Photoshop Elements

My canvas is blinking (image disappearing) when I'm using the brush tool. What could be wrong? 

In working with the magnetic lasso tool,  I come to realize that a magnetic lasso tool size of 100, for example, is not 100 pixels wide, why is that? 

can anyone please tell me if this is possible in the 2019 version, and if it is how to do it?Many thanks,DP

Whenever I change the foreground colour to use with a brush, the square changes to the colour I have chosen, but as soon as I apply the brush, it reverts back to grey. No matter how many times I try to change it, this always happens. The mode in image is set to RGB, not greyscale so I really don't know what to do. I've already reinstalled the program once and that hasn't made any difference. Any suggestions would really be appreciated as I've become really hooked on using this great program and want to expand my knowledge about using brushes but just keep getting really frustrated.

Hi, After losing all my photo folders in Picasa (which I have now removed from my computer) I have managed to retrieve them from my hard drive and loaded them into Photoshop Elements 11. I have dozens of duplicate photos but when I run the "find duplicate photos" section all it does is load the "similar photos" section. How can I remove all the duplicates?

I am using Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and would like to add superscript and subscript text to a poster I am designing. The Ctrl + Shift + + shortcut does not work--I found this shortcut with a google search. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you.

I'm using Elements for the first time today.  I'm converting a directory with several subfolders from .tif to .jpg.  It looks like the conversion went OK, but the program said there were errors and created a MultipleFiles process log.  I opened the log file to see what happened and it's in CHINESE!  Where is the setting to correct this?  FYI, I tried pasting the text into Google Translate and the output is gibberish. 

Some of my images have a small red, it looks like some sort of timepiece, in the top left hand corner. Does anyone know what this signifies?

I have Photoshop Elements 21 installed on a Dell Precision Workstation running Windows 10 2004, 64-bit with 32 GB RAM and an Intel Xeon processor. I am currently working with a TIF file that is roughly 2.7 GB in size, attempting to straigthen it. When I select the function to perform this action, Elements seems to get hung up at about the last 30% and will not move past that point. Elements goes from using roughly 1.5 GB of RAM idle, to 3 GB of RAM opening the image, to almost 12GB of RAM when attempting to process the image before it comes to a complete stop.. I have already adjusted both the RAM that Elements can use (17GB) and have given it access to a drive that has well over 500GB of scratch disk space to attempt to resolve the issue, but have not had any luck. I have included screenshots as well as system information. Has anyone else run into this issue before?

I often upload many pictures, sometimes 50 or more, to a single Facebook page.  To do this, I open a folder onto Desktop, and then drag a load of pictures from Organizer.  I then upload from Facebook. I wonder if you could do this in a simpler way straight from Organizer.  I can do this for Twitter, just drag up to 4 pictures.  Thanks.  I am in the UK. 

HI I have loaded Photoshop Elements 2021, I have been a elements user for a number of years now. I have a new Apple mac air. the problem I have is when I download photos onto organiser I find that scrolling the photos simply does not happen or when it does it is very slow and alos the spining ball comes up.  Elements is working prefectly without scrooling issues. this is driving me mad. any solution you may have I would be very grateful. thasnk you \

I am wondering if anyone else is having this issue.  The Refine Selection Brush is deselecting instead of selecting in PSE 2018.  I tried reversing the selection to add to the selection, but that did not work either.  I open the same file in PSE 14 and PSE 15, and everything works as it should.  I figure I will call Adobe tomorrow and let them know, so they can fix this issue.  Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

Hello, I am new to the photoshop world. I've been learning the basics since September of 2020. My #1 need for photoshop is for extractions. I focus on sports photography and create sports templates. My problem is that it is taking forever to extract my images. I recently landed a job for a local recreation baseball program. I have about 200 images to extract and doing them one by one is taking forever. I am currently using the "select" tab followed by "subject" tab. I normally get a decent outline of my image, but I still have to do quite a bit of editing with the quick selection tool. My question is...HOW do I speed this process up? How do the big companies who do school yearbook photos do this so quickly? My final pictures turn out really great, but it takes forever to edit. There's got to be a faster way. Any suggestions? I have PE2020 for Windows.  I have used the Instant Fix to edit some photos, but just noticed that when I click on Save after the editing, the original photo is REPLACED and not saved.  I don't see that there is a Save As option.  I don't want to lose my original.  Facebook will not download many of these edited photos because, I assume, the files may be too large. (Just guesssing) Lou

When I crop a picture with personal measures the same measures used to remain for cropping next picture.This feature is gone, now I have to type the measures again and again with each new picture.How can I get this function back again? 

When I do a "Save MetaData to File" operation, Photoshop Elements Organizer places a copy of the file in C://Users/[user]/AppData/Local/Temp/ and does not delete it.  Over time this begins to consume a lot of disk space, expecially when I'm working with .tif and raw files.  Fortunatele Windows does warn me when the C: drive is running low on space.  This has been happening now for many months and the first time I ran low on C: drive space it took quite a bit of time to figure out where the free space had gone.  Please fix this ASAP.

And while I was testing Gigapixel as a stand alone in case I didn't like it, Topaz linked itself to Lightroom and I assume Photoshop but now no Topaz plug-ins show (greyed out) in the PSE filter section.  How do I get it to show again?  I tried the Edit > preferences > plug-ins > additional plug-ins folder > etc. and restarted several times but no luck.   This is a pain....

I'm on macOS Mojave V 10.14.6 and Photoshop Editor 2020 v18 (latest).  I have a huge project ahead of me scanning in all the old negatives from my families lives.  I'm using an Epson V600 Perfection scanner with none of the fancy options turned on, using the Epson Scan 2 software to scan them in.  I'd like to scan the negatives at 4800 dpi, but can't even get a 3200 dpi tiff or jpeg to open in Photoshop Editor.  The 3200 dpi jpeg file size is less than 13MB, the tiff one is very large at 791MB   I have ample memory available (32GB, of which 15.5 GB is in use), but when trying to open the tiff file it says "Could not complete your request because Photoshop Elements does not recognize this type of file".  If I reduce the dpi to 2400, it then opens it.  But 2400 dpi is not really enough for negatives, especially the ones with large family portraits we might want to enlarge.  I don't want to proceed on this large (multi-week) project w

Hello, I'm using PSE 2020 in Windows 10. Is it possible to place an Outside Stroke to a shape without rounded or clipped outside corners? I'm attaching before and after images of my attempt to put an Outside Stroke on the shape of the letter "T". I don't want the clipped corners in the after image.  

I upgraded my mac computer.  As such I had to download my purchase of Adobe Photo Elements 2019.  After downloading it I got an error message saying the download was faulty and I need to re download.  I did as the error message suggested and I still got the error.  I re downloaded applications manager as per another post and it did not help the issue.  I am not a techy guy and need some help.  Please advise.  

I purchasedPhotoshop Elements 7 as a DVD (I have the serial number) and now have a computer without a DVD drive.  I like version 7 so how can I access the program without having to buy and external DVD drive?
