I notice a strange difference between the actual filename of a picture (as I can see it in the Windows explorer) and the name that Lightroom Classic shows me. A picture named (for example) "filename_025.jpg" (as shown in Windows) turns into "filename_025-2.jpg" in Lightroom. When I try to edit this filename on the right side in the metadata area by removing the "-2" there, the name instantly turns into "filename_025-3.jpg".And when I try to solve the issue by synchronizing the folder (right click on the folder in the directory structure on the left side) Lightroom crashes completely and reproducibly.Has anyone an idea what I can do to solve this issue (which only appears in one specific folder of my file and directory structure)?
I have just had issues with my catalogue and spent 13 hours yesterday with the Adobe Help Desk - their answer was that there is nothing they could do and I would have to go back through my many thousand images and check if the recreated edits work! How do I speak to someone who understands photography (i.e. someone who understands that the finer details of an edit matter when an imge is entered into competitions) to register a complaint and give feedback

Hi, I am working on an historical photographic archive project and need to be able to copy all the adjustment settings from one folder of images and then apply it to a separate copy of that same folder in a different location. I know how to do this one image at a time (copy settings from an image and then apply them to a copy of that image in a different location). But I need to be able to do it globally for an entire folder, if possible. My project involves starting with an original set of folders, then copying some of those folders to a new location, removing some images, and renaming the new versions of the folders. Eventually I need to process all of the images in the new folders (about 3,000) and export them for delivery to a library. However, some of the images in the original folders have already been processed. I would like to be able to somehow copy the processing settings for an entire folder of images and then apply them to a new version of that folder. Copying and
DNG file in LRc shows no clipping. Exported processed DNG to 16 bit TIF for further editing in Photoshop shows the luminosity layer clipping (RGB layers OK). This has happened more than once now. It seems the conversion process is doing odd things with highlights. RAW file is 14 bit, TIF is 16 bit, so the latter *should* have more headroom. Note: I am far more inclined to believe RawDigger than anything Adobe develops in terms of exposure accuracy. RAW rendering in Adobe products, like other RAW editing software, is *not* accurate. It is a great source of frustration. Here are some screenshots to show the issue.RAW in LRc:raw.jpgedited DNG file in LRc:RawDigger (RAW):RawDigger (DNG) - this shows 300 odd pixels clipped in the G channel. Note that Photoshop doesn't show any clipping in the G channel. Again, no clipping shown in LRc for the edited DNG file. rawdigger_16 bit TIF file in Photoshop:Any ideas?Laptop screen is calibrated, although the screen is of poor quality with
Hi - I'm trying to help someone set up a LRC catalog but am working with them remotely. Once created, the catalog will live on their hard drive (or somewhere locally), but I'm trying to work with them to get it set up. For collaboration purposes, they have set up a SharePoint site for us to begin storing the images and start creating the catalog. I set up a test folder at the SharePoint set with a few images and am finding that I cannot import those images into a test catalog I created in LRC. From what I've seen, LRC can only import locally stored images. But I'd like to clarify that before looking for a solution outside of LRC.Any suggestions???Thank you!

With recent update of Lightroom release 15.1 and camera raw 18.1 on Windows 11, the software cannot detect people in some photos for masking even though they are very obvious in the photos (see the example attached). I haven't seen such an issue before recent update. Can anybody provide some insights about it? What could be wrong and how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance. Recently upgraded to 15.1 and started getting the dreaded "unknown error has occurred" on individual photos along with the exclaimation point in the black circle on the thumbnails. Full disclosure: these are Nikon NEF files.I narrowed it down to files that had an associateed .xmp file, but that file was deleted. (I use Photomechanic to rate/cull and then import, so I delete the xmp's after import.)I could not use the Metadata > Save option on these files as it would throw an "unknown i/o" error, I assume because it was looking for the deleted xmp. Reverted back to 15.0.1 and the errors all went away.
I have a Syncing problem with my Lightroom Classic to Lightroom Web. This is not the first time I have this problem. The files are stuck in the syncing ! There are no Sync Errors to report. In my desperation, I rebuilt the Sync Database, but no success. I then generated the Sync Report, and the system tells me to contact Lightroom Support, but I cannot find any contact information on the Adobe site for Adobe Support. Where do I send the Diagnostic Report to?? I have been a customer for years, and I pay quite a bit of money for Adobe Apps, so I should be able to get a good Support Service. And before I get tons of questions, yes, I run the latest versions of Adobe apps, and I have the latest Windows 11 installed on my I7 processor run PC. Internet connection is working!
When Importing images using the "add" option (files are already on computer HDD), the imported images no longer display automatically upon completion. Im still viewing the previous photos I was working on rather than seeing the new imported photos . I thought there was a check box some where that toggled this behavior on and off, but cant seem to find it, has this been changed? I have built all my LR catalogue from photos on my external hard drive labelled P. I have sub-folders in P for the years. I have imported numerous times from P:\subfolder without any problems and it has just picked up new photos in that subfolder.I went to do the same today and it found lots of additional files to import. On investigation, despite me clicking only the P:\subfolder I wanted, it was identifying numerous files on the C drive and trying to import those as well even though C drive was not selected. I have tried various ways of stopping this, all to no avail. Any ideas?
I wanted to open another catalogue (.lrcat) and Lightroom, instead of launching it, opens it as a folder and there is no file inside that would be supported. However, when I click on this .lrcat from the file explorer, it also opens as a typical Windows catalogue, and you can see some files inside.
I have sighed in to a course I am required to use light room classic my Mac is 2017 it won't let me download any suggestions?
Would prefer to save edits to the original file instead of having to export the changes to a new file. Is this possible?
LrC used to able to import photos even some data disk are unmounted, however recently when one of my disks unmounted, the Import function not respoding. I have 3 USB data disk, recent photos store to external SSD, older photos store to other 2 external HDDs.Sometimes if I don't need to work with old photos, I keeps the external HDDs offline, the LrC still keep full function if I don't access the HDDs photos in LrC. Recently, I found that, if one of my HDDs offline, the Import function will not resonding. Nothing happen when do import with menu or press CMD-Shift-I. , the "File" menu, just flash to blue color when I press the CMD-Shift-I, and didn't pop-up import UI. I have to online all disks in order to make the import works, while I just want to import new photos to SSD only. I tested all LR catalogue has the same issue, this should not related to the catalogue, should be sth wrong with the global LrC setting.Tried reboot computer, not help.I don't sure how
Recently Lightroom seems to stall or deadlock when moving folders between my Laptop's SSD and NAS (over SMB). Here's a screenshot of network activity. On the left, Lightroom is moving a large folder at a rate of 1 image per minute. It copies the file quickly, then stalls - apparently no activity. On the right, I gave up and just moved the folder using macOS Finder - it maxed out the NAS's write speed over 10Gbe ethernet. I've tried restarting Lightroom, and I've paused all background tasks (Cloud sync, Assisted Culling, Address Lookup, Face Detection, Saving XMP metadata). Lightroom Classic 15.1, macOS Tahoe 26.3, M4 Max, 10Gbe ethernet, Synology DSM 7.3.2. The catalog has about 280k images in total, about 60k synced to Cloud.$> smbutil statshares -a | grep SMB_VERSION SMB_VERSION SMB_3.1.1
I have recently installed LRC on a new computer (Win 11), following the rather minimal Adobe instructions, and now have two laptops using the same version of LRC and the same catalog. My photos are kept on an external hard drive, which both PC's access and use--obviously not at the same time. I have done this a couple of times before without issue, but not this time. The folder/file list in LRC shows the same folders (and subfolders) on both devices--nothing is missing. BUT, the number of photos is not the same. The total is about 2% less on the newer one, though some folders have more files and some fewer (it's not consistently one way or the other). Also, some carat triangles to the left of the folder names are solid (ok) but some are grayed (or pixilated). The grayed ones do not seem to indicate subfolders. This does not appear to affect the behavior of the contents or display of those folders. I haven't tried to edit or send
In version 15.01 and earlier, the mask overlay would disappear when I clicked in a number field for an adjustment to highlight it.I would then use the arrow keys to change the value, and the adjustment would not commit until I pressed Enter. The adjustment increments would be the same each time I pressed an arrow key. In version 15.1 the mask overlay does not disappear when clicking in a number field, but disappears when I start using the arrow keys.Every time I press an arrow key, an entry is added to the History panel, which rapidly fills up with unnecessary entries. The adjustment increments are not equal – if I for instance want to use negative Exposure, I get this sequence: -0.10 -0.21 -0.31 -0.42 -0.52 -0.62 -0.73 -0.84 -0.94I get similar results with other adjustments using Shift + arrow keys. This also happens with positive adjustments, but only after I reach a value of 70. I'm seeing this on two computers running Windo
