Lightroom Classic

I've been using LRC for a couple of years now, but in the last couple of updates (or maybe even a little longer than that) I noticed that it's become VERY slow. I called tech support the other day and they remote-deksed into my machine and looked it over. After a while they had me sign out and then back in again, finally after updating the video card it seemed to work MUCH better, but then the next day, it slowed back down and now I'm back to where I was. Taking multiple seconds just to go from one tab to another. I use internal drives for my editing (MV2) and a brand new machine with 128gb ram and a 12gb Envidia 3060 video card. This thing should be a beast, but it's slower than my old machine. Experienced a problem with the Lightroom Classic upgrade going from 13.5.1 to 14.0 and to 14.01.I upgraded on the day of release (Oct 14th) and the actual upgrade from 13.5.1 to 14.0 appeared to have been executed successfully. Carried out some minor sanity checks to make sure the upgraded version was ok. Still had my usual problem where I’m unable to create large numbers of previews at a time – but that has been around for a couple of years so that was par for the course.The following day version 14.01 was released and I updated. However, after this update, carrying the same sanity checks resulted in Lightroom crashing. The new diagnostic feature came up and informed me that problem was caused by 14.0 and a new version 14.01 was available for installation. I thought did I make a mistake and not install 14.01. Checked with Creative cloud app and that showed 14.01 installed on the system. Yet every time I started Lightroom and checked the Help/ About Lightroom Classic - version 14.0 was

LRC 13-3, Windows 11, AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS, 64GBEvery resource on the web, going back years, says to open the profile browser and right-click on the profile name to rename it. This no longer works, right-click does nothing here, on ANY profile name. Has this ability been removed? How does one rename a develop profile? Update: I found the profile browser in ACR (when opening a CR2 in Photoshop), and find that there too, although right-click does bring up some options, it appears it's not possible to rename the profile there either.

I use a MacPro 2019 as my primary production machine (mostly LrC library and images) and have a little over 4tb on an aging G-Tech 4-drive RAID, configured RAID 0. RAID 5 was too slow for 4K video so using it as RAID 0 with backup to other spinning drives. RAID is starting to get a little glitchy so I will be moving these files to an Oyen U34 8tb external SSD and using that as working drive. Never have done such a migration. Would it be better to copy all files including the catalog files to the new drive, create a new Library and import the old library or just open the original catalog. Would opening the old catalog require relinking (there are about 70,000 images in my catalog) or will LR find the files. I'll be backing up to smaller external SSD's that I have sitting around. I just think it is time to ditch spinning disks both for speed as well as dependability. 

I have no idea what is going on here, I have been editing for a few hours and all of a sudden I clicked over to a new image and it turned the whole thing dark. Ctrl-Z only deselected the image and then it went back to normal. But when I clicked on another image it happened again. I tried resetting the image and applying my preset (that is not one I have to make big adjustments from) and even when I apply the preset it goes WAY dark. Not sure what is happening or if I've done something to make this happen - hoping someone can help.

Est ce qu'on peut ouvrir un catalogue unique pour lire soit sur un Mac ou un PC.Actuellement j'utilise LRC sur 2 mac avec un catalogue sur mon MBP M1 et un sur mon MacPro avec OCLP.Depuis la nouvelle version LRC 14.0.1 elle n'est pas lu avec le MacPro.Si j'installe  Windows sur le MacPro est-ce que LRC pourra tourner avec le catalogue sur Mac et PC formaté pour être lu sur Mac et PC (en NTFS) par exemple.C'est une question pour savoir ...

For months now, Lightroom CC has become the most bug filled useless piece of software I've ever had to use.  It hogs memory like you wouldn't believe - has to be restarted regularly (every 2-3 pictures worth of editing) because it become unusably slow. Exports fail regularly with 'Unknown error'Denoise fails regularly with 'Unknown error'Denoise crashes my Nvidia display drivers on occasion - that really messes up my machine. I'm an IT expert so I know my machine is well spec'd and configured to run Windows 11 efficiently. I have no problems with any other software breaking things and I do a fair bit of image and video processing.  Why is Adobe allowed to get away with charging subscriptions for this PATHETIC poorly written and obviously untested rubbish?! Okay, first of all, I upgraded my LrC this morning, day 1 of Adobe MAX. I don't see in CC that there are any additional updates, nor do I see a way to revert back to the old version. Disappointing. I'm having an issue with exporting images. They don't export. The progress bar fills up but never finishes. I also am not seeing the option to just export, only export with presets. (The image files in the finder screen shot were downloaded from Lr Web.) Specs: MacBook Pro, M1 Max, Sequoia OS 15.1, LrC 14.0  I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance. Although LrC usually runs smoothly for me, this is frustrating.  Goodnight, I will check in in the morning. Fried.       

I'm making masking and lens blur modifications to photos and they are not being saved, even within the same editing session. I get a message that AI mask changes and blur settings need to be updated. I click the update buttons and move on to the next image but when I return to the first image, the updates have not been saved. Very frustrating! Suggestions?

Add new mask to Subject and Background is not working in the latest version - 13.4. Lr is trying to detect the subject, but it ends with no result. Also, it always shows there are no people in the photo but there are people even if there is only one subject Lr is not detecting subjects/people.   So, paying for the advanced AI options is a waste of money. My workflow got slower because of this issue.   [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules. A ‘bug’ is not just another word for any problem with software!]

Is anyone elses LR classic being extremely slow? my photos wont load in either library nor develop module. I have tried updting.... tried making a new catalog, then imported photos from othr catalog.... 

How do I create new keyboard shortcuts in Lightroom classic for Windows?

Been scratching my head on this one...   I have been employing a VA for some months to train and assist in editing of my preschool photos.  Currently, we are on v13.5.1 (Win10) and will remain here for some time until later this year.   Here is the issue...   I send my VA the catalog along with the Smart Previews, Preview, and .lrcat-data db's.  This information is exported from a known catalog that is not corrupt and is kept fairly clean (frequent catalog optimization).  When the VA opens the .lrcat file, he gets an unknown error and cannot open it any further.  We have tried to open Lr and then the catalog and also open the catalog directly.   A workaround was found rather by accident by the VA and that has worked more or less until now.  He found that if he renamed the catalog that I sent him to example.lrcat.lrcat and the Smart Previews db to example.lrcat Smart Previews.lrcat (adding the .lrcat where shown), the

Latest version - Windows 10. The guidelines that appear when using the linear gradient and radial gradient tools not longer appear when using those tools. (Just the colour overlay is shown). How do I get the guidelines back please?

Since the new iOS and latest update to Lightroom Classic, i am unable to import any photos from my iphone or my wife's.    I tried to reset the privacy settings per an article I found online but it did not make any difference.   My iphone is connected to Mac Studio and it is a trusted computer but when I go to the import dialogue, the iphone does not appear as a source for photos.    I can see the phone and access content via Mac Finder so it is connected and accessible outside of the Lightroom Classic App.   Any ideas? 

Been a LR user for many years. Just updated to v 14. When I use the remove tool after making the selection nothing happens. Tried all combinations.  Remove woks fine in Potoshop.  What am I doing wrong.

I would expect that the color labe would be applied but instead it changes the history of the editing. It may be more complicated than just undoing a step. See the video.... It didn't record my voice for some reason, so see the description below... It shows the sky in the photo going black when I choose a color label.The history panel seems to jump to a previous history. Hi there,   In Lightroom CC I do editing and culling for clients and we've always just exported the catalog and dropped it in Dropbox. I'll open it, do my edits and then the client can just open it on their end when I'm done and it's closed out. My new client, regardless if I just use the live catalog in Dropbox, or I export the catalog as a new catalog and send it to her, cannot see the same thing I am and cannot open it. The screenshots attached show what I see (thumbnails) and what she sees (list). Hello everyone, i need your Help please, because i cant work with Lightroom at the Moment. For Timelapse and Pictures i edit them in Lightroom, then i export them in Tiffs Rec2020 HDR. To make a Timelapse or Video i use DaVinci. All Colour Spaces are right for the Workflow and it worked very fine all the Year. But seems like after last Lightroom Update, Lightroom changed the intern Colour Space and Deep. If i test old Pictures Tiffs with HDR edited with LR in DaVinci, they work fine and they look exactly like in Lightroom. So it can't be the Problem from DaVinci. But the new ones look ugly and i cant match another Colour Space. So my Question is, is in Lightroom is an Colour Managment update or Failure?I really hope someone can help me fast, i want to upload my next Video   Patrick

I have hundreds of thousands of photographs taken over fifty years in a Lightroom CC catalog. The normal metadata fields for all images include, among other things, the date/time and longitude/latitude.  I can see the locations in the Lightroom map module. A) My current project requires county data. Since there is no "county" field, I have been inserting that data into an otherwise unused field. Due to the quantities involved, doing this manually for older images or where the city/sublocation may straddle county lines is unrealistic.B) I need to generate captions from this metadata showing "year-sublocation-county-state." Future projects may require some other caption configuration. In the Print module, I can do what I want, but that does not generate durable metadata.Neither of these objectives seems to be included in Lightroom CC. There is a commercial product that might handle the county issue, but they want $1,000/month so I am clearly not their target audience. I have no
