Premiere (Beta)

It will not play any video in the program but will play audio unless there is the only video in the first track and no other. Tried restarting but that didn't help. 

Steps to reproduce:     1. Change a Caption Track format (e.g. Subtitle to 708)     2. I’m working on a project using the beta build 23.4. The reason I’m working beta is use the text-driven edit function.I keep getting sn error that audio can’t be muted in order to make a transcript.After a week of trying to figure why it wasn’t creating source file transcripts (which are needed to do text-driven video editing), I’ve discovered a possible reason:The sources have 4 tracks of audio.1 - Nothing2 - sync (camera mic)3 - sync (lav)4 - sync (boom)I best source is Lav on 3.I tried soloing track 3 - no dice.I tried all modify/audio channels on the clip, reducing it to a single source - no dice.After creating an intermediate file with a single mono audio track, it does work.So … I suspect that the when the transcript is created, it uses Track 1 of the audio. With 4 (track 1 silent), the process doesn’t seem to see audio.TEMP SOLUTION:Using EditReady I was easily able to rewrap the assets and strip the empty channel 1 out. This maintained file time code, name, and metadata. However

In recent builds, animating still images using motion is not working properly, if I set keyframes for any property (pos, scale, rot) the playback will show me no motion, scrubbing the time indicator works fine, but as I said playback isn't working. Animating videos works just fine. (Win 10, B47).

Every time I try and assign a number as a keyboard shortcut it doesn't get saved. 

The Effects Manager lets you see which third-party video effect plugins are installed and disable or enable them.  If you suspect a plugin could be causing stability issues, it’s now easier to disable it with the new Effects Manager. We need your input as we finish working on this new manager! The Video Effect Manager is a dialog that allows you to see a list of all your installed video effects along with helpful details including Effect Name, Category, and File Path on disk. But most importantly: each effect has a checkbox to enable or disable the effect on next startup.  Effects that have been disabled in the Effects Manager will no longer be available to apply in the Effects panel. I'm excited to tell you that today's beta of Premiere Pro - v22.3, build 22 - dramatically improves the playback performance of RED R3D raw files.    In this beta, customers with Apple silicon computers will see the performance benefit. Steps to reproduce:1.Create a sequence2. Put some things in it3. Note the duration of the sequence Result:In the Project panel, the Media Duration column ALWAYS shows it as 12 hours long. Which it probably isn't. I have a bunch of 5 and 6 second sequences in my project panel, and PPro thinks they's all 12 hours long.Expected:The 'Media Duration' should display the duration of the media, not a silly number. Media being imported as 12 hour clip. All clips regardless of actual duration is being imported as 11:59:16:20 duration. Tried unlinking and re-linking and deleting media cache, but no such luck. System info    Application: Premiere Pro (Beta) v23.4.0.47    OS: Windows v10.0.22621, RAM: 127.87 GB GB, CPUs (logical): 48

For Apple silicon users, we’ve added hardware acceleration of media in AVC Intra in MXF format. That sounds very specific but it’s actually fairly common. On Sony cameras, like the FX6 and FX9, it’s XAVC-I .mxf files. On Canon, with cameras like the C70 and C300, it’s XF-AVC Intra .mxf files.    AVC Intra already performs well on most recent computers. However, with hardware acceleration on Apple silicon, you should see: Lower CPU utilization during playback Faster output times Smoother playback with multiple video tracks   If you’re using an Apple silicon Mac with this type of media, we’d love to get your feedback.  &

One of those things thats hard to diagnose becasue it seems to happen at random.   I have a dump file but its 30GB I'll see if I can compress and upload. 

Recovery Mode is now in Premiere Pro Beta!    Premiere makes it easier to recover your work.   After a force quit or crash of Premiere Pro, reopen the application and a message will appear with a ‘reopen’ button that allows you to open your project(s) including changes between the last save and the crash or force quit. No more lost work!       You can save these changes and your original project file(s) will update. You can also revert to the last user-saved state using the File>Revert menu option.    In the local drive project folder, there is now a subfolder called RecoveryProjects with a file for each project. Premiere attempts to save a copy of your project upon a crash or force quit of the application. If that is unsuccessful, Premiere will use the most recent autosave.      We want to know what you think.  Please join the conversation below.     

None of the extension panels I have will load, including frame.io (which is an embedded extension panel, accessed by window->review with frame.io)      

Editng the text of transcripts is very basic. It would be great to have a Find/Replace function.

There are a number of plugins that can remove silence from a sequence. The most recent one I tested (AutoCut) does not work (Monterey 12.6.4, Pr Pro Beta 23.4.0.43).It would be great to have this as a native function within Premiere's Transcription tools.

When I am creating active transcripts of a sequence that has multiple clips, several times (not always) I have noticed that the final clip does not complete its transcription. I have to load into source viewer and retranscribe the asset.NOTE: existing sequence transcripts are in place so this happens when replacing with an active transcript.Pr Ver: 23.4.0 Build 43Mac OS: 12.6.4 (21G526)MBPro 2017 16-inch 

Premiere Beta 23.4 will not open my projects. It crashes before they can load. I had to revert back to version 23.3.

Today's update, 23.4.0, Build 44, has broken the Review Panel. It just displays as a blank panel. Switching to CPU only changes nothing, clearing media cache, i.e. nothing. It was working fine in the last build.

Premiere Pro 23.1.0 (Build 86) macOS Ventura 13.2.1 (22D68) Hot keys are not working in any window thats not the main premiere window. Even basic ones like space bar for play back. I don't know how to explain the problem more plainly. I haven't found any solutions online and its incredibly frustrating because I work in two moniters.

After about 2-3 minutes the system restarts.Some times during Premiere restarting, a GPU initialization occurs.I gave a try with Beta version but the isuue persist. I haven't any problem like this with other software I use (After effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other).

Premiere Pro 23.4.0.37Windows 11To reproduce: set hot key "1" to minimize all tracks (setting only one is not enough it maintains the setting if its only one key that is changed), set another hotkey "2" to increase audio track height, set "3" to increase video track height -- should be enough.click save. Currently the new set hotkeys won't work, and if you go back to hotkey editor, they would be vanished also from it.

My keyboard shortcuts aren't saving. When I make a change and click save as and try to overwrite my keyboard file it reverts and close the dialog it reverts to the last keyboard shortcut file. We are replacing OpenGL with DirectX12 as the preferred display technology on Windows with the eventual goal of phasing out OpenGL entirely. There are many benefits to DirectX including better stability and performance, and a more modern codebase that is more efficient for us to maintain. But possibly the most exciting benefit is support for Windows 10 advanced color which allows displaying HDR content on an HDR10 capable display. There are some prerequisites to making this work which are detailed below – you must have an HDR-capable GPU and monitor.  If your system configuration does not support DirectX12, it will fall back to use OpenGL as it used to.   System Requirements Operating System: Windows 10, version 1709 or later.
