 15 seconds with no rhyme or reason for the long delays. Even skipping back one image, which is usually instantaneous, sometimes takes 5-6 seconds. Here’s my hardware:Ryzen 9 7940HS (8 core 16 thread) with Radeon 780M 64GB memory LR catalog, previews, and raw cache are on a local SSDI have tried all settings of GPU acceleration (off, on, auto, custom) with no discernible effect. I tried increasing the raw cache size to 50gb, but LR doesn’t seem to be using it. After scrolling through about 200 raw images, total cache usage is only 28MB, far below the actual size of the raw files (11GB)I’ve also optimized the catalog, purged the raw cache and regenerated standard previews. That last step helped somewhat bu

Verwende LR classic 15.1.
Introducing Assisted Culling (Early Access) in Lightroom Classic. For providing feedback for Lightroom Desktop, click here. TL;DR – Assisted Culling is getting faster, more powerful, and more accurate as we head to GA. If you tried in October 2025, we urge you to try the new version and give us feedback – especially for wedding & portrait photographers. We’re eager to hear your feedback! Assisted Culling has received several updates since Early Access launched in October 2025. If you tried it then, here's what's new: April 2026 Significantly improved handling of shallow depth-of-field for photos – a major customer ask. Images with intentional background blur are now more reliably recognized and kept rather than rejected as out-of-focus. We’ve retrained the “Reject model” so it has more accurate identification of reject-worthy images. Additionally, an image can now be flagged under multiple reject reasons simultaneously: Exposure Issues: includes a sensitivity slider so you
I have a Windows pc with LRC installed. What should my settings be in the export dialog in order to export 24MP photos at full resolution. At present, images exported are no longer shown at full resolution or size, after switching to a new pc? Also, images exported with JpegXL selected do not export correctly. The Microsoft Store has tried to sell me a download for the problem - does Adobe have a fix?
I've been experimenting with different cinematic editing styles recently and noticed trends seem to change every year. Some photographers prefer moody film-inspired looks, while others like cleaner cinematic color grading with natural skin tones.I've been testing several preset collections, including my own Cinemora presets, and I'm curious what styles Lightroom users are currently gravitating toward.Which cinematic editing style do you think is most popular in 2026?
Hi,I just moved LrC (v15.3.1) to a new PC (win 11). Moved images (NEF files) from card into a folder. In LrC clicked on Import, selected the folder. LrC shows message “No files found”.I can’t figure why. Am I missing something? Something happened to the LrC during the install?Thank you very much.AK
Something I found recently that may help https://colorsuite.app
For around (I think a month or so) I’ve had issues with masks and some of the pre-sets in Develop module. For example if I go to ‘Enhance portrait’ on many photos where there is a clear person it will fail and pop up a window with title - Preset: Enhanced Portrait Error. An unexpected error occurred while processing. (1){filename here} That’s all it says.Or other times I’ll ask it to pick a subject or I’ll try to create an object and after selecting object or subject then nothing. Nothing is selected. I’ve also seen it where I’ve applied a setting across many files, then it will ask to re-apply the AI settings (this is in masking again) even though nothing has changed. Lightroom Classic 15.1 — exporting from Smart Previews despite originals being linked. No ! badge on thumbnails, Show in Finder finds the CR3 files correctly, folders appear linked, but all exports come out at ~2000px (Smart Preview size) instead of 6000px. Catalog has ~10,000 missing photos from previous folder moves. Tried: Update Folder Location, Discard Smart Previews, Optimize Catalog. Nothing works."
In 15.3 they worked fine.In 15.3.1 pressing the button makes Lightroom think for a second but no mask is added.Downgrading back to 15.3 solved the issue again.
My Adobe corporate account is no longer active as of 6/5/2026 and I forgot to transfer/download my LR photos to my personal account. I can't access the adobe account. Any other ways to access my former LR library? The articles I'm finding show how to initiate a download but you’d need to access the original account.thanks!Terry
This was meant to be a bug report not question but oh well. Lightroom stalls when the bar get to ~5%.
How do I do this?WHen I try to import, with my iPhone plugged into my Mac, the Destination does not show up in the Import Module in LRC 15.3.1. If I try to save or import from iCloud, all the photos show up as HEIC files, and are greyed out. I have several hundred photos on the iPhone 17 that I’d like to import into LR. I’ve done some work on them using SnapSeed, but I prefer Lightroom.
Lightroom Classic versjon: 14.4 Operativsystem: Mac OS 15 As of this new version I am not able to denoise a batch of photos, only individual ones. Can't find any guidance as to how this can be fixed. Hope you can help me, thanks.
Several of my folders have images that were imported and now are not showing up. For example, a folder in my lightroom catalog says I have 334 images when the folder actually has 350. If I choose import, it shows I have no new photos. When I go to Synchronize folder, it tells me 16 are missing and when I hit import in the Sync dialog box, it says no new photos are there. Pulling my hair out. I have deleted preview.lrdata file, reset preferences, expanded stacks, and tried all the suggestions in previous posts about this problem. HELP. thanks.
I have some old collections in LrC that were put on 500px using their now-defunct Publishing Service. I’d like to delete them, but I can’t. And I can’t reinstall the publishing service because when I do, 500px doesn't return a login code, because the plug-in is no longer supported. Any thoughts on how to get rid of these published collections if the original publish service is unavailable? Thanks.(Just trying to de-clutter my library...)
Currently, Lightroom automatically reorders rules after saving and reopening a Smart Collection. This destroys the visual structure created by the user and makes complex collections significantly harder to read and maintain. For example, I often group rules like this:Photographer ACamera Serial Number 1 Camera Serial Number 2 Camera Serial Number 3Photographer BCamera Serial Number 1 Camera Serial Number 2Photographer CCamera Serial Number 1After saving, Lightroom rearranges the rules by field type, making it impossible to see which camera serial numbers belong to which photographer. Please preserve the user-defined rule order exactly as entered. In addition, Smart Collections would greatly benefit from organizational tools such as:Rule groups or sections Collapsible categories Visual separators User notes/comments Labels for groups of rulesComplex Smart Collections are often used as production tools and can easily contain dozens of rules. Without organization features, they quickly beco
I am using Lightroom Classic and I have a storage issue.Whenever I import photos into Lightroom or export them as JPEGs, it seems that copies of the files are being stored on my computer's internal drive. I would like to avoid this because my internal storage fills up very quickly. Some time ago, I copied all of my camera photos from the memory card directly to an external hard drive, and I want the original files to remain there. When I export photos as JPEGs, I also want those JPEG files to be saved directly to the external hard drive. My goal is that no photo files are stored on my computer's internal drive at all—only on the external hard drive. How can I configure Lightroom Classic so that both the original photos and the exported JPEGs are stored only on my external hard drive and nothing is saved on my computer's internal drive?
Hello,I use command+L a lot to switch quickly between filter on and filter off (especially when deleting photos).Again, after some time it happened, that it stopped working to turn filters on. No matter which filter I use (preset or manually), command+L only works one more time to turn filters off. Second command+L does NOT work to turn filters on again. Every following command+L shows “Library Filters Off”.When this happened before, AI told me (after trying many changes in settings and restoring files) to restore an old Lightroom catalogue. This worked then, and I did so because I did not loose many changes and hoped, the error would never occur again. But today, the idea of going back to an old catalogue causes sweat and tears. Why is the ability to switch between filters on/off stored in the catalogue? The above described solution can not be the only one! How can I get to turn on and off filters (with command+L or by using the menue) to work again as intended? It is too time consuming
Since Lightroom 15.3 update sometimes when I am going through photos in Develop mode photo wont switch, it switches on filmstrip but not on main window so I need to go back and forth for it to refresh. Same problem on 2 different computers, only fix is downgrading to 15.2. I dont know if its a catalog bug or not but my catalog is not corrupted, I tried optimizing it, changing integrity, disabling gpu acceleration. Anyone experienced same problem? It's really annoying and time consuming.EDIT: title should say stuck, sorry for that. Cant change it now.
I need help fixing a problem I cause moving photos from one folder to another. I had two folders, Lightroom Photos and Guy’s Lightroom photos. They seem redundant so I dragged the photos, in Lightroom, from the Guy’s Lightroom Photos folder into the Lightroom Photos Folder and then I remove the empty Guy’s Lightroom Folder. Now, when I open the catalog and go the Lightroom Photos folder, all the photos are there but the chronological file system is gone. I have one big group of 14,000+ photos. When they were in the Guy’s Lightroom Folder the were saved under Year/Month/Day/Capture Time. I’ve lost that. Is there a way to created that structure to where I moved the photos in the Lightroom Photos folder? I’m completely confounded by this situation.
