I would love the ability to record the "Collapse groups" shortcut John Nack mentioned here: http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2011/06/... in my actions. In my actions I often create lots and lots of folders that I'll need afterwards (workflow actions), which then stay open all the time so I have to collapse them manually. Therefore it'd be great to be able to record the collapse command to save time and improve the overview over my layers/groups.
Basically a layer comp rasterizing anckor , we could use as a layer fill or a mask . I know much of this could be done by clipping groups but from UI point of view I often couldn't figure out a thing what clips what and with what blending options just a week after in my own photoshop docs . What layercomp inside this or that smart object is used for "blend if" sliders inside a group , which inside another group like a russian doll to clip some layer on top of all of this just to keep my document non destructive.. It quickly turns into indecipherable mess. Would just having a mask linked to certain layercomp name be so much simpler? I am trying to perswade chat GPT to make me a script doing this on demand , still not working although,&
I make very small pixel art images in Photoshop. In the Image Size popup the image preview can be zoomed in to 800%, while the regular view of an image can be zoomed in to 12800%. It would be nice if the zoom limit was increased. Even 3200% would be great, if not all the way to 12800%.
There should be a 3D Style in Photoshop’s Layer Style Options that includes features like light source, motion blur, and other 3D effects. This would allow us to apply realistic effects to text and still be able to change the text later without losing the 3D effect settings. Right now, when we apply an effect to text, we have to record or recreate it every time, and if we edit the text, the entire effect needs to be built again. If Photoshop added a 3D Style inside the Layer Style Options, it would be a major improvement.
I just noticed after updating that in the latest version of Photoshop (Windows 11) in the "Recent" view before I open any documents suddenly the file extension is missing from the file name under the image thumbnails. That change is - in my humble opinion - incedibly bad UX and I have really no idea how any developer could possible come up with nonsense like this? Yes, you can switch to the list view, there you can see the file extension, but I do not use the list view. I regularily have multiple versions of files with different file extensions in this view i want to open and now I have to guess which is which? Seriously? Do the devs actually use Photoshop? I consider this a bug because it worsens user experience a lot.
This effect is very good, I'd love to see it introduced into Photoshop so I can use it commercially!
The ProblemWhen using Camera Raw as a filter on individual layers within a composition, the adjustment window operates in isolation. Unlike other Photoshop adjustments that show real-time changes in the main canvas, Camera Raw only displays the preview within its own dialog window. The effects only become visible in the actual composition after clicking "OK" – making it impossible to evaluate color grading decisions in context with other layers. The Use CaseCamera Raw has evolved into one of the most powerful and intuitive color grading tools available, with a workflow that mirrors professional applications like DaVinci Resolve and After Effects. Many of us naturally gravitate toward it for layer-level color correction because of its comprehensive controls and familiar interface. However, when working on complex compositions with multiple layers, context is everything. A color adjustment that looks perfect in isolation might clash with other elements, create unwanted contrast issues, or
I like to create ovals, put in a black and white gradient and then add a layer with a photo which I then put in the oval. This needs a radial gradient within an oval on the ipad photoshop.Could you add this please?
Please restore of per-frame disposal (restore-to-background) option in Photoshop GIF export Adobe Photoshop Product Team:I write as a long-time user and (sometimes frustrated) creative professional. I want to express how deeply disappointed I am in the removal (or concealment) of the per-frame disposal / “restore to background” option from Photoshop’s GIF export logic. That feature was previously a one-click fix that prevented ghost trails and residual outlines when animating changing shapes. Because the disposal option is no longer exposed, users doing change-over-time visualizations are forced into extremely cumbersome workarounds—masking, external converters, scripting, or losing transparency altogether. This is not acceptable for professional-level workflows. Here’s why restoring that control is critical: Precision workflows require clean frame swaps. When a feature expands or contracts across frames, you must prevent lingering artifacts from prior frames. Witho
The Curve Adjustment properties dialog can be scaled somewhat, but it is still tiny on larger screens running a higher resolution. In Gimp, PhotoLine, and other image editors the curves graph can be scaled up to the actual screen size, if needed. Please make the curves graph more responsive in regards to dialog scaling. The graph is so small, making it harder than it needs to be to work with, and very difficult for precise adjustments.
I frequently need to show/hide layers based on the Layer Filter. Today this workflow cannot be automated:Actions do not record the Layer Filter state (Color/Kind/Name).Scripting (DOM/Action Manager) does not provide a reliable way to read a layer’s label color or to set/read the Layer Filter programmatically.Tried stringIDToTypeID('color'), charIDToTypeID('Clr '), and variants like layerSheetColor / sheetColor; many builds return nothing, so a script can’t detect that a layer is “Green”.This would drastically speed large design/retouch pipelines (hundreds of layers). Typical need:Thank you!
Currently, the swatch panel will not reduce to only show the small strip of recent colors. I prefer to remove the swatch libraries because they add no value to my work, but that leaves a large intrusive blank space. I would like to see see the ability of the swatch panel to be collapsed to only show the small strip of recently used colors.
When working with multiple layers, it would be great if Photoshop could use AI to automatically recognize the content of each layer and rename them accordingly (for example: ‘Tree’, ‘Sky’, ‘Logo’, ‘Person’, ‘Text’, etc.).Why I need this feature:When working with complex compositions, especially those involving dozens or hundreds of layers (like composites, mockups, or UI designs), it can be extremely time-consuming to manually rename each layer for organization. Many users rely on descriptive layer names to stay efficient, but auto-generated names like ‘Layer 1 Copy 3’ make projects difficult to navigate.Having AI intelligently recognize what is on a layer, whether it is an object, a shape, a piece of text, or an imported image, and rename it accordingly would drastically improve workflow clarity, speed, and collaboration. This feature would also help teams stay consistent when sharing PSD files, reducing confusion and setup time when opening files created by others.
This might not be a unique idea. I would request if the input field in the save dialog box can be longer. I have long file names and sometime have to stick to the naming patterns which are unique. It is a cumbersome process to keep moving the cursor through the entire length of the file name to make changes in the longer file name.
As a real estate photographer and editor I edit and review thousands of photos a month. Something that would be a huge time saver would be the ability to type in a text box the description of something like "Windows" and then A.I. will search the image and automatically mask out everything matching that description. Masking windows indoors and outdoors for twilight imagery is something I spend alot of time on. But taking it a step further and being able to type "Cats" or "TV Screens" would also be a great help.
With Adobe's AI becoming so powerful, I'm sure some of that power can be used within other areas of Photoshop. Generative fill is capable of generating super realistic imagery, with angles, lighting & shadows that are well-considered within a few seconds. Why not add a new AI Shadow tool that creates super realistic drop shadows? The adjustments can be very simple, only the length of the shadow can be controlled. This should read all layers, so things like colour bleed can also be taken into account. This would be a game changer and I think Adobe has the technology to roll this out quite quickly.Just an idea. 🙂ThanksJacques
Subtituir cielo está fantástico, pero si necesitas el reflejo en agua, no existe la posibilidad.
Is colourLookup option is available in photoshop on ipad
Make the red eye removal tool able to be done in an empty layer.
A cool and useful feature would be one that gets rid of the green glare on people's glasses easily.
I often need to switch between multiple guide layouts in the same PSD document and the current [View > Guines > New Guides...] doesn't allow doing that.Important functionality is misisng. Please add guides as layers, so then all sorts of setups will become easily doable. You can add this functionality without removing the previous one if you're worried about breaking changes. For example, my original assets are 256 px but I need to scale them to 240 px grid to work on them and for export I need 160 px grid, so I have a need to switch between 3 grids all the time.I tried Artboards in Photoshop 26.10 (late 2025) but they were completely buggy and unusable (quickly increase RAM to 64 GB and crash Photoshop). So, the entire workflow is much worse than in Illustrator currently.
Hi, Something that really frustrated me today when using Firefly in Photoshop is that I was changing a shirt style to get various looks but Firefly kept feminizing my shoulders ALLOT. I had to use the deformation tool to keep correcting things but it got to a point where I gave up and just kept on of the examples. I'm a man, not a woman. I don't want my shoulders made more narrow or drooping down as Firefly kept doing. See the TShirt, that's me, the collared shirt and tie was the one I had Firefly do for me. This had to be fixed using the deformation tool to get my shoulders up where they needed to be. I don't have an example of the image before I fixed it. Can you please train Firefly to respect body shapes? I know it can be done. Just thought I'd bring this to your attention. Thank you
It would be great to have a SOUND NOTIFICATION when AI is done generating fills.usually it takes a minute or so to finish and instead of staring at it, users tend to do something else while waiting.most of the times, they wouldnt know that it's done already. making them waste more time.
First, I want to say that the recent addition of Nano Banana is fantastic, it's exciting to see how Photoshop keeps evolving. From here, the only way is forward.I’d like to suggest something that could make Photoshop even more powerful and intuitive: enabling voice commands. Similar to how modern language models allow natural voice interaction, Photoshop could integrate a small microphone icon within the interface, giving users the option to speak commands instead of typing or navigating menus. This could open up a new level of accessibility and workflow efficiency, especially for creative professionals who often have their hands full while working.
