When using the "Select Sky" feature, Lightroom starts the "Detecting Sky" process and creates a "New Mask..." entry in the Masking panel. However, after 2–3 seconds, the mask entry disappears entirely, the sky is not selected, and the "Select Sky" button is sometimes greyed out or non-responsive. The only consistent fix is a full restart of the application.Steps to Reproduce: Open a catalog and enter the Develop Module. Open the Masking Panel (Shift+W). Click "Select Sky." Observe the "New Mask..." entry appearing and then vanishing without generating a selection. no error message Expected Result: The AI should complete the detection and create a persistent mask layer with the sky selected.Actual Result: The mask entry is deleted automatically by the system and the tool becomes unavailable.System Info: Application: Lightroom Classic 15.3 OS: Windows 11 Workaround Found: Restarting Lightroom temporarily resolves the issue, but it recurs after several minutes of use.
Mac OS Tahoe 26.1.3(a), Lightroom Classic 15.3….I have one photo in particular that shows a virtual copy and the original is shown in Finder (via Lightroom menu) but still Library view doesn’t show original no matter what I try...as follows:Restarting Mac, Lightroom, unstacking options, setting all filters to None, synchronising folder and parent folders, Reset in Develop module, copy, relocate and rename file and reimport (already shows as imported even though it’s a different name), search web and Adobe Lightroom forum.I now believe it’s a bug, but maybe not wording my issue clearly and not a real tech expert so I admit I’m at a loss - any useful suggestions pointers etc. much appreciated!
Offer color options for the crop and grid frame. The default frame is difficult to see on light colored images. Even a limited choice of simply white, black or red would be a vast improvement.
Hello, I’m using Adobe Lightroom Classic 15.3 (202604090927-8f3672ed) and i can’t import keywords from CSV file. Context : I have a main catalog, made an export of photos on a another catalog to work in vacations and made an export of my keywords (cvs file). When i import thekeywords list on the new catalog, LR refuse and tell me “Error, the file cannot be imported, because it contains corrupted data.”. I have reduced the CSV file to the smallest part possible to be sure it wasn’t having non ASCII caracters and with a very simple file like this one… it still refuse to import. Example : File LR.CSVInclude On Export,Export Containing Keywords,Export Synonyms,Person Type Keyword,N,N,N,N,Top - OK"Y,Y,Y,N, Test LR""Y,Y,Y,N, Test LR2" It’s seem to be a bug of a function not working that i can reproduce easily. Matt
I don’t see a way to create catalogs in lightroom. I’m using version 9.3. I’m told it’s in File/New. It’s simply not there! Has Adobe taken this out completely? I’m able to create albums and folders, and import into them. but I don’t see any reference to the word ‘catalog’ anywhere.
I’ve had to roll back to the previous version as the masking feature no longer detects anything. Very frustrating. Everything else about the update is nice though.
ConceptWhen editing, it’s easy to unintentionally push sliders into ranges that degrade image quality (e.g., overuse of clarity, dehaze, or contrast). I propose a user-configurable system where each slider includes two thresholds (warning and limit zones). As sliders approach these zones, visual feedback (color change) and optional resistance could guide users toward more natural results without removing creative control.Helps beginners avoid over-editing Reinforces good editing habits Improves consistency Still allows full manual override User presets for thresholds Toggle on/off Works with masks and global sliders
LRC 15.3Windows 11 Step to reproduceConfigure auto import. Don’t rename and don’t apply any preset. Keep is simple Auto import settings Copy a photo in the auto import folder. The photo is imported automaticly Launch a normal import with the "don’t import suspected duplicates" box checked Point to the initial folder were the photo was (not the auto-import one) The photo that is already in the catalog is not greyed. You can reimport it and create a duplicate even if you ask to avoid duplicates. Kind regards
I’ve got a bit of a weird problem where a subset of ~1.2k photos cannot have their metadata saved. All of them have this badge on their photo in the strip, and when I try to save, I get this error. Initially, I thought my RAW files might have been corrupted, and something was wrong with the file itself, but I tried opening the raws in two separate programs (XNview MP / DarkTable) and the image opened perfectly in those. That led me to trying out some other things including the ‘Import Setting from Disk’ option that pops up which you click on the ‘metadata error’ icon circled in red above When Lightroom tried to read these files, it just froze on the ‘Reading XMP Metadata’ step with it never getting any further. This is only a subset of seemingly random photos in my library across the entire history of photos Ive taken 2016-2026. File permissions and all things which could be getting between Lightroom → XMP File are all correct, so that leads me to believe the issue is either with light
Preamble: In case this case is a duplicate, please merge. Clostest I did find was this one. But it has issues with the filters themselves whereas I have issues with the display mode and file metadata. Hi and welcome back to yet another episode of me running my head against a wall with Lightroom Classic issues. The ‘select objects’ is a great tool, but when I do multiple maskings, with every new object mask, I have to click the ‘+’ key and click ‘select object’ . Is there a way to option-click a certain button, so I don’t have to go to the toolbar and click those 2 keys for every new object mask? It would save me a lot of time..
Hi all, I’ve been casually using Lightroom on my iPad/phone for 18 months or so now and am starting to use LRC, I’ve just come back from a trip and want to import/organise all of my pictures in my cloud storage, and then remove them from my PC to save space.Everything I imported previously from my iPad is stored in albums, which are organised in to folders. When I open LRC on my PC, I can’t see any of the folders I created on my iPad in the folder section - which I understand is because “Folders” represents where they are on my PC, not where they are in the cloud? So if I organised my pictures using the “Folders” feature, then deleted the files from my PC I assume I’d lose the organisation?I also see the “Collections” section, which is where all of my previously created albums are located but rather than being organised within folders they’re all in one long list organised under the “From Lightroom” heading. I mainly wanted to use LRC as an import tool, as it’s easier to connect my cam
The Object select is a great addition to the masking tool. However, it is very frustrating not to be able to select multiple objects in order to apply the same fixes using the masking tool. I have a tricky photo in which I have had to tediously select each object, at least 20 of them, individually. It would be helpful to be able to Cmd-select for multiple objects.
Sometimes sveral masks in a photo need the same edit. It will be effective if I can edit more than one mask in the same photo in a Autosync or Sync workflow.
As a user who trusts the Adobe RAW Engine, I strongly object to Lightroom being marketed as a "Retouching tool."Development is not Retouching: "Development" is about extracting truth from light, while "Retouching" is about adding fiction. Adobe has the world's best RAW engine; do not diminish its value with a cheap label. Focus on Quality over Gimmicks: Features like the "Remove" panel are currently not at a professional level. Instead of promoting these "useless" AI features, Adobe should focus on perfecting the pure RAW development process. Please bring back the pride of being the world's best "RAW Development Software." We want a digital darkroom, not a casual editing app
Since the update my lightroom has been incredibly slow. I really am unable to even work within it.
I have been able to see those options, up by the Histogram before.
I have more than a hundred folders on a drive and need to move some of them to a different drive. I’m working on a 27” iMac. I can’t drag the folder to the other drive because the screen doesn’t scroll down to where the other drive is (visually). If I could right click on the folder I want to move it would be more convenient. But this doesn’t seem possible. Any solution to the dragging approach?
I’m noticing that the left hand panel in Lightroom Classic scrolls really sluggishly and jerks / jumps around. I’m running MacOS 26.4 and it has been like this for quite some time (not just on 26).It’s really hard to scroll precisely, you have to sort of wait for it to catch up. Rather annoying.
After upgrading to v15.2, the Library Filters cannot be enabled. Clicking the Library menu ‘Enable Filters’ will just give Library Filters Off each time is it clicked. The check mark remains on the Enable Filters menu. Using the hotkey Ctrl-L does not work either, just keep saying Library Filters Off. No way to enable the Library Filters. I have also restarted my Windows 11, and still cannot enable Library Filters.
I use lrc 15.2 on macbook pro [new m5pro with 48g ram]I found that the disk was written in a huge amount, reaching 10GB in about 10 minutes. The corresponding process is launcher. Then I used the sudo fs_usage - w - f file sys command to finally locate the file/private/var/folders/g8/47gdc5wn4yx370flbr2cms5m0000gn/T/cr_ sdk_00258352. tmp to write, which may be cr_stk_00xxxxx. tmp. These files have been continuously written but not read. My temporary solution is to create a ramdisk and mount it to/private/var/folders/g8/47gdc5wn4yx370flbr2cms5m0000gn/T to slow down hard disk consumption.
When I import photos from my Nikon D-750 and Z8, I choose the "Make a second copy to..." option to a directory on my Windows Home Server, where they are backed up into the cloud by a backup service and are also monitored by Amazon Photos for backups. I have hundreds of backup folders and they all have names like this: These names are utterly useless for finding an import backup that contains a specific date and the date created/modified is not helpful. Please allow me to specify a name for the folder, using a pattern. I'd prefer a name like YYYY-MM-DD Lightroom Import so I can find the folder containing photos taken on a specific day. I'm using Lightroom Classic 13.0.1 on Windows 11, with the backups over SMB to a Windows Server 2016 Essentials host.
The “Make a Second Copy To” function in the import dialogue box, creates a folder to hold a 2nd copy of imports during the current session. In my view, a powerful safety feature that seems to get little recognition. Anyway, the feature request is in relation to the naming of these folders. The naming doesn’t lend itself to sorting making it difficult to find images. For example LrC, will typically label a 2nd Copy folder as, “Imported on Monday, 9 March 2026”.This will sort firstly alphabetically by the day name, then numerically by day date, then alphabetically by month and lastly numerically by year. This could be easily fixed by changing the folder naming to, “Imported on YYYY-MM-DD”.
To find AI Edit Status which setting can I use to create a smart collection?
I need to adjust all images in a collection to -24 tint while keeping the temp the same. Is there any way to do this?
