Photoshop Elements

Adobe Creative Cloud has gone through the motions of downloading and installing the Camera Raw 13.4 update, but the Photo Editor continues to use version 13.0. I've restarted the computer, but the Photo Editor is still using version 13.0. Where is the update?

Can anyone tell me how to stop the crop tool thinking it knows better than me. It never gets it right. It constantly changes the aspect ratio without me asking it to. I just want it to do what I tell it.

Just purchased PSE 2021 and Photo Editor will not open.

I'm doing extracting a lot. Meaning cutting people out of picture and placing to new background. Especially hair is complicated to extract and needs special tools. Pen tool, Quick selection, Refine edges, Polygonal lasso and what else... Does Elements have all these? I don't want to pay monthly for subscription of Full PS version. Elements would do just fine as long as I get all the necessary tools.

Hello, for an eyetracking experiment, I would like to determine the luminance value/brightness of different digital pictures and equalize these values. Does this function exist in Photoshop Elements and if yes, how does it work? Is it also possible to determine the luminance value/brightness of a video?Thank you very much in advance,Katharina

Hallo, ich besitze seit wenigen Wochen die Pentax K-3 Mark III, aber ich kann die mit der neuen Kamera aufgenommenen PEF-Dateien (RAW) nicht in Adobe Photoshop Elements 2019 öffnen. Ich finde auch kein Update übers Menü. In Version 2020 habe ich es noch nicht probiert, aber ich vermute dasselbe Problem.Frage: Wird es dieses bald geben?Danke.

Previous versions seemed to allow a bypass of the "welcome" screen that the three choices and lots of proposed tutorials.    I would like to go directly to Expert upon start up and can't seem to find the settings in the Help tab that used to do that change over.   Thanks. 

I recently bought a new LG Gram laptop (Windows 10) and installed my paid, CD version of Photoshop Elements 2018.  It seems to install okay, but when I try to open the program I get the following error message:  The program can't start because VCRUNTIME140_1.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. I've uninstalled and reinstalled PSE 2018 from both my CD and my downloaded version of the software and I get the same error message.  FYI -- PSE 2018 works fine on my older (2018) HP laptop (also Windows 10), but not the new one. What could be wrong?  How do I fix this.  Thanks.

Photo Editor window opens in the middle of the main monitor (Mac)Cannot be moved around the screen or to a 2nd monitor.

I have a folder in the Organizer with 24 pictures in it and it works fine. However, if I go to the same folder using Windows 10 File Explorer and open the folder, the thumbnails come up for a few seconds and then the folder snaps closed. I copied the folder in Explorer and put the copy on another partition of the drive and the same behavior is repeated. So it seems as though something is screwy with one of the files in the folder which causes the folder to close almost immediately. Any thoughts of what could be going on?

With a recent purchase/installation of Photoshop Elements 2021 all is well... until I select PRINT. As soon as I press PRINT the app shuts down completely. No alert, no warning. Boom, closed. Hello. I don't seem able to run PSE17 on my new macbook. OS: BigSur 11.6 Any tips?

My hard drive failed recently. I thought I had adequately prepared for this by maintaining backups to my NAS, but apparently not. I used the NAS' own backup software, but now I've discovered from reading this forum that restoring from the NAS to a new HDD won't work because the HDD will have a different serial number (*sigh*). I think I have a solution, but it involves quite a lot of work so I'd like to solicit some expert advice first.My "old" computer had a small SSD cache and a large HDD. The HDD was the (C:) drive and it was the SSD that failed. My rebuilt computer has a larger SSD for the Windows operating system and a very large SSD for data. The OS has to be on (C:) and the data SSD is currently (E:).Here's my plan: the original HDD (C:) still works, so I'm going to reformat it, put it into a spare PC, and install Windows on it. I will then copy "Pictures" and the PSE files to it from my NAS. I will then open the PSE catalog on this spare PC from PSE which is installed on my reb

I'm trying to create a contact sheet of photos for a decoupage project which requires thumnail sized prints. I do not have a good enough printer to print the resulting photos, so will have to take it to a shop to get them printed. So how do i create and save the contact sheet to send to the printer?

Hello!  I have a ton of photo files and instead of storing them all on my computer's hard drive, they are stored across 3 external hard drives (and there's an additional 4th external hard drive that I purchased solely as a back-up drive for all of my files for Adobe Elements Backup Catalog.  I'm on Photoshop Elements 2020. Here's my issue.  I have an all-in-one computer and until just today, have had one heckuva time finding USB ports to plug into.  So a lot of the time, I'll have the external hard drive that I'm currently working on photos plugged into the USB port on the side of my computer that is most conveniently located.  When I have multiple external hard drives plugged in all at once, this creates an issue.  Adobe Elements Organizer doesn't recognize the external hard drives unless they were plugged into the exact location they were in when I mass uploaded the photo files to Organizer.  Today, I just got a 7-port USB hub so that I wouldn'

After installing Photoshop Elements 2020 I get from time to time a dialog with the error message "No more virtual tiles can be allocated.". This happens always immediately after a reboot. It also pops up about once a day, always when the software is not in use. The dialog is created by the "Elements Auto Creations 2020.exe" process. There is about 400 GB of free SSD space left, andf always more than 5 GB of free RAM.   {Thread renamed by moderator}

PS Elements 2020 Mac OS X (Mojave) why are there large blank areas between thumbnails when scrolling through organizer ?

Yesterday, my shortcut to PSE 2021 editor stopped working altogether.  Spinning circle would flash and then stop and nothing happened.  Went into program files and made new shortcut.  It opens slowly, (with that unknown background in screenshot) gets to scan for plug ins and then seems to stop completely.  Will suddenly open after 5, 10, maybe 15 minutes.  Not kidding....takes that long.  I actually saw a question I could answer, did that, and still waited for editor to open.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am running the latest version of PSE [Ver. 19.0 (20210811.m.158081)X64] under Windows 10, 64bit. How do I make it open Fuji RAF files? The 'Update' option under Help is disabled. New to PSE and this forum. Thanks for your help.

After working perfectly well for years my Elements Editor has suddenly started showing white as yellow. No other programmes are affected including Elements Organiser which shows white correctly. The colour picker shows the white background #fffff as yellow. See attached screenshot images. Help please!

Hello! First time trying to use Photoshop Elements 11. I went to Import, then selected card reader. I can watch the files being copied, all the way to 100%. Then I receive this message: "Nothing was imported. The file(s) or folder(s) selected to import did not contain any supported file types, or the files are already in this Catalog." Can anyone assist me? I'm able to upload the same photos into Lightroom 6 just fine.

Two things 1. Elemtns 2021 will not upgrade now or even after it closes tells me the file is empty in HDUPDATER.  I do remember there was something I was supposed to do but I do not rmeember what it is.   2. In Print Preview in elements 2021, the designs are becoming much smaller than it was from the design i had on the editor.  No matter what paper size I use it is the same thing.  This never happened before and I have been using elements since 2014. Hello, I've installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 on my new computer.  It says that if I don't validate it today it will stop working.  I jumped through all the hoops and then saw a box on my screen saying "Serial Number Validation".  There are two buttons: 'connect later' and 'validate'.  When I click 'validate', it says "Please connect to the internet to validate your serial number".  I am definitely connected, as this post proves.  Any ideas?   Lloyd
