Lightroom Classic

I’ve been experiencing multiple issues managing my photo library with Lightroom Classic (LrC). These problems occur time to time diring last year, but they have become much more frequent in the latest versions, sometimes happening several times a day now Missing smart previews: When my external hard drive is disconnected (with smart previews generated), I’ve tried exporting low-resolution images, but nothing happens—no reaction at all. I noticed that LrC shows "original photo" instead of "smart preview." After restarting LrC, it works fine for a while. Moving files between folders: When I attempt to move files from one folder to another, nothing happens. After restarting LrC, it works fine for a while. Book module: I tried exporting a PDF book with original photos stored on an external drive. After connecting the drive, some photos are randomly marked as missing, preventing the export. Again, after restarting, it works fine for a while. Flagging and rating: Sometimes, flagging

13.2 was a rocketship on my computer 64gb RAM 2 2tb M.2 drives. 13.3 and 13.3.1 are almost unusable.  Switching from one photo to another in a shoot of about 1000 photos (Catalog has about 150k) takes 20 seconds or more. It was instant in 13.2. Exporting 100 JPGS take 5 times longer at least. Using things like the crop tool in the develop module is so laggy that it is almost impossible to use. It was like liquid glass in 13.2.    Please, fix. Not doing a whole summer like this. Don't make me switch editors.

HI everyone.   my Lighroom won't launch in Win10, I have tried deleting the preferences file under    C:\Users\Khosrow Jalali\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences but no change.   I don't have a backup of my system unforetunately, so it doesn't help.I also tried holding the <Shift> <Alt> keys when launching LRC however nothing happens. I open lightroom classic, Library Tab, and when i click on any folder with my images, the little bubble at the bottom pops up that says it is "Loading".  That is where it stops.  As i am writing, the image has been trying to load for the past 20 minutes.  I am using a Seagate 5gb external harddrive to store both Lightroom and my images.  i do this so i can switch between my laptop (currently plugged into) and my desktop at home.  i updated everything i could to the latest version, lightroom, windows, etc.  I even ran virus scans of the laptop and external harddrive.  When i import photos from my camera, Canon R5, via external card reader, i also import the embedded JPEG's. Here is the system info for Lightroom and my Laptop system: 

Hello out there,Can anyone help me please. This is driving me nuts. When I close the develop module in LR Classic it returns me to the Louple view (single image of the one I have been editing ) instead of returing to the Grid view. I have accidentally changed something but cannot find how to change this defualty setting. Any clues please? Gareth

After editing  photos in Develop I switch to Library so I could share them. The photo is not like I edited it and not original either. Kind of a cross of the two. This has never happened before.   [moved from bugs to discussions according to the community rules - Mod.]

Hallo zusammenHabe vor ein paar Tagen meinen PC gewechselt. Den Ordner mit dem Lightroombackup habe ich  auf eine externe Festplannte kopiert. Nun kann ich den Backupkatalog auf dem neuen PC nicht öffnen da eine Fehlermeldung  wegen Schreibgestützt kommt. Den gesamten Backupordner kann ich zwar kopieren, den darin enthaltenen Katalog einzeln aber nicht. Öffnen geht schon gar nicht. Rechtsklick und Schreibschutz entfernen klappt leider nicht.Falls hilfreich hier mein System:Win 11 Pro, Intel i9  14900k, RTX 4080S, 32GB Ram Kennt jemand das Problem und hat eine Lösung dazu? Die Bearbeitungen der letzten 5 Jahre wären einfach dahin  sonst.

Hola, El problema que tengo es que ahora cuando quiero importar mis fotos desde un disco externo a Lr, me sale un cuadro de dialogo muy estrechito . No sé como volver a la forma anterior, ya que ni siquiera me sale el margen izquierdo para buscar  mis fotos a importar, y visualizarlas.Alguien más con ésto?Gracias.

Thank. you in advance for your help/time.    Several months ago I started having issues exporting out of Lightroom Classic. I would start the export of jpg files and it would act like it was starting but never actually do anything. Then I started having issues importing as well. I have been using the same catalog which has 600,000+ images, all sync'd with the cloud.    Long story short, after several support calls trying all the usual fixes, the only thing that seems to work is to create a new catalog and NOT sync it with my existing cloud files. As soon as I do that, my problems creep into the new catalog as well. Not right away but as the numbers of sync'd images grows, so do my problems. One helpful Adobe support person told me to pause my sync, whcih actually DOES

Hallo,ich benutze LrC und Nik Collection. Hier am liebsten das Nik HDR.Dazu mache ich immer 3er Belichtungsreihen, die ich dann exportiere nach Nik. Dabei wird dann eine neue Datei angelegt, die ich dann extern bearbeiten kann und wenn ich speichere, lande ich ich wieder in LrC.Allerdings erstellt er für jedes dieser Bilder eine eigene Sammlung. Ich will das deaktivieren. Ich will einfach nach dem Speicher wieder in dem Ordner landen, aus dem heraus ich den Export gemacht habe. Wie könnte  das gehen?

Hello, I want to be able to work with my Lightroom catalog (LRC) on my laptop AND iMac. Currently, the catalog is located in my picture folder on my iMac. If I copy the LRC catalog to an SSD drive, what would I do with the catalog on my iMac>pictures folder? The images are on external hard drives. What is the best workflow for me to work on the go (using my laptop) and minimize confusion?   Thank you in advance for your expertise, Cheryl

My Lightroom Classic has been stuck syncing over 300 photos forever.  I initiated a chat with support and was instructed to try to make changes to one of the photos and then resync and it informed me that the file was damaged, so I was not able to edit it.  I'm thinking that that might be the case with all of them. I have confirmed that photos sync to iCloud from Lightroom Mobile, but they do not sync to my desktop. I did generate a diagnostic report but don't know how to reach tech support to assist me with this issue.

I'm running Lightroom Classic and Photoshop on a MacBook Pro 14 M1 with 16GB memory and 1TB SSD.Both applications have been updated to their latest versions.I don't often use the option to edit a photo in Photoshop, since Lightroom provides almost all functionality that I need to edit my photos.But from the photos of my latest photo shoot I wanted to remove an object that Lightroom wasn't able to remove without visible/noticable artifacts. So I wanted to try if Photoshop could do a better job. I selected the option Edit in Photoshop 2024 in Lightroom, after which Photoshop was launched. But the photo was not desplayed inside Photoshop. INstead I got a blank screen, as if I had started the Photoshop app by clicking the icon in de Dock.I have NOT changed any settings on the External Editing tab in de Preferences window.In the recent past I've installed a beta version of Photoshop 2024 through the Create Cloud app, but decided to remove it once Photoshop 2024 was officially released and i

I set the cell size to 13.50 in height and 10.50 in width and all margins to 0.25 in. I checked the Borderless option in Printer Settings but left Expansion to the default Auto Expansion. I've not seen this setting before, so I left it alone.  My print margins and image size are all wrong.  Image Size: 10.75 x 13.875Margins: 0.125 (left), 0.0625 (right), 0.125 (top), 0.0625 (bottom) I wasted two fine art papers. I'm always fighting this problem of setting the margins I want and getting the prints right. What am I doing wrong here?

I ran into the issue that running Denoise was causing LrC to hang. The Denoise itself was working fine because I could see the .DNG being created within seconds. But the UI was unresponsive for an inordinate amount of time. While this was happening, there was 0% CPU usages, ~2MB/s disk usage, and about ~10mbit network usage. I have the catalog on a local disk and the files on a NAS connected with 10GbE.I connected to my NAS and enabled SMB logging and that's when I saw tens of thousands of entries of Lightroom reading every single file in my catalog at a pace of about 10 images/sec.  The Denoise does eventually finish and the UI becomes responsive after about 30 minutes. I don't know if the issues are related because I've been experienced a multitude of strange performance issues recently, but I can't figure out what possible reason Lightroom would have for reading every RAW file in my catalog.  I'm kind of at my wits end, I've wasted an entire day trying to ge

After updating to 13.5, Lightroom often freezes when I try to export more than ~10 photos with watermark. I need to do many exports of 10 photos instead of one with for example 25 photos. Is there any fix for this?

I have been using this software since 2018.I tried to activate it on my fresh Windows 10 installation, but after online activation the software just doesn't start, retried a few times - then my account was temporarily blocked.I then tried offline activation, which looked promising, but tells me "this serial number has been revoked by Adobe". Can anybody please reactivate my license? I mean, I bought it as a perpetual license, how can it be revoked?How do I contact Adobe representatives on that topic?

After an incredibly long wait, the R6 MKII was finally supported for therhered shooting in LRC. Was working perfectly fine a few days ago, and now it has mysteriously stopped. I have tried everything from updating camera firmware, updating to the  version of latest LRC, changing USB ports, changing cables, restarting PC, restarting camera etc etc, and nothing is working. Am constanstly getting the "Detecting Camera' spinning wheel. Connected my old 5D MKII and it had no issues. A few days ago some bizarre behavior started.   I open LrC. It is in Grid View. Everything appears normal except there is only gray where images should be both in the grid view and in the filmstrip. I open the Develop Module. Again, nothing but gray where images should be. I click on an image in the filmstrip however, and suddenly it shows up in the filmstrip and in the develop screen above. I click on another image in the filmstrip and the same thing happens. I do it a third time. Now I do it a fourth time and the first image that I clicked on in the filmstrip becomes gray again. I go back to the library module and the three that showed in the develop module now show in the grid and filmstrip. All others remain gray.   Things I've tried. Restarting LrC. Rebooting the computer and restarting LrC. Turning off the graphics processor in Preferences.   Bizarre situation. Any thoughts appreciated. Un de mes disque externe viens de "crasher", sur le quel était une bonn partie de ma base lightroom.Heuresemetn avec une vielle machine sur lequel le disque monte encore j'ai pu récupérer l'emsemble et le transférer dans un nouveau disque. Comment faire comprendre à lightroom que j'ai changer de disque pour la même bibliotheque.et donc garder toute les modification du catalogue lightroom? merci 

Macbook pro, LRC version 13.5.1.         Sequoia 15.0 My usual way of working is to edit images from the import folder then, attributes > filter for uneditted files> select all > delete from disc. Today the process goes through the normal sequence and the progress bar completes. I then get the pop up The file named “DSC_2866.NEF” could not be moved to the Trash folder Any ideas?

I've seen this reported many times. This just randomly stopped working for me. I have uninstalled and reinstalled about 5 times now and it has not ficed the issue.  "lightroom classic and adobe photoshop are having issues connecting, please reinstall photoshop and try again" I've done this, many times. No change. Anyone getting this problem again recently and have a solution other than uninstalling and reinstalling? Yes, I reinstalled photoshop first.  Also, the context menu used to say photoshop 2023, not it says 2023. When I select the install other versions form more options, it tells me I have the latest version. No 2024 option.  Yes, my plan is current and includes these apps.

I'm used to the masking tool not selecting the occassional body part, but recently I'm noticing that the selection has a hard straight line cutting off parts (see screenshot below). I can use other tools to fix this, but it seems very odd that the selection is so wierdly incomplete.  Computer specs: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700KF, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, 32Gb DDR5 Thanks for any suggestions you have.  

Hi everyone,I use Lightroom to create panoramas, and I enjoy the experince a lot. I does not create defects and it adjusts the colors between scenes smoothly.I have only one MAJOR, issue. When I create 360 cylindrical panoramas (that are supposed to be closed and to be viewed in a circle, Lightroom creates a panorama but it does not close it, It does not even try to close it. In other words, it does not make the adjustments for stitching and in terms of colors between the first and last picture in the set in order to close the circle. If I open the created panorama in a panorama viewer it's not giving me a roundview, or it simply shows color differences between the first and last picture (the left and right area of the panorama) This is something that could be easily achieved, but it does not seem to work at all, even if I select cylindrical.There is no control for telling Lightroom that it is a 360 pano that has to be closed.Any idea? Am I doing something wrong?Thanks a lotBest regard
