Lightroom Classic

Hi! I am using Lightroom classic. I exported some images as high res out of my Lightroom after editing. Will it mess with the quality of the images if I import the edited (high res) images back into my Lightroom catalog to make a few more tweaks. Then export again as high res?  I am wanting to try the Evoto app to try to remove glasses glare and I believe it connects to Lightroom classic some how. thanks!

Uso o LightRoom Classic no meu MacBook e recentemente comprei um Storage para guardar as fotos e trabalhar nelas sem estar com um HD externo conectado ao Mac. Gostaria de carregar as fotos para o Storage, criar os catálogos e fazer a edição com os arquivos nele, mas aparentemente o LightRoom Classic não tem suporte para a criação de catálogos a partir de uma pasta da rede. Alguém saberia me dar uma sugestão de qual a melhor forma de trabalhar essa parte do armazenamento das fotos?  

Hi There, I need help.  LCR is not exporing 300PPI. Im exporting like I normally do and have 300PPI in the resolution but its only exporing 96PPI. Why is it not exporting correctly?  

hola.  Necesito ayuda con mi LrC tengo un problema de espacio en mi compu IMac que antes no sucedía al parecer LrC está generando una copia de mis trabajos y la está guardando en mis documentos aunque yo lo trabajo desde una memoria externa de 5T estos se generan en mis documentos aunque compu (o eso creo que está pasando ) lo que hace que esté más lenta y me genere un mensaje de espacio insuficiente. Alguna recomendación ? 

I have been using LR for about two years, but just noted that photo files exported from LR become much smaller than before. For example, I have an image RAW file of 34 MB. After very basic editing (no cropping) and exporting the file,  the size is only 3MB. I exported the same file last Oct and it was 17.7 MB. I do not seem to have changed any of the settings for exporting the file. Could anyone here tell me if there is anything wrong? The only change is that I updated LR. Just googled for a while but could not find a good answer. Many thanks!

I have just downloaded Lightroom Classic (version 14.0.1) on my Mac (OS Sequioa 15.1) but Apple Photos isn't showing up as a source to import photos from. I have spent hours uninstalling and reinstalling the apps. Is LrC incompatible with Apple Photos?

When I load a selection of images into the library grid based on a metadata search, the thumbnails are ridiculously slow to load.  I have built standard previews for ALL images (took days).  Yet the behavior is exactly the same as before I built the previews.  When I scroll the grid, the new set of images has no thumbnails and each one takes ~ 1 second to load.  That's absurd.  It seems Lightroom is building the thumbnails on every load rather than caching them.  Is that true?  How do I retain the thumbnails between sessions or searches?  Why doesn't building previews help with loading thumbnails?   This is NOT a hardware issue.  So please don't spam me with "you need faster hard drives" or "you need faster processors".  Every bit of my setup is fast from local workstation with RAID 0 SSD's to 1Gbps NAS image storage.

Until about 6 months ago it has always opened to the most recent folder.  Since then Lightroom Classic started opening the last catalog every single time (I never use catalogs). I have to navigate to the lastest folder and it's time consuming and annoying. 

I am a long-time user of LrC (since day one) but infrequent user of Lr Mobile and syncing. I had previously set up LrC to sync a few collections, and have also synced from my iPad (photos added using Lr Mobile). Now I'm trying to clear that all up and start fresh. I stopped syncing any existing LrC (13.3) collections that had been set to sync (maybe 6-10 of them) by removing the Sync option from them. As expected Lr/Lr Mobile/Lr Web removes these from Albums.I deleted everything from All Synced Photos (14GB used went to 415MB, so it seemed to work) - all photos are now gone in Lr Mobile, etc.Permanently deleted photos in the Deleted folder using Lr WebPaused syncing in LrCI Delete All Synced Data and rebuild the sync data from Preferences in LrC, restart LrC Now I want to start syncing a few collections for displaying on my iPad or web.I set two collections (one existing and one new) to sync. Sync indicator shows up for those collections.I added two photos to the new col

Hello, Is it possible to export all the pictures by parent folder instead of selecting each individual subfolder's contents? To be more specific, instead of going into each subfolder, selecting all images and then export, is there some way to export all of the images from the parent folder? ex.) "nature" parent folder might have subfolders birds, ducks, moose, deer. Can you export all folders and its contents by selecting the "nature" parent folder for it to export "nature" and the subfolders with the images in each subfolder? I know it is possible to choose the parent folder and select all images and export but then all of the pictures from each subfolder are mixed together and are not organized into the proper subfolders. That can be a mess to sort out. Thanks,

I've been using Lighroom CC for a long time , in the latest versions of the app ( now current 14.0) after having developed a raw file in the specific area, the warning sign appear in the library decribing that the picture has been modified by external app. Which is not because modification has been done within the App. All my raw file are saved externally on a NAS synology :  Current OS :  - Mac OS 15.0.1 (24A348)    NAS OS  - DSM 7.2-64570   Not exactly recorded from which Os o App version the problem occured.    [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]

Hello:The following sequence occurred with my Lightroom software:Lightroom frozeAfter waiting for awhile, I turned off the computerI turned the computer back onWhen I clicked on the Lightroom icon, I got the following message: "The Lightroom catalog named "Lightroom catalog" cannot be opened because another application already has it opened. I am then given three options:Choose a different catalogContinueExitNone of these options results in the software opening.I suspect that the software did not close properly when I turned off the computer. I upgraded to LrC 14.0 (and 14.0.1) as soon as it was made available since the previous version(s) had issues with my NVidia RTX GPU (yes, I keep my drivers up to date). I have to say that version 14 has not had any issues with my RTX GPU (yet) but it is generally slow. Even though I have a decent machine (Windows 11, i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz, 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD). But the previous LrC version(s) were slow too.  The problem I have right now is when I hit "D" for the develop module, the settings/presets applied sometimes disappear. It is really annoying and slowing down my workflow obviously. I assume this must be a bug of the new version?

As the subject says, I'm curious if there's any new plugins or developments about an internal-to-Lightroom field or drop down that allows one to create a project list and or a to do list per folder or catalog (as opposed to individual image metadata notes.) I'm thinking of something like PostNotes 2 for Premiere.

recent eye surgery has left me unable to read the small print interface in LR classic.  I would like to make the interface only larger for my poor eyesight, but keep the zoom options for the image as usual.  Is this possible?  Mac OS sonoma 14.6.1.  Up to date Photoshop 2025.   Lightroom classic v14.0.1  

My SSD fried on my desktop and I had to replace with a new SSD. After reinstalling Windows 10 and Lightroom Classic, I downloaded my Lightroom catalog from an online backup service (I do not have a lightroom backup file only the lcat file - I know, stupid on my part) I can open Lightroom and create a new catalog, but it freezes when I try to open the catalog in question. I've tried moving the lock file to the bin, uninstalling and reinstalling Lightroom, but it will not open and freezes the starting process of opening Lightroom. I did notice in the Lightroom folder where the catalog resides the lock file reappears and flashes. Can anyone suggest something I haven't seen in this forum yet? Thanks so much for your help. 

After a highly confusing and unwanted upgrade to v14 I uninstalled LR Classic (bad idea?) . I thought I could reinstall back to v13 but can only see v8.0 available . Any help on rescuing this would be most appreciated.

Hi there at first i thought this might be an issue specific to my KVM setup, using single-GPU passthrough. However, Photoshop works wonderfully and also Lightroom CC does not suffer from any issues. Lightroom Classic v11 however does not let me move placed masks. I cannot rotate/resize/... any of them (e.g. radial or linear ones. The controls at first are shown, but glitch away as soon as i try to use them:I am currently running on macOS Big Sur v11.6.1 with a Radeon RX 570 8 GB graphicscard.The issue is gone when downgrading to the previous release but this is no long-term solution. Looking at /Users/milan/Library/Logs/NGL/NGLClient_LightroomClassic111.0.log, while messing around with those masks, no log is generated. May i increase the loglevel somehow? Regards 🙂

This is only happening in the last few days.  I noticed that my GPU was running at 100%, or nearly, and the computer became nearly unusable.  I typically have 3 editing programs open (photoshop, lightroom, PTGui), and a youtube video running, which runs smoothly.  The video became unwatchably choppy, and even the mouse didnt move smoothly across the screen. Task Manager shows that "Desktop Window Manager" is using ~60% GPU, and "Client Server Runtime Process" is using the remaining 35-40%, though they do fluctuate somewhat.  After some trial and error, some restarts and whatnot, it kept coming back.  The only way to stop it is to close Lightroom Classic. I upgraded to the most recent version of LRC, didn't help.  Also using latest Nvidia driver. EVGA GTX 1070 SC

When ever I try to sync edits on photos or copy and paste setting the white balance never copys over. 

It used to be that when I imported photos to LR Classic, using an Import Preset, the destination folder was visible on the lower right side of the screen in the import dialog. Not any more (for a couple of versions now I'd say).Now all I see is Macintosh HD and the users folder. Maybe it's important to note that I'm importing into a dropbox folder that on recent mac os versions is in /Library. It used to be that the Destination folder tree was untwirled to the actual destination folder and I could select another sub-folder for example. Any idea how to make it show up again?  

Heya! Having problems in both Lr & LrC. Every time I apply Lens Blur it says: "some Ai settings need be recomputed", I select Update and it tells me Something went wrong. Doint this on both Lr & LrC. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you xo

Hello I am a photgrapher and i have shifted to lightroom from an other photo editor app a few days ago. I need some lightroom presets for photo editing. I motely need Aesthetic prestes. If any body have, plz do share. Thanks in advance.

I have had a problem appear in the past week that is very annoying! I shoot say 50 images (nikon z8), import them from an SD card to my 2021 M1 Macbook Pro and between half and 3/4 of the images do not have an EXIF data. "Metadata Status" is "Has been changed" and I only have the pixel dimensions of the shot in the EXIF.  If I delete all the images with no EXIF data and import again from the card, some have the EXIF data, some don't. I updated to 14.0.1 and this problem persists. This problem appeared out of the blue. I have attached the the metadata for two images that were imported one after the other below.
