Lightroom Classic

I have an external 20T hard drive attached to my PC.  On that drive are top level folders by YEAR eg. "2015." Included in the list of top level folder are many subfolders, some that read "2015-02-19" for example and others that read "2015-02-19 Tulip Gardens"   Lightroom is only showing me the subfolders that have just the YEAR-MM-DD as a subfolder name.   I'm trying to import everything in my top level folder "2015" but all I get as a result of my imports are the subfolders designated with YEAR only. None of the other subfolders show up.  WHY?  Thanx!

Lr Classic crashes constantly.  When start the program it works relatively well. After a few minutes of use, it begins to delay the response to any action related to importing, selecting, updating metadata, moving photos between folders or deleting photos.  After numerous tests I have verified that by lowering the resolution of my DELL P2416D monitor (native resolution 2560 x 1440) to the value 1920 x 1080, the tasks begin to run smoothly. It doesn't seem reasonable to me to pay for a program with so many bugs.   Is there any solution?

first I'm on an M1 Macbook pro 64bg ram, OS 13.0.1 Ventura,   I havne't used lightroom in a while (since I had an older computer) but installed them both and the "regular" one works ok, I just don't know it very well. But Classic just always gives me a prompt that permissions aren't set right and it can't operate without that. Yes I did already give permissions to both in the settings and then I even went into library and gave permissions to a ton of files there (user>application support>Adobe>lightroom,  something like those as all the tutorials and 'fixes' say to do, I went and gave permissionss to SO many of those, and still doesn't work. It literally tells me where it doesn't have permissions in the lightroom prompt when I open it and I can go to that folder and see that it has read/write permission so it's basically wrong/lying about it. anyone have any idea what this could mean? I really l wanted to use lightroom again and not do 10 tutorials before I edit

I am totally new to Lr Classic.  Is it best to create Folders on the computer Hard Drive and Import the Folders into Lr Classic, or best to create Folders on Lr Classic and import seperate Images to the Folders ?

After developing images with red in lightroom, I put the image to photoshop to edit minor things, and then after exporting the Optimized JPEG file to my phone for use in social media, and my phone shows them as an Orange colour. Hi, I imported a LCP file I got from the lens manufacturer (7Artisans)  in my LrC via File->Impprt Develop Profiles and Preset menu. However, the profile doesn't appear in the lens correction section. It doesn't appear in the lens profile folder below - C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles Hiowever it is present in the imported files under C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0\Imported Can someone please help \ guide me, what the issue might be? PS : I'm trying to enable profile correction on an imported \ converted DNG file. Kind Regards,Bikram

Hi . Please help. After a few years of using Lightroom Classic to edit my photos, since last week I'm not able to import photos from my SSD into LRC. It's not just my SSD - the import button results in the white spinning wheel at the bottom left panel, and it fails to preview files or select them for import no matter what HDD i select. Lightroom Photoshop can access and import from the same SSD. I have tried the reset as suggested by some users with no success.My versionsMac OS Sonoma 14.16.1 on a Macbook Pro with an M1 ChipAdobe LRC 13.5

No modo Biblioteca, aparece como sempre apareceu, da mesma forma quando abro uma edição no Photoshop, porém no modo Revelação, parece que a foto ganhou uma nitidez em excesso, fica muito diferente. É como se no modo Revelação, ela tivesse ganhado uma edição nos níveis de nitidez. Me ajudem por favor! Desde já agradeço.

Hello, I have a brand new Mac Studio, fully updated along with fulling updated apps. (screenshots attached)Every time I try to edit photos, I get some variation of these glitches. Video here. Greetings Everyone!   I am currently using Lightroom Classic version 13.5 on a Windows CPU.   The issue that I having is that when I go to IMPORT Files into Lightroom Classic a couple of "Actions/Sub-Menus" seems to missing.   Missing "IMPORT TO" Sub-Menus/Actions: 1. *FILE RENAMING* 2. *DESTINATION*   *IMAGE ATTACHED*   Are these two options relocated or was this feature omited during the newer firmware updates?   If it is an issue, how do I resolve it?     Much appreciated!

I'm using LR Classic 13.5, but this has happened in the previous version as well.After uploading an image i'm viewing it in the preview (with or w/o preview builder, behaviour is the same) when i go to the image to edit it i notice that it's WB has changed by itself. There is no step in the history for it, but using the "before/after comparison" it is clearly visible that some WB change was done. Pressing the "Reset" button doesnt help. and this leaves me with images that i now need to correct even if the WB was spot on. I have tried removing the GPI and adding it, it didnt help. I am using a rather large catalogue but i am moving my previously edited files to an external HDD after editing is done.No preset has been applied on upload of the images. I am using Macbook Pro with latest version. Please advise and/or correct.Supporting images attached.

Since I got my new Mac Book Air last year, I cannot view my Collections in LrC saved to my portable hard drive. I can create NEW collections, but I cannot view the ones already created. My old computer was a Mac Book Pro. Could that be the problem? I keep LrC up to date. Thank you!!

I'm at my wits ends here. The problem started this January, when I upgrades to Sonoma, I believe. Upon upgrading to LR13, my main catalog became corrupted and no attempts to repair it have been successful.   So for the last 7 months, I reverted back to LR12, and worked off a backup.   However, I recently got a new laptop (M2 chip MacBook Pro), and decided to try LR13 on there. Lo and behold, it converted my LR12 catalog to version 13 without a hitch.   When I tried this same catalog on my desktop, however, it became corrupted again, and now even my laptop won't open it.   I've talked with at least four agents, two of whom have remotely controlled my computer, and they've tried repairing it and sent it back, for it only to become corrupted again within about 30 minutes of use (importing new photos).   Please help! 

My Lightroom Classic catalog won't open. lrcat-shm and lrcat-wal files appear and disappear continuously with the loading screen stuck. I've tried deleting the lrcat.lock file and reset my preferences as those were some suggestions I saw but neither works. The lrcat.lock file just reappers along with shm and wal before those two disappear.   I'm using LrC 13.5 and MacOS 13.6.9   Thanks!   [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules. Trying to tether a D810 to a Mac / Lightroom, but LR simply refuses to detect the camera. Nikon firmware and Lightroom Classic both up to date, the Mac is running Monterey 12.6.2. Tethering works just as it should with my D850, but I like to use the D810 for copy work. I'm also using a new TetherPro USB-C cable. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of setup? Thanks,Alex

Hi there,I'm having trouble exporting my HDR photos. I'm on Windows 11. I have two monitors, one SDR monitor, and an HDR-600 certified monitor, 10bit output from my RTX3070ti. I have HDR in windows enabled with the SDR brightness limittted to 50%. Monitor brightness itself is of course at 100%. Editing the photos is great, really makes em pop, and also makes me wish I had an HDR-1400 monitor 😛 However, the greatness unfortunately stops when I try to export the darn things.JXL is unable to be opened on any program I could find, except for Irfanview, but it seems to just discard the HDRness, and convert it to a washed out 8bit mess.JPG+gain opens like a normal jpg everywhere, not using the gain map. It's just the 'preview for SDR' image. Exception is Chrome, though it still doesn't come out looking like what I saw in the editor.AVIF doesn't have thumbnails, can't be opened by anything except Chrome, where it again looks different to what I did in Lightroom itself.T

I'm trying to import my preset to Lightroom Classic and this message keeps popping up."Unable to import presets""A file could not be created."

Začal som používať Pentax K3 mark III v spojení s objektívom HD Pentax D FA 100 mm Macro F2,8 ED AW. Vo Photoshope ale ani v Adobe Lightroom Clasic ho nesprávne detekuje. Namiesto tohto novšieho objektívu detekuje jeho predchádzajúcu verziu WR. V spojení s Pentax K1 je všetko OK. Vie mi niekto povedať, prečo ? Myslel som si, že Adobe Photoshop je svetová jednička, ale teraz som si nie istý, či to je tak naozaj. 

I am sure that this is a common problem but have been unable to find any answers when searching the forum. I have just migrated my files and catalog from one iMAC to another and on my new iMAC have two references to each image. Screenshot shows this in detail better than I can describe. I am the user: "Alan" and "alan" , (there is only one account) and as said, the image files are not duplicated, just the catalog entry. If I delete one of the duplicates, all the photographs disappear from the other.

I am able to create Virtual Copies of photos (all in same folder).  The stack icon appears in the upper left of the thumbnail, and when I click it - it either says 1 of 2 or 2.  However I cannot unstack those photos.  Have tried multiple times on multiple photos.  Have tried multiple approaches (shortcut of "S", going to stacking menu and selecting expand all stacks) but none of them result in placing the two copies next to each other in the film strip.  The top photo remains unchanged showing 2 or 1of2I have used VCs and unstacked them in the past (maybe 2 months back), but now I am stuck.  (there are help messages on unstacking going back over 7 years - but none have this problem and usually mention the stacking menu).Any wisdom or experience with this will be greatly appreciated!(Just updated CC and see that there are two versions of LR - desk and cloud - - gotta wrap my mind around that)

Hallo Zusammen, ich arbeite seit neuestem mit LRc und habe eine simple Frage.In der Bibliothek wird in der Dateivorschau zum jeweiligen Bild auch auf dem Bild ein Icon angezeigt "Eingebettete Vorschau".Welches Farbprofil, oder Adobe Einstellung liegt diese Anzeige zu Grunde?Natürlich ändert sich die Anzeige des Bildes, wenn ich in den Bereich Entwicklung wechsle. Standardmäßig ist Adobe hinterlegt, habe aber nun Leica SL3 als zu verwendendes Profil hinterlegt. Dennoch ist die Anzeige der Vorschau unverändert.  Im Bereich Entwicklung konnte ich auch keinen Unterschied zwischen Adobe Farbe (standardmäßig hinterlegt) und meiner persönlichen Einstellung, Kamera Leica SL3 erkennen.Wenn ich dann auf das Icon klicke, passt LRc das Bild an (vermutlich auf das hinterlegte Profil, Adobe, oder Kamera - in meinem Fall Leica SL3)Was habe ich übersehen, oder ist das DNG File von Leica das Problem?
