Files that I have saved as .AIC are visible when I open illustrator 2022, but when I try to open them via cloud docs in Photoshop 2022, it says there is nothing. Even in the main account hub, I copied a cloud .AIC file into a central folder on my computer and it was not there via Photoshop. I have restarted the program and computer several times, as well as log in and out of my CC account.
Came across this in Photoshop 23.0.0 / Windows 10 - In an 8 bit PSD file the move tool "knows" to ignore selecting adjustment layers, while in the same file at 16 bit it keeps selecting the adjustment layers. This is true to both clipping mask and stand alone adjustment layers. It does not select the Adjustment layers in 16 bit if: no layer mask or when the layer mask attached to it has something drawn on it. Very frustrating when compositing hundreds of layers. Does anyone have a work around? *Maybe this was already in older versions - I worked on 2019 until few days ago and don't remember running into this.
The list of options for layers is rather extensive when you right click on a layer in the layer's panel. But one thing that seems to be missing is one for renaming the layer. Sure you can could click on the title name, but it seems "Rename" would be a common enough task that it could be added to the list of options..
I have recently needed to use the Export option for Layers to Files and found it could really be more helpful with these options added. If you could name the layers with the same options as Batch Rename in Bridge it would be very helpful. And if you could choose what order is used to create the files, top to bottom or bottom top, would be great as well.
The Content Aware Fill Tool is a great advancement, but I find it most useful for when you are trying to remove a single object. When I restore images I jump back and forth between the clone, heal and content aware fill option. It would be really nice if Content Aware Fill could be a stand alone tool or made an option for the Lasso tool, so when you select something CAF just kicks in. I use several keyboard shortcuts but would really think it would be a boost to productivity if could be accessed quicker.
Dodge/Burn is about the only tool that still remains destructive. Yes there are workarounds, but how about integrating the Use All Layers into the Dodge/Burn tool so it can finally be non-destructive.
It seems like there are many ways to create a vignette, but they often are attached to an other adjustment or filter. How about a stand alone Vignette Filter?
The white balance option inside the Camera Raw Filter is very useful for making color corrections. I would find it very useful if that tool could be found outside the Camera Raw filter and were either a stand along adjustment or made an eyedropper addition to Curves/Levels.
Other than how a Smart Filter and Smart Object are accessed, they are in effect the same thing. How about eliminating the two terms and just using one.... Smart Layer.
The crop tool's toolbar likes to steal typing focus. Normally if you're in the crop tool but haven't touched the ratio boxes you can use, say, the X key to flip the ratios. But if you've recently typed in a ratio and haven't hit Esc since then, you're going to get an error for an invalid number. Even if you've clicked back to the image. Basically, when in the crop tool, clicking on the image should take focus back out of the toolbar like it does with most other tools. This would be a nice little QOL tweak.
I'm using Photoshop 2020. If someone can confirm that this is "fixed" in 2021 (or later?) then please do, but the problem is as follows: When using Color Range, and sampling a color to be selected, whatever color you had as your foreground color before using Color Range is changed to the one you select in Color range. It's pretty frustrating as if I just want to paint, I now lost that color I wanted to paint in this area with. Perhaps there's some config option I can change? Is there a point to this feature? Because I think it's easier to simply sample the color afterwards than try to get a color you had before, which is now gone.
The wave filter is extremely hard to use, you get a tiny preview and the results vary greatly depending on whether you are working on a smart document vs large. Actually, it's impossible to acheive the same results on a larger document than you can on a small one due to the filter values being pixel based.
Photoshop, will you please make the symmetry tool work with the pattern preview. Thanks!
I'm suprised that there isn't a Photoshop UI lock device. yes you can save workspace and customise the toolbar, and load them in again. But there is no functionality to stop you accidentally removing a menu. Why is that?
Dear developers, hello! I'm studying to be a designer and I'm going to buy myself a tablet, but I don't want to take apple! Question: When will you make a full version of Photoshop for the android tablet tab S7+???
Witch the color picker open, CMD-SHIFT-Y, grays out the RGB spectrum and only shows the colors available in the CMYK spectrum. This is a brilliant function when working for print. However, it would save a lot of time to also make it visible within the main Color Panel itself and not just the pop up picker. Thank you!
Photoshop crashes about once for every 10 hours of use, so maybe once a week for me. This is normal. It's been this way for over 20 years through many versions on many different computers. It's just an unstable piece of software, especially if your job involves large complex files, and I've long ago come to terms with that. I save my work often and am glad for automatic backups and recovery files. My work is protected, but my list of recently opened files is not. My changes to windows arrangements, tools, and settings are not. All of these things are only saved to the filesystem when Photoshop exits cleanly, which some weeks is a rare occurance. So my suggestion is, save all those various user settings, recently open file lists and so on either right when they are changed, or on a regular timer like automatic backups, rather than waiting until the program exits. If the files can't be edited at runtime or this might introduce further instability, create temporary backups
Photoshop already has a PDF importing tool, however, when importing it there's no way of selecting pages beyond clicking on the thumbnails. It would be nice to have the option of "All Pages" "Range" etc, similar to when exporting to PDF. If the page numbers corresponded to those on the document, that would make it even better.
It would be great to have the Patch tool in the new Photoshop for IPads!
The slider buttons for iPad should all have a double tap button to reset instead of having to redo every time. It wastes so much time and ruins experimenting with colors. I know this feature is already on desktop but I only use iPad for photo editing so this would help a lot.
Hi everyone, this is my first post here.I was wondering if the photoshop team ever allows us, digital artists, to make re just on multiple layers without merging everything since I work mainly with line art and this will save me tons of time.Is there a problem with implementing this feature since I saw many artist friends of mine already have had this problem for a long time with Photoshop? I see many other art programs that can do this ease like CSP, Krita or even the newcomer Procreate. I hope I would at least get some response about this so I can see if I have to switch to another cheaper art program.thank you for your time
It may be a great idea to add some kind of procces recording (sorry for the comparation) like Procreate does.
When using the lasoo tool (any of them) it would be very helpful to be able to adjust the lines created by that tool. When I select this tool to perform a fill in a lasooed area and, after completing the lasoo, notice an area that should have been included but was missed, there's no way to make a small adjustment. The entire lasoo needs to be redone. The ability to fine tune lasoos by making adjustments to the existing lasoo lines would solve this issue. A feature might be something like touching the mouse pointer on the lasoo line, holding the button down and reshaping the line to the desired position.
Hi everyone ...I'd like to report a 'bug' or ask for a feature request please ...v23 Adobe Photoshop / Lightroom & Bridge etc currently do not support Mojave 10.14. Atm, v23 requires Catalina or later to run. Like many users, I have pimped up my old 2009 v4,1 & v5,1 Mac Pros. It now has super fast Metal support graphics card, fast processors etc but only runs Mojave. In comparison, my old 2013 Macbook Pro laptop is much lower power, but can work with Photoshop v23 as it supports up to Big Sur. So it's not a hardware power problem.I don't think Mojave would restrict v23 Photoshop if Adobe could add support. How do we ask for feature request? Thanks ...
